Professor Blaylock paced the stone floor of her circular classroom as she waited for the students to arrive. It had been a long day and she couldn't wait to get it over with. Or at least, to hurry through this lesson so that she could continue the search for the girls.

Each circular table held three black pouches, one for each occupant of the table. Blaylock's own table in the centre of the classroom held a similar pouch and her customary cup of tea. It had probably gone cold now though, as she had not touched it in the past ten minutes.

OOC: Come in, take a seat and we'll begin the lesson soon.

Jezz raised her hand again, "It means deflection and prevention." she hoped she had the right definition.

Katelyn was writing furiously, and didnt look up until she was done all her writing. She cracked her knuckles, and rubbed her aching fingers. She put her quill down, and looked up at the professor, and folded her arms, waiting for someone to answer the question because she certainly wasnt going to.

Ponessa raised her hand. "Dosen't it also stand for the Bow and Defence? I'm not too sure..." she nervously searched for it in her notebook.

Ariana smiled not sure if she should riase he hadn or not. They needed the points, but she didn't want to be called a know-it-all, especially not from another professor. She sat back, already having these in her Ancient Runes notebook and waited for the next part of the lesson.

Natasha chuckled, "Yes, that it does, take another 2 points, Miss Higby." She waved the rune away as she went on, "When Ehwaz appears in a personal reading, it is often taken to mean that you have the means of support you need to achieve your goal. It also means that you must be humble as without this means of transportation...you would not achieve your goal quite as successfully."

She clapped her hands as she always did when she was about to make a new point, "Now...I believe I mentioned that we will be doing the Three Rune Cast for this first lesson? It's fairly simple..."

She drew 3 golden runes in the air, with arrows pointing from right to left, "You need to clear your mind and draw three runes from inside your pouch. Lay them down before you from right to left."

OOC: Darn, I forgot, to pick 3 runes randomly, go to this website and at the bottom of the page you'll see 24 links for the 24 runes. Just randomly select 3 runes.

Katelyn wrote down notes, and set her quill down. She picked up the pouch on her desk, and dug in it for the three runes she needed. She laid them in front of her, as Professor Blaylock had said, and closed her eyes, attempting to clear her mind. It wasnt exactly working though.

Clear my mind. Uh... Sure. I can do that. She knocked over her tower and stuffed them all back into the bag. Whende squeezed her eyes shut and tried to think about blank white paper. Then dug around in the bag.

But she went off and thought. Drat... maybe it would still turn out right. She drew out her three runes and laid them out. She didn't know which one was which. Just that they liked to annoy her.

Jezz tried not to think about anything as she pulled the runes out of the pouch. She placed them down right to left in front of her. They ended up in this order:Rado, Fehu, then Isa. She wasn't sure what it meant so she waited for the Professor to explain.

Belle nodded and bit her lip, clearing her mind. She drew three runes out from her bag and placed them on the table before her, from right to left. She looked down at the runes she had chosen. Fehu, Ihwaz and Mannaz.

Amelia reached her hand into the small bag and pulled out three runes. Her head hurt way too much for this task, but she copied them down regardless:

Tiwaz
Othila
Wunjo

She then waited for what to do with them next, even though she already had a vague idea.

Ariana closed her eyes willing the memory of that dream to leave for an hour so she could concentrate. When she felt her mind go blank she put her hand in the bag and pulled out, wunjo, Laguz, and Ingwaz. Scratching her head, she looked up at the professor and waited.

She looked up the first rune for Jezz, "The first rune represents your current situation. Raido represents a journey or arrivals, so from this reading we can assume that you are either about to take a long journey...or that you can anticipate the return of an old friend."

"Fehu, as your second drawn rune, represents the course of action you will need to take to get from your current situation to your desired outcome." She paused as she thought about it, "So what you need to do is to be generous. Be charitable and show compassion."

She picked up the final rune, "And so Isa here represents your final outcome. This means that after your actions, you will reach a period of non-action. This is a time for you to reflect on your past, your present and future...and from there, you will choose another path for your life."

She turned to the other students, "See? It's simple enough...why don't you just jot down the meanings of the runes you've cast and then we can call it a day."

Jezz smiled and wrote down what the Professor said. The first rune definately made sense. She had just been reacquainted with Antwone after years of not seeing each other. In her mind she wondered how precise runes were.

Belle wrote down the meanings of her runes and yawned.

Fehu - Reward, Wealth, Nourishment.
Ihwaz - Yew Tree, Archer's Bow, weapon, magic, deflection, prevention
Mannaz - Mankind, Human.

Belle shut her notebook and slid down in her seat a bit, not watching to be the first one out of the class.

Ariana looked down at her Runes and began to describe their meanings. She was utterly conmfused by them it didn't sound like anything she would expect not when she was feeling so...empty right now.

Sighing, she scratched her chin and began with wunzo the first Rune. Since the first Rune represents her current situation she wrote down :

Happiness, light, emotional satisfaction.

Wait, was this telling her to tell a professor about her dream? Should she? Shaking off the feeling of confusion she continued, with Laguz, which represented the action she must take.

Water, sea, ocean, river or lake. Cleansing, tide.

Ok, now Ariana was confused. Did this mean she had to tell a professor, or keep it quiet and have nothing happen? She could feel her anxiety rushing forwards and bit it back. Now, onto the last Rune, Ingwaz.

Harmony. Approval. Unity, agreement. Love. Peace.

Natasha noticed the students getting restless, and she understood perfectly. They'd been here for a while now, and the runes HAD to be getting tiring. Also...the class itself had been tiring. She couldn't quite recall what had happened after the hugging incident...but she had a feeling she had made quite a spectacle of herself.

"Alright, class, take down your homework assignment and then you may leave."

Ariana practically scribbled the homework onto a piece of ripped parchment and grabbed up her bag before getting up. She wouldn't tell anyone, it wasn't important. No she just had to forget about it, yes that's it. Smiling at professor Blaylock she said, "Thanks for an...interesting lesson!" and scooted down the ladder thinking to herself just a few more minutes.... She had to get out before she blurted it out.

Armand walked up as the class was being dismissed, offering a hand to her. He smiled softly to her, his eyes dancing with amusement and still carrying a hint of worry. "My dear, how are you feeling?"

Amelia looked over her runes again, a bit perplexed over how Othila would help her get to Wunjo. She didn't really want to think about it now though, as her head still ached. Instead, she was grateful that class was finally dismissed.

After copying down the homework into her notebook, Amelia crammed her books quickly into her bag and headed towards the door. "Bye Professor! Please be well, and er - watch that tea of yours" she winked and head out toward the dormitory for a quick nap.

Natasha waved goodbye to the students before she turned to Armand with a quizzical smile, "I'm just fine...rather thirsty, but that's nothing a spot of tea wont help." She picked up the teacup she had been drinking from before but before she could take a sip, something compelled her to put the cup back down.

"Why do you ask?"

He glanced down at the tea, then lifted it, taking a light smell of it. He raised a brow and handed it to her. "Other than the tea, what do you smell?"

Natasha shot him a strange look as if asking what he was on about, but she leaned forward and sniffed the teacup gingerly, "Well...tea, of course." She smiled, "And...well, books?"

She shot him another questioning look before taking another, more careful, sniff, "I smell earth. That is the oddest thing! And, and-" She sniffed again, "I think I smell baby powder and your shampoo."
