Ravenswood Manor

Adrianna Charday’s life has been a rollercoaster, to say the least. When it all becomes too much, she slips away from her home in the middle of the night, as she has done many times before. Only this time, it’s for good. She goes to the beautiful wildlife preserve that a close family friend owns. Ravenswood. The ideal place to go if you need some alone time. But no one knows what’s really going through the raven-haired teenager’s depressed mind. She was slowly losing herself in self-pity, depression.
Her best friend since she was an infant, Cassandriana Brant, visits daily, but can never find the girl she once knew as her friend inside the shell of a person she finds everyday.
But if you do find old Adrianna, she will gladly welcome you into the humongous manor house that she now calls home. There are eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a large den with a fireplace and mantle, two kitchens, and a sunroom throughout the house. Two wolves, Dreamer and Stormbringer stay in the den by the fireplace during the winter, but during the warmer months, they are either running around the preserve, or lying by Adrianna. There is a very large library on the top floor, where Ad spends most of her time. A sign on the gates leading to the preserve says:
Ravenswood Wildlife Preserve
Take only photos and leave only footprints.
Please don’t feed the animals, and stay on the paths.
Garbage in, garbage out policy.
$200 fine for littering.
Open from dawn till dusk.

Tours there were very popular. But now, in the winter months, not even her fellow guides could break the icy barrier that wrapped itself around Adrianna’s heart. She didn’t punch anyone who called her “Addy” anymore.
Adrianna’s life was crumbling down. But that would never stop her friend and her cousins from trying to help.

Justin bowed his head slightly clicking the top of the pen and a smiled flicking across his face. "Unless you're a fast typer, good on the phone and know a perfect way of de-stressing someone..."

Ad smiled and rubbed small circles between Justin's shoulders. "I can do everything but the phone" she said.

Ad moved her hands to his arms and rubbed them gently, wrapping her arms around him. "Just tell me what I need to type and what I can do for you and it will be done in no time. But the phone....I just can't do. I'm sorry, baby" she told him, squeezing his shoulders gently before massaging them again. At least she was helping somehow.

Justin lifted his head up looking at the pile of paper on the table and the blank laptop screen in front of him. "That lot just needs logging into the laptop" he replied indicating what was what. It was probably best he did the phone calls anyway. His clients were very particular and they knew exactly what they wanted. Only Justin would be able to give them the information and details they wanted and needed.

Ad smiled and nodded. "I'll just put the twins back in their room and get started on that" she leant over his shoulder and pressed a kiss to the corner of his mouth before pushing off the back of the chair.

After setting the infants back into their cribs, she slipped back into the kitchen and pulled the laptop and pile of papers towards her.

Justin dialled the next number on the list and continued down until he'd phoned every client he needed to contact. It was taking a lot of time and patience but it was worth it and it needed to be done. He couldn't afford to lose clients just from a lack of communication. "What I don't get is why this lot wasn't kept on top of in the first place" he mumbled.

Justin scanned down the list letting out a sigh. "Half these clients were reliant on my services before everything with me went down. I'll be lucky if half of them stick with us" he replied. He wasn't sure if anybody knew what had happened or if they did, to what extent, but he was sure that his secretary was bound to have told them at least they he was dealing with some personal issues. And she wouldn't be lying. That was kind of what he'd told her to say. The majority of the people he'd called back had already moved on to a different company which they said was 'more reliable'. How was it his fault he was five seconds away from a breakdown. If this kept up, he would end up having some sort of complete breakdown. He couldn't handle this on top of every other responsibility he had and his own personal demons. He couldn't believe it but he was actually considering selling up. Even if it did mean more stress piled on top of what was already there.

Justin glaced up at Ad with a soft smile. As stressed as he was, he had the twins to think about. Them and Ad were his only priority. Even if he had to work day and night, he'd do is best to put things right.

Justin smiled a little more genuinely. "I love you too" he smiled. But there was no hiding the fact that they couldn't get out of this as much as they wanted to. At least not without a big fight.

Justin glanced at Ad and smiled again. "I know. And the same applies to you. What's mine is yours, right?" he replied. He looked up behind him when his dad came in looking rather pleased with himself. "What you done?" he asked presumably and a little knowingly though he didn't know whether he'd done anything wrong or not.

Alex raised an eyebrow ignoring the tone in Justin's voice. "I've got you a lifeline. You sell up and you've got the opportunity to live your dream. And I don't mean the music dream" he started. Justin's expression was enough for him to carry on. "I've just been on the phone to the owner of the restaurant you worked at a few years back. He's in dire need of someone new, fresh and reliable to run the place. And he asked me to ask you about it" he finished. He was proud of his handy work. He knew Justin had always dreamt of owning and running a restaurant. He wasn't sure why but he had. Perhaps it was the idea of doing hands on work whilst also dealing with the finance and paperwork side of it. He may not be owning it but he'd still be running it.

You can do it full time, you've proved you've got good management skills. Don't pass it up because of apprehension"

Justin smiled slightly. "You got his number and I'll call him" he replied. There was no need to think this one through. He knew he wanted to do it and it was something he'd wanted to do since he was a child. He had no reason to pass it up.

Justin looked at the stack of paper then at Ad. "Do what you can. There's no point just stopping what I'm doing until this is final" he replied taking the phone from his dad.
