After Ginny finishes her final year at Hogwarts, she's stunned to learn that Harry, who's been out of school a year, is engaged. Not wanting to return to the Burrow, which will be full of wedding planning and activity, Ginny escapes to Diagon Alley for a bit of independent living. The twins kindly take Ginny in and offer her a job, and she drags Neville and Luna along as flatmates. Who knows what will happen now that they are living independently?

This is a VERY loose storyline so far, but we want to have the chance to explore these characters as rising adults. I have all of the main characters filled at this point. If you are interested, go ahead and post your character idea. To be honest, I'd prefer HP characters (but not necesarily HRH) rather than made-ups... although a quality made-up is always welcome. If I don't feel your character will add to the story, I probably won't say yes. Also, we're quite serious about RPing, so if you aren't on at night EST, CST, or you will only post very sporadically, don't bother. This is advanced RPing, so YES, your posts need to be longer and more detailed and we DO care about your spelling and grammar.

Tara hadn't been in his bathroom before and she admired it as only a woman could. The tub was lovely, and she removed the rest of her clothing as it filled. She knew she would normally be very embarrassed about things like this, but she wanted to sit in this gorgeous steaming tub, and she also wanted to play this game with Severus. She didn't know the rules exactly, but she knew she wanted to win. With a smile, Tara sank into the tub and smirked at Snape.

He smiled as he watched Tara undress and slipped into the tub. He was rather surprised that she seemed to at ease when he didn't feel quite so comfortable. Not to be completely outdone, he grabbed some potions from a shelf and knelt beside the tub with them. "Would you care for some soaps or hair potions?" he asked, his eyes grazing over her small form, now hidden beneath the bubbles.

Tara dipped under the water and emerged feeling a bit less sooty and dirty. Her curly hair was in a straight waterfall down her back and she lifted her face to look at Snape. "I think you're telling me I'm dirty, but I know I am. I suppose I shouldn't take offense to that." She took the bottles from him and examined them with feigned interest. "You're actually very lucky, Severus. One of the Weasley twins wanted to accompany me. I have a hard time imagining this going so well if he'd managed to come along." She handed all the bottles back to him. "I don't know anything about them. You pick one."

Snape frowned at the mention of one of the Weasley twins accompanying her. "I'm glad you managed to convince him to stay put," he said, examining the vials and handing her a blue one. "This one should help get the soot out of your hair. Here, let me help you."

Hedwig came through the window for the second time looking tired and irritated. Harry jumped up and read Ginny's response and he felt like going to see her right now. It wasn't enough, just reading her words... He wanted to be with her... to hold her. Deciding that the rules were useless and didn't apply to him, Harry ran downstairs and flooed to Tonks's apartment as quickly as he could. He threw the powder in and was at her flat in no time. He landed on her living room floor, slightly dirty from her slightly dirty fireplace.

Tara shifted around in the bath until she was sitting in front of Snape. It was a much larger tub than it looked and she tried not to wonder what Snape needed with a tub this size. Hopefully for entertaining her only, and not for some of his wicked Potions experiments. She had to bite back a grin at the thought of that. "Thank you, Severus. I'll have to return the favor when you join me."

Ginny jumped to her feet. "Harry! I..." He was filthy and out of breath, and was just about the best thing she'd seen since that pizza. Living with Tonks was fun, but Harry was looking at her with those green eyes of his. His eyes were reproachful and otherwise unreadable, and Ginny wasn't sure how she should proceed. She wanted to jump into his arms, but he could be so mad at her. If he rejected her again tonight, there was no telling HOW far she'd run.

"I do believe that is the first time anyone has offered to voluntarily wash my hair," he replied, rather shocked at her suggestion, though he did proceed to remove his shirt and then, slid his hands down her arms. "Are you sure you don't want to bathe alone?" he teased.

Tara pinched his arm where her hand rested against it and slapped soap bubbles at him. "Haven't you figured it out yet, Severus? I don't care what we're doing, I just want to be near to you. It's why I'm here instead of up packing clothes for my daughter, who must, by the way, have inherited that fine trick from someone less organized than me. I've been color-coding my socks since I was one." She stood up in the soapy water, watching the bubbles drip away. "If you don't want to be in here while I bathe, then I'm done bathing."

"Now, I didn't quite say that," Snape said, standing with her, though he was still a bit taller, even with her standing in the tub. He slipped out of the rest of his clothing and stepped up to her in the tub, his hands sliding over her wet skin.

Harry brushed the dirt off of himself and approached Ginny, putting his hands on her arms. It was so good to see her... even it had only been hours since they last talked. "I miss you already, Gin..." He said, then hugging her close to him.

Tara pulled his head down and kissed him gently, deepening the kiss after he responded. She smiled against his mouth and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling herself flush to him. "I still think I'm done with this bath. I've gotten what I want."

"And what is that?" he breathed in her ear as his one hand tangled in her hair and the other held her behind her back. "I'm afraid I have forgotten the towels."

Ginny fell into his embrace, loving the way her small form fit so well into his arms. He was all warmth and strength, and Ginny felt the tears rise to her eyes again. No, it wasn't time to cry. Harry was here and Harry was everything and... Ginny pulled away from Harry, her eyes bright with unshed tears. Before he could comment, she pulled on his t-shirt, bringing his head to hers.

Tonks smiled as Harry came in from the floo and he and Ginny had their reunion. But, she quickly felt out of place as the two seemed to forget her presence. Not wanting to disturb them, she merely went into the bedroom and closed the door.

Tara snorted in a quite unladylike way. "And are you the sort that is going to mind the little puddles of water all over your bedchamber?" She raised her eyebrows and waited for his reaction. Trailing her lips and fingers along his neck and jaw, Tara answered his first question as well. "All I wanted was you. Like this."

Harry kissed Ginny's lips briefly, then just went back to holding her tightly while their faces were still close. "I love you..." He said in a whisper, just wanting to stand like this for forever. "I'm sorry I was... weird... in that first letter... I was just upset you weren't with me."

"Yes, I'll mind the little puddles but, I'll risk them for you," he whispered before his left hand, which was still tangled in her hair suddenly jerked. Ignoring it and hoping Tara wouldn't have noticed, Snape gently lifted her up into his arms. "Shall we proceed back to the bedroom?"

"I thought I could leave," Ginny pressed her cheek against the smooth fabric covering Harry's chest. "But I got here, and I ended up missing you. You should stay here too. Maybe..." But she couldn't say that Tonks wouldn't mind, and she couldn't put Harry into that kind of danger. "I just love you, Harry. Hold me for as long as you can right now."

"I couldn't ask Tonks to do that... anyway, maybe you and I living apart will make our visits with each other better," Harry said, stroking her hair gently. There was something on his mind that he wanted to talk about and get out of the way. "Gin... you know... what we were talking about before you left? ...That's not why you left, is it?

Tara winced as Snape jerked his hand and pulled her hair, but she tried to ignore it. "I'm starting to get cold," she teased him, curling against his chest. "Take me to the bed." As they crossed the room, Tara wondered about the hair pulling. Snape was a man who was used to tiny intricate movements, someone who was always in control. He laid her on the bed, and she put her hands on his arms. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing is wrong," he said, sliding his left arm out of her grasp and slipped next to her on the bed, drawing the sheet over them. "Is that a bit warmer or am I going to have to try a bit harder than that?"

"Harry," Ginny delayed as she twisted the hem of his shirt with her fingertips. "The only good thing in that house was me being with you. The only thing that made it bearable was being with you. And then I screwed things up so badly today, and you... sometimes you aren't there, Harry. You're standing in front of me, but you're not with me. And I'm more lonely in those moments than I'd be in a room by myself, because the love of my life is locked in a place I can't touch." She finally looked up at him. "It wasn't you that made me leave. But I guess in some ways it was about you."

Harry's eyes shifted to look at Ginny's fingers playing with the bottom of his shirt. They lingered there for a moment of quiet stillness, then his gaze moved back to her. It mad Harry sad to know he made her feel this way, but he thought it was something he really couldn't do much about. "I'm sorry... but, like I said... maybe living apart will be good. Our visits with each other will mean more."

Tara stared hard at Snape, but he didn't seem to be lying. "You're in a strange mood, Severus Snape. Not to say I don't like it, but... still strange." She cuddled into his arms and brushed his shoulder lightly with her lips. "I'm much warmer now, and I wish I could stay like this all day." Or longer, she added mentally, but she wasn't about to push her luck. Each day Snape decided to care for her was a beautiful gift. With that thought in mind, Tara leaned in to capture Snape's mouth again, her desire to love him and show him her gratitude overtaking her reasoning that she was already running way behind.

"I want to stay, but I can't," Tara reminded Snape much later, her small body resting against his and her heart seeming to beat in time with his for just a moment. It made her smile and she nuzzled her face against his chest. "One of these days, I'd like to just lay in your arms and not have to go somewhere or answer to someone or..."
