Hayley watched as Willie walked towards the staff table, then turned to the boy who'd gone and tattle-taled. "We had that handled!" she said, motioning to the other girl who'd been trying to comfort Willie..."You didn't have to be a big meany and go tell!"

Lettie looked over at Ott, "You TATTLED on him?" Her jaw dropped slightly, "He was getting better, Ott, he wasn't even really screaming any more." Poor kid, now he's got to go to the staff table all by himself. Leticia was tempted to go up too, but a strong throb from her bruised hand sort of reminded her to stay put for a little while longer.

Theo watch Clifford and Eddie carefully. He didn't want his bat to die after all. Even if he didn't really understand the concept of death. He shrugged, "I don't know. I have never given him water. Or anything to drink. I think he gets it from the raisins." He nodded, "You can try it though." He wasn't sure what would happen. If Eddie didn't like it, he wouldn't drink it.

Hayley stared daggers of death at the big mean boy for a moment before turning to the girl who'd helped her try to help Willie..."Hi, I'm Hayley, I'm a first year herer....what happened to your hand?"

Nodding, Clifford rolled his sleeve up to his elbow and dipped his little finger into his goblet of pumpkin juice. Surely pumpkin juice was okay for bats? He hoped what he was about to do wouldn't make Theo's pet poorly.. and he hoped the bat didn't bite his finger off either. That would suck. "Here you go, pal," Clifford murmured quietly, holding his drippy finger over the bat's ickle mouth and holding his breath. EEEK!

Iris shook her head and laughed, " if we can get permission to do it, then I will herlp out, I've been brought up too well to even want to think about my parents faces if we did it and got caught." she said, giving Aaron a small smile.

She turned to Hayley and said, "I'm Lettie Dubois," The girl looked at the 'mea boy', "He's my friend, Ott. It's my first term here as well, but I'm starting as a fourth year." She smiled a bit before looking at her hand.
"Oh..." Lettie said, "It was broken a little while ago. The healer, Caroline, fixed it up for me though, it's just really bruised." She glanced up again, "Who was that boy anyway? Is he visiting someone?" Surely the boy wasn't old enough for school...right?

"Wha' who's teachin' dis term?" he asked, looking towards the staff table as well, trying to get a look at someone new.

"Yeh, Oi guess..." he said, understanding Raiden's meaning now... but still didn't really care. 'If they didn't like it, and undoubtedly they wouldn't, then they can deal with their own house members,' he thought, 'we shouldn't have to worry about them, too.'

Nearly falling off his chair when both Raiden and Pie did exactly that -- fall of their chairs, Jude instead jumped with a start and stared, wide-eyed at the source of Raiden's yellings -- a girl wearing a very bizarre outfit.

"Ermm..." he mumbled, not quite sure even what to say in this situation.
Jude blinked as the entire scene with Willie unfolded in front of him. He hadn't even noticed the small boy under the table, and yet this big lug had. How? That was still a mystery to him... "Jus' leav' 'im alone!" he hissed at the boy, "Go fin' someone yer own size ta pick upon." he said miserably. "Ya probleh jus' go' 'im in detetention o' sumfink loike dat..." he glared at the boy for a long, lingering moment, and glanced up to the staff table towards Willie. Poor child.

Theo watched. He wasn't sure. He hoped nothing would happen. Right pumpkin juice, should be fine. Right.

Eddie stuck out his long, thin tongue, and licked the new finger. Mmmm it tasted nice. He licked it again. Mmm why didn't the small boy give him this. Though raisins were good.

Following Willie back to the staff table, he wants to make sure he doesn't get into much trouble. Poor little guy... he thinks to himself.

"Nice to meet you, Lettie," she said, pointedly ignoring the 'Ott' fellow. "It's my first term here too...wait? How did your hand get broken?!"

"Uhm...that boy was Willie...he's a second year Hufflepuff, I believe," Hayley replied.

Dru was busy tackling the spagetti on her plate when she heard a familiar voice from slightly further down the table. She looked in that direction and saw Theo. Her mind went into a happiness overload as she called, "Hey Theo!"

As soon as she spoke, she realised that her friend was surrounded by many others and she had just managed to draw attention to herself. Well, let's hope they're nice

EEEE!!! A rather loud gigglesnort escaped when the fruit bat licked the pumpkin juice off his finger. COOL! "Look! He likes it!" Clifford exclaimed excitedly, watching the bat's long tongue flick around his little finger. It tickled like WHOA! "Here, you try it!" Wiping his gooey finger on his trousers, Clifford slid his goblet of pumpkin juice over to Theo, "it feels all funny and tickly. I'm sure he likes it!"

Lettie nodded to Ott, and watched him walk back up to the staff table. Hopefully, both of the boys wouldn't get into trouble. One for acting like a five year old, and the other for being a tattle tale.
"Umm..." She looked at it and gave the purplish hand a poke. "I went over to the Hufflepuff table a while ago and tried to start things off better with another student. He didn't want to apparently so he...crushed my hand." Leticia held up her swollen hand again and sighed, "Maybe Hufflepuffs aren't nice like I thought they were supposed to be."

Her hazel green eyes widened, "He's a second year?!" She exclaimed, completely unaware that she may be acting rude.

Theo beamed as he heard another voice, "Dru." He returned to looking at Eddie. "This is Eddie and Mr Clifford. He is Head Boy now. And he is one of my bestest friends."

"Mr Clifford this is Dru. I met her on the train. She is a nice girl, like Miss Evangeline and Lyra," he smiled, introducing them. He giggled as he watched Eddie lick Clifford. "He does like it. I think he would prefer it from you." He dipped his little finger the goblet, and held it over Eddie. His little tongue flicked out and licked off all the juice.

Theo giggled, "He is funny."

Walking back to the table, he sits back down next to Lettie. Putting his head in his hands, he just stares down at the table.

I never thought that would happen... he thinks feeling horrible.

Dru smiled timidly at the two others next to Theo. "Hey," she said shyly. "What's... um... what's that?" She asked, pointing to the creature they were feeding.

Not that there was anything wrong with animals, it was just that she was nosey.

"Hey, Dru." Clifford greeted with a little wave in the girl's direction when Theo introduced them. He didn't mind that Theo called him his BESTEST FRIEND. It was kinda funny. Teehee.

Not as funny as the bat licking the pumpkin juice off Theo's finger though. "He IS funny," the seventh year agreed with another gigglesnort. "He'll be wanting pumpkin juice all the time now. It might make him poop more though. What's his name?" He'd forgotten to ask!

"Why would someone crush your hand! That's just cruel...and mean...and and violent!" Hayley exclaimed, "No! Not all Hufflepuffs are mean! Willie is very nice! He just doesn't take well to an abundance of sugar!" Hayley didn't know Willie well, but she felt the need to stand up for him, regardless.

"Uh...yeah...he's a second year...why?" this girl was probably thinking the saaaame thing Hayley was...oh well..

"He's Eddie, my bat," Theo smiled. "We are feeding him pumpkin juice."

"I don't want him to poop more," Theo frowned, "Cos then I will get bat poop on my pillow. And that won't be nice." But he didn't mind feeding Eddie pumpkin juice though, "His name is Eddie."

Hayley watched Ott sit down, then glance up to the staff table. OH MY FLARB! "What happened to them!? This is all YOUR FAULT!" she cried, leaving the table to go help Willie...and dear Merlin! Jake was there too!

Dru looked confused at Theo and the much MUCH older boy. "Why you doing that for?" she asked. "Do bats even drink pumpkin juice?"

She looked down to get the last of her spagetti from her plate only to realise... she had eaten it all already. She glanced around the table to see what else she felt like eating and noticed some pasta near Theo's older friend.

"Um... excuse me mister," she said. "Um... can you pass the pasta please?"

"And then you might roll over and get bat poop all over your face," Clifford said, wrinkling his nose in disgust. That was gross. But Theo had to put up with LOTS of baby poop and he was sure that was far, far worse. "Eddie's only tiny though, so his poops must be tiny too."

They were talking about poops at the dinner table. Nice.

"He seems to like it," Clifford smiled at the younger girl with a shrug of his shoulders.. he guessed she was a firstie. At least, he didn't recall seeing her around last term.. and she was pretty small.

Mister?

"You can call me Clifford if you want.. but I guess Mister is good too," the Head Boy stated, sliding the large bowl of pasta down the table and in the direction of Dru.

Dru smiled widely as the older boy slid her the pasta down the table. "Thank you... Clifford," she said, testing out the sound of the name. Yup, she thought she could get used to talking to him.

She dragged the pasta bowl a little closer and stood up slightly in order to dish it out onto her plate. Once she had formed a small mound, she reached over and poured some cheese sauce over it all. It was only then that she sat back down and tucked into her cheesy pasta.

"They do now," Theo smiled, "I don't know if they are meant to. But Eddie does." He really should look that up. He decided to go to the library in the morning. To research if Eddie will die.

Theo giggled, "And then I will come and wipe it on your face while you are still sleeping. Or make him poop in your bed." That sounded like a good plan. If it happened though. Since it was Clifford's fault for making Eddie like pumpkin juice.

"Maybe you can't see his poops," he shrugged. He had never seen Eddie poop. Maybe he did it at night in the grounds. He would never know.
