Maxwell stopped with her. "I told you it wasn't that far." He said looking back but it did seem farther than he remembered. "Why are you scared?" He asked teasingly.

"No I'm Not scared, I'm Never scared!" she said sticking out her tounge

Maxwell smirked. "Of course not, what would you have to be scared of?" He asked and with that thunder rolled through the Scottish hills and rain fell down harshly soaking the two of them, Maxwell pulled her under a large tree to get a little shade from the downpour.

"Ohh great merlin's beard!!" she yelled out "this is a brand new outfit! oi Millie's gonna kill me!"

Maxwell frowned. "I'll buy you a new on-" He was cut off by hearing something buzzing in the distance...getting closer. "Move!" He shouted, wrapping his arms around Ariana and pulling her close, covering her with his body, the tree they were standing next to was struck by lightening and was shriveled and black, smoking as the rain had prevented a fire. "Are you all right?" Maxwell asked practically still shouting above the rain.

"You dont have to buy me a new.." and then he pulled her closer to him and away from the tree, Ariana heard a loud BOOM then a Snap and screamed as it startled her she looked back at the tree "Yes, im Alright. thanks"

Maxwell looked at her as if inspecting her. "Are you sure you're all right?" He said, his hair falling in his face from being wet. He started leading her to an abandoned house near the forest, closer than the cottage.

"I'm positive." she said her hair now flat and wet hanging over her shoulders. "where dd this house come from?" she said not ever remembering seeing it all the time's she'd been there

Maxwell nodded. "Okay..It's an old home, it's been here...But it's abandoned so i figured we could wait out the storm here.." He said with a kind smile. "Listen...Ariana..I wanted to talk about..'Us'.."

"weird i've never noticed it before but ok." she said waiting to be shown into the house "ok, what about 'Us' " she said using her fingers as air quotes

Maxwell took her hand again. "I don't know what you want...But i know i want to be with you...if you'll have me..." He said a little nervously, if he was going to be turned down it was going to be now...but was was she thinking? He wondered as he moved a bit of hair behind her ear.

Ariana looked down at her hand as he held it then slowly up at him in the eyes as the words tried to make sense in her mind. "uhh.. what?" she said wanting him to repeat himself, maybe she just heard him wrong.

Maxwell felt nervous about repeating himself, he was sure he'd be rejected now. "I-I want to be with you...but if that's not what you want it's cool.." He said not being is over-confidant, sure of himself self.

Ariana couldn't help but smile "really?" she replied

Maxwell couldn't help but smile seeing her smile. "Yes.." he said and nodded. "I've been thinking about it and after that whole thing with the lightening...I know this is what i want.." He said really putting himself out there.

now he comes the blushing "Are you sure though Max, i mean im pretty damaged." she said degrading herself

Maxwell looked at her like she was crazy. "Ariana, i've been deserted, dumped, forgotten and my Mum's dead..I don't think you're that bad off." He said looking into her eyes. "i don't care what's wrong with you, you don't have to try and be perfect for me, i like you the way you are."

Ariana smiled and just threw herself into his arms. hoping that was good enough for him

Maxwell wrapped his arms around her and gave her a passionate kiss, his soaked clothes sticking to hers as he pulled her closer. His hands at her waist.

Ariana smiled as she kissed him back her hands finding his face.

Maxwell couldn't help but smile through the kiss as she did, continuing to kiss her, he pulled back to get some breath and pressed his forehead against hers. "I'll take that as a 'yes'." He said with a small laugh, he was a bit smitten with her at the moment.

Ariana laughed and gave him a nod as the biggest smile etched across her face.

Maxwell smiled just the same. "I'm just happy you feel the same.." He said very happy. He was still holding her close. "Are you cold? would you like me to start a fire?" He asked seeing a few wooden chairs and a fireplace, maybe there were matches somewhere in the house.

Ari shivered at the thought of being cold "yeah just a bit cold." she said to her new found boyfriend

Maxwell nodded. "Let me find some matches.." He said taking a look around. He found some old newspapers, ideal for starting a fire and in the corner of the room they were in was an old desk, he started digging through the drawers till he found a pack of matches and walked back over to the fire place, he picked up a wooden chair and broke it against the wall and threw the pieces of the broken chair into the fireplace with a paper trail leading to the wood. He lit the fire and tried to get it to start. He took off his shirt and wrung it out, so he could hang it over a chair to let it dry.
