The prefects have their own compartment. They hold a meeting every year and you can find help here if you need it. Prefects' only, please, unless you have been invited or need assistance!
Sarah had dragged her trunk onboard, leaving it with the others, and made her way down to the Prefect's compartment. As she peeked her head inside the door, she noticed it was completely empty.Making her the first one there. "Looks like we're early, Screech," she smiled down at the owl in it's cage in her right hand.
Sliding the door closed again, she placed the cage on the seat next to her, and reached forward into her bag.Pulling out the latest copy of Witch Weekly, Sarah began to read. She couldn't go on her rounds until the Head Boy and Girl had made their speech, and she still had to find out who that was.Crossing her legs, she leant against the window frame, resting the magazine on her lap.Twisting her hair around her left index finger, she slowly scanned the pages.
Ooooh-kay. This was really really awkward...but exciting at the same time. Hehe... Pulling hard at Chis' leash, the black-and-white cat literally tumbled after Nancy as she made her way down the corridor towards the Prefects' Compartment. Hopefully all of the others weren't there yet...which would mean she was late. Which would not make a good impression at all. Obviously.
Wondering how the compartment would differ from the 'normal' ones Nancy took a deep breath before pushing open the compartment door a little to be able to just peek inside. Blue eyes immediately sweeping about the place in search for something exciting, her face fell a little as she had to realize that the compartment did not exactly offer any special, awesome extra-stuff. Crap! Well, still, it was the PREFECTS Compartment. That was special and awesome on its own.
The 17 year old pushed the door open fully so she would be able to actually ENTER the compartment and quickly did so, pulling her black-and-white cat along behind her. "Sarah!" Nancy beamed at the only current inhabitant of the compartment. Good thing she wasn't late after all...unless they had already finished...Err...

Sarah had been too busy reading to even hear when the door opened. No, Margerita Mallenburg and her beauty secrets were far too engrossing. She'd been turning page after page of her magazine, lazily sticking her fingers through the bars of Screech's cage for him to nibble affectionately.Occassionally she pulled the mag nearer to get a better look at the before and after pictures for the wrinkle-free treatments on offer, muttering to herself and scoffing at the plastic looking faces. Why on earth anyone would want to look that way she'd never know....
No, she heard nothing, until her name was said. That caused her to jump and sent her magazine flying across the compartment, only for it to land on the opposite seat.Snaping her head around, she broke out into a grin as she saw Nancy. "Hey! Nancy! Wh--- urrr," she stopped mid sentence as the Slytherin girl actually ENTERED the compartment. "Umm, was there something you wanted help with? It's just that this one is for Prefect's only and you're not allowed in here without invitation...." Of course Sarah COULD invite her anyway, that way the other's wouldn't mind her being there.
She was absolutely oblivious to the badge her friend was wearing.
Nancy jumped slightly - involuntarily jerking at the leash while doing so, which was not exactly approved of by her cat *Hiss!Growl* - as Sarah tossed the magazine across the compartment. Jeeeeez. Her eyes lingering on the magazine for a moment - what EXACTLY was Sarah reading?! - she turned them to gaze at the Hufflepuff again, a slightly confused look on her face. "Err...sorry, didn't mean to well, frighten you." At this she pointedly glanced at the magazine, a smirk playing around her lips.
Taking another step into the Prefects' Compartment Nancy casually turned slightly to close the door behind her. "Help? No..." She trailed off innocently as she turned back around to face her friend again, a fake-confused look on her face. "I'm quite aware of that, Sarah." She simply replied as the Hufflepuff told her that this compartment was only for Prefects...hehe, she didn't get it now, did she?
Nancy stood there for a moment, her blue eyes resting on Sarah expectantly, her smirk growing wider and wider. While waiting for the Hufflepuff to count two and two together she quickly bent down to release Chis from his leash. The cat immediately gave its owner one last glare before curling up on the closest vacant seat...ON the magazine Sarah had been reading.

"Ooooh pretty kitty." Celandine pointed out as she stepped inside the compartment just a little behind Nancy. Of course being Cela she didn't think to comment on Nancy being there, why would she when there was a kitty to gush over?
She'd already done a quick once over of the train, just to be sure there weren't any lost firsties stuck in the corridors or anything, and now it was time to go play with the other prefects. She mentally revised her little speech and sat down on an angle to the window so she could look outside and over the heads of anyone who sat there if they happened to be boring.
Humm. She wondered if Chris had decided to speak too. Not that it mattered since Cela would happily take charge. Still, they were a team and all that. Did that team take precedence over team 'claw? Gosh. So she had two teams? Three if you counted the other prefects as a whole?
Figuring out how many teams she was on was totally distracting and a little frown crossed Cela's face. She was already in her uniform and school robes of course, the ones that she'd bought with Chris with the lining and stitching colour changes, and her badge was firmly on.
Charmed on.
It wouldn't be falling off in alleys this term.

"That's alright - just ..... distracted," Sarah slowed her words down as she watched the kitty hiss at her, and Nancy close the door.Okay, so maybe this wasn't just for Prefect's this term.OR someone had already invited Nancy in, but she had got there before them! Yes, that must be it.Especially as she said she didn't need help, and knew this was for Prefect's.Good...
But - wait.
Sarah's eyebrows knitted into a slight frown as she tried to think what was going on.Nancy was smile-smirking, so that had to mean something. Why was her brain not working right now? It must have been too full with all those needless beauty tips in the magazine - a magazine that the cat was now lying on.Instinctively she covered up Screech's cage with the blanket, so he couldn't be seen by the now loose cat.It was as she did that a lightbulb went off in her head.Eyes widening, she turned back to face her friend... "YOU'RE A PREFECT!!!!" Cue squealing, and jumping out of her seat to throw her arms around her. "Congratulations, Nancy!"
Sarah was still beaming as she moved to the side to allow someone else in.It was Cela, and she appeared to be in a daydream - about the kitteh. "Hey Cela," she smiled, finally letting go of Nancy's waist and picking up the owl cage to put on the shelf.Sitting herself back down, she motioned for Nancy to sit with her.
Chris had gotten on to the train that morning with a bounce in his step, he was excited to see his friends, glad to be returning as a Prefect, and estatic he was this term's Head Boy.
As he made his way down the crowded corridors of the train he had pointed firsties into this corridor or that one, said hello to a few familiar faces and managed to trip only twice. Regardless, Chris took a deep breath, swept the front of his new robes (Coincedentally picked out and altered by Cela's fashionable ways), straightened the new Golden Pin on his chest and through the door open with a winning smile.
"Hello Prefects!!!!" he said loudly in a comical, play-showy way. He looked around and a wrinkle appeared on his forehead as he noticed not everyone was there. Could it be that there were really that many who had graduated last term? What was Nancy from Slytherin doing here? Why am I thinking so many questions in my hed right now, when I should be all Head Boy-like and actually hang out with the Prefects?'
The blank stare falling from his face as his mind emptied like a sink drain, he wore a huge smile again as he walked over and greated Sarah, from Hufflepuff a good friend of his. "Sarah! How are you? It's great to see you...and your owl!" He bent over to look at the adorable creature.
Then to address the obviously new or trespassing Slytherin friend of his. "Hello Nancy!" he gave her a quick hug, he had known her awhile now but just hadn't been that close before. "How was your summer? Are you Prefecting this term?" he completely missed the badge on the front of her robes.
Then he turned slightly and caught a glimpse of his blonde, up until recently bubbly Head gir/partner and ran over to her throwing his arms around her into a hug. After that he stepped back and looked at her robes. "Pretty nice robes! Where did you ge them?" he asked her sarcastically already knowng and being there when she had bought them. They had agreed to spread the word for Madam Malkin's had they not?

It was sad that Reese had graduated, considering when Cela thought about it, the older Slytherin had kind of just always been there, but Nancy was super awesome after all.
And smart. And Cela liked smart people.
Sarah was super smart too, maybe not Cela smart, but definitely up there.
"Hi Nancy, Hi Sarah." Celandine greeted finally and belatedly.

Chris arrived a split second later, in his usual super-enthused-Gryffindor way. He was good at cheering Celandine up, that was for sure. She was surprised again to find him hugging her all of a sudden, but she did give him a quick squeeze back and laughed lightly at his comment.
"Oh you know, Madame Malkins." Cela waved her hand airily. Obviously it was the thing to do. You know, stitching adjustments and all that.
V. Cutting edge.
Never mind that Cela had been colouring her own stitching in her uniform since third year.

Gold patted the top of her hair, for some reason. Maybe she wanted to make sure it wasn't frizzy. Not that her hair was ever out-of-place - okay, her hair was USUALLY not out-of-place - but she just felt like it. She tucked back a bright, red bang, and stepped into the Prefects' compartment.
The first person she saw was a new prefect. What was her name? Nancy, right? Gold remembered her from a few lessons. She gave the girl a polite nod, before looking around at everyone else. "Hey Chris, Sarah -- Cela." Then she saw Chris's badge - WHOA.
"Chris! You're Head Boy!" She gave him a quick hug. "Who is Head Girl?" She had no idea, but she thought it might be Cela. Which was exactly why she looked at the girl and -- well, looked like it definitely was Cela. "Congratulations, Cela. Both of you, in fact."

Tilting her head slightly to the side in obvious amusement Nancy continued to watch Sarah in search for some sign of realization. Something like a little lightbulb appearing over the Hufflepuff's head...now THAT certainly would look interesting. It would match the girl's outfit though...Hufflepuff Yellow - yellow lightbulb...Hehe... Yes, there were times LisaNancy was a little random...good thing she didn't know any Legilimens. THAT would have been embarrassing!
And finally it was there. No, not the lightbulb but the realization plastered across Sarah's face. "YES!" Nancy exclaimed, beaming at her friend excitedly as she was literally tackled by the latter. Because she had decided that becoming a Prefect was a good thing...well, of course it was, but it sort of meant more to her now than it would have if she had been appointed Prefect last year...it was just different. And it meant she wasn't bad after all or something.
Hugging Sarah back a little giddily Nancy grinned down at her. "Thanks!" She didn't get to say anymore for now as it was right then that somebody else entered the Prefects' Compartment. Nancy turned her head slightly to find herself face to face with Cela, the Ravenclaw Pref-no, Head Girl!"Congr-!" She stopped mid-sentence, though as the other girl only seemed to have eyes for...Chistery?! O_o Why did people start acting so strange about her cat?

Directing a rather confused look at Sarah concerning Cela's rather absentminded behavior Nancy shrugged a little as she turned to sit down at the seat Sarah had indicated, next to the Hufflepuff. However, the 17 year old never actually reached that seat - as much as she would have wanted to - as right then a loud welcome announced the arrival of yet another Prefect: Chris.
Nancy was pulled into a light hug by the Gryffindor which she returned before moving away of him a little, giving him a strange look. Was she prefecting this term?! "Oh, err, no, sorry, I guess this is the wrong compartment...oh, and look what I found...it looks almost genuine, huh?" Nancy glanced down the front of her robes at the OBVIOUS Slytherin Prefect badge pinned to her robes. Hehe...
"Erm...my summer? It's been...er...OMG! You're Head Boy!" Yes, smooth change of subject. "Congrats!" At this she pulled him into a quick hug, grinning up at him, before finally plopping down into the seat next to Sarah. Her cat on the seat opposite of hers glared at her for a moment before returning back to sleep.

Just as she was about to ask Sarah about the strange magazine she had been reading Cela returned to planet Earth, finally, taking their presence in. Nancy was rather tempted to give her a Welcome Back!, resisted the urge to do so however. The girl had probably simply been lost in thought...
"Hey Cela." Nancy couldn't help but smirk slightly but then gave the other girl a genuine grin. "Oh, and congrats on your new badge!" Though, it had been to expect...

Rawwrrr.
Nancy's attention was caught by the sound of yet another entering Prefect who was not quite as well known to her than the others. It was the female Gryffindor Prefect...the one with the, well, flashy hair. What was her name again? Err...
Apparently the other girl wasn't too sure of her name either, or just didn't think it was worth straining her vocal chords to greet her. HOPEFULLY it was the first option. Nancy returned the nod she had received from the Gryffindor before turning her attention back to the others inside the compartment.
