This is the official sequel to P&P. The majority of the 'old' characters know the storyline. I am afraid that no new characters are avaliable for this RP, so I am sorry but nobody new can join.

This wont be starting untill tommorow, but seeing as I had a title in my head, I sussed it would be best to open it now. Plus I would like everyone just to put up a brief character analysis and explain how their character/s have developed up to this point.

If anyone comes up with a better title, then tell me. I'd like everyone's thoughts on it, as i didn't really think about it much.

Hey- it's not my fault. Blame him *points at Snape*

He turned to look at the bush she was pointing at before looking back at Marcella. In one swift motion, without bothering to ask her permission, Snape scooped her up into his arms and stood. "Shall we return to the carriage and head back up to the castle or shall we make other arrangements," he asked, kissing the tip of her nose.

She felt a giggle coming and so caught it before it broke free through her mouth. The galliant way in which he had sweeped her into his arms seemed to show how less and less he was being himself and more opening his softer side to her. "I dont know," she replied, in thought. "Dumbledore might not like it if we dont go back, but if we do go back I shan't think I'd like to return to my quarters alone."

"If I recall correctly, you were using my quarters as your own this term," Snape grinned at her and began walking back toward the carriage. "Therefore, I believe we would have a problem should you have wished to return alone."

Grinning, she agreed, "That would prove a problem.." her smile dissolved into a concerned frown, "But not for good reasons. Kristi's quarters are right next door. I dont think we should put her through that."

Snape frowned. There really wasn't an alternative solution. The Headmaster would be even more angry with them if they stayed out the entire night and there were no other 'safe' rooms at Hogwarts. But, Marcella was right, he should be more considerate of Kristi... "Well, I think we'd be safe locking and putting a silencing charm on the door," he said, pensively.

"And in the morning...?" she sighed, clearly sounding as if she were giving up. "It'd put us all in an awkward position. Maybe it's just for the best that we dont." She didn't want to have to say that, but she knew that was all that remained.

They arrived back at carriage and carefully lowered Marcella to her feet, making sure to keep a hold on her, in her still recovering state. He was dissappointed that she had voiced that they shouldn't spend the night together but, he wasn't surprised. It had been silly of him to even think that they could. "Has the Headmaster arranged for other quarters for you, or are you remaining in the Hospital Wing for a while longer?" he asked.

"I dont honestly know," she replied, yawning a little and sitting on one of the carriage seats. "But, what with Darrin's body being there, I dont think it'd be wise if I remained in the wing. Students will start to talk. Dumbledore did mention something about sharing with Kristi, but that's really up to your say so. It is, after all, a room you made for her."

Snape sat down next to Marcella and the carriage took off. "You can stay there if you wish; so long as it is alright with Kristi," he said, knowing Kristi would be fine with it and that Marcella would be so close, even if they couldn't be together.

Snuggling into his chest, she nodded her head in gratefulness and closed her eyes, the thougth of being so close but not close enough to touch, paining her deeply, causing a burning sensation to rise up her throat almost as if she wereabout to cry. Forcing the feeling away, she wiped at her eyes but found no tears. Happy, she tried to smile and held onto him as the carriage hobbled away.

Snape put his arms around Marcella and simply held her as the carriage made it's way back up to the castle. The evening hadn't gone quite as Snape had expected or hoped but, at least they were still speaking, hadn't gotten into too many arguments, and had managed to make it back without incident. He tried to relax and enjoy these last few moments of peace, quiet, and solitude with Marcella but, his mind was preoccupied with thoughts of the future and he remained stiff, despite the warm softness of Marcella within his arms.

As she snuggled in deeper, she felt him stiffen and, in reaction, she looked up and tried to smile as peacefully, as promisingly as she could. Mustering up all her high spirits, she whispered, "Nothing bad can ever last forever, only something good can. You made it out once, we can do it again." But, even this time she doubted in her words. Right now, it didn't matter if she could get him out or not, she would at least, try. Nothing would ever stop her trying. Not even the ominous voice in her head, telling her she holding onto false hope.

He looked down at her and tried to smile. He knew she was merely attempting to cheer the both of them up so, for once, he decided not to argue with her. No matter what he said, not matter the hopelessness of the situation, Snape acknowledged the fact that niether Marcella nor Kristi would allow him to rot away in Azkaban without putting up some sort of fight.

Snape pushed a strand of Marcella's hair behind her ear and continued to slowly pet the top of her head, his fingers tangling in her hair every so often. The temptation to redirect the destination of the carriage was so overwhelming, that for a few moments, he merely clung to her, like a security blanket. And, though he knew he was baring his weakness, he did not care.

I am actually shocked that he took that route. I mean clinging tighter, the other would have been to completely cut himself off and be thoroughly cold. I like it this way.

She felt him cling tighter and, without question, she held him tighter too, not saying a word. Instead, she allowed her mind to wander into thoughts of the next day, the ball, all the excitement of the students. No doubt Kristi would be going, but she did not want her to go alone. Although she didn't strike Marcella as a "girlie" girl, she assumed she'd probably enjoy the pre-activities before the ball, as most girls did. With Snape going soon, perhaps it was wise to bond more with Kristi.

Sighing, she felt his hand in her hair and closed her eyes in contentment, a small murmer escaping her lips. Deciding to change the subject to an entirely different matter, she asked, "So, shall you be teaching tommorow or are you going to skive off?"

I was actually surprised as well. But, in some ways, I'm not. I just do what I'm told.

"I think it would be best to heed the headmasters orders," he whispered. "It will serve to keep my mind focused on other things, as well, anyway."

She nodded her head in agreement and smiled, "I'm sure you'll enjoy giving out detentions and deducting house points for the last time."

"I suppose," he muttered, staring out the window. He wanted to add, "But, I'd rather spend the day with you." But, knowing that it would be next to impossible to do, saying so would just be cruel.

Snape turned his gaze back to Marcella. "Perhaps it has been too long since I've had the happy pleasure of taking away house points and handing out a detention. Although, I do believe there are two classes with Gryffindors tomorrow," he said, his lips curling slightly upward.

"That's more like it." she smiled, almost breaking into a chuckle at the thought. "Now I just have to find something to busy myself with tommorow. Any chance of you needing help in class?" she asked, knowing Dumbledore would think that completely out of the question.

"I don't usually but, if the Headmaster were to approve, I could find a use for an assistant," he said, enjoying the thought, even if it would never come to fruition.

"I believe you could probably find many uses for me, sir," she responded, smiling, "But I'm afraid they would have to relate to the course. We wouldn't want to distract those pupils who are already lacking on concentrational skills."

That wasn't what he meant but, Snape wasn't going to say anything about that. He grinned at her insinuations and leaned over her, brushing his lips over hers. He sat up abruptly, what was he thinking? They were nearly back to the castle and hadn't they agreed that they could not act on their foolish desires?

For a few fleeting seconds, she felt them kissing again and barely had time to believe it before he had pulled away again. Collecting herself in a controlled manner, she scolded, "You really should make up your mind, you know. You could drive a girl crazy with your rollercoaster emotions and desires."

"You tell me that you wish me to be open and honest with you; to know what it is that I am thinking. Well, these 'roller coaster emotions' as you so eloquently put it, are my thoughts. Though my desire remains the same, the conflict within myself still rages: To obey my desires or to curb them? For some ungodly reason, being with you diminishes my capability to see reason," he sighed, rubbing his temples with the thumb and fingers of his left hand.
