Behind the counter is one of the most approachable people in Diagon Alley. Feel free to walk up to the counter and order anything off the menu.
When ordering at the Leaky Cauldron, the staff will fill your order as quickly as possible. However, if you want to order food the wait may be slightly longer. So feel free to, after having placed your order, take a seat in any of the appropriate areas. Once your food is ready, it will be delivered to you.
The owner has kept the menu widely the same since he took over the shop— however he does like to offer samples of new experimental recipes as they are available. The owner has a fondness for the sweet stuff, and his specialty has always been double chocolate brownies which have been added to the menu. Sphinx Snacks are cookies that come with their own individual riddle. If you are finding yourself unable to answer the Riddle of the Sphinx Snack, just eat it and the answer will magically pop into your head. The Gingerbread Men are a lively bunch that will argue with you as to why they shouldn't be eaten, so do be careful when ordering them and make sure that they do not try to run away and fall off the counter. No one is fond of picking up cookie men remains. Arguably the biggest hit with customers is the Dementor's Kiss Delight; a tooth-rottingly rich chocolate cake that comes with your choice of hot beverage for an additional 5 sickles.
The drinks have also stayed largely the same. Exploding Lemonade may be hazardous to your health and should be drunken with extreme caution. Vampire Venom is a drink not for the faint of heart and the Leaky Cauldron is not responsible for any fire breathing that may occur due to the intense spiciness of the drink. Perhaps what you may find the most shocking drink on the menu is not what it appears to be, but instead is a lovely blend of orange, snowberries, lychee, cranberry.
To order at the Leaky Cauldron, come up to the station and tell the staff what you want. Paying is key and mandatory, plus tips are always accepted.
Be mindful that certain beverages are only available to adult witches and wizards and there are NO exceptions to this.

Archie Ackerly hadn't ventured to Diagon Alley in a very long time. His life was now mainly centred around the non magical world – his ex wife was a muggle, his two kids being brought up in London, and his career in a law firm, currently crammed into a tiny office (which he was sure had formerly been a broom cupboard), was based in Canary Wharf.
It felt good to be back on the streets of Diagon. Memories of shopping for school supplies and causing mischief with his fellow Slytherin brother, came flooding back to him. And the smell of the Leaky Cauldron as he and his former best friend (now partner) entered, only served to intensify the nostalgia.
“Definitely Firewhiskey.” He replied to Angus as they approached the bar. “How could I come back to Diagon Alley and not sample it's finest.” He looked around for somewhere to sit, thankful that the Hogwarts horde was now safely back at the castle. “Prop up the bar or table by the window?”

Angus’s life had been pretty muggle-centric too for a while now. With the relocation to the US to perform with a contemporary company, it was the nagging feeling as if he was missing out on something that had brought him back. It was a chance meeting that had led him to reconcile with the ‘one that got away’ and it was the strange sense of nostalgia that being back with Arch produced that had resulted in their appearance in Diagon that day.
The former Ravenclaw hadn’t been so involved in the antics of Archie and his brother Alfie back in the day, he was more of an encouragement on the sidelines, a completely laid back he was almost horizontal guy who could go along with almost everything. It was hard to compete with an Ackerly when there were so many of them and each equally as talented as the other. Getting on the end of their Dad’s tether was perhaps their best talent as far as the aforementioned duo was concerned, Angus couldn’t help but to be impressed that the patriarch still had his head firmly screwed on.
He was pretty sure of what the answer to his question would be but Archie had matured over the years they’d been apart that the outcome might have been different. Kids changed a person and everything. “I thought as much” The corner of his lips twitched up into a knowing smile as he ordered the drinks from the barman. “But you could’ve got a taste for Butterbeer at some point or.. Vampire Venom whatever the heck that is” His nose slightly screwed up as he read from the menu. Magical folk did seem to have strange taste palettes sometimes.
“We can sit over there” He nodded his head towards the window. It was nice and quiet now the sprogs had gone back to school.
It wasn't even planned really, but drifting back to Diagon Alley seemed like the most natural thing in the world to Archie after that chance meeting with Angus in a London pub, merely for old times sake. He felt like being here had reawakened something he had lost when he left his magical life behind to pursue a career in Law. A career that led to him meeting his wife..
Before that fateful night, years had passed since Angus and Archie had seen each other. It hadn't been a good meeting – bad memories had resurfaced and too many questions raised about their past. But in the end, love had prevailed and the pair were once again as thick as thieves.
There was a lightness to Archie that he hadn't felt in years. His expression was brighter, his eyes had the twinkle not seen since his teenage years. And although his reconciliation with Angus had raised more than a few eyebrows within his close family, things had just felt right. It felt so good to be with the tall, lanky Welshman once again.
“Butterbeer? I've not had that in years. I never really liked it.” Too sickly for Archie's tastes. He looked through the menu. “It doesn't even say what's in that—I'd rather know what I'm drinking, mate.” He patted Angus on the shoulder. “Feeling daring enough to give it a go?” He thanked the barman and picked up his drink, taking it and settling into a seat by the window.

This lanky Welshman was more than happy to be back spending time with the present company. Albeit more weathered with a patchy history, a couple of kids and remarkably less troublesome. That wasn’t to say that Angus had become boring but a tad more sensible with himself, a far cry from the teen he used to be. Perhaps the split had done them some good, the relationship strangely felt more natural.
“I thought Scarlett might have had some influence on you.” Angus was thankfully not a parent himself so he wasn’t sure about the exact logistics of how influential daughters were but from what he had seen of the little spoilt toddler, she did seem to enjoy getting her own way. “Don’t Dad’s become soft after they’ve had a girl?” The corner of his mouth twitched up into a familiar smirk.
Vampire venom had absolutely no appeal and from what he could assume would be some red based drink hopefully not containing real blood (although this WAS the Wizarding World and nothing could truly be much of a surprise anymore). “I’m no Gryffindor” he twitched his nose. Bravery to the point of recklessness was no longer on his agenda. Instead he ordered a Firewhiskey for himself and settled over by the window.
“Weirdly not. I think it’s because this place has barely changed since we’ve been away.” A few pieces of decor here and there maybe and a face or two had most definitely disappeared and new ones popped up in their place but generally Diagon Alley was as historically the same as it had always been.
Archie got settled in at the table by the window, his eyes meeting Angus's. The light from the window smoothed out any fine lines that had formed on his face over the years and the young man he used to know was currently looking back at him.
An amused smile briefly danced across Archie's face - Angus had a valid point. Having a daughter with penchant for sickly sweet flavours had expanded Archie Ackerly's palate. What he bought for the kids, he ended up sampling himself. “Let's be honest, mate, Scarlett influences everyone around her.” Scarlett was persuasive and strong willed with a large pinch of spoilt. What the girl wanted, she usually got from her dad. All down to Archie's feelings of guilt after the divorce from her mother. He knew it, but he couldn't help it. Soft? Yes. Most definitely.
“Ah no, but is the Ravenclaw in you not curious to give it a go? Try and decipher the ingredients?” Gryffindor, Ravenclaw.. Archie was neither. Even the Slytherin in him was not ambitious enough to drink something called Vampire Venom without knowing all the ingredients. For all he knew it might transfigure him into a bat.
It was true that the Leaky Cauldron still looked the same as when they were at Hogwarts. It even smelled the same. The nostalgia in the air was palpable. “It's making me feel all kinds of weird.” He admitted, taking a sip of his drink. “The place hasn't changed, but we have. It's like walking back in time.” Which wasn't a bad thing at all.

Speak for yourself, Arthur. Angus was quite proud of the fact that he hadn’t changed that much physically since school. Maybe the odd laughter line but he couldn’t help that he was smiley and his skin was punishing him for being generally positive. He took the seat opposite, placing the drink on the table before him. “Stop gazing, you sap” he chuckled.
From what Angus had experienced, Scarlett was a miniature firecracker with the innate ability to constantly get her own way. “Probably because her Dad lets her get away with it” he smirked. He couldn’t blame him though, he wasn’t a dad himself and didn’t know how he’d respond to having one of his own.
“Absolutely not. Ravenclaw’s aren’t stupid with their curiosity” he laughed. “We’d just ask the bartender what was in the drink rather than figuring it out.” Y’know, the simplest, most effective way. Intelligent enough to not make life harder for himself with a touch of laziness.
Angus wasn’t sure how it was that it was making him feel. The strong sense of nostalgia coupled with who it was he was with was making him feel all sorts of emotions. He wasn’t the type to outwardly show them however, he preferred to mask them with his humour. “Do you really think we have changed that much inside?”
