And then! Aha! Another person! And even better, a fellow Ravenclaw. Becca took her legs off the seat immediately and sat like a normal person. "Hey Mariel," Becca gave an approving nod, remembering the sixth year from Quidditch way back in the day. While she didn't talk to very many people, she still could place any name with a face. "Sup?"

Cedes walked around on the train, looking for a good compartment with a flourishing amount of females... that or no people at all. However she seemed to arrive rather late since many of the compartments were already taken up by either too happy people... or men. That or smooching, gushy, mushy couples. And if anyone was gonna believe that she was going to allow herself to be stuck in a compartment with one of those thingiemajiggies... they were WRONG. Cedes believed that she'd rather be stuck with a GUY than with one of THOSE. And that was saying a lot.
Soon enough, Cedes began to get tired of walking around and so she made a vow to sit in the first compartment she walked in... which wasn't smart because what if there was a guy? But she didn't care. She did. But she wanted a seat. But she didn't want cooties. Ahhh... mental debates with herself.
The girl opened up the compartment door to see two girls and a BOY. "Hello. Will I be interrupting the party?" Boy. Boy. BOY. Quote:

her name and Mariel still hadn't a clue. Never letting her smile falter, she continued her "everything's cool" expression. Beth Ann? The more Mariel thought about it, the more she second-guessed herself. Maybe it
was Beth Ann... though she didn't really look like a Beth Ann, she thought as looked her over. She still wasn't going to say anything though. Maybe Kevin would say her name when he talked to her, or maybe some other friend of hers would come by. Then she would hear it. No need to embarass herself.
"Not much," she finally answered, cool as a cucumber.
"Excited to be back. Been away for awile. I'm sure I missed a lot."
Hmm. It seemed as though Kevin and her housemate had already made their introductions so she wouldn't be catching that name anytime soon. Instead she just nodded as he spoke.
"That's cool. So, uh..." What was she to say now? Small talk was eluding her at the present moment and it seemed especially hard to think of things to say to people she hadn't spoken to in so long. She was saved, however, by the presence of another.
Mariel's attention was diverted to the door when a girl about her age appeared there, asking for permission to enter.
"Sure, have a seat," she shrugged and gestured to an empty spot in the compartment. Now was her chance to find out if the other Ravenclaw's name was Beth Ann or not - though she was fairly certain not - as she eagerly looked from the Claw to the new girl, waiting to see if either offered their name to the other.
And another? Mariel glanced back to the door once more as a little girl walked in - one that apparently knew Kevin. The sixth year gave her a brief, acknowledging nod as she entered. Oh good, another chance for introductions. Mariel was in the clear now.
