Vianna nodded her head slightly at Ferris as the boy announced he was going to find a vet. She then returned her gaze to Fluffy, now holding him in one hand to pet him with the other. She couldn't take the thought that her poor, innocent squirrel was now not only in terrible pain, but he looked like he might just stop breathing any second too. Vince watched Ferris head over to the phone before returning his gaze to his sister. He felt somewhat guilty about it all now. "Look, I'm sure if you just squeeze it tight enough, it'll just spit the key back out and he'll be fin--" But he stopped abruptly as Vianna looked up with the most deadly of glares. Vince took a step back and saw this as his cue to disappear from the scene before the girl hexed him. "Well, uh-- let me know when you've got that key ready, alright?" he said with a nervous chuckle before nearly sprinting back to his own room. Vianna watched him go and proceeded to sit on the couch, now letting Fluffy rest on her lap as she continued caressing his soft brown fur. |
"Merci, Merci," Ferris finished his conversation on the phone after a few minutes. He turned around to see Vianna solemnly petting her squirrel on the couch, watching her sadly for a moment before speaking. "I got a vet, he should be here any second. I told him it was urgent so he's apparating over," he told her, letting out a small sigh as he looked at the ill squirrel. He took a seat next to the girl, watching the squirrel on her lap with a saddened look in his eye. About a minute later, there was a knock at the door which Ferris quickly answered, giving a polite smile to the vet before leading him over to Fluffy. Ferris quickly explained in French that the squirrel had swallowed a hotel key, and the vet proceeded to take a look at the squirrel. OOC: Feel free to take care of the vet, Fluffy's Vianna's lol. |
Vianna looked up at Ferris as he let her know the vet would be arriving at any second through apparation. "Thanks," she said softly before returning her gaze to Fluffy who was now closing his eyes; but he then opened them again as a knock came to the door and the vet arrived now carefully taking the squirrel into his own hands to examine it. The man gave the two teenagers a strange look as Ferris explained Fluffy had eaten a key, but made no comment about it. Vianna watched the man curiously and anxiously as he examined her pet before announcing that the only way to get the key out of the squirrel's system was through surgery. In French, of course. Vianna turned to Ferris. "What did he say?" |
Ferris listened anxiously to the vet who was now examining the squirrel, his eyes widening slightly at his words. His eyes a little wide, he cleared his throat and tried to put on a composed face for Vianna, turning back to her, "Well...He-He says the only way to get the key out of Fluffy is through surgery," he translated for her with a slight frown. |
Vianna's eyes widened and she returned her gaze to the vet with Fluffy now in his hands. "But--but--" But she had nothing to say. There wasn't really anything she could say to that; if the vet said that was the only way to get the key from Fluffy, then they'd have no choice but to go with it. It made sense to her, though, as Fluffy was really just a baby squirrel and the key was probably half as tall as he was. The vet read their expressions for a moment before adding that he'd be taking Fluffy with him, if that was alright with them. He then added he'd give them the address to his office so they could pick up the squirrel when it was ready to go. |
Ferris's heart seemed to shatter at the sight of the girl's pathetic attempt at speech after learning that her beloved pet would need surgery. Brows furrowed and eyes saddened, Ferris watched her for a moment before he heard the doctor speak. He let out a small sigh and a nod before turning to Vianna, "He says that he's going to take Fluffy with him. He's going to give us the address to his office so we can pick him up when he's ready." He seemed depressed at this, knowing Vianna wouldn't like the idea of parting with her pet, giving him to some stranger who didn't even speak her language. |
Vianna's eyes widened even further as Ferris translated the vet's words for her, telling her that the man was going to take Fluffy away with him. Of course, this idea didn't appeal to the girl at all; she didn't want to be away from her squirrel, and especially now that he was sick and completely helpless. Vianna looked at the squirrel in the vet's hands for a moment and nodded her head slightly, knowing this would obviously be much more helpful for Fluffy than just staying in the hotel room laying down and being fed marshmallows. "How long will it be, though?" she asked, turning to Ferris. "Until we can bring Fluffy back, I mean," she added, now watching as the vet pulled out a card with his free hand and handed it to them. |
Ferris took the card the man extended out to the couple, holding it in his slightly sweaty hand as he watched Vianna nod and ask how long it would be until they could get the squirrel back. "Quand serons-nous en mesure d'obtenir l'arrière petit-gris après l'opération?" he translated to the doctor, brows still permanently furrowed just enough to set a crease between them as he watched the vet in front of them. |
The vet listened as Ferris asked him how long it would be until they could bring Fluffy back to the hotel. His brows furrowed slightly as he thought about it for a second before announcing that it should be around two or three days, that he would get to work on the squirrel right away. He then added that he would give them a call or send an owl when Fluffy was ready to go. Vianna watched the man as he spoke and turned to Ferris once he was done, waiting to hear his translation with anxious eyes. |
Ferris gave a brief nod to the man at his answer before turning his eyes to Vianna to translate. "He says it's going to be two or three days, and that he'll send an owl or call us when Fluffy's ready to go," he told the girl next to him softly, knowing it wasn't good news to hear she would be separated from the squirrel for two or three days. He watched her hesitantly, unsure of how she would react to this, but knew that she wouldn't be very okay with it. |
Vianna's gaze lowered as Ferris translated that the vet would be taking Fluffy with him for about two or three days. This certainly wasn't what she wanted to hear, but what could she possibly do? "That's a very long time," she muttered, more to herself than to Ferris. She then looked up at the vet before letting her eyes return to her squirrel who seemed to have fallen asleep in the vet's hand. Reluctantly, she nodded her head, only consoled by the fact that it was all for the squirrel's best interest and after it was all done, she could have her beloved pet back to normal and in her hands. The veterinarian watched the teenagers as they exchanged words for a moment before then announcing his departure, promising them that the squirrel would be back to normal in no time before disapparating from the room. |
Ferris gave a polite nod and a fake half smile to the vet before watching him disapparate. He remained silent for a moment, staring at the wall with nothing in particular running through his mind, before turning to look at the girl next to him who appeared to be very depressed by the recent events. Brows furrowed, his arms wrapped around the girl as he pulled her into a warm hug that he knew she needed. OOC: Off for now Dee! Bbyyyyeeee! :bye: |
Vianna sighed as the vet disapparated out of sight with her sick pet, already beginning to miss the small creature's energetic presence even a few seconds after his absence. She rested her head on Ferris's chest for a moment as the boy pulled her into a hug. It only took that small gesture to help the girl feel better, to allow some of her positive spirits to return, and to remind her that after the wait she could have her pet back to normal and enjoy his presence once again. She couldn't help but feel somewhat guilty, though, for troubling the boy before her with all her recent troubles and sudden lack of enthusiasm. She pulled back and leaned on her toes as she usually did when she needed the extra height before placing a kiss on Ferris's cheek. "Thanks, Professor. Ferris held onto her, keeping her next to him in a warm embrace, thinking over the past day's events. His thoughts roamed over all that Vianna had gone through especially and it made him pull her just the slightest bit closer. He was shaken from his thoughts though as the girl suddenly pulled back and stood on her toes in order to kiss his cheek. Smiling slightly now, as this was one of his favorite gestures from the girl, he looked down at her as she thanked him for everything. "You don't have to thank me, Vi," he told her, though his smile widened slightly. |
Vianna returned Ferris's smile, watching the boy for a moment before looking away and heading over to the kitchen. She pulled out a glass from one of the cupboards and filled it up with cold water. "Am I allowed to watch that scary movie now, Professor?" she asked the boy before taking a sip from the water. |
Ferris watched as she went into the kitchen, taking a seat on one of the armchairs by the fireplace with a small sigh. He let out a small yawn as he saw her return to the room, smiling slightly at her question, asking if she was allowed to watch the scary movie now. "I don't know Vi," he started jokingly, "Do you think you can handle it? I don't want to lose my girlfriend to the television again." He smiled teasingly at her. |
Vianna furrowed her brows at Ferris as the boy teased her. "I don't know what you're talking about, everyone gets like that! Vince and Victor used to get like that too, y'know!" she said, as if this excused her strange reaction to the television screen. "I just happened to get it worse than them..." she muttered, more to herself than to the boy sitting by the fire. |
Ferris couldn't help but let out a small smile at the sight of Vianna defending the trance-like state she got in after watching television, letting out a soft chuckle as her brows furrowed. "I'm just joking with you," he told her, brown eyes amused as they watched her. "I could go for a movie right now," he agreed with a small smile before standing up from his chair, stretching his long lanky arms up to the ceiling as he so often did. His back gave a small twinge of pain, still rather protesting from the fact that he waited so long to take his medicine. He took out his wand, once more moving the couch cushions to the floor between the couch and the television still perched just in front of the fireplace on a coffee table. He then used his wand to drag a blanket in next to the pillows before taking a seat. Leaning back against the pillows, he looked up at the girl still standing with a smile. |
Vianna watched Ferris set up in front the television set while drinking the rest of her icy cool water. Once she was finished, the girl headed back into the kitchen and washed the glass before placing it back in the cupboard and heading out to the living room. She grinned at the sight of Ferris now sitting on the floor ready to watch the movie before hurrying over and joining the boy with a giggle, childlike excitement returning to her at the idea of finally getting to watch another movie. |
Ferris let out a small chuckle as the girl giggled in excitement, quickly joining his side as she returned from the kitchen. He used his wand once more, this time to turn off the lights which would've put an annoying glare on their movie-watching experience. Then, taking the remote in his hand, he turned to look at Vianna with a smile, "Are you ready, Vi?" he asked with amusement in his eyes. He didn't seem to wait for much of an answer though, as only a couple moments later he had pressed play, a smile on his face. |
Vianna nodded her head enthusiastically as Ferris asked her if she was ready to begin watching the movie, her crystal blue eyes glued to the television screen. It only took a couple of seconds for all signs of expression to leave her features and she was, once again, staring at the screen with wide, blank eyes. It wasn't so much from being hypnotized this time, though, but rather from attentiveness and concentration on the people moving and talking in the screen. ooc: I should've had Vi pick out Paranormal Activity... traumatize the characters a little... -evil smirk- |
OOC: Dee! -gasp- That would've been mean!....But...amusing, none the less... :lol: Ferris had once more left his arm around the girl, though his eyes were also glued to the television. Though he had seen this movie once more, it had been a long time ago, and he had forgot numerous details and scenes within the film. And it was kind of...scary, actually. Eyes a little wide, he was watching the screen with pure concentration on his face as he was so obviously trying to decipher the plot and guess the outcome which he had since forgotten. |
ooc: :rotfl: As the movie went on and the plot developed, Vianna's eyes widened even further, flinching every now and then when one of the ghosts the little boy saw came on the screen. It was rather scary but there was amusement in it as well, as Vianna found it rather fascinating how muggles seemed to be so interested in the idea of seeing ghosts, while in the wizarding world ghosts were nothing out of the ordinary. However, muggle ghosts seemed scarier, more eerie; nothing like the cheery Nearly-Headless Nick. The young girl rested her head on Ferris's shoulder and continued watching quietly as the movie slowly reached its final scenes. |
Ferris was rather enveloped in the plot lines, most of his thoughts based on trying to figure out why the little boy could see dead people. Was this just a talent he was born with? Is he just a weird kid? He watched in amusement as the little kid began to see the ridiculously creepy ghosts come into view, and he could help but find it kind of ridiculous that muggles seemed to think ghosts to be this scary and creepy. But his amusement was watched from his face at the final surprise: Bruce Willis was a ghost. His jaw fell just slightly as he watched the seen with slightly furrowed brows, "He's a ghost?!" he murmured his disbelief aloud to the room in general. |
Vianna watched the finishing scenes with slightly furrowed brows when Ferris suddenly spoke, catching her completely off-guard and causing the girl to jump in surprise. She turned sharply to the boy beside her and sighed, her nerves slowly beginning to calm as it dawned on her that what had given her the scare was just Ferris expressing his surprise on the movie's final twist. The young girl returned her wide eyes to the screen as it faded to black and blinked, silent for a moment. "Wow..." |
