Gideon absently nodded as she echoed her agreement. Nice...quest....peaceful...only them. All those words described the garden at the moment which was very much a positive thing. "Aye...I have," he answered, glancing briefly down at their intertwined hands as he felt her wiggling fingers against his own. No point in adding the unspoken addition that he could have done without what had happened back at the house with her father...it was likely a mutual feeling.

Gideon looked back up at her and caught Selina's eyes within his own gaze, his peripherary flittering to see any other movement before he relaxed. They were along again to enjoy each other's company for the first day in weeks since summer began. "Now where were we?" he mused pretending to go for her waist as if to tickle her but instead slipping his arms around her and leaning down to kiss her softly on the lips.

Yep...as good a place as any to begin again.

"Oh you have?" She chuckled. At least he was enjoying himself, although it was an unspoken truth that the pair of them were not fond of her father's interruption. However, it seemed that her father's altercation was behind them now as his green eyes flickered down to their intertwined fingers. The sixteen year old Gryffindor rather liked the feeling of her boyfriend's fingers laced with her own. There was something familiar and comforting about the small act of closeness. Especially because Selina and Gideon had worked for every part of their relationship that they now had. Unlike a lot of the other couples in their school, they did not rush into the relationship and flaunted it around like some flashy piece of jewelry. They took their time, once they were in their relationship, doing every important milestone at an even pace. Gideon and Selina both knew that they had time in their relationship... so now that they were both comfortable enough with one another to do something as hold each other's hands made her smile. She remembered how they both used to shy away from hand holding when they first started dating.

Everything was going very smoothly until Gideon got a glint in his clear, green eyes. After dating Gideon for two years, she knew what that look meant- it was the tickle look. The redhead flinched for the impact of the tickle, but it never came. Instead she felt a pair of lips softly brush her own. For a second, her eyes shot open at the contact, but then she smiled into his kiss. Selfishly, she was glad that he leaned down to kiss her, he was getting too tall for her.

After a few seconds of returning his kiss, she pulled her lips away from his own and leaned her head against his forehead, "Well that was a surprise... not that I'm complaining."

"Aye I have," Gideon repeated though the chuckling was proof enough that Selina probably hadn't needed him to do so. She understood already. The continued hold of each others hand, while a simple gesture for most especially couples, held a meaning all its own for them. It showed how far they had come from friends just playing around to a genuine all-out boyfriend and girlfriend relationship. Moving his thumb absently he started to lightly rub the top of Selina's hand as they still stood in relative quietness.

Gideon could see Selina's reaction to his deception, believing him to be preparing to restart their previous tickle fight. It might have been the way he could have thought of going originally but the prefect had been caught up in another matter entirely. He had tried his best to keep his expression as neutral as he could however to keep her guessing until their lips were locked together in a kiss so she might believe what he wanted her to believe until the moment was right. Then a smile blossomed onto his face as he felt her return the kiss from her own end until she broke the kiss once more.

"Good...because if ye did, I might just have to make ye see reason. And I would have hated to have had to do that."

If Selina were not currently wrapped up in her boyfriend's arms, which had adversely trapped her own arms tightly against his chest so she could not move them, she would have swatted his chest playfully at his witty comment. It was so typical of her boyfriend in moments like these to throw on his signature smirk that she was certain was specially for her and say something clever. And almost every time that he did this her cheeks would slightly redden and she would feel the impulse to smack him or something. This time was no different. Her cheeks were already starting to redden and she wanted to desperately smack his chest.

Instead of smacking his chest, because she could not, the redhead opted for an eye roll. "Oh really," she lightly laughed, "You would have hated that? Well then I'm glad that you got that one final kiss in, sir, because I would surely not like to make you don't anything you hate to do." Now it was her turn to smirk at him. When she had first started to talk she had no idea how she was going to respond, but as she went along she found her words. And her words were just as clever as his own.

Check mate.

...Although she had not been joking when she said earlier that she did not mind him kissing her. They were not the most affectionate of couples, most likely because they had such a slow start to their own relationship, but it did not mean that he nor she did not enjoy affection. The pair of them just had half a mind to keep their affection between themselves and not display it like a freak show to half of the school like most of the first years as of late had become accustomed to, which she still did not understand.

Gideon knew he was playing hard ball with his girlfriend, no doubt riling up Selina by his smirkish behavior. The embrace he held her in giving him the added benefit of protection against her. She hadn't been kidding in their conversation while still at school that she could get violent towards him. Well not so much violent persey as in hurting him in any way but more physical especially with her arms. It was one of the reasons he was glad Selina didn't seem the type to use her beater's bat towards him...unless of course he did the unthinkable and hurt her beyond belief.

Final kiss...

That sounded like he was gonna be cut off from any further action of that kind. Gideon starred at her as if trying to make any more sense out of her words, his head tilted unconsciously to the side as he was known to do when thinking things through. Was there a hidden meaning there or no? "Aye....I would have hated tickling and kissing ye into submission," he remarked, lightly resting his chin on her head. "... because it would likely take a lot of work and I'd rather enjoy those moments."

Take that Miss Skylar!

Her words, which had seemed to momentarily throw Gideon off of his game, had put her in the lead in their little verbal sparring war that had been going on ever since he arrived. Although she knew that he was aware that she could never act on her threat, it was still entertaining to see Gideon process her warning. For a brief moment, he looked as if he actually thought that she was serious, which was an extra boost to her growing smirk. She was now winning this brief battle hand over fist and she could not even use her usual tactics of small spouts of violence to enhance her victory.

But just as soon as she began to celebrate her victory in her head, Gideon turned their small little battle one-hundred and eighty degrees around so now he was in the lead. His words, which were a quick, witty response to her own, completely negated everything the redhead had just said. She actually could not formulate a response to what he had just said because she was too busy blushing at his words. That was the first time he had ever openly admitted that he liked kissing her and for some odd reason, she was blushing mad like a first year with her blue eyes glued to the floor. She was too embarrassed to meet his eyes, but it was a good kind of embarrassed. The kind where her stomach filled with nervous butterflies and her face turned the shade of her hair.

After a few seconds of trying to formulate the proper response, she fumbled, "Oh.. okay then... well. Merlin Gideon! I was winning and then you go and say something like that! Something so sweet and nice that I have no response except..." She leaned up and kissed his cheek, "That."

He had straightened up as he had spoken, now looking back down at his girlfriend as she in turn dealt with his own words much like he had hers. They were certainly evenly matched today as they were managing to stay on par with each other. Until his final remark that is seeing as it was clear Selina was taken aback by it even moreso than the reference to his final kiss that had gotten him pausing to think.

Gideon tried to keep a straight face but when Selina exclaimed with Merlin in mind as to his actions, he couldn't help but give in to his laughter. Her words were so very true and not entirely unexpected in one form or another but it was the way she said them. The girl showing asasperation at him for what he had done to win the so-called 'round.'

"No competition...I can concede the win to ye if ye want." He had been rather sneaky in his attempt and one might have considered it cheating or at least pushing the envelope. Besides as competative as they were with eahc other, nothing was worth their happiness together and Gideon was just enjoying the simply things. Like the kiss she had just graced his cheek with.

It was not until after Selina had completed her train of thought did she realize how that must have sounded aloud. In her head, she thought that she, although admittedly flustered, had handled her words carefully in response to him, but obviously she had not. She did not even recognize how ridiculous that must have sounded until her boyfriend started to laugh at her befuddled response. However, instead of being offended at his laugh, she thought it was sort of funny as well. Looking back on her words she sounded so silly, so she broke into a smile of her own and joined his laughter.

When he nobly offered to give up his obvious win to the redhead in front of him, however, she did not accept. How could she with a clean conscience take his win that he had so masterfully earned? Besides, she liked being outwitted. There were very few people who could out talk or out wit Selina and Gideon was one of them. His small little quips always kept her on her toes and she liked the fact that, with Gideon, she never knew what he was going to say next. One minute he could be blushing like mad and staring at the floor and the next he could be wrapping her up in his arms rather unexpectedly and kissing her senseless. Or he could be doing something completely random. It was nice sort of not knowing with him.

"No thank you, good sir," she jested, "You can keep your win. You earned it fair and square. Although next time," she said with a smirk, "if you want to kiss me, you can just ask." The fake tickling technique was clever and his follow up responses after the kiss were equally as clever. He had outwitted her... he could have his win. She did not mind, mostly because she knew that she could get him back later. She had a tickle spot of his own that she could exploit now.

That was one of the things that Gideon liked about Selina...her sense of humor and the ability to laugh at herself. Which was what she did when she must have realized just how ....weird and awkward she had sounded in her reaction to his kiss. It was also in his favor since that meant she joined him in his laughter rather then being mad or punishing him for laughing at his girlfriend.

Gideon surely didn't want to make things return to their awkward state after Selina's father by getting her upset in some way. Which given her temper could happen at even the randomist times if he pushed something too far. But again they had matched each other wit against wit and it was a friendly banter between them so no hard feelings.

"Aye very well." He would accept the win as it was agreed upon, it was the honrable thing to do especially as Selina willingly gave it to him after getting it fair and square. Gideon moved to lean down to kiss her when he stopped short at the rest of her words about just that...them kissing. "Oh...I have to ask now?" he questioned with raised eyebrow as he loosened his hold and held her lightly at arm's length and looking into her eyes. "Well then m'lady...may I have a kiss?"

She could not help but chew on her bottom lip when Gideon leaned in to give her another kiss. He was being quite forward today, wasn't he? What had gotten into him this summer- not that she was minding at all. It was just that he was making her blush more than usual and for the fiesty redhead getting her to blush at all was a feat. Gideon was now onto his third time making her blush today and they had only really been together for a half hour or so now.

Although, he shocked her again when he pulled away at the last minute asking her a question. Oh, I have to ask now? Well, she supposed that was what she HAD inferred, but it was more an expression than an actual practice. However, in his own way of interpreting what she had said, he had given her the perfect opening. An evil opening.

A smirk grazed her lips as she felt him pull away just slightly so his hands were lightly holding her arms at arms length. Why, oh, why, Mr. Gert, would you ask that question? It was only going to end badly.

In an attempt to trick him, she smiled and leaned up on her toes to kiss him. But just before she reached his lips, she hovered there for a moment, and whispered, "No, you may not. Thank you for asking though." It was his fault for asking...
