Lily Evans didn't know what she had gotten herself into when she agreed to stay with James Potter over the summer break. Her parents were making arrangements for Petunia Evans, and Vernon Dursley’s wedding. Lily wasn't a fan of Vernon Dursley or his family, and she wasn’t a fan of the arrangements that Petunia had helped to make. Petunia, had of course found her Diary, which she had written, “I hate James Potter” on the first page, and so to tick Lily off, she purposefully made her stay with him. How will her summer escapades and rampant mischievousness change her life, and how will they effect her feelings for a certain, James Potter.
NOTE: ONLY FIRST POST IS FROM THE SUMMER, IT STARTS IN THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.

Plot Information:

In the beginning Lily isn't fond of James Potter or his actions, but in the end she warms to him, and eventually the school year begins. This begins in the tail-end of the summer, but the first post is a basic motticum of emotions that Lily felt in the beginning of the summer before her new experience evolved into a whole new destiny. A Destiny that included a certain James Potter, as her new-found-love in her last and final seventh year at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Please when you join, do not ask for a character if you do not intend to stay in the RP for more that one or two posts, and if you so choose to join please inform people when you must leave. It will be most helpful.

Also, please use full sentences in this RP for example when your character laughs say laughed don't speak outloud saying LOL. This RP takes place before text speak was invented.

Dear Diary,
Petunia has made me stay over-summer with the Potters, how weird is that? She got a hold of my Diary that I forgot at home over the school year and in it, the first words were "I HATE JAMES POTTER". I feel really bad about it now, because I know I don't Hate James anymore, he was so oddeningly kind to me over the past month. We've only got three more weeks of summer break left, and I wonder what will happen between us considering my change-of-heart and his so clear obsession with being around me and wanting to well, date me.

PS. I think I might possibly like him.

Lily read the note she had written the week before and smiled, today some of her friends were showing up and they were attempting to help her through the end of the month and the end of the summer break. She really loved the Potter's home it was such a beautiful building with a magical inside-litterally, the inside was enchanted so its expanse was much larger than that it looked like it would be from the outside. It looked quaint from the outside, and on the inside it was quaint, but still oh-so-lavish.

Lily walked out of her room in the Potter's home putting her Diary on the end of her bed and locking it quickly. She walked down the stairs and out the back kitchen-door of the house. Where a small crystal-clear pond was visible there were no creatures like Giant Squids or Grindylows in the water here it was so beautifuly an Azure water. She walked to the waters edge and looked at all the small fish swimming around, she loved watching the water as much as she loved dazing off into fire-places.

She heard a slight hoot and looked up seeing a tawny owl with a letter about its leg. Taking the letter and opening it, she realized it was the Hogwarts leters.

Reading the letter she almost screamed. "I'VE GOT HEAD!" She yelled out in shock, she was head girl for her year. Head Girl! She wondered who Head Boy would be and assumed James would not be him, if it was James she would probably feint or blink at him repetatively saying "thats impossible!" Because it really was impossible.

She smiled and heard the door bell ring, walking to the door and opening it she smiled welcoming all the visitors into the home, it wasn't like James's parents would mind. They were constantly off on buisness, which made it possible for them to--well, have many moments alone in their large home. One morning, she had woken and found him gazing at her, and as she stood up, he walked over and planted a kiss on her lips. That was the day she realized she had feelings for him. The day she realized she actually was quite fond of James Potter.

"I have no idea where it is." Lily glared at the ground, obviously talking of Snape - "But Sirius and gang are probably on their way."

Lily laughed as she heard the excitement and saw it clearly. "James, I don't care what you do to the idiot as long as he is not killed after all he did call me a Mudblood." Lily pulled her arm around her body and gritted her teeth.

"He also might be out to get you even more this year - he tried to offer me to stay with his family over the summer because he lives in the same town as me. Not safe if you ask me being in the same town." She rolled her eyes, "Thanks again for putting up with me." Lily smiled. He was actually rather nice over summer and had been very kind ot her.

Almost here, that means pranking! James thought excitedly, dancing slightly to imaginary music in his head.

Hearing the next thing she said, he calmed down from thinking of pranks. "I can handle Snivellus. And it was alright. My parents love visitors and guests and we have plenty of room in the house." James replied. "Not to mention I wouldn't let you have to sleep in grease. I couldn't live with myself if I let your hair become greasy like Snivellus'!"

"Oh please mine would never be that disgusting." Lily shuddered at the thought of her hair looking like that. "I mean I actually bathe." She whispered knowing full well that this would probably start a set of roaring laughter.

Then in a laugh she added a quick, "You do know he asked me out in fifth year right after the OWLs - I mean, right after calling me that...you would have probably fallen over laughing at my most epic response." Lily laughed.

"I mean, you haven't heard a response like this - I said I'd rather date a Porcupine and he did the exact response he'd do as a sniveling idiot..." she still laughed, "Well he said a quick Wouldn't that hurt?. And well, I had to hold from laughing when I added my last little remark Thats the point." She sighed, "I never said anything like that to you did I?" Lily asked apprehensively, her look honestly a mix of quizzical and concerned...and maybe a hint of apology mixed with adoration in there. She did after all have an infectious crush.

"Sorry I called you an arrogant toe rag."

James laughed. "You're kidding me? Snivellus asked you out after that! Nice reply by the way!" He continued grinning after stopping laughing. "And no, you never had that brilliant a reply. Usually after I got you angry you would just hex me, hit me or yell at me."

"It's okay, I suppose I was pretty arrogrant but a toe rag, well I am not even close to that!" He sighed dramatically. "Well I suppose I forgive you for the toe rag part." Putting a charming smile on, he looked at her.

"I'm sorry that I was so rude then. To make it up to you, you can have a free prank at Snape, with the assistance of the awesomely awesome Marauders of course!"

"Oh that would go against my personal moral compass - how about I'll just watch and not say anything about it?" Lily asked chuckling - the rain stopping suddenly. It was nice they were thoroughly soaked and well she was lucky enough to have worn a camisole tank top under her button-up shirt. Otherwise she'd be scantily clad.

"Maybe a hilarious response would have been better than smacking and hitting then?" She asked raising an eyebrow teasingly. It was obvious she was flirting more so because she had blush creeping into her cheeks as she stood there talking to him laughing the entire time.

She did the most obvious of flirt moves - the arm grab as she was laughing. His muscles felt absolutely splendid. "Maybe I could help you all with potions class instead of a free prank? Make him look like an idiot in his best subject."

As the rain stopped, James couldn't help but be glad that the cold water wasn't going to keep wetting his glasses. It was getting hard to see out of them. Quickly wiping them dry, or at least vaguely seeable out of, James looked at her.

"I definitly would have prefered hilarious comebacks to hitting." His mind went to the back of his head where she had once hit him. He still remembered the burn of it. Merlin she had strength. Huh, she probably would be good at Quidditch.

Thinking about her offer for a moment, James contemplated all the ups. Free tutoring in potions, extra time with Lily and a chance to show up Snivellus. "Deal!" He exclaimed suddenly. Feeling Lily grab onto his arm, he grinned.

She was flirting. He knew all the tricks. Though never had he been as excited to be flirted with. None of the girls had anything on Lily to him.

Suddenly remembering before what he had been thinking about before, Quidditch, James put on his most smouldering smile.

"Lily, you know how before I pointed out that you hit and hex me. Well I remembered how hard you hit. You have good strength and I would like to point out how useful that can be in Quidditch. How about it? You want to try out for Quidditch?"

"Fine, I'll try - I don't know how good I will be on a broom though." Lily laughed, "wouldn't that mean I'd have to call you captain sometimes - if I got onto the team that is?" She raised an eyebrow making herself look as though she was joking and being serious at the same time. A hard look to master - kind of like the dog tilting its head its so cute, and it looks so confused at the same time.

"Did I ever hurt you badly? I mean?" Lily asked biting the edge of her lip absentmindedly obvious drawing attention to that region of her face. Her body, her mind, were flirting without herself realizing all the way it was absent minded because it was what she wanted and would never do on her own.

"Wouldn't that also be good to learn so I can get out of sticky situations?" Lily asked rocking back and forth slightly where she stood. "If you want you could give me some pointers because I don't know what spot I would be good at and you being Captain this year probably would have a better bet than I would."

With a laugh Lily added a quick joke, "I mean I remember when we watched the mini-game in your town and well, I called a Quaffle a Waffle."

"I'll help you. Besides, I have my broom here now. Might as well help you when you don't have people around to watch you fail!" James teased, flirting right back. He just wanted to kiss her, but resisted.

"You never hurt me that bad." A voice in James' head screamed liar at him, but he pushed it out of mind. Sure he might have had a bruise in his arm once, but he was a manly man and manly men don't admit when they have or had injuries.

"So anyway, I'll help you now. Get on the broom-" he said holding it out to her. "-and grip it like this." James instructed.

"Now really?" Lily asked, her jaw dropping in quasi fear. "No telling your friends if I fail miserably." She laughed, knowing it would be a hard thing to keep from them seeing her on a broom. She took a step closer to where he was holding the broom, she saw how he was holding it and grabbed onto the broom the way he was holding it.

She swung her leg on and sat on it. "If I fall please try and catch me." She pleaded looking him in the eyes, her eyes large and almost scared - but it was more nerves than anything else.

"And thank you for helping me James" Lily smiled, her hand slipping somewhat, purposefully, so that her hand touched his.

"Dont worry, you'll do fine. Besides if you do start to fall trust that I won't let you be injured or killed. I won't tell a soul if you fail horribly at this." He gave her a small smile.

"You're welcome." He said, almost shouting in happiness as she touched his hand. James looked down at where she was touching his hand and back up to Lily's eyes.

Still seeing worry and nerve in them, James sighed. "Lily, don't worry. You will not fall. If you are seriously worried I can ride with you for the first time so you get an idea of how to do it." Sure he was laying the moves on thick, but she didn't seem to be angry at him for it.

"Well seeing as I'm absolutely petrified that might be a good idea." Lily spoke nervously, most of it, hell all of it was a complete and utter lie but she thought it might be a way to see if she really did like him - if she could manage to fly with him on the broom as well.

She looked over to James, and gave him a soft smile, "Thank you for the help James" she look doe eyed and flirty at that exact moment a look that could turn any man or woman at that nobby kneed and well feel as though they were in love.

Having been wandering around a bit himself having arrived in Hogsmeade with James and Lily when they apparated from his home away from home, Sirius finally came to the quidditch pitch. His broom left behind at the moment, he simply stared out remembering all his previous times in the air as he played. As he did so, his gaze finally graced upon his best mate and the girl James had been crushing on unsuccessful for years, both seeming ovlivious to him and acting all friendly like they had at the house.

"You know...if I didn't know better I'd swear one or both of you had been confunded over the summer," he commented from his place at the fence of the field. The seventh year leaning against it smoothly with his arms crossed.

"Padfoot!" He shouted, leaping at his best friend. "I wasn't compulsed, though I don't know about Lily here!" He grinned at his best mate.

When a Slytherin cam over, James' hand moved to his wand in his pocket before he took a deep breath to calm down. Not all Slytherins are evil, Lily only gave you permission to hex one, Snivellus, James thought to himself.

Putting a small fake smile on he looked at the Slytherin. "Hi."

Then she heard a rather familiar voice. Peaches Stumble was the name everyone called her.

"Hi Peaches," Lily gave her a soft smile, as Peaches wasn't all bad she wasn't like Snape that is.

Hearing Peaches question of being on the team she smiled, "I'm not but apparently I've hit him pretty hard when he would hex people and well...yeah apparently having a strong arm is a good trait in quidditch." She smiled. "But i'd probably yell throw me the Waffle in the middle of the game." She was of course being both fake-friendly and truly friendly at the same time. Besides she could ruin someones year at Hogwarts that year with her well, Head Girl badge there.

"Chasers the one who flies around passing the waf-quaffle thingy right?" Lily asked fixing her mistake mid word. He would definitely notice since he was so good at sport. And she, so not.

James grinned at Lily, accepting the broom back. "Yeah another time." He said with a kind smile.

Listening to Lily reply to Peaches, he took a small chance to think about what he could do as a prank on Snape. Maybe gender change... colour his hair different? Hearing Lily address him, James started paying attention again.

"Yeah the Chaser is the one who passes aroudn the quaffle." His eyes were full of amusement at her mid sentence fumble of the word quaffle.

"Are you making fun of me?" Lily laughed, furrowing her brow in more of a playful way than any other way. In a way Lily was using the look he had given her as a means to flirt once more, even more discretely she thought. Still, the blush on her cheeks spoke shades of her flirting.

"Really all I really know is that Gin is the seeker - and that gets alot of points when you catch the golden-thing-a-ma-bob." Lily nodded as if she knew what she was talking about, the abrupt laughing cued that she had no idea.

Ginerva Kensington walked down the stairs of her house. She probably had the easiest commute of anyone - she lived in Hogsmeade. She grabbed her broom her bags already on the platform ready to appear in the school like magic. She jumped on her broom and flew to the gate which was now open to students only. Jumping off of her broom she walked through the gate - a strange pulsing zap penetrating her skin a certain spell that dispelled polyjuice potions.

She jumped on her broom, flying to the quidditch pitch her hair up in two identical braids - she sat above the pitch for a while, on her broom unseen. Watching, eyeing everyone, mainly watching the fact that Lily Evans, one of her best friends was flirting amiably with the arrogant toe rag or that was what Lily called him.

She flew down landing next to Sirius Black. "Padfoot." She didn't care for formalities she had accidentally seen him transform into a big black dog one day near the whomping willow. "So Black hows it going?" She asked, poking him in the side of his stomach.

"Those two are definitely going to snog by the end of this week" Gin predicted with a laugh - "that or they will hitch up and finally go steady after well...years of persistent asking and asking."

"OY! Potter hows it going? Trying to teach this lovely ginger how to play quidditch?" She asked laughingly.

"Making fun of you? I would never!" James exclaimed loudly, dropping the broom lightly on the ground before making exaggerated hand movements of shock.

"And don't worry about not knowing the rules, I'll make sure you know them all before try outs. Quidditch isn't a joke and all must know the rules." He suddenly sounded very serious. Well Quidditch was a serious matter...

"Oh, hey Gin!" James said. "Why yes I am. She must know the rules at least. Though I would have thought you'd have taught her the basic stuff before now." James said jokingly.

"Oi ease up!" Sirius let out as he was jumped at by James, the boy relatively oblivious that his friend's feeling of his appearance was a mixed one. He did catch Lily's look but couldn't quite place what he saw there in her eyes. "Hello Lily," he greeted in return before turning as they were joined by another.

"Hi..." he greeted Peaches, exchanging a raised eyebrow with the others once she wasn't looking in his direction. His history with Slytherins wasn't the best mostly due to his sorting into Gryffindor years earlier, his newly blood-traitor status would no doubt make it more ackward. "Hello Lily," he greeted in return before turning as they were joined by another.

The seventh year bended to escape further pokes in his stomach. "Meh..." he answered glad to be at school again but knowing it meant back to dealing with those like his brother and the other Slytherins who no doubt knew by rumor of his family problems. Of his friends and actual acquaintances only James and Lily knew having shared only a little with the latter till he gave in realising technically they both lost family so recently though only the redhead to death.

"Either is likely," he commented quietly to Gin, "Though both make sure this term will certainly be interesting." Sirius couldn't help perking up and returning his attention to James and Lily at the mention of tryouts. "So you're seriously joining us this term?"

"Apparently I have a strong arm...and this one" she pointed at James, "probably wouldn't let me not try out." She laughed, "maybe the other team will think I'm a complete joke if I say pass me the waffle in the middle of a game." She was making fun of her self.

"And you are definitely making fun of me." She stated as she walked, well more skipped over to Sirius and Ginerva. "So how are you two lovely friends doing?" She asked bubbly very bubbly it could have been the ecstasy of falling for someone.

"A most interesting one." She laughed, "So? how has your summer been? I heard from my brother that you were considered a well 'blood traitor'." She sighed, then added a quick "good for you - I was well kicked out this summer as well...because I wanted to go back to school - my parents didn't think it would be safe." She rolled her eyes.

Watching as Lily skipped over - it only made it impossible not to laugh. "Hello Evy," she chuckled smiling at her friend.

"You know if they think you're a complete joke, they would probably laughing, making them easy targets... Actually, that might be a good idea... Distracting them..." James thought about it for a moment.

Watching as Lily skipped over to Gin and Sirius, James followed slowly. Standing next to Sirius, he smirked.

"Padfoot, you in the mood for a bit of a prank? Lily gave us full reign on Snape." James grinned evilly.

"She what?" Gin exclaimed, her jaw dropping. "Is my best friend here learning how to stand up for herself?" She smiled slyly, "If you and the marauders need any help - as Evans' evil twin I will be more then willing to well join your prank. Besides I hate that git. He smells bad." She was honest, to a fault, and that was probably why most of the school didn't exactly get alone with Kensington.

Lily suddenly had an idea a way to see if there was a well spark. She leaned in and whispered something to Gin. "I'm going to check something out love," she smiled she always called her girl friends Love. It was her endearing name for them. She smiled, giving a quick glance to James, her eyes soft. She looked as though she was up to something - and that was true.

"Okay Lil, where are you off to?" Ginerva asked running a hand through her hair as Lily began to walk off. She was confused, she had no idea what she was doing but she knew eventually she would know what was going on in that girls head.

Lily smirked as Ginerva asked her where she was going. She didn't answer, she just simply turned and walked into a different part of the pitch - one where she was hidden from view. She was in a sense trying to get someone's attention - without calling their names or doing anything. She quickly began to climb up the stairs to the stadium seating where she took a seat next to the bird Gin had charmed into existence in first year - it didn't dive-bomb her or Lily, it only dive bombed every other student who wasn't a gryffindor.

Did he follow? She thought looking around anxiously. As there was no game going on sitting in the pitch was probably deemed off limits, or just a little bit bizarre.

James' brow furrowed as he saw Lily walk off. The look in her eyes was similar to the one Sirius wore when he had come up with a particularly brilliant prank.

"I'll be back." James muttered, following Lily.

He walked into a part of the pitch that wasn't able to be seen. Seeing Lily sitting next to a bird, he moved up to her, sitting down next to her.

"Hey Lily, why'd you come here?" James asked curiously.
