Lily Evans didn't know what she had gotten herself into when she agreed to stay with James Potter over the summer break. Her parents were making arrangements for Petunia Evans, and Vernon Dursley’s wedding. Lily wasn't a fan of Vernon Dursley or his family, and she wasn’t a fan of the arrangements that Petunia had helped to make. Petunia, had of course found her Diary, which she had written, “I hate James Potter” on the first page, and so to tick Lily off, she purposefully made her stay with him. How will her summer escapades and rampant mischievousness change her life, and how will they effect her feelings for a certain, James Potter.
NOTE: ONLY FIRST POST IS FROM THE SUMMER, IT STARTS IN THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.
Plot Information:
In the beginning Lily isn't fond of James Potter or his actions, but in the end she warms to him, and eventually the school year begins. This begins in the tail-end of the summer, but the first post is a basic motticum of emotions that Lily felt in the beginning of the summer before her new experience evolved into a whole new destiny. A Destiny that included a certain James Potter, as her new-found-love in her last and final seventh year at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Dear Diary,
Petunia has made me stay over-summer with the Potters, how weird is that? She got a hold of my Diary that I forgot at home over the school year and in it, the first words were "I HATE JAMES POTTER". I feel really bad about it now, because I know I don't Hate James anymore, he was so oddeningly kind to me over the past month. We've only got three more weeks of summer break left, and I wonder what will happen between us considering my change-of-heart and his so clear obsession with being around me and wanting to well, date me.

Lily read the note she had written the week before and smiled, today some of her friends were showing up and they were attempting to help her through the end of the month and the end of the summer break. She really loved the Potter's home it was such a beautiful building with a magical inside-litterally, the inside was enchanted so its expanse was much larger than that it looked like it would be from the outside. It looked quaint from the outside, and on the inside it was quaint, but still oh-so-lavish.
Lily walked out of her room in the Potter's home putting her Diary on the end of her bed and locking it quickly. She walked down the stairs and out the back kitchen-door of the house. Where a small crystal-clear pond was visible there were no creatures like Giant Squids or Grindylows in the water here it was so beautifuly an Azure water. She walked to the waters edge and looked at all the small fish swimming around, she loved watching the water as much as she loved dazing off into fire-places.
She heard a slight hoot and looked up seeing a tawny owl with a letter about its leg. Taking the letter and opening it, she realized it was the Hogwarts leters.
Reading the letter she almost screamed. "I'VE GOT HEAD!" She yelled out in shock, she was head girl for her year. Head Girl! She wondered who Head Boy would be and assumed James would not be him, if it was James she would probably feint or blink at him repetatively saying "thats impossible!" Because it really was impossible.
She smiled and heard the door bell ring, walking to the door and opening it she smiled welcoming all the visitors into the home, it wasn't like James's parents would mind. They were constantly off on buisness, which made it possible for them to--well, have many moments alone in their large home. One morning, she had woken and found him gazing at her, and as she stood up, he walked over and planted a kiss on her lips. That was the day she realized she had feelings for him. The day she realized she actually was quite fond of James Potter.

"Do I get one of these every time I do something like that?" He chuckled and took a bite of it. He really felt the need to bark right now...
"Don't worry about it Gin." His smiled faltered slightly as he turned back towards Lily and Potter. "But...it's not fun to be nice to him." Alex didn't care what Potter thought. He was pretty sure that he knew by now that Alex didn't like him.
"Luci you are probably the most daft person in this room." He moved a little closer to him so he would be the only one to hear. "Besides Potter that is." Hehe. He couldn't help but laugh at Lucien's approach. It was pretty funny.
Alex just ignored the smelly feet comment. His feet couldn't smell bad and he knew what Gin was up to. There really was something wrong with that girl. "And it looks like 'Luci' is now your official nickname mate."
"Sorry Alex but I think we could manage we could even get Lily to play if only we could teach her to fly" She joked, giving Lily a quick smile - as she knew Lily would learn to fly shortly as she had interrupted a flying lesson earlier.
"I second that, for the nickname thing." Gin laughed, "After all he did call me tonic for an entire year and Professor Slughorn asked if I'd been drinking because of you." She glared at her brother. Ah the irony of that nickname.
She couldn't help but laugh as she had overheard the comment about Potter - in a sense that was true he hadn't noticed Lily was infatuated with him from the get-go with all her anger pointed at him too.
As it became increasingly clear no one would make Lily Evans blush like a little school girl (which she was of course) with a completely out of place comment. Gin felt it in her best interest to comment. "Lily your always hot" stealing the words right out of Alex's playbook.

"Oi...you'd respond like that when the blasted thing is being annoying and getting you swooped on by both your team and the other," Sirius replied with a shake of the head. The memory was an amusing one...of good times and all and he let out a content sigh at the recollection dispite the past discomfort. He absently watched both Lily and James contend for the same chair and chuckled once before turning his attention back to Gin. "I know..." he added trying to play it off. Thankfully the subject of pranking was brought up and all was well in the world.
"Aww Lily why can't you just deem the entire house that way and make it more fun?" he teased looking at the girl upside down as he leaned over the opposite arm of his chair. Still taking a better look in her direction he could see the healed cut and hated the girl the more for he wasn't one to take the Snake House's actions in stride.
"You know...one might take offense on the smell like a wet dog comment," Sirius mused with a look in her direction, his head now tilted to the side, though his face was not one of offense in any way. He paused as if debating the move before getting his lanky form up from the chair. "Don't make me shake and get you all wet again," he added too busy talking himself to catch the exchange between Gin and Alex.
As he sat back down, this time on the one couch, Sirius was about to defend his best mate and the whole daft business but the repeated references to Luci was making him ill. "Ugg...please can we not call Lucien Luci?" Padfoot finally asked making a face as the rest of the group seemed to adopted the nickname. "One Luci is enough and thats my dear cousin's betrothed-to-be."
Gin bit her lip as Sirius took a seat next to her - she didn't care if he was slightly damp at all. She was herself after all. "Aw what if I don't care if I'm covered in wet-dog?" She joked giving him a nudge in the shoulder. "I don't believe he is." Gin whispered, leaning in she put her head on his shoulder playfully she said a quick line, "So how about we call him Dopey - like the er muggle book Snow White and the seven dwarfs he was the stupid one." She smiled, and added another quick whisper, "only reason i'd ever say daft with er - him is...when it comes to Lily obviously flirting with him all day...unless there's something I don't know." She whispered this at a level barely audible to the human ear - maybe just maybe Sirius would hear her.
"Oh I'm sorry Sirius, I completely forgot of Mr. Bad-Taste" Lily laughed, using the literal translation of Malfoy's last name. "We could, since we call Gin, Gin we could call him Trist for Tristan." She offered, shrugging her shoulder.
Lily smiled, "And Alex, yes evertime you act like that I just might lobe a bisquit at you. Careful one time it might actually be a milk bone." She joked, and conjured a box of biscuits from her room. She quickly stood up handing the box to Sirius, "Here, I can't have them in my room anymore - I'll eat too many of them." She smiled and walked back over to the chair not before poking James Potter.

"Oi!" James pouted as Lily poked him. "And you didn't offer me a biscuit? Rude! Me wants some cookies!" James grinned as he leapt at Sirius and stole the box from him.
"Thanks Padfoot!" James said as he munched on one of the biscuits. James wandered away with the box, eating the biscuits as he slouched onto the seat again.
"Sorry didn't think to ask," Lily laughed as he ran off and grabbed the cookie box. "Oy James" Lily said and pointed to the seat next to her. There was a vacancy on the chair with her, it was after all a sofa. He could fit, and the side with the permanent imprint of James' Butt was still free.

"You're forgiven." James said as he leapt up out of his seat, cookies still in hand as he went and sat on the sofa.
"So anyway, I like the nickname Ian maybe for Lucien. Maybe Lucky even?" Really, James was on a sugar high from the cookies he had managed to down already.
Lucien's eyes grew big as Potter gave an honestly good nickname idea. Maybe he wasn't so daft after all. He thought running a hand through his hair as he thought the words Potters not as daft afterall ironically mimicking his "enemy" as Alex put it. That was because Alex was utterly head over heals for Lily Evans - and right now it seemed she liked Potter more than she let on. Especially with the blushing.
Wait.
Lily was blushing.
"Aw thanks," Lily smiled as she reached over and made to snag a cookie out of the box. She was after all, trying to get his attention any way she could. "James, I kind of stupidly told everyone about this afternoon and the pitch when I was in pain from the head -thing." Lily spoke her hand still in the box - not even grabbing a cookie. She was more trying to let him know with a disquise to it.
"Thanks for the cookie" she smiled cheekily as she grabbed one and made to take it out of the box.

"Huh?" James asked, not hearing Lily over the sound of him humming. "Sorry I wasn't listening." Noticing now that she was taking one of his cookies, he frowned slightly. They were his cookies! His cookies!
Though he did suppose that she had given them to Sirius who had in turn 'given' them to him, so he let it slide.
Lily scoffed, glaring at James slightly giving him a next time listen to me look. "Its alright...just something about the pitch and me blurting something out in the middle of the common room - that I didn't mean to blurt out." She spoke, her voice squeaking slightly as she said this - a sound so unattractive but somehow people didn't mind her annoying vocal problems that happened when she was nervous.
She immediately pulled the cookie in her hand to her mouth and took a bite. Ew. It wasn't the kind she liked that was when she remembered why she didn't want it. "Why did I eat that?" She asked putting the cookie infront of James. "Want the rest?" She asked - it wasn't a big deal after all she had already kissed him one night over summer when his mother Dorea had given her slightly too much fire whisky.

James stopped eating for a moment, acting serious - well as serious as he could be on a sugar high. Swallowing his last bite, he nodded. "We should at one point discuss it. Maybe tommorrow after Flying Class 101?" He joked slightly.
"Also, don't worry. My mum has learned from that experience." He finished, now starting to eat the biscuits again.
"Good to know." Lily laughed at the comment of his mum, she smiled, "sounds good - or we could also talk tonight if you want to get it over with sooner?" She asked biting her lip as she spoke accidentally biting so hard that she cut it.
"Ouch" she groaned, as she placed her finger on her lip.

"You okay?" James asked as he noticed her bite her lip, making blood appear. Pulling his wand out of his pocket, he quickly 'accio'ed a cleam handkerchief from his room.
"Thanks," Lily blushed, "I-I think I'm fine might just be a little nervous you know...I don't know why though," Lily said turning to James, she grabbed the kerchief and placed it against her lip fixing it quickly - she placed her healing cream on it the wound healing quickly. "Thanks James," she thanked him yet again adding a quick, "your the best" to the end of it and resting her head on his shoulder.

Looking around the room at where everyone was talking, James searched for Remus and Peter. Even if he hadn't seen them yet, they had to be here soon or now. Otherwise how was everyone here if they hadn't come on the train?

Lily smiled, and slyly very unnoticeably kissed his shoulder - it just felt like the right thing to do at that moment. After all she'd already kissed him once that day, what would be the harm. Alex getting jealous? Be he didn't like her that way - he was just protective of her. Right?
She smiled at James, turned her head towards him - this move made it impossibly easy for him to accidentally kiss her that is if he turned his head their lips would touch.
Peter walked into the room almost as quickly as his name was thought. He saw Lily kiss James's shoulder and his jaw dropped. "What is going on here James? Are you two dating or something?" He asked making sure to act surprised. James had after all told him of the snog session over the summer.

James turned his head to look at Lily when he suddenly found out he was kissing her. Starting to smile, James pulled away. "Woah!" He said loudly, surprise and happiness clear on his face.
Remus walked into the common room to see Lily and James kissing, Gin and Sirius talking and others mingling around the common room. All perfectly normal in the Gryffindor Common Room. Hang on what? Remus turned his eyes back to the sofa where Lily and James had now seperated.
When did this happen? He hadn't missed that much had he? Amused, Remus sat on a chair near Sirius so he could chat with another of his friends who wasn't currently snogging.
"Hello Sirius!" Remus said.
James suddenly pulled away from Lily, accidentally falling on the floor in surprise from Peter who had suddenly interrupted his special time with Lily.
Now seeing Remus in the room, he noticed that at least Moony must have been polite enough not to interrupt, but Wormtail had just jumped on in.
Peter laughed. "I've missed alot too," he laughed, "they kissed over summer mate." Remus whispered smirking.
Lily blushed, she saw the smile on James' face and blushed. "Sorry should have told you about that." She laughed, not like it would have changed anything she thought with a laugh. Clearing her throat. Her face was again as red as her hair.
"Maybeweshouldtalksoonerthanlaterthen?" She asked too quickly for anyone to really understand.
"Um." She responded as she saw James fall, "Y-y-you okay?" She asked stammering. Her face bright red, her heart thumping like a thumper's foot in Bambi.
"James" Lily croaked, her voice quiet. "I'm going to go to the hall if you want to join me and talk?" She asked, quietly, frantically.

"I'm okay!" James said, standing up. "I'm completely okay!" Looking at Lily, he sat down on the couch again. "Yeah we should talk. Let's leave these eavesdroppers alone and chat in the hall?" James gave a pointed glare at his friends, especially Peter.
Lily stood up her hair covering her cheeks, so no one could see them. She cast a quick glance over to Gin, a pleading one that read keep everyone from following please. She then walked briskly to the portrait hole, ironically today even though she was trying at quidditch she had decided to wear both a skirt and a pair of her thick leggings. The skirt red and gold plaid. Swayed as she walked.
She stepped out of the portrait hole, glancing at the portrait she saw that it was, thankfully the fat lady wasn't there which gave them privacy. Still it meant she would have to use the Head-of School passage she was told about by Dumbledore - one the map hadn't acquired because it changes yearly.
She kept walking for a bit until she came across a staircase at the end of the hall, one hardly any Gryffindor ever walked to. She leaned against the wall. She was sure James had followed - after all he had agreed to walk with her.
"What its about ruddy time if you are." Peter spoke stupidly then shrugging his shoulder walked over and sat on the chair near Alex, Lucien, Sirius, and Gin. "So, how are you all doing?" He asked smirkingly.

Following Lily out of the room, James walked to the hallway where he and the Marauders had used many times to avoid teachers who usually only patrolled more common hallways.
"Soo.." James started, standing in front of Lily.
Remus shook his head at Peter. "Wormtail, why'd you interrupt them? They were content." He said, 'accioing' the box of cookies that James had left behind adn stealing one from out of the box.
"Soo" Lily blushed as James stood in front of her - her back was already against the wall she was as you could say in a very sticky situation. She tipped her head up, looking him in the eyes as she as immensely shorter than him.
"James, I need to know something - when you told me this summer that your 'feelings' for me had changed did you...well was that...is that true?" She asked changing the wording several times out of sheer nerves.
"Because I guess what I'm trying to say is I don't know - " she paused, taking a deep breath before she grabbed hold of his shirt and pulled his face down to hers so it wouldn't be as much of a reach to kiss him. And that is exactly what she did.
What she wanted to do for so long - since he came to her defense in fifth year.
"Maybe I'm stupid." Peter scoffed, rolling his eyes and putting his hands on his hips dramatically. The he added a quick slam to a non-friend. "Not like I'm not the only one." He rolled his eyes.

James at first didn't react, just surprised that she had started kissing him, then he started to kiss Lily back, holding her close. Man he was glad she wasn't a James Potter hater anymore. She was so much more fun when she was kinder to him.
"You're calling me dumb Wormy?" He asked, pretending to look hurt. "I never knew you felt that way..." Remus said as he looked down at the box of cookies in his hands. Taking one out he nibbled on it, still pretending to be sad.
