Amanda sighed slightly as she played with the ring on her right pinky finger, she just wanted to head to the common room so she could relax and get to work on designing her next guitar. But, she had to sit here and attempt to be social with her fellow housemates even though she wasn't really in the mood to.

Theo giggled, "Ok. I won't touch your mashed potato." He loved mashed potato but he also needed his hand. "I will get my own potato. And milk as well. I can't have pumpkin juice. But I have milk. And sometimes mummy puts chocolate or strawberry powder in it." He smiled at his friend, "Thank you, Mr Clifford."

"Its too bad he didnt teach you that spell." Aaron laughed, "We could have some fun with it."

"Oh don't get me wrong, muggle lifestyle isn't bad, it's just..." Aaron paused for a second, "It's just that I haven't been exposed to anything magical. Like candy, or Quidditch, or music. I had no idea what a chocolate frog was until a couple of hours ago."

Kevin sighed he wanted the feast to be over already his leg was aching him and he didnt have any painkillers with him to try to dull down the pain

Lettie blinked, "So being in Slytherin means that you can't be a goody gooddy?" She set her spoon down. Leticia always thought that she was very well behaved. She listened, was polite, took care of people. Wait..."How did I manage to get into this house?" Lettie spoke up and wondered aloud.

"That's nice." Leticia responded with a smile, "I never really had friends outside of my family. Mainly because I never ventured out by myself before. Wherever I went, my family came too, so I was always stuck with my cousins and stuff. It's nice being able to interact with people who don't know everything about you, and everyone else for that matter."

"Heh...heh...yeah." Lettie said and stuck a piece of apple into Ornlu's open mouth. "It was real fun. Especially when I was grounded for a while. I wasn't supposed to touch the potions stuff at all and I did anyway."

Lucas looked over to the girl on his right, she looked almost as ancie as him on getting out of here. "The feast always seems to drag on do you think?" He wispered quietly to her. "I swear every year it gets longer and longer.."

He wiped the hair out of his eyes, "I'm Lucas" before offering her his hand to shake.

"I'm working on it to learn that spell." Grace said. She laughed too. "Ah I see. Thank God my parents showed me everything magical when they told me. So guess you've never watched Quidditch, yes?"

Aaron frowned. "No, I've never seen Quidditch. But I really want to play! I got a book in Diagon Alley, Quidditch Through the Ages, and I learned everything about it. I can't wait for flying. I know I probably don't have a chance, but I'm going to try out for the team. I met the captain and she said she needed new blood on the team. So I thought, 'Heck, why not?' So what about you? Have you seen Quidditch within the year you've known about magic?"

"Oh I know, I just rather get back to the common room so I can relax." Amanda said with a slight smirk. Well that's the way it seemed, however not in her first year because of the way the schools were, she still looked back on those memories and cringed with utter disgust.

"Nice to meet you, the name's Amanda Lesalle, 4th year." She said, introducing herself rather formally as she shook his hand.

"Yeah, why not? You wont lose anything. Trust yourself a little bit!" Grace punched him on the shoulder. "My dad took me to some matches. It's incredible, you gotta watch live! I've tried flying too, it's not hard really. Following the ball is the key. I played with my cousins and they said 'You're not bad.' But I cant bear any injuries and I cant regain my balance quickly when Im hit, so I'll just watch this year. Maybe at third year or so..." She then sipped at the pumpkin juice.

"Ohhh, I really want to see it live. That's why I can't wait for the first match." Aaron took another swig of pumpkin juice. "I have never even tried flying ever. I have no experience. But I'm going to try out for the team anyway." Aaron laughed. "And imagine if I made it!"

Shaking his head, "No I say even in Slytherin you can be a goody-goody. But Aesa took it to an all new level. Everything she did, was to help others, which is good. But she never even thought about herself, ever. And it got to the point, that it seemed, actually she was doing it all for herself, to suck up to adults to get things. Because adults would give her everything."

"I think that will be some of the best parts about going to school for you. No one here knows anything about you, except what you tell them." he replies giving her a smile.

"Who, you?" he asks with laughter in his voice. "I couldn't picture you doing that. Though I know I would, if I had been told not to play with my potions stuff."

April nodded. "For the last few years, yeah. You learn to live with it really." She shrugged. Muggle primary schools were annoying but not the worst thing ever, at least she hadn't had to go to secondary school which she'd heard was far worse and could come to Hogwarts. "I suppose where you are matters too. I mean, I live in one of the po-- not as... good areas, I guess." April knew quite a lot about the muggle world, she'd been exposed to it a lot by her mother and travelling around a lot, more recently she'd learned what it was like to be a muggle kid. Kinda rubbish. "It's good to know the lessons won't be too hard." She said.

Grace knew Aaron didnt have much chance, but not because he hadnt flown, because he was a firstie. 'What the heck, there've always been exceptions.' she thought. If he was trusting himself without even flying before, he must've really had some ability. "It'd be amazing if you made it." Grace said, smiling. She then paused. She didnt want to sound arrogant, but her mouth had already spoken before she could hold. "Can the first years borrow broomsticks? If we are allowed to, we can try flying until the selection. I'm not a Quidditch master, not at all, but I can try showing some tricks of my cousins if you want."

"Are you okay?" a girl who was sitting a couple of seats to his right was staring at him with a concerned expression.

Perceiving, as the person between them stood, an opportunity to move closer, she saw, her eyes resting in the lower half of his body for a moment, he was tensing the muscles of his left thigh, "It's your leg, isn't it?" And after a pause, "How can I help?"

It was a good time to part the side of Ott and Miss Lettie as well. Their latest subject of conversation had... upset her. May she even bright other's attention away from that conversation. "One of my best friends is a werewolf actually." It was not a smart idea to disclose such secrets to, a fairly plain stranger and in a public area. It was possibly not in the best interest of Ott's friend.

Aaron smiled, he knew he had no chance. "Um... Yeah, i think we can borrow broomsticks from the school. Also, my friend Fallon's family is FULL of Quidditch players. She said she would help me, too. But if you want to have a fly around with us, too, that would be great! The more the merrier, right?"

Grace was angry with herself again. She'd have to deal with her "blurting out" habit. Aaron again answered nicely. This boy was surprising Grace moment by moment. "Yes, that'd be awesome!" she answered.

"So only for personal acheivement?" Lettie said, less like a question. "At least when I help people it's because I actually care. Wait...could I care about people and treat them well even without wanting something in return? Or is every good behavior or act of charity a hidden trait that exists so that we can gain something in the future, even if we first don't see it?" Now she was confusing herself, stupid philosophical stuff...too complicated.

"True." Lettie replied as she drew another face in her pudding, "I could lie too, make stuff up." She gave Ott a smirk. "Not that I would do that, I don't like being a liar." Stroking Ornlu's fur some more, Leticia looked over at her hand absentmindedly. If only she hadn't walked over and tried to be nice. That was her problem, being too nice to people.

She chuckled for a moment, "Well, it was more about me proving to my parents that I could actually do something myself. Which kind of backfired in the end I guess. What have you done to get your parents angry?"

Aaron smiled at Grace and took another drink of pumpkin juice. "Can you believe Hufflepuff and Gryffindor already lost house points?" Aaron laughed at the thought.

"Oh yeah, unbeliavable! I mean c'mon, it's the very first day! How could they manage to lose? Do you know?" Grace really couldn't understand the fantasy of losing points on the first day. Shooking her head, she took some candies out of her bag. She knew her allergy had just passed, but pumpkin juice couldnt hold her much. She promised herself she wouldn't eat very much as she did in the train. She then offered some to Aaron. "Take as many as you want."

"I know, right? I mean, how did they even LOSE them already?"

Aaron saw the candy in her bag and his stomach lurched. he was stuffed. "No, thanks. I'm full."

Kevin looked up at the girl and said "Yeah it is how did you guess and i am not sure how you can help me at all"

Iris smiled at grace, after realising that she hadn't said anything for quite some time, " I think they were being rude or something similar, that went against the school rules" she said.

"A guy from Gryffindor defied a teacher or something, I overheard while some people were talking. I dont know how Hufflepuff lost though." she said, right after Iris, confirming what she'd overheard.
Grace wished he'd taken. She knew herself quite well, she'd again overeat and her allergy'd go wild. Oh well. She'd have to depend on her will.
"How rude I am! Would you like too?" she said to Iris. Maybe she didnt have to depend on her will...

"Ooohhhh, okay." Aaron realized that Iris hadn't said anything for a while. She must have spaced out or something. Aaron was now getting bored. He wanted to go to the common room, already.
