Background:
Dora Lovegood just recently returned to her home country after being in the US working for their Ministry. Dora is a half- blood witch with a bubbly personality but a short temper. She has recently been through a lot of ups and downs, but her co- worker, Silas, has seemed to give her a reason to stick around. Their "interaction" has started to bring out a new light in Dora.
ooc: This thread will give Dora a place to be with her friends and Silas. Dora's character will grow and learn more and more about herself.
Locations:
Dora's house: Inherited from a wizarding relative, Dora just recently renovated and moved into a new home. A sizeable home that reminds one of a farm house. The interior is just as bright as Dora's appearance and personality. Located inside the foyer is a talking mirror that gives out compliments or criticism... whichever is needed. Then you enter the large living room space where you see a ton of eclectic furniture in great colors and abstract shapes. There is a lovely fireplace, on the mantle there is a great collection of wizarding photgraphs. These photos range from her family to former co- workers from the US. The kitchen is very spacious and bright. One wall is nothing but windows, letting natural light spill in. The only room in the house that isn't bright and welcoming is Dora's "office"... well she practice's magic there and brews potions. Here are Dora's more personal photos and keepsakes. She keeps it locked away just like the memories.
There now hangs a portrait of the former lady of the house. She crossed over but felt that Silas needed her portrait to feel better... Besides, she couldn't fully leave her children or her husband so abruptly. Over time she will stop visiting the portrait, but for now she stands waiting for her loved ones to come to her. The other portrait hangs in her niece's bedroom, hung with a permanent sticking charm.
Dora's yard:
Dora has a grand yard that back's onto an enchanted forest with tons of trails and adventures to be had. Living in a Wizarding area Dora is free to fly or do whatever else she fancies outdoors. There is also a sizeable garden which Dora maintains. It is home to magical and Muggle plants alike, there are also pixies and gnomes that roam about. In the center of the garden is a lovely golden domed gazebo with a double swing that is perfect for cozying up on.
The Lake:
Dora's property is also home to a fantastic lake that is home to all sorts of magical creatures and plants. The creatures are well behaved though, so Dora swims often when the weather is nice.

When that was done she motioned for the two of them to enter the house.
"Hey poppet, you have a bit of chocolate on your face. YOu fat heifer." the nasty mirror remarked as she neared it.
"You shut your mouth you stupid thing, or it's off to the attic with you!" Dora spat the words back. She loathed that mirror more often than not, but it was good for a laugh now and again.
"Oho! Aren't you snappish today?! You have made that same empty threat so many times I am not afraid of you anymore." the mirror stated in it's best haughty voice. The reedy voice reminiscent of a certain loooooong distant family member that had been immortalized in a portrait.
Dora glared at the mirror, her hair turning a tinge of red as she thought about how satisfying it would be to smash the thing to bits.

Pandora saw a haze of spells and she realised that someone had come to let them in. She gave Ronan a soft kiss on the cheek and turned to pick up the cages. She saw Dora beckoning to them before going back into her cottage.
"Here we go then." This would be the first time that they were doing something as a couple that wasn't a date. She felt slightly giddy at the thought. She flashed him a smile. As she neared the front door she could hear Dora arguing with someone but it was not a voice she recognised. When she realised it was the mirror and that Dora's hair was already turning red she said. "Dora, step away from the mirror. I'm already been bitten today. I don't need to be showered with shards of broken mirror."

Ronan was comforted by Pandora's kiss to his cheek. Why he was nervous, he couldn't explain. Perhaps because this was the first time that Pandora and he had been out as a couple not at the Ministry or on a date in Diagon Alley.
Needless to say, he kept quiet as they walked along towards the house and was confused as to what Pandora was talking about in terms of shards of glass.
He saw Dora' hair, fiery red and took that as a warning sign hoping they hadn't arrived at a bad time.
If the mirror had a face to it... well, you know... aside from anyone who was looking in it, it would have sneered at the little filthy brats that had entered his house. "And more filth arrives to comfort you. Isn't that lovely?! All of you little brats are a disgrace to Wizards everywhere, you aren't even fit to step foot in this house." the mirror near shrieked

Isabella came trotting into the room, rubbing against her mistress' legs, yowling. She smelled other cats. Kneazle and cat anyway. She was a kneazle. This was her home though. HERS HERS HERS! Hiss,. hiss little kitties.

Tajma could sense that this girly girly was a proper kneazle like him. He mewled at her to try and let her know he didn't want to be there. He wanted his mistress to take him and the owl home.
Tadgh hid his head beneath his wing. He just wanted some sleeeeeeeeeeep.
Pandora set the cages down. "Thanks for doing this." She opened her bag and pulled out a bag of Kitty Kibble and a bag of owl nuts. She set them by the cages.
"How have you been?" She asked Dora.
She went and took a seat on the sofa opposite and smiled at Ronan, encouraging him to do the same.

'What til you get a load of my father.' he thought to himself as he smiled at Pandora and then followed her and Dora into the house.
"Dad! Dad! Don't make me stay here with them! Don't you love me anymore?!?!" Lancelot mewed nonstop as his master carried him through the house.
Ronan looked down at the cat and scratched behind his ear. "It's fine Lance you'll be fine." he said reassuring as he put the basket down beside Pandora's cages and joined her on the couch with Dora.
"Where's Silas?" he asked Dora looking around for her husband. Ronan had never officially met the man, only heard about him from Pandora and would love the chance to get to know him.
Pandora arched and eyebrow as the mirror called her filth. "Well, I've seen it all now. A bigoted mirror." She gave Dora a wry smile as she vanished the mirror to heavens only knew where. She turned and gave Ronan an encouraging smile and then followed Dora into the sitting room.
Dora smiled weakly and shook her head. "That mirror hates everyone besides Mother and Andraste." she said with a grimace on her face.

Dora watched Isabella with great amusement. She figured she would be a haughty little princess about the situation. Merlin willing she would get over it and have fun with the house guests.

She considered Pandora's next question as she took a bite from another chocolate. She simply shrugged her shoulders and said, "Fine I suppose."

Before Dora could respond the green flames sprung to life in the grate and Silas came stepping out of the fireplace. "There he is" she said with asmile as she got up to greet her hubby.

Stepping out and brushing himself off he was unaware of the crowd in his living room. At least until he looked up.
"Oh. Hello." He smiled at Pandora and then noticed a man he didn't recognize. He looked over to his wife inquisitively.
Dora closed the distance between the two of them and planted a quick kiss on his lips before saying, "This is Ronan, Pandora's significant other." she turned away from them and wagged her eyebrows at her hubby before errupting in giggles. "And the cages that Isabella is inspecting will be our house guests for a while. I think I forgot to tell you that." she said and then placed a hand on her belly. Chocolate for dinner= heartburn for babies.

Ronan looked over to the fireplace where Dora's husband appeared from. He stood up out of common courtesy. When Dora introduced him, he held out his hand to Silas. "Pleasure to finally meet you mate." he said with a small smile.
He looked over to the cages and saw that Dora's kneazle seemed to be inspecting all the foreign cages including Lancelot in his basket and Ronan's heart melted when Lancelot let out a little frightened meow.
His hand automatically went to Pandora's and he squeezed it gently as a way to stop himself from going over to the cat and picking him up and bringing with him and Pandora on their trip to Italy.

Pandora smiled at Silas. "Good to see you." She hid a small snort of laughter when Ronan sprang to his feet to his feet to shake Silas' hand.

Pandora gave Silas a look which said, Yes I listened. Don't gloat.
She watched with amusement as Dora's kneazle scoped out her house guests. Poor Lancelot was getting upset. She squeezed Ronan's hand when he seized hers. The poor cat was probably picking up on how tense he was. If we had a daughter she'd wrap you around her little finger. She blushed at the thought, glad that none of them were Legenimens.

Ronan looked to Pandora glad that she had returned the pressure so he didn't feel so bad to be so horribly whipped by a feline.
It wasn't his fault that this was the first living thing other than Pandora Ronan had ever had to take care of and look how much he cared for the young woman by his side.
Ronan sat down by Pandora's side again entwining their fingers together looking over at the other couple and hoped that his and Pandora's would mature to that level--married and children on the way. Happy as clams.
Silas returned Dora's kiss, placing his hands on her waist. Pulling away, he chuckled. "Oh really?" he whispered, clearly amused.
Turning, he reached out to take the man's hand, smiling. "Pleasure to meet you. I had.. no idea." He looked over to Pandora, catching her look, and smiling in return. Looked like they'd both talked each other into good things.
Making his way over to the couch, he eyed the animal inspection. "Are you two going away?" He was amused at the way Isabella seemed to explore the new guests. "Perhaps we should... pull them all out and get them acquainted?"

Ronan gave a look of panic at the cages. Were the kneazles going to gang up on poor Lancelot and tease him mercilessly just because he was different?
He took in a sharp breath and went over to the basket lifting Lancelot out of it and reluctantly put him down on the floor wondering what Dora's kneazle do to him.
"C'mon Lancelot, don't be such a terrible guest say hello." Ronan coaxed the cat who looked scared out of his wits.
Dora smiled at ehr husband and leaned her back into him as she turned around to face their guests. They looked so happy together... Dora wondered if she and Silas were that annoyingly happy? It didn't feel like it really...
Clicking her fingers at the kneazle kitty Dora called her over so that the other animals could be lat out.
Isabella's head snapped around as her mistress clicked her fingers. Rather reluctantly she made her haughty little way over to her and began to purr and rub against her legs, paying no mind to her mistresses husband. She didn't dislike him, but she LOVED Dora.
The weird man put the common cat down on the ground and Isabella's ears perked up. But she didn't move, rather she lay down on Dora's feet and began to wash herself, never taking her eyes off of the strangers. Hiss hiss strangers, hiss hiss.
Dora smiled as Isabella plopped herself down and began to wash. Silly kitty. Dora bent down and scratched the lovely black kneazle behind the ears. Telling her she was a good kitty for not attacking.

Lancelot ventured forward tentatively looking at his master and then back at the animal that was actually at his level. Slowly and stealthily he moved forward towards the foreign animal, his heart pounding a mile a minute.
Ronan watched his little buddy begin to explore the Lovegood house and smiled despite himself. It was like watching a child walk for the first time and he was certainly right proud of the young cat.

Pandora looked at Dora. She clearly hadn't said anything about this to Silas. "Yes, we're going to Venice tomorrow."
She released Tajma from his traveling cage.
Tamja climbed out of the cage and had a stretch. He looked at the other two felines and then padded away to explore, nose in the air.
Pandora chuckled. "It would appear that Tajma is not in a sociable mood. You'll have to be firm with him, he can be very domineering. He's under the impression that I belong to him and not the other way around."
She sat back next to Ronan, seeing a look of pride in is face as Lancelot explored the sitting room. She squeezed his hand for a moment, trying to let him know that Lancelot would be okay.
Tadgh had his head under his wing. Zzzzzzzz Zzzzzzzzzz Zzzzzzzzz
Pandora looked at her owl. "He gets grumpy if he doesn't get enough sleep but he shouldn't be any trouble."
She wondered if she should ask Silas about work. Trying to decide, she fiddled with her grandmother's ring.

"And this is Lancelot's first time from home. And being around other animals." Ronan added in looking on as Dora's cat watched Lancelot tentatively.
He smiled as Pandora squeezed his hand gently knowing that he had watched his pet get associated with a new environment.
"He's not too picky about food but he does jump on the table quite a lot so just know that he may knock a few things off if he does." Ronan added with an apologetic look. He really should not spoil Lancelot as much but the cat was just so darn adorable and helpless looking when he had first gotten him from the shelter that Ronan couldn't help himself.
Dora simply nodded as Ronan and Pandora spoke. Goodness he was treating that cat like a child... kind of creepy. Teehee.
Isabella lay about purring, washing, watching. The other proper kneazle climbed out of it's cage, had a look and pranced off. Good kitty, Isabella thought. Just leave the queen bee alone and we'll be alright. She sniffed the air a bit and eyed to common cat again.
Dora smiled at Pandora and said, "It looks like Tajma won't be any trouble at all. As for Tadgh we can put him in a downstairs room or an upstairs, it doesn't matter. Belladonna loves other owls."
Then directing her attention to Ronan she said, "Well, I suppose it's a good thing that no one ever really eats at that table then." And then gave him a big grin before patting her hubby's hand.
Silas smiled, feeling a bit like he was being a bad host, but frankly, he was tired. Strapped to the desk all day with paperwork had just taken it out of him.
Smiling at Pandora, he nodded. "Venice sounds wonderful. And we're happy to watch these critters." He reached down and put his hand out to invite Lancelot over to him. He was aware of the kneazle going of to explore on his own. As long as they all didn't end up attacking each other when the humans weren't watching, everything would be fine.
"Don't worry about the knocking things around. I'm an expert at fixing things that are clumsily broken." He straightened up, grinning, before squeezing Dora's hand.

Pandora watched her friend with a wry smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. She thought that, just maybe, Dora had the same opinion of Ronan's indulgent attitude towards Lancelot.

She let out a chuckle when Silas said that he was used to fixing broken things. "I'll bet." She flashed a cheeky grin at Dora.

She blinked, she had become so used to him calling her Rose that hearing him call her Pandora felt strange. "Yes, yes, I suppose that you're right. Sorting Tajma out this morning took longer than I expected." She saw the haughty little kneazle make his way back into the room, his nose still in the air. Before she could stand he leapt on her knee, mewling and nuzzling at her hand.
Right then, I've had a good look round, it's time to go home now.
"Oh you're my friend now are you?" Pandora asked the little kneazle, who was still just a kitten really. She stroked him for a moment and then placed him on the floor. She stood up and looked at Dora and Silas. "Thank-you for doing this. I hope that they don't give you any trouble."
Hmph Tajma stalked away from his mistress, towards the very tall man he had seen climb out of the fire. Let's see what you're about. He batted at the man's trouser leg, demanding attention.
"That's it Tajma, conform to type." She smiled wryly. She turned to Ronan. "Are you ready darling?" She blushed, realising that she had not used his name, but a term of endearment instead. The ice-queen had melted, apparently.

"Yes, I'm ready Rose." Ronan replied giving Lancelot one last pat on the head before standing up with Pandora's hand in his own.
"Thanks again for doing this for us you two." he said with a bright grin as he began to lead Pandora towards the door. They had much to do at home and he wanted to get started as soon as possible.
Pandora watched her friend with a wry smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. She thought that, just maybe, Dora had the same opinion of Ronan's indulgent attitude towards Lancelot.
Pandora returned Silas' smile. "Well after everything that's happened recently... I just thought that a holiday was a good idea. Get away from work." Going away with Ronan had been accidental, a slip of the tongue really but she was happy that he was going with her.
She let out a chuckle when Silas said that he was used to fixing broken things. "I'll bet." She flashed a cheeky grin at Dora.
She blinked, she had become so used to him calling her Rose that hearing him call her Pandora felt strange. "Yes, yes, I suppose that you're right. Sorting Tajma out this morning took longer than I expected." She saw the haughty little kneazle make his way back into the room, his nose still in the air. Before she could stand he leapt on her knee, mewling and nuzzling at her hand.
Right then, I've had a good look round, it's time to go home now.

Silas nodded. "Well, I hope it is relaxing and uneventful," he said smiling, recalling how his and Dora's last trip had been anything but.
Looking down, he saw Tajma batting at his trouser leg. "Well, hello there," he said softly, reaching down and scooping up the kneazle and placing him in his lap. "You're not such a bad little guy, are you?" he said as he scritched the little guy behind the ears.
He looked up as they made to leave, smiling as he thought about what a visible change in Pandora this man had inspired. Maybe they could all be happy, after all.

Pandora felt Ronan pulling her towards the door. "We'll see ourselves out." She gave them a small wave and followed Ronan out of the cottage, through the garden and beyond the boundary of the property.
Dropping his hand she said, "I'll see you at your place." She turned on the spot and vanished.

Ronan grinned at Pandora and turned on his heel thinking 'Nevern Place' ready to go home, not so much with out Lancelot but at least Pandora would be there to keep him company.
