Important meeting.

Those words were going over in Olivia's head as she made her way down the corridor, after depositing her bag and other things in the office. Brian didn't usually call meetings, unless it was to plan things. Maybe something was up...

Straightening herself out, she pushed open the door and entered. "Ohhh," Olivia stopped in her tracks as she spotted the man Chris had been speaking to in the office the day before. "Hello. I didn't know anyone else was in here, have you been waiting long?" She smiled at him, slightly quizzically, before walking over and taking her seat near to the top of the table, next to where Brian would be, and opposite Chris'. Just the two of them for now it seemed.

Hmmm.

His fingers became entwined as he waited. He didn't mind waiting, in fact it was nice to have a minute of silence to gather his thoughts. But his eyes never closed, constantly looking over the room, the entrances and the exits to ensure he knew his surroundings. However, a few minutes later than that a female walked into the room and seemed to be shocked hat someone was actually in the room.

"Not long Ma'am. Five... ten minutes maximum." Jaxton said with a nod as he slid to his feet as she walked through the room. It was all out of respect. As she took her seat, he too sat down and smiled gently. "My name is Jaxton Tanner, Ma'am. Magical Security." Me said with a nod as he waited for her introduction.

The black cat entered the room and walked around to Brian and then hopped into the chair next to Brian. The cat looked around at everyone who was at the meeting.

Daria rushed down the long hall and into the Conference Room. She'd made it with about five minutes to spare. Smiling, she looked around the room. There were only two people so far... and a cat; but she'd seen the cat before and new him to be an amimagi. Nodding to the man and woman, she leaned forward and whispered, "Good afternoon, Wyatt. Haven't seen much of you lately." Daria laughed, as the sleek, black cat blinked at her. Quickly, she drew out a chair and sat down... waiting for the meeting to begin.

Oh, so polite. Did he just actually stand up when she walked across the room? That was new. Olivia hadn't had a gentleman do that for her before. "Oh good, not too long then. We should be getting underway sometime soon, I think." She gave him a warm smile as she shifted in her seat, taking a couple of quick glances at her watch as he introduced himself.

"Nice to properly meet you, Mr Tanner. I noticed you talking to Chris in the office yesterday. I'm Olivia Hawthorne," she stood up slightly and stretched a hand out to offer to shake his. She always did that when first meeting someone. Her parents had taught her to be polite. "Division Head of Maintenance.... And please, don't call me ma'am, that's very formal. I much prefer Olivia." She grinned, and nodded, before turning her head slightly at the sound of the door again.

A cat? Must be Wyatt Potter. Olivia had seen him about, and heard he was an Animagi. She gave him a nod as she sat back down, then a cheerful smile to the woman that walked in afterwards. "Good morning to you both."

Oh. Was he late? Quill wasn't sure. He was usually late but it wasn't like it was on purpose! It wasn't his style or anything. It was just because the man did not own a watch.

Walking into the conference room he could feel his cheeks becoming warm. "Sorry if I'm late. Didn't know when the meeting started." He said as he took a seat.

Chris smiled gently upon entering the room. He just hoped that he wasn't late but not seeing Brian around just yet was a perfect indication of him being actually punctual. So there were many employees in the conference room already? And that was just simply awesome. Of that he was happy and quite worth the smile.

He nodded at some employees and walked his way to his seat. He checked his wristwatch. Brian will be here soon, he silently thought to himself.

Brian was there, just in time. His hands were busy, holding a file and his precious wand. Smiling at everyone inside the conference room he stood behind his chair in front of the big blue center table. Blue is electrifying, always.

He put the file on the table gently, looking at them, "Morning Everyone! It's so good to meet you all in one place again." he nodded his head as re-assured his own words. After the Quidditch World Cup, he had not seen them all at-a-time.

The black cat changed from the cat form and into Wyatt. Wyatt sat next to Brian almost all the time being one of people that talks to Brian a lot. Wyatt watched as both Chris and Brian entered the conference room. Wyatt did not say a thing and just watched and listened to everything that happened.

Jamie slipped into the room, she was late, very late. Well she couldn't help it, being lost. Well. She looked around the room as she stood by the door, it was full with people, some she saw in her department, other's she hadn't. Smiling at some as she passed she made her way to a chair near the back to slip into.

Looking around yet again, giving smiles here and there, she waited for the meeting to start.

There was no response for long. He wondered what happened to everyone? Did they already got bored? Ah!

He cleared his throat and taking a slow walk around the room, "I guess you're all charmed by me." he started his talks jovially with a smile across his face, hoped everyone would get back their attention towards him. "So..I'm coming to the point now," he said, playing with his wand which was looked like a toy in his strong hands. "What do you guys think about our current security system? Maintenance staffs also can answer to this one." he nodded his head approvingly as he took a halt at the other corner of that oval shaped table.

Their current security system? What was that exactly? Quill was sort of confused. He didn't even really understand what was in place....apparently it was working though? Buut...something could always be improved. He raised his hand lazily, still used to the habit due to school. "It's alright I think, but I guess it can be improved. Things can always be changed to make them better."

Olivia had given a broad smile to everyone as they entered. She liked to see them all here, it gave her a better idea of how many people there actually were.

Shifting in her seat, she greeted Brian with a cheery "Good morning!" in response to his own welcome, and set about listening to what he had to say. Security? Ohh well, okay. Not her area of expertise, but he did say they could chime in if they wanted.

And Quill did.

Olivia nodded her agreement with his comment. "Yes, I can't see anything wrong with what the division is doing, really, I always see a guard when I come in - and spot them on my own cleaning rounds. I suppose not having enough people to implement all the plans you want might be a problem?" Some thing she was all too familiar with in her own division. Sigh.

Ah..he got some response finally. Quill and Olivia. Good going!

Brian nodded his head and continued his slow walk around the table "Yes, our current system is doing good, no flaws so far. And shortage of employees in our security department is one of our problems but besides that the division suffers from lack of commitment." he paused and looking at their faces one by one calmly, "Ministry is recruiting people into our dept often, so the manpower will not be a big problem for us."

It was true. He'd been meeting a new face once in a week approximately. Now its time to make people work interestedly. "So..I thought it would be appropriate to ask you all to give suggestion for improving the work skills. What do you think guys?" he asked through his soft yet determined voice.

Gill was sitting in one corner of the room and listened to each and every discussion going on in the room, he was a silent guy he only liked to speak when needed, but was good to talk to. People liked his company. As he saw the Department head speaking about new plans for improving the work skill, h too thought to put forward his suggestions and said "Hi! i'm Gill McGuire, as for improving the work skills, i think we should have some more activities going on in the department." He said and looked at the department head.

Olivia nodded in response to Brian's answer. So lack of people wasn't the problem, it was the commitment? Hmmm, what COULD they do about that? People should be committed when they get a job, otherwise what was the point? You wouldn't have it for very long.

She sat pondering the question, scratching her chin absent-mindedly. "Perhaps some kind of activities, yes," she nodded and gestured over the the man who had just spoken. "Something with which they could hone their skills when not on rounds? Or maybe an additional reward as well as the monthly worker ones?" The more Olivia spoke, the more she thought her ideas sounded awful. Ohh well, they were out there now.

Brian nodded at them. Two different opinions. Nice to hear. Something is better than nothing.

"Yeah, I agree with you two. More activities and some kind of reward for their hard-work, Yes." he shifted his arms, across his chest, "What about others? Any more ideas?" he was expecting them to speak, to tell him what they wanted, expected inside the office and during the work. Come..on.

Quill yawned and leaned back in his chair. Wow this was a silent meeting. It was quite and it was like- HEY more ideas? "What about punishment's for people who don't do as much work. Like cleaning the toilet's or something." Yeah he was joking. Of course. "But seriously. Why do we need to reward people for doing work that they are already suppose to be doing?" He was oddly confused.

" I agree." Nils said." I mean they're supposed to be doing it. How about rather rewarding those workers who go the extra mile. A Toilet cleaning- I think if that were a punishment, many would use their wands to get through it the easy way." He laughed. People looked at him, with wide eyes. Nils was new to the ministry and was trying to get his name heard, though, this meeting was not working out for him. He huddled into the back of the room, trying to look invisible in the crowd of workers

A big unknown barn owl zoomed inside the conference room with a loud screech to get everyone's attention. Before anyone could realise what was going on, the bird dropped a scarlet enevelope on the table just in front of Brian before zoomed out of the window like a lightning.





Ooc: Feel free to RP about this howler

Olivia had just raised her finger to make a point about something a new man had bought up, when an owl suddenly appeared in the room. Jumping in her seat, she moved back as it flew past her, screeching, and dropped something infront of Brian.

Ohh no. Oh no no no. It was red. The envelope was red. That could mean only one thing. Sinking back into her chair, Olivia eyed everyone around her. She was going to be close when Brian opened it. This was going to be bad.... and loud.

Jamie had sat silently listening to everyone talking. It was her first day, and she didn't really know the department to comment herself so she hadn't. Jamie bit her bottom lip as she thought, wouldn't hurt to try right? She asked herself. But before she could utter a single word a howler appeared making her jump. She stared at it hard, waiting for it to speak.

Nils jumped with a startle.The howler floated up in front of his face. How embarrasing.Nils watched in horror as the howler searched the room for it's victim. He stopped at him, momentarily , then continued on in the conference room.On, and on it went until it halted at the Head of Department...

Discussion continued.

When Brian was about to respond to his staffs again, he noticed the owl and the red envelope on its beak. Howler. Oh..right.

Moving forward to where the evelope was lying on the table, he took it, glancing the envelope thoroughly. The seal, it was unidentified, not so clear and no from address nothing else. Fine. The cool head was not confused or scared, but opened the envelope curiously.

It jumped out of his hand in next second, started talking in a menacing voice, right in front of Brian's face a few inches away...

FAMOUS ATRIUM *laughs* GOING TOBE IN FLAMES

"OH. MY. MERLIN!" Olivia practically shouted the words as she heard what the howler was saying. Her eyes went wide, and she gripped the arms of her chair. The Atrium?! In flames?! This... this was not good. But WHO was that? She didn't recognise the voice...

"Mr Lee?" She turned her head to look at her boss, slight nervousness showing in her eyes. "I don't know that voice, sir, do you? This must be some sort of joke. A not very funny one." Keep calm, Olivia. Your workers need to see you calm. Yes. She took a few deep breaths and released her grip in the chair, resting her hands on her lap now. If this wasn't a joke, security would definitely need to be stepped up. And repairs needed. NO. It wouldn't happen. Their department was too good to let someone in to do that.
