After Ginny finishes her final year at Hogwarts, she's stunned to learn that Harry, who's been out of school a year, is engaged. Not wanting to return to the Burrow, which will be full of wedding planning and activity, Ginny escapes to Diagon Alley for a bit of independent living. The twins kindly take Ginny in and offer her a job, and she drags Neville and Luna along as flatmates. Who knows what will happen now that they are living independently?

This is a VERY loose storyline so far, but we want to have the chance to explore these characters as rising adults. I have all of the main characters filled at this point. If you are interested, go ahead and post your character idea. To be honest, I'd prefer HP characters (but not necesarily HRH) rather than made-ups... although a quality made-up is always welcome. If I don't feel your character will add to the story, I probably won't say yes. Also, we're quite serious about RPing, so if you aren't on at night EST, CST, or you will only post very sporadically, don't bother. This is advanced RPing, so YES, your posts need to be longer and more detailed and we DO care about your spelling and grammar.

Fred went back to his and George's old room, and settled his stuff in. He went to look out the window. The street was abandoned as usual. "George...what if that had been Ginny? I'm not saying I'm glad it was Luna instead of Ginny..but you get where I'm going with this. And George..do you kind of feel guilty for this whole thing? It was us that brought all the attention to them in street. We did that...and now Luna is dead...."Fred said looking back to his brother.

"Yeah, sure," George settled onto the edge of his bed. "If we hadn't jumped to conclusions and tried to protect our sister, no one would have known NOW, but you've seen the two of them. It wasn't going to be a secret for long. I wish for the life of me I'd known that Harry was being targeted so that we could have protected them both, but they didn't tell us. No one tells us anything, and now Luna is dead!" George put his head in his hands, leaning his elbows on his knees. His stomach was a tight, hot knot and he wanted to hit something.

"They never will start telling us things either. To everyone else, we're two comedic brothers that quit school and have a joke shop. That's it..nothing more. We could of easily prevented this...it happend right on our doorstep, George. Right outside our door!" Fred moved over to his trunk and gave it a huge kick then set next to George, not wanting to go meet Dumbledore or anyone else.

"Well, there's not much to be done about that," George shoved Fred a bit and laid down on his bed, propping up his head with his hands. "We can go back and finish school and get respectable Minstry jobs and in the meantime, people we love will be in danger and we won't know. Or we could find a damsel in distress in the middle of the street and save her to become international heroes who must be taken seriously and allowed officially into the Order. Which of those plans appeals most to you, Fred?"

"Hello, Guin was it? I'm Elizabeth" she said before Guin gave her answer to Mrs Weasley's question.

Elizabeth took Pig from ron, scribbled a quick note and attached it to the very excitable owl's leg. She carried Pig over to the window and opened it for him. She then watched for a few seconds as the diminuitive owl became even smaller on the horizon. She turned to Mr and Mrs Weasley, picked up her bag and followed them out the door.

Dumbledore sat upon an easy chair, his elbows rested upon the arms of the chair, his hands clasped together so that his fingers formed a temple upon which his chin rested as he gazed, seemingly, into the empty grate. He heard Miss Weasley step into the room yet, said nothing as he waited for her to be seated and address him.

Sighing, Ron gathered his luggage and carried them. He followed Elizabeth and his parents, closing the door behind him. He asked his parents, "We're going to apparate? or a portkey?"

Ginny scuttled in and sat on the low cough opposite Dumbledore. He looked at her expectantly, but Ginny had no idea what she could say. What was there to say? Luna was dead and no amount of words would change that.

"Professor." Her voice was monotone and flat, lacking her usual vibrance and showing absolutely no curiosity.

Dumbledore continued to look, sympathetically, at Ginny after she addressed him. Lowering his hands into his lap, his elbows still resting on the arms of the chair, he visibly relaxed before speaking. "The remainder of your family will be here shortly... Ah! I believe I hear your brothers coming down the stairs now," he said, hoping Molly would hurry along; her youngest was in need of consolation and he wasn't the right person for that job.

Ginny settled into the couch, turning her head to watch her two brothers enter the room. They looked mutinous and a bit angry, and Ginny wondered how they could manage to get that much emotion together. She herself could barely muster the curiosity to turn to watch them. Besides, it probably wasn't the time for them to be getting all... Fred and George-like. Fred flopped next to her on the couch, pulling her to his side. She allowed it, but didn't respond. George sat on a footstool on Ginny's other side.

Dumbledore hoped that Molly and Arthur would arrive shortly, he needed to speak with the twins, privately, and that could not happen until someone was here for Ginny. He did not feel a particular need to fill the grief-filled silence which stretched throughout the room however, he could see the Weasleys were waiting expectantly, about to burst. So, he decided to give them a bit more information. "There will be a small ceremony for her father. However, due to security and Mr. Lovegood's personal wishes, we will not be attending."

Guin had been rushed out of bed and packed before she could say 'Mulferniticious'. Guin, who was still half asleep after the day befores turn of events, came down and was soon introduced to Elizabeth. So that was the girl Harry dumped. Guin noted this and was soon out the door and apparating in front of what seemed to be a house...she had no idea what was going on. All she heard from Mrs.Weasley that she was in danger and to follow, so she did and she didn't know what to do because she was utterly confused.

First she was back and innocently shopping and having ice cream with Potter and then was thrust into a weird confrontation. She meet the twins and their weird behavior. Guin was soaked from head to toe by Fred and now she was dragged out of bed in a house with no clue as to what the heck was happening.

Sighing she walked in...

Fred left the question that George had asked him hanging in the air, and nodded toward the door. They went down to join Dumbledore and Ginny. Fred, deciding to stay standing with his hands sunk deep in his pockets, stood behind the couch where Ginny was sitting quietly. Fred felt relieved that they weren't going to be attending a rememberance ceremony. He hated to see sadness, it just wasn't something that him and George were good at it...ever. Not that he didn't think Luna deserved it, because Fred knew she did. He picked out a spot on the wall, and stared as he remembered just this time yesterday...he was with Luna....having no idea she was living her last few hours of her life....Fred pulled out of his stupor only when he heard the familair cracking, telling him people were arriving.

Arthur and Molly came into the room where Ginny and her brothers and Dumbledore were. He nodded towards Dumbledore who nodded back in silence. The two men exchanged very knowing glances. They had both lost members of the order before to the Death Eaters, but this was different. This was one of Dumbledore's most recent students.

Arthur motioned to Mollyto move towards their daughter Ginny who ws seated on the couch and the two of them worked their way over to her.

Elizabeth apparated to the Burrow after the Weasleys. She followed them into the room where Dumbledore, Ginny, Fred and George were sitting. sensing that Dumbledore wished to speak, Elizabeth quickly skirted the room and sat in an armchair. She looked quickly at Ginny, who looked upset. Elizabeth tried to give her a sympathetic smile, but at that moment remembered that Ginny had taken Harry from her. She turned her head to George and smiled.

Ginny looked up to see her mum and dad in front of her. Something inside her broke at the look in her mother's eyes, and she let herself be pulled into a hug by them, her body shaking with sobs. Molly led Ginny out of the room, Arthur following.

George made as if to leave, but something about Dumbledore's posture indicated that he wasn't through with him yet. He moved to the couch, offering a half smile to Elizabeth across the room. Poor girl. She and Guin didn't need to be in this, but there they were, looking pale and tired. His attention was drawn back to Dumbledore, and George waited expectantly.

Dumbledore watched as Molly and Arthur escorted Ginny out of the room. Then, he looked at the two girls stading across the room. "If you would excuse us?" he asked, kindly.

He quietly shut the door behind them and turned to the Weasley twins, the only remaining people in the room, aside from himself. "Fred, George," he began. "I'm going to ask you both something and I want you both to think about it very carefully before you answer."

Dumbledore studied the twins from over his half-moon spectacles and knew, straight away, that they would not bother thinking it through before answering. They had been waiting for this moment for a long time. "What I am asking you to do could very well cost you your lives. It will also require a certain amount of discipline," he said, giving them both a meaningful look. "Now, as you have probably guessed, already, what I am about to ask, I might as well ask."

He chuckled and smiled at the expectant twins. "Would you, Fred and George Weasley, care to join the ranks of the Order of the Phoenix?"

George stared at Dumbledore for a minute. He didn't for a second want to think that something good had come out of Luna's death, but FINALLY he and Fred were being taken seriously as people who could help. Maybe they all knew that if only they had been privy to information, Luna might be alive.

"Sir, I think I can speak for both Fred and myself in saying..." He paused, about to shout something outrageous and probably very funny. Dumbledore was willing to trust them to be adult and responsible when it came to matters such as these, so George could be adult and responsible too. "We say yes. Thank you."

Fred, for one of the first times in his life, didn't have a witty comment, or a snide suggestion to Dumbledore's question. Finally....they were in. He sighed to himself, and though the atmosphere was full of grief, Fred couldn't help but be a bit proud of he and George-even if the offer was a few years late. Fred was glad that George took the initiative and accepted Dumbldore's offer for them, and he merely nodded behind George in agreeance. Then, not being able to bear it for one more second, Fred cleared his throat and asked a question that had been bothering him all morning. "Um...Professor, since George and I are in now, we can ask important questions..?,"he said more in a statement than a question. "And well, Sir, Hermione..she left the Shop late last night, and was with us in the street yesterday...did, well do you know if she is safe or if she is on her way here?" Fred asked.

Dumbledore, despite the sombre mood, smiled, the twinkle back in his eyes at George's answer and, before answering Fred, replied, in a very serious tone, though his eyes still twinkled, jovially, "I must admit, I'm quite dissapointed with your answer. I have been waiting for this moment for quite some time and was hoping for something a tad more witty."

"Now, as for Miss Granger, I can assure you she is safe. I have it on good authority that the intended target was your sister and I believe the Death Eaters had been watching the house. Knowing that your sister was out of the house, they would not have risked attacking someone leaving rather, someone returning. However, she and Mr. Potter will be arriving here soon; we don't want to take any chances."

Dumbledore looked at the twins, waiting for any more questions before he continued with the news of the first meeting they would be attending.

George looked askance at his brother. Asking about Hermione, was he? Truly the man had gone insane. He ignored the fact that he himself was glad to hear the girl, and Harry as well, were safe and on their way. George resolved quietly to himself that in his time within the walls of Grimmauld Place he would think seriously about how to fix his brother's current and very inconceivable fascination with the lovely Miss Granger.

His attention was drawn back to Dumbledore, who began to give a few particulars on the meeting they would attend that evening. "Um... sir? Does Mum know about this yet?"

Dumbledore smiled, "I thought it best to wait until after speaking with you. You are, after all, of age and I'm afraid, though she would very much like to ignore this fact, you are capable of making these choices on your own."

The sounds of several magical locks being unlocked could be heard as Tonks open up the door and Neville walked in. He was wearing his traveling cloak but still shivering more from emotion than cold. "I.....I'm sorry I'm late," he stuttered. Mrs. Arbor had to find someone else to cover for me." He pulled off his cloak and laid in on the table next to the door.

He looked around at Mr. and Mrs. Weasley who were with Ginny. He tried tnot to make eye contaact with the parents but felt Ginny's eyes on him. He moved over towards her. "Are you okay?" he asked her.

Dobby was on pins and needles since the twins left and both Ginny and Neville were missing from their rooms as well. He had a visit from two Aurors from the Ministry earlier in the day asking lots of questions about where Luna's body had been found and by which one of the twins. Donny did his best to repeat some of what he had heard Fred and George talk about before they left.

Another knock on the door almost sent him into spasms. Dobby opened the door to two rather large unfriendly looking men. Neither of them looked down at the elf, they both scanned the shop as if looking for something....or someone.

"May I helps you sirs?" Dobby asked tentatively.

The men explained that they were with the "ministry" and needed to ask him some questions about Luna. Dobby answered that he already told ministry officials everything he could remember. The two seemed nervous at this answer. They gave each other a shifty looked and then back to Dobby. They asked where the twins where and tried to gain entrance to the shop.

"They is not heres sirs and Dobby doesn't believes you two are from the ministry," he answered trying to block the entrance. The men stopped at these words and again exchange glances. The men asked where Luna's body was taken saying something about testing it for spells or hexes but Dobby was getting the feeling that they were lying.

"You sirs must go now, Dobby will call the real ministry officials if you sirs don't go...now." The two must have understood these words and the special magical abilities of the elves because without saying a word, they turned and disappeared quickly from the shop.
