One of the new professors stepped down off the dais looking completely disgusted. He headed straight toward the Slytherin house table and began walking slowly down one length of it, scrutinizing the faces of the students on the other side. He still looked completely disgusted as he clasped his hands behind his back and bent ever so slightly at the waist to peer into the faces of the students.

Zoe noticed one of the professors looking quite disturbed as he marched up and down evaluating the Slytherin dinner table "Is there a problem here professor?" Zoe enquired.

The food was good as always, but Kiri put her fork aside after only a few mouthfuls. Glancing at Professor Lupa up on the dais, next to whom Professor Bunbury was in an apparently heated conversation with the new Astronomy instructor, gesticulating wildly, something about Professor Lupa and Kiri's conversation came back to her. Filled with unforeseen problems.

Professor Lupa's office... what if they hadn't managed to clear those boxes away during the summer? Kiri still wasn't quite sure whether she'd really done that (and didn't feel like asking Reese about that at all), but if her memories were correct, the magic she'd performed to keep the boxes in place had been fairly strong. What if, after the feast was over, she'd have to walk past them again? And then tomorrow, and the day after, and...

Bad news. She sighed and moved some food around on the plate with her fork. Then she straightened up. One of the new teachers - strange, she hadn't really noticed this one before - was climbing down the dais and wandering in the direction of the table where Kiri and the rest of the Slytherins were seated.
Kiri felt vaguely uneasy. He scrutinised every student carefully, but in a way that Kiri wasn't comfortable with at all. The way he bent over a little every time made her feel as if he was... examining them, like interesting butterflies on display in a glass cabinet.

She stared back, her face carefully blank.

After about the hundredth time Nancy had scanned the Slytherin House Table in search for...familiar faces (*coughoneinparticularcough*) she had ended up simply staring at her plate which - of course - was still empty. Guh! At least there could have been food. This would have definitely improved her mood. Slightly anyways. What was taking this new headmaster-person so long to make his speech anyways?!

Since arriving in the Great Hall it was now the first time she actually glanced up at the Staff Table upon hearing an enormous sneeze. What was wrong with these people?! Barely listening to the Headmaster's speech Nancy then resumed to gloomily twirl the fork between her fingers while inwardly begging for the headmaster-guy to hurry. She needed apple pie. And she needed it NOW!

Then, finally - after a lot of bla-bla from the headmaster - food appeared on the plates on the table. Only now, that the apple pie was now finally safely on her plate Nancy's longing for it had ceased. Food was over-rated. Totally. Out of the corner of her eyes she noticed a man - one of the new professors - approaching their house table which made her divert her eyes from the mess on her plate that once had been her apple pie. Somehow it more resembled mashed potatoes now.

Anyways. The look on the professor's face could only be described as digusted. Oh well, it seemed that at least Nancy was not the only one in a bad mood. Something made her doubt that it was for the same reason, though. Uhm...yes. The way the professor seemed to scrutinize each and every one of them made it almost impossible not to stare at him. Even if she tried to do it discreetly. There was something about this man...

Sarah looked at Nancy, there was something she was supposed to give her but she couldn't remember what it was. Oh wait that was it, she had a letter from Steven that she was supposed to give her, well if Nancy wants it she wouldn't be getting it.

Sarah walked upto Nancy and put on a fake smile. "Hey Nancy, I notice that Steven isn't here." She smirked. "Oh I just thought I'd tell you he isn't coming back this term, though if you ment that much to him he would surely of told you." Sarah smiled evily.

After carrying his sister to the staff table to be healed.. Waz decided to take a break at the Slytherin table, he was soo hungry and tired he didn't really take much notice of the people around him.. he took a seat and stared at the food.. Oh the decissions.. though he loved his food dearly.. he still didn't know what to take!

Somehow...he looked mysterious. If this was good or bad, Nancy wasn't able to figure out just now but he definitely did look mysterious. Especially the way he-

Guh! Now, had she thought that her day couldn't get any worse a few moments ago? Well, apparently it could. Sarah was standing right next to her. Great. Just great. Slowly turning her head slightly to the side so that she could look at her Nancy heaved a sigh of annoyance. What did she want?! The way she smirked at her made Nancy feel the urge to smash the mess on her own plate right into the Hufflepuff's face. It would definitely look better than the smug smirk she was wearing at the moment.

Steven?! So he really wasn't here. He...was gone. He had just left. Without saying a word. "I..." The worst thing was that she had to reply something. React in some way. In some smug way so that Sarah couldn't see how horrible she was feeling inside. Trying her best to keep her face blank Nancy started again. "Well, very...kind of you to tell me." Her lips curled up into a smirk...which did not reach her eyes.

He had left. He had left Hogwarts. He had left...

...her.

"I'm sorry he never told you." Sarah sighed, though inwardly she was giggling, she couldn't wait until she got back to her own table to giggle her head off, she could tell that Nancy was really upset and she was sure that Nancy was so upset with the fact that Steven hadn't told her he wasn't coming back this term.

Honestly? Right then and there Nancy really felt the urge to smash mashed apple pie into Sarah's face. It was probably obvious for everybody - well, apart from those reaaally oblivious to their surroundings - that Sarah was in fact NOT sorry. Not at all. Being sorry was probably the last thing on her mind. She was definitely enjoying torturing Nancy that way. Why did she have to be Steven's cousin?!

Ouch! Nancy refrained from wincing. Thinking his name was not good. Not at all. He had left her. He had just left. Without a goodbye. Without anything. The 16 year old bit down hard on her lower lip to keep it from trembling and took a deep breath through her nose. She needed to stay calm. At least for now. At least until Sarah was gone again. Looking the girl straight in the eyes Nancy's voice was rather cold and indifferent. "I'm sorry too..." For what, she did not say.

Sarah could see that Nancy was getting annoyed with her but she didn't care. "Well I know Steven's mother wasn't very keen on them coming back after what happened last term." Sarah decided to keep on saying Steven's name. "Well when Steven got told he wrote letters to everyone he cared about, well I already knew since I live with them." Sarah smiled. "She wanted to keeps me out of school too but I decided that I would stay." Sarah knew that would defently upset Nancy. "Well what are you doing?"

Iris grinned. "Ahh well. Don't believe me then." She looked up to the staff table, and it looked like the Headmaster guy was ready to speak. "Yes, it DID actually happen. Kinda. Like, last year ... there was all this stuff that went on ... All the proffessors wants kept going missing, and this anti-werewolf group was formed in the students ... but all the students were under some kind of spell - they didn't know what they were doing, they didn't know that they were trying to harm the two Werewolves that were in the school." Iris looked to the staff table sadly, "However, there is only one werewolf in the school this time... It's a shame. Headmaster Bontecou was awesome." Iris looked back to Jimbo, to see how he was reacting to this. "And apparently, two Hufflepuffs got murdered ... I don't know who by or how, but I think it all got sorted out."

Iris looked up and down the width of the Slytherin table. Cartwright was here, so was Lucia... Wesley and Satine were probably at their tables ... But no Aaron ... Where is he? "You see that pretty blonde lady at the end of the table? She's called Professor Lupa. She's our head of house, and she's the other werewolf. Don't worry about her too much though. She watches out for our safety, possibly more than her own, during the full moons." Nice and cheerful news to learn on your first day at Hogwarts. That's always fun.

Iris looked up at the table as someone SNEEZED rather loudly. She saw one of the new teachers stood on a chair. She listened to him talk and couldn't help but laugh at how he'd addressed them. Seriously. Iris Beaumont DID NOT have a "Pie-Hole". That was a preposterous thought.

She looked at the Headmaster dude got up. Tate. Headmaster Tate. She'd have to remember that. He'd obviously gotten the other guy to shut them up, Obviously not a very good headmaster. Can't even make his own school shut up? Pathetic. She half heartedly listened to him talk, and the grinned at Jimbo as all the food appeared. "Heeeyyyy Jimbo, you can eat now." She said, as all of the food appeared. She was used to this now, but She was pretty sure that Jimbo didn't have materialising food at home. She piled some pizza and chips on to her plate. Not the healthiest of choices, but it tasted niiiice.

Iris looked up, to see a scary professor looking person looking at her from over Jimbo's shoulder, She stared at him for a minute, slightly shocked at his random appearance at the table, before squeaking, "Um ... Hello ... Professor. Is ... Um ... Everything ... OK?" Why was he staring at her like she was not worthy of being sat at the Slytherin table?

"Thanks you too." said Violet as she watched the food on the table "I'm not that hungry what about you?"

"That I let you win." he corrected her. It was quite boring." Who was he kidding? Parker was having fun, fun with a capital F! She better not find out about that. He was genuinely surprised she hadn't mentioned his niceness. He wouldn't let her have a chance to either..

"I know I'm right." Not that he knew how to cure depression or anything, Parker never was depressed. "I'm always right." He smirked, his proper attitude coming back. He would remind himself not to lose that ever again. "Why do you think you got sorted here?" He could tell her loads of reason why he was sitting here.

Kate, stuck between Art and Chaucer carrying on their own conversation, Kate scanned the table and saw a familiar face approaching the Slytherin table. Getting up, she headed towards him. "Warren, was it? Hi! How are you doing?"

Oh right , Evan had told him the name of their Head of House at the QWC but he had forgotten. He looked with curious eyes at the staff table and wondered which of the woman was the HoH.

Lavi placed his elbows on the table and kept staring at the chocolate, but he had already eaten a hand full and didn't wanted to look like someone who ate much.... He then proceeded to lean his head on his arms and layed like with his head on the table. He sighed a bit, having to go over his summer again so he just let the other Slytherin girl speak.

A few seconds later another Slytherin girl walked up to Evan and he began to wonder how many girls he had...not as much as Art, cause Art was a player. Gosh even the thought of having giggling girls around him made him feel..awkward. He would, for once , not know what to do and stutter or act stupid. More stupid than he normally would.

He listened as the younger girl told Evan there had been a mistake and that she wasn't a part Veela....what on earth is a Veela?! Lavi, who didn't like reading a BOOK at all had no idea what they were talking about and he raised an eyebrow at Evan. "Eeeh..what's a Veela?" he asked feeling completely stupid.



Then his eyes adjusted on an elder man. For a moment, Lavi thought it was weird that an older man would be at the Student's table. But then the realisation that he was just a professor came through and he felt..yet again, stupid. He watched as he stepped down off the dias and looked , disgusted perhaps? Why would anyone look disgusted?! ......Maybe he was just hungry! yea! that must be it! He was just looking like that because he was hungry and had to walk between the tables instead of eating the deliciouuus food that had appeared on the table after the Headmaster's speech..oh Lavi was so smart at reading people *ahem*

Eh, what to do..he noticed that the professor had walked towards their Greenie Table and was looking at the students as though even more disgusted. Lavi was a bit scared of him and he wondered what subject he would teach....wait! ..what did people at Diagon alley had told him?..something about a Kazomoriaz..or whatshisname? ..Was this that man? "Eh, Hello professor" he said, feeling a uncomfortable chill rush through him he couldn't explain but he still bowed his head in greeting and respect like his father had learned him to do while he still lived in Japan.

Waz looked up and saw Kate beside him, at least he wasn't alone now.. this was all good. ''Hey Kate, im er.. not too good.. but getting better thanks you?'' He looked down at his plate, he was still kinda shaken up over what had happened to his sister.. He couldn't help it.. he just cared for her..

Violet stood up and looked around for anyone else she knew then spotted Warren she said quickly to her friends that she'll be right back and ran next to Warren "Hi mind if i sit here?" said Violet pointing to the seat next to him

Warren turned to the otherside of him and saw Violet, he normally saw her at the table quite often. ''Sure Violet, how are you?'' he said in a still upset voice.. His speech was down, tired and not in the mood type.. though he had a reason and didn't mean to come across arogant. He looked back at the table.. still feeling mixed emotions about what happened on the train.

"Ok thanks" said Violet as she sat down she could tell something wrong in his voice maybe it happened in the summer... "How was your summer?"

"Well that's good that you're getting better..." He looked so sad! "You looked like you could use some company. What's gotten you down?"

"Very hungry" Marie said as she started putting food on her plate happy that they could finally eat. "I haven't eaten anything but chocolate frogs today. With everything that happened on the train today I didn't think to eat. You know, you should eat a little something, it is a long time until breakfast."
"Oh, okay, talk to you later." Marie heard her stomach make a funny little noise and started to eat.
Looking back at the staff table Marie still did not see Kazi anywhere. 'Yes, the headmaster has given his speech already and no Kazi, that must mean he's not coming back this term.' As she watched one of the new professors head over to their table she noticed that he did not seem like a friendly sort of guy. He looked like he was rather disgusted to even be at Hogwarts. 'Oh great, we get rid of Kazi and now we get this guy.' "Umm, hello professor, how are you liking Hogwarts so far?" Okay, so maybe that wasn't the greatest question to ask since classes hadn't even started yet, but at least she acknowledged the grumpy looking guy.

Waz smiled at her faintly.. ''Summer was good, had loads of quidditch matches.. spent alot time out with family and friends.. played lots football.. how was yours?'' It wasn't his summer that was the problem.. but he just couldn't get his sister out of his mind..

Waz looked down at his plate and then looked up at Kate, he looked at her blankly for a few seconds and then said ''My sister broke her ribs on the train.. she couldn't breathe for ages.. i had to carry her to the staff table.. im just still abit shaken up thats all'' He was just worried that it was worse than he had imagined.. her didn't want anything bad to happen to Alex.. he loved her soo much..

Violet raised an eyebrow when he said nothing happened over summer "Oh my summer was good my sister was soo happy to see me" said Violet then she could'nt help it anymore "ok whats wrong?"

"Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. I bet that was scary for both of you. It's good you were there for her, and I'm sure she'll be ok." That must have put a damper on his train ride here... Kate thought to herself. "I guess I don't need to ask how your train ride here was..." Kate trailed off. Handing Warren a piece of chocolate, she gave him a small smile. "Here, eat. Something about releasing endorphins...It'll help you feel a bit better. So what's your sister's name?"

Ella hesitantly moved toward the Slytherin table - there weren't many people she liked there - and cought sight of Violet. She hadn't seen that girl for so long. "VIII!"
