A few years back, there was a very sucessful PR called Hogwarts is Still High School. It spawned an entirely new site, which is still running, but was for more mature content that was unwelcome here. But I felt the need to resurrect this beloved RP, but bring a new spin on it... And if you were part of the origional, please, please rejoin. We all need a reunion, because it has been too long.

Hogwarts Is Still Highschool...

Relationships, love, and lies. Homework, classes, and professors. It's all part of a regular highschool, is it not? But look around, isn't it all the same here at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? I do believe it is.

We all grow, and learn many things from school. Be it how to lie to get out of a late assignment, or how to attract the pretty girl in your potions class. And thats where our story begins...

This RP takes place long after the famous trio has left the school. Years infact. Their children are still here, 6th years infact. But new faces have appeared. The Tuck twins out of Wales have been known to be the musical masterminds, and resident heartbreakers. And Jay Kelley, Quidditch fanatic spends his days on the pitch, getting ready for his next match.

You're a regular student, and a not so regular school. And you go about your not totally regular day, doing completely irregular things. Get up, go to breakfast, go to class, chase the guy or girl of your dreams... and be a teenager. After all, this is still highschool.

Having completely enough of the firstie in her seat, she jabbed him with her wand and softly mutter an incantation before turning on her heels. With a flip of her hair, she made her way toward the doors. She seriously did have better things to do. Prefect business still needed to be be finished before she could get started on the party and on the things she still needed to do for herself.

"Well, I should get going." Meg said standing up. "I look forward to seeing you tonight." she said with a smile. "Well, I guess it wouldn't technically be 'seeing' you, since we'll be in masks. But, whatever." And with that and a little wave she walked over to the Slytherin table. She took a seat beside Jay. "Where'd Aly go?" she asked.

At that same time Christopher Haynes walked through the door and accidentally bumped into some person, Ravenclaw by the looks of it. "Oh sorry, i wasn't paying attention to where i was going. Would you be so kind as to accept my heartfelt apology? It would be too much to bear would you choose not to." He looked up to her the brightest pair of piercing kobalt blue eyes intentfully staring at her.

I recently got appointed to teach Magical Creatures at Hogwarts. Before that i was a freelance magical wild life photographer for a wide variety of well known newspapers in the wizarding world. " His boyish looks have often helped him get out of predicaments that his various jobs got him into. " As for the feast and sorting i'm here to meet someone. Her name is Alysseandra Noelle Dewley. It's about a magical creature, a Hebridean Black Dragon with her name on it. It had been delivered to me a couple of days ago with the notification to deliver it to this person. It will be her magical creature to study the coming year." Noticing her indifference, Christophers attitude changed from casual to a more serious misdemeanor, this coupled with years of experience dealing with dangerous magical wild animals made him look instantly older and wiser.

"I'm sorry for my rude behaviour, it's been a tiring day and I have many prefect things to attend to and very little time for them. I didn't mean to come off like that." she tried to explain. She didn't want to arise suspension so early in the year and it wasn't wise to have professors suspecting things so early on. It was already bad enough that Professor Jacobsen wasn't too fond of her and one professor was enough for Alyss' taste. "Let me introduce myself, I'm Miss Dewley, Slytherin Prefect, but I wasn't aware that we were to be assigned a dragon for this year's lesson." She was very much confused by the new information. How was she to care for such a dragon with all the other things on her school and social schedule.

I'm not surprised at you're chagrin, being a prefect is a hefty position to be in." Professor Haynes remembers his days of school prefecture and reminisces. "Don't worry about it and I insist you call me Chris. Though I allready know you won't, it's just I can't get used to being called professor." Professor Haynes sighed. "I'm sure you will be able to take well care of the Hebridean Black Dragon, they very fast grow very fond of their caretakers and are usually easy to keep. I wouldn't overfeed it though, they can grow very large and are known to wreak havoc on school surroundings. So there. "Professor Haynes smiled a crooked smile. "Oh I allmost forgot, you can come and pick up the Hebridean Black Dragon at my office which is not to far from Professor Jacobsen's." Hoping he made a good first impression, Professor Haynes looked eagerly into his conversational partners eyes, awaiting her response in earnest.

Alyss stood there letting this new information soak in once again. Seriously, a dragon?!?! This was not going to bode well for all the other activities she had planned or yet to plan for the year. "Chr...Professor, may I ask where will I be housing this dragon of mine? He..She..It can't possible be allowed within the castle." she asked with confusion in her eyes, which in itself was rare. She was Alyss Dewley and lead candidate for Head Girl next year."Isn't it very unorthodox for untrained wizards and witches to case for such creatures? I'm sure I will raise to the occasion and care for my...dragon, but I'm just a bit confused by how we as a student body weren't aware of this." She knew most of the curriculum for all the lessons in Hogwarts and never had she come across this in her search to secure the Head Girl title.

Eira noticed the Slytherins hasty exit and narrowed her eyes slightly. Maybe she had given the prefect too much credit. She didn't have a good feeling about this and she wasn't at all going to speak to Leo about it, as he was after all the head of the prefects house. She would just have to keep an eye on her and her friends. Miss Dewley was quite bright and if she was up to something, she wouldn't be working alone.

The doors of the Great Hall were still partially open and she could see two people. One being the prefect in question and another person. He looked to be young but it wasn't at all possible for it to be a student. The feast was nearly over and never in the history of her tenure at Hogwarts had a student arrived this late. Dabbing the corners of her mouth with her napkin, she placed it aside her plate and excused herself from the staff table. She wasn't at all hungry anymore and needed to find out who the mystery person was talking to Miss Dewley.

"Ms. Dewley the Hebridean Black Dragon, he, is easy to care for and with the new Dragon Cages that arrived a couple of days ago, housing is taken care of. You will only study the growth of said dragon, never will you be placed in the precarious position of handling the dragon on you're own. That would be very dangerous indeed. That said, only a few chosen students will take care of a dragon this year. Consider yourself one of the lucky few. Remember it's supposed to be a fun endeavor alltogether and I will accompany you everytime you and the others are with you're dragons. I doubt the dragon will be fully grown in this short year you are to take care of it. At the most, you will end up caring for a juvenile dragon, but i can't guarantee it, hence you have to study it's growth pattern. Consider it a pop quiz, from higher up." Professor Haynes took his hand of her shoulder and smiled a slight smile. He could see his conversational partner was visibly confused by this turn of events and felt ashamed that he couldn't do anything but try to explain. He cleared his throat several times before turning his kobalt blue eyes on Ms. Dewley once again.

"You are to come and pick up him up in my office tomorrow and put him in his first cage, the dragon is still so small the big cage is to...well still to big for him." Professor Haynes went through his hair with his hand and heaved a slight sigh, his eyes went passed Ms. Dewley and scanned the great hall. His eyes returned to his disheveled conversational partner and he continued. "I stress the fact that it's not to difficult to care for dragons as long as you follow these three simple rules. One, and i allready stated this one, never overfeed a dragon. Especially the kind you're to study. Two, never handle, or try not to, a dragon on you're own. Only skilled wizards can usually accomplish handling one on their own. Finally rule number three, love you're dragon, of all magical beasts, the dragon needs as much love as the fabled unicorn, and is as easily neglected as one." Professor Haynes smiled his now famous crooked smile and rested his eyes on Ms. Dewley. Awaiting yet another, he hoped this time, little less confused reaction to his professorial rantings.

Alyss tilted her head in thought as she allowed everything to settle in firmly. She was already up for any challenge and this would definitely be a grand one to undertake. But again she was Alyss Dewley and did thrive on things like this, whether it be of her own making or thrown at her. "Well Professor Haynes, thank you for clearing that up for me. I'm in fact honored to be one of the selected to have the opportunity to observe and tend to a dragon." she replied with a nod. "I'm positive that I can handle this assignment and I shall keep those rules in mind at all time whilst tending to my dragon" she added as she heard a faint echo of a clock and footsteps behind her. She did still have to attend to something before starting the preparation for this evening. Putting on a smile, she addressed her professor again. "Professor, if that is all, I have to attend to some times before I retire for the evening. I shall be by tomorrow to see my dragon and put him in his first cage. I have a free period before History of Magic, if that works for you?" She would have suggested just before breakfast, but she did have to get some beauty rest still.

Eira made her way toward the open doors and stood just on the other side. She wasn't at all nosy, but Ms. Dewley was a prefect and currently she was speaking to an unidentified man, as Eira could definitely see it wasn't a boy. Listening to what she could, she heard the Slytherin address the man as professor. Professor, really? she thought to herself. She had thought all the professors were in fact at the table. Looking back to the staff table, she did finally notice the vacant seat of the Care of Magical Creatures. How foolish of her to forget, the spot was to be filled this term by someone from outside.

Pushing her way through the partially open doors, Professor Jacobsen looked at the Slytherin. "Oh just the prefect, I was looking for. I have a favor to ask of you for tomorrow's lesson." she smiled sweetly. She was well aware of the sixth year's schedule and knew for a fact the girl knew of her slight suspense of her and would possible do anything to keep Eira at bay. Looking now to the man in front of her, she nodded. "Professor Haynes, I presume." she said as she offered her hand. "I had almost forgotten that you were to grace our fine staff this year. I do hope that your tenure here is a pleasant one." she added with a smile. Why in the Merlin's beard had none of the staff been notified of the addition formally, was beyond her but again the headmaster was once again under the weather and it appeared a lot of things were falling through the cracks.

Christopher's smile widened. "Offcourse, you'll pass flying colors i'm sure." Professor Haynes deliberated for a second.
"Whenever it suits you. I'll be in my office the whole day tomorrow, formal classes will have to wait untill everyone that has to take care of a dragon has received his or hers. " Professor Haynes still smiling face lit up as he said, "I think you'll be happy to hear that there are many house points for you to earn, should you succesfully decipher the growth pattern of you're dragon. It's also a great test to showcase you're mastery and skill of the wizarding world." Professor Haynes heard footsteps and someone approaching the doors.

Even though Christopher Haynes wasn't sure that this was in fact the Eira Leanndra Jacobsen from his stafflist (and the person he actually had to meet before the student named Alysseandra Dewley) he had a good hunch that she was in fact that person.
"A pleasant one indeed, now that you have decided to grace me with you're elegant presence." He extended his hand to interlock with Professor Jacobsens and they briefly shook each others hand. "Things have been very confusing concerning my arrival, i'm sure it hasn't escaped you. Nevertheless I am here now and ready to guide my future students best I can. I've allready met one of them, Ms. Dewley, who I am sure you allready know. She and a select few are to take care of dragons this year, a hefty task bestowed upon only those worthy of it." Professor Haynes locked eyes with Professor Jacobsen a second. Christopher relaxed his posture but looked as though something had slipped his mind. "I was sure Professor Lester was aware of my arrival, I had sent him an owl regarding my arrival two odd weeks ago. He must have forgotten to mention it. The headmaster has been sick this last month and was hindered from getting the news earlier on." A sick headmaster was no good news indeed as he had heard earlier this month. He only hoped that his arrival at the scene wouldn't cause to much distress in the allready troubled waters of Hogwarts.

"Oh... take a guess, Al," Victoire couldn't help it. Playing games and teasing just came naturally to her. Her eyes flickered over to the Slytherin table as she tried to give her cousin a hint. "Don't you dare give it away until he guesses, Rose," She turned to her, hoping she wouldn't interrupt the little game.

Meg spotted Aly near the door talking to someone very cute. She left the Slytherin table and walked her way over. She and Aly had some major things to take care of. She didn't care how cute this guy was.

Al rolled his eyes in return. "I don't know!" He said, pushing the hair from his eyes. "It could be any of them. Who wouldn't want to take her?" He pouted a little, looking over at Victorie. "Don't you think this is a little soon... After Teddy, I mean?"

Rose jabbed Albus harshly in the ribs with her elbow. "Don't bring that up now." she hissed. Boys! They were so insensitive.

Alyss listened to what Professor Haynes had to say to her as they were interupted by Professor Jacobsen. Putting on her innocent fake smile, she turned to address the Ravenclaw Head of House. "Sure, professor. I can visit you in your office just after breakfast, if you'd like." she offered. She didn't want to do so, but again it was time to keep up appearances. She did have an image to both uphold and embellish upon.

She stood there for a moment as the two professor spoke and noticed Meg coming toward them. Yes, the two of them had things to accomplish and here was her opportuniy to get away. "If that is all professors, I have to tend to some duties before retiring for the evening. I will stop at both of your offices tomorrow as promised." she smiled. She really needed to get away from there and fast.

"Things have been very confusing concerning my arrival, i'm sure it hasn't escaped you. Nevertheless I am here now and ready to guide my future students best I can. I've allready met one of them, Ms. Dewley, who I am sure you allready know. She and a select few are to take care of dragons this year, a hefty task bestowed upon only those worthy of it." Professor Haynes locked eyes with Professor Jacobsen a second. Christopher relaxed his posture but looked as though something had slipped his mind. "I was sure Professor Lester was aware of my arrival, I had sent him an owl regarding my arrival two odd weeks ago. He must have forgotten to mention it. The headmaster has been sick this last month and was hindered from getting the news earlier on." A sick headmaster was no good news indeed as he had heard earlier this month. He only hoped that his arrival at the scene wouldn't cause to much distress in the allready troubled waters of Hogwarts.

Eira nodded to Ms. Dewley and turned to listen to Professor Haynes. "Well, it is finally nice to see the position of Care of Magical Creatures filled, Chris." she smiled as they released hands. "Yes, things as of lately have been a little...how would you put it distressing, but we seem to manage as we always do." Distressing didn't even start to cover how things were, but she wasn't going to discuss that while a student was present. She turned to Ms. Dewley and noticed her attention was directed at the doors of the Great Hall and the student now walking through them. Ah, it was Meg. She was very fond of the Ravenclaw. Perhaps she would rub off on the Slytherin and her own worries would be cured. How she wish the Ravenclaw would have taken the Prefect position offered to her, she would have made a great Prefect after all. "That is all and I shall see you tomorrow, Alysseandra." she said addressing the Slytherin before she hurried off with Meg.

Turning her attention back to Professor Haynes, she smiled. "Well as I was saying. I'm quite happy to see the position filled and I'm actually looking forward to seeing how this endeavour with the dragons will turn out. I'm sure it will be very educational to all that are involved." For some reason, she was a little concerned about the dangers of it, but it wasn't really her place to question at the moment.

Alyss hooked her arms with Meg and hurried away. "Get me out of her, like now!" she whispered to her friend as they hurried away from the Great Hall and toward the stairs.

Meg smiled as she approached the Professor and whomever she was talking to. "If you'd excuse us." she said grabbing Aly by the arm and making a quick break for the door. "What was that about?" she asked looking back at the Professor and the cute guy.

"Like I have time for that, this is so going to get in the way of all the fun we were planning for this year." she pouted slightly. She was slightly intruged with the idea of herself having a dragon, but she didn't see how this would possible fit into her grand plans for the year. "Did you hear anything about this? I mean, I had no idea this was going to happen. Dragons, seriously are they mental to think that is at all safe?"

"Ew.. a dragon. Really? That sounds horrid. I heard they smell awful." Meg said casting one last look at the new professor. "He's cute." she said. "Good thing we'll only be in school another year after this." she said as they walked toward the kitchens. "And I'm pretty sure they aren't. They're outlawed, right? You're going to have an illegal pet... ish thing. That's almost cool."

Victoire had been about to answer Al before he brought up the subject of Teddy, her smirk falling to a deep frown. Even Rose jabbing him didn't make her feel better. Taking a deep breath, she forced that soft smile of hers to reappear on her face as her gaze returned from the table to Al. "If you must know, I'm going with Matt." And with that, she picked up a golden goblet and began to drink deeply.

Al rubbed his side where Rose had jabbed him. "Sorry, it was just an observation!" He just about choked on his water as she said she was going with Matt. "Matt.. Tuck?" He said, arching an eyebrow. "THe pure-blood, Slytherine Eilitest, with a tendancy to break hearts?" He laughed, shaking his head. "Even I thought you had more sence then that Victorie... Then again, look at the trash who asked me to go, and I stupidly enough, said yes to." Al looked down into his cup and frowned. What had he gotten himself into. Surley, if his mother and father found out, he was going to be killed... Or at least grounded for a month. He slumped down into his seat and sighed.

Rose looked between her cousins. "Well, I think we can agree on one thing. We CANNOT let our parents find out about this." she said almost regretting the decision to say yes. Oh, but who was she kidding. This was pretty exciting. She had never been asked to anything before. She was not as pretty as her cousin, and definitely not as popular. Not to mention the fact that she kept to herself mostly.

Professor Haynes noticed someone approaching, apparently someone who knew Ms. Dewley. "That's all i guess, see you tomorrow Ms. Dewley."

Professor Haynes turned his attention to Ms. Jacobsen once more. "I assure you the dragons are of no concern. I shall be present at all times when they tend to them and lets not forget were talking about infantile dragons. I am aware of the fact that they can breathe fire and this might sound dangerous to you inexperienced in handling dragons. But there are methods to counteract their behaviour so you can rest assured no harm will come to the students. Speaking of which i have with me a list of students who will be receiving a dragon this year. Well not receiving as in to keep, but for this term to care for and study. The following students will be caring for and studying dragons this year, Albus Potter, Rose Weasly, Scorpius Malfoy, Victoire Weasly, Kyle Tuck, Matt Tuck and Megan Isly. These students will be notified via a notice on the notices wall."
