Vianna had come to rest her head on Ferris's shoulder, her eyes not ever leaving the television screen. She found the movie to be funny at times and entertaining, but a lot of the time some things confused her and she didn't understand some of the words the muggles in the movie said, or what certain things were, or why their school system was so different. She was rather fascinated at some of the things she learned, seeing the movie more as a learning experience than just entertainment. |
As Ferris had grown up around muggle movies, his mother had explained a good deal of things to him such as school systems and the some of the clothes and some of the music. He let out a few laughs at his favorite parts ("Eat. My. Shorts."), and watched until the ending scene with one of the most famous 80s songs playing in the background. It finished, after two hours, and Ferris finally turned his eyes to Vianna who was now resting her head on his shoulder. Smiling slightly, he asked, "So, did you like it?" OOC: Back in half an hour or so! |
Vianna had almost forgotten to blink by the time the movie was over, staring with wide eyes at the television screen. Television had a rather unhealthy effect on the girl as it seemed to hypnotize her into a trance. But she snapped out of it and was brought back to reality as Ferris spoke, asking her if she liked the movie. Vianna turned to him, eyes still wide, and nodded her head slightly. "Muggles have an interesting sense of humour," she said, somewhat dazed. ooc: Okay! ^_^ |
Raising his eyebrows just slightly at Vianna's dazed expression, he listened as she nodded and told him muggles had an interesting sense of humor. He let out a light chuckle at this, "Yes, they do," he agreed with a small nod. He watched her dazed expression for another moment before smiling slightly, "Are you okay there Vi?" he asked, half amused and half worried that this movie seemed to make her go into a trance of sorts. |
Vianna's brows furrowed slightly as Ferris asked her if she was okay and she blinked, looking down at Fluffy for a moment before looking up again. "Yeah-- I'm fine," she said, giving the boy a sheepish smile. "I just-- I dunno, my mum never really let me watch much television because she said I'd get too sucked into it. I guess this is what she meant..." she muttered absentmindedly, her right hand still petting the squirrel on her lap. "I feel surreal," she added, her brows furrowing once again. |
Ferris gave the girl a sympathetic smile as she mentioned that her mother never let her watch television because she said she would get sucked into it. He felt a little guilty, watching as the girl hypothesized that this was what her mother meant, and mentioning that she felt surreal. "Why don't we...hold off on the next one, okay Vi?" he suggested, turning off the television with a click of the remote. He watched her hesitantly, as though her newly found exposure to television had physically hurt her. |
Vianna looked up at Ferris with wide eyes. "What?" But then the words seemed to register through. "What?! But--but-- why?!" she reacted, her forehead beginning to crease as she looked up at the boy beside her. "I'm not hypnotized anymore, I promise!" she said. Though deep down she knew a rest would be best for her at this moment, as she was still somewhat out of it from staring at the screen for two hours straight, hardly even blinking through the whole thing. ooc: Be back in like 20 minutes! |
Ferris gave a grim smile as she asked why they couldn't watch the next one, watching as she promised she was no longer hypnotized. Though, looking at her, he didn't like her still slightly wide eyes and knew it was best to take a break. "No, Vi, let's save that one for another time," he contradicted the girl, beginning to stand. "You know what? It's probably a good idea that you get some fresh air," he added as an afterthought, helping the reluctant girl to her feet. OOC: Ok! :) |
Vianna pouted as Ferris insisted on leaving the second movie for later before helping her up to her feet. Fluffy hopped off her lap just as she began to stand and climbed on to the couch. "So what're we doing, then?" asked Vianna, not necessarily too enthusiastic or excited to be leaving the hotel room. But as she had mentioned before, she wasn't feeling too curious that day as her mind was mostly elsewhere with her oldest brother. |
Ferris analyzed her expression with his dark brown eyes, brows slightly furrowed as he listened to her question, noting the rather tired tone that she probably didn't mean to exude. He remembered that she didn't want to explore much that day, which was a little strange for Vianna, so instead of leaving the hotel he suggested something else to get her mind off of things. "What do you say we go for a broom ride?" he asked, never having known Vianna to refuse a good fly. |
Vianna's brows furrowed slightly as Ferris asked her if she wanted to go for a broom ride, but the question ended up sending her in another direction as it reminded her of something, "Professor, did you take your medicine today?" she asked the boy, not recalling having seen him take the medicine the doctor back in Italy had assigned him. |
Ferris, surprised at the turn of subject, was caught off guard by the question. Thinking for a moment as he tried to remember this morning, his brow furrowed as he couldn't recall taking the medicine he knew he had stowed in his bag. "I don't think I did," he finally admitted after a moment of thought. He then headed through the hallway back to his room, walking into his bedroom and beginning to rifle through his bag for the medicine. Finding it in the front pocket, he walked back over to Vianna's room in order to grab a glass of water for the pill he should've taken hours ago. |
Vianna watched Ferris disappear into his own hotel room before then returning a moment later and taking a glass of water to drink the pill she had just reminded him of. She walked over to the large windows and looked outside absentmindedly, admiring the new scenery that somewhat reminded her of home. After a moment, she returned back to the sitting area and yawned, her tired eyes watching the squirrel that looked up at her with blank eyes. |
Ferris returned a couple moments later, and before going back to the girl he watched her for a moment, leaning up against one of the walls of the kitchen. Analyzing her tired eyes and rather bored expression, his brows furrowed just slightly before he returned to her, walking up to the girl and letting out a weak smile. "Maybe you just need some sleep, Vi," he suggested quietly, his lanky arms slipping around the girl's waist and pulling her next to him gently. |
Vianna looked up as Ferris approached her, tearing her gaze away from the furry creature laying on the couch. She then nodded her head as he suggested she just needed some sleep. "Yeah... you're probably right," she agreed, returning the smile though there wasn't its usual overexcited joyful glow to it. Her forehead then creased slightly. "Are you still going to be here, or are you going somewhere?" she asked him. |
"I've got nowhere to go," Ferris said with a small shrug. "I'll stay with you if you want," he suggested softly, unsure of what he, himself would do with the time Vianna was asleep. It was rather crazy, but he suddenly realized he had barely spent any conscious time away from the girl over the past few days, though he didn't mind it in the slightest. "I'll go wherever you want me," he added with a small quirky smile, "But, I'm a big boy. I can figure out how to keep myself busy." |
Vianna chuckled softly at Ferris's response. She glanced down for a moment, feeling rather guilty to leave him alone, but she really didn't feel up to anything at the moment; being awake or asleep would be pretty much the same. "Alright, well-- if you want to do anything, just... go ahead," she said, looking up again. This felt rather strange and awkward, so she decided not to drag it on any longer. "I'll see you in a little while, Professor," said the girl, leaning over and placing a kiss on the boy's cheek before heading away to her room. She pulled her shoes off and laid down on the bed, curling up beneath the covers though she wasn't necessarily cold and closing her eyes. It wasn't long until she was deep asleep. |
Ferris watched the girl go for a moment before thinking to himself. What would he do with his suddenly free time? After a second of thought, he began to make coffee the muggle way (even though it was late afternoon, far from morning) and headed back to his room to grab one of his new books. Choosing between the three, he grabbed it and his sketchpad, walking back to the kitchen to fix his cup of coffee before heading out to the terrace just off the living room. Closing the door gently behind him so as not to wake Vianna with the noise, he took a seat in one of the few patio chairs, setting his coffee on the side table and taking out his book. Looking up for the first time since he got outside, he was suddenly aware of the vast beauty of the city view from this terrace. He slowly put his book on the table, exchanging it for the sketch pad, and began to sketch an elaborate cityscape. He remained there for the next few hours, eyebrows furrowed slightly as he concentrated on the view in front of him. |
After being abandoned in the living room, Fluffy grew bored and decided to spend his time eating the leftovers from Ferris's and Vianna's lunch. Vince walked into the room about an hour after his sister had gone to sleep. But he frowned slightly at the sight of the empty living room before checking the bedroom and finding his sister asleep. Eyebrows slightly raised in surprise, since Vianna wasn't one to take naps in the middle of day, he closed the door shut gently and headed out of the hotel room and down to the lobby, figuring it wouldn't be a big deal if the others didn't know of his whereabouts for a little while. But what he didn't know was that Fluffy had taken this opportunity to escape from the room and snuck out through the door just before Vince closed it, now following him down the hall. |
Ferris finally put down his pencil and paper when the city was detailed enough for his liking, setting them on the table before picking up his barely warm coffee cup. Drinking it down despite its temperature, he leaned back in the patio chair as his eyes scanned the various buildings and people of the streets around him. After about five minutes, he finally took his book into his hands, opening it to the first page and beginning to read, unaware of Vince's or Fluffy's whereabouts. |
A number of hours passed and the bright blue, clear sky slowly began growing yellow and orange hues as the sunset neared. Vianna yawned and sat up on the bed, absentmindedly staring out the window by her bed for a moment as she was still in a half-awake/half-asleep state. She remained like this for a couple of minutes before yawning once more and stretching her arms. She then pulled the covers off and headed over to the bathroom to wash her face with cold water that helped bring alertness back to her senses. Vianna then patted her face dry with a towel and headed outside, feeling somewhat renewed from the nap, but not entirely all back to normal just yet. She caught sight of Ferris sitting outside reading one of his books and smiled in amusement before walking out into the terrace. |
Ferris turned his head at the sound of the door to the terrace opening, smiling on instinct at the sight of Vianna. "Hey Vi," he said softly, gently tucking his thumb over his current page halfway through the book and closing the book over his finger to save his spot. His eyes then returned to the girl who had just joined him, "Did you have a good nap?" he asked her, stretching out his free arm with a small yawn as he had been sitting in the chair for hours. |
"Yeah," Vianna replied with a smile, taking a seat on the patio chair beside Ferris's. She glanced down at the book in the boy's hand with amusement sparkling in her eyes before asking, "Is it good? You've gotten pretty far in just a few hours," she said, raising her eyebrows slightly as her gaze returned to Ferris's eyes. |
"It's even better than I expected it to be," Ferris admitted to her with a small smile as he leaned back into his own cushioned patio chair. He let out a soft chuckle as she mentioned that he had gotten quite far in just a few hours, "Well, this was what I spent half my time doing," he told her with a slight smile as he set his book down on the table next to his empty coffee cup. He then picked up his sketch pad, handing it to the girl next to him, curious for once to see what another person would think. "I know it's kind of....simple, but I thought it was too pretty to pass up." OOC: Back in fifteen minutes or so! |
Vianna smiled as Ferris shared that the book had turned out to be even better than he had expected it to be and her eyebrows rose slightly as he explained that was what he had spent half of his time on. She was just about to ask him what he did during the rest of the time when he picked up his sketch pad and handed it to her, telling her the drawing was simple but he thought it was too pretty to pass up. Vianna gave the boy a curious look before letting her gaze fall to the sketch pad now in her hands. Her eyes widened slightly at the drawing and she looked up at the scenery surrounding them. Her eyebrows rose in surprise and she looked down at the drawing again. "Wow, Professor!" she finally said after a moment of admiring the sketch in her hands. "I didn't know you did landscapes too! Well, cityscapes," she said, turning her gaze to the boy beside her with a grin on her face. "It's amazing!" ooc: Okay! ^_^ |
