Katrina shook her head. "It gives you bad breath," she pointed out. Nutritious? Not really but it was yummy!! That made up for everything it wasn't good for. Including her health. But it's alright, chocolate wasn't exactly good for you but people ate it anyways.
Katrina noticed that he was blushing or something and gave him a bit of a half smile, turning her head then slightly so he couldn't see her bright red face. After she took a deep breath and trusting her face to be pale again or something she said, "Alright then..." A bit awkward wasn't it... hmm... ice cream. Coffee flavored ice cream. No, strawberry. That was her favorite. "So... when do you wanna go for ice cream?" she asked. Katrina was fail. Think. Of. Something. Better. to. Say! Uggggh.
Bad breath. Of all the things to say, she pointed out the bad breath. He immediately became paranoid - did he have bad breath?! Oh dear god. "That's true.." He kinda mumbled, not opening his mouth too much, incase he had bad breath..
Jamie's grin widened when he saw that Katrina was blushing too. That made him feel slightly better. There was still the incredibly awkward feel in the air though. Hm. Jamie had to do something about that.
THINK!
Ah, man, she wanted HIM to decide. He stood there, rubbing his chin theatrically, to show he was thinking. Argh, this was too stressful. Here's an idea... "I suggested WHAT we do, so it's up to you to choose WHEN." He grinned at her. Yeaaaaah. The ball was in her court, or whatever it was people said.

"I suggested WHAT we do, so it's up to you to choose WHEN." He grinned at her. Yeaaaaah. The ball was in her court, or whatever it was people said.

"But... since you wanted to arrange this whole thing you should think and decide everything through not give up halfway and pin it on someone else to do," Katrina rambled. Whatever she was saying made no sense to her. She just knew she wasn't deciding on the date.

Aw man, they were never gonna decide! He decided to take the plunge. "Well, if your not doing anything after work..." He muttered. She would say no, and he would have to quit is job immediately and go back to Liverpool. FOOOL!

The wonderful world of introductions! Hiding a smirk Scarlett said cheerily "Pleasure to meet you Jayden." First employee of her division she had met so far. Oh jolly. "Yes you are indeed correct. I'm you're new boss. Scarlett Sinclair newly employed as the replacement of Ingrid Johansson." Looking Jayden over she asked "Were the three figurines still wrecking havoc on the level when you left?" It was prefered to get an update on the situation. Knowing what was going on was after all an essential bit to being in charge of a division.
"Afriad so." Jayden said. "I wonder if John brought them in... or if they were just on his desk." he said. That, and who would want to attack the department of transportation? They weren't exactly a prime target.
Maybe someone was just that angry about their broomstick?

Jamie was puzzled by Scarlett's sharp cut off. What was wrong with being new to a position? It showed she had worked hard to get to be a Division Head. "Oh, well, I see congratulations are in order. Good luck with your new post then." He said cheerily. Because he was nice like that. Yup.
Hmm, okay well that was something, right? When they went back in, maybe she could point them in the direction of this desk. Damn his poor timing! If he had turned up earlier, he may have witnessed this mutantbadgerlionsnakeraven thanggg. Eh.
Jamie grinned awkwardly, and glowed red again. He was very rarely embarassed, but he usually sucked at this kinda thing. To be honest, he was suprised she agreed. "Okay. Great. Perfect." He said, in a slightly higher voice than normal. What a douche. He smiled a crooked smile again. He didn't want to choose a time; that might me too forward of him. He was pushing his luck already. Yeah, she could decide when.
Eh? Jamie congratulated her on her position. Scarlett had just been a tad disgruntled by the whole figurine buisness and port key ride. *Sigh* She needed to work on her people skills apparently. "Thank you! Sorry if i snapped at you. I just got a lot to think about." Scarlett said with sincerity. She still hadn't adjusted into her position fully and the figurines hadn't exactly made matters easier. "If you ever need help with anything Jamie and that applies to you too Katrina. Just ask, I may not be your boss but that shouldn't keep you from asking questions."
Scarlett watched the interaction between Jamie and Katrina seeing signs of a budding romance already. Some people had it easy. Others not so much. Now where were the other division heads hiding?

John??? Blinking she asked "Who is John? Is it someone who works in the apparition division?" She thought she had read up on all the employees in her division no John had been among them. The ministry was though a place that changed employees frequently so it was possible that John could have left before she started her position.
Scarlett's mood dropped. The figurines would probably tear the whole level apart. Sighing she asked "Jayden, has someone went to get help from magical maintenance or the muggle office? I hope Mr Recard wont tackle the figurines on his own." The whole office had worked against the three alive figurines to pretty much no avail.
Jamie smiled at Katrina. At least someone understood what he was going through. "I get it. If you ever do need to talk, though, you know where I am.." Where Serene would eat the house and pretend she didn't and all the candy canes on the tree would go missing from her father. Then there would be the hidden presents from her brother. However she was looking forward to it. "Uhm... you?" she asked, not really sure if she should've asked that.

Katrina laughed and nodded. "Yeah, that's where all the caffeine addicts seem to hang out doesn't it? Well, if you ever need me I'll probably be at a cafe or something too," she pointed out. Weeh, go caffeine addicts! Hehe. "Exactly, I don't know why but ice cream always seems to taste better in the winter time, when it's already freezing cold," Katrina said. She had absolutely no idea as to why but it was delicious in the cold. Not so much in the summer.
Katrina was a bit quiet when he said that and without thinking things through she said, "You can come spend Christmas with me and my family if you want." Her face growing pink, she could blame that on the weather though. It would be sad to be spending Christmas alone without your family. "That is, if you're not going back that is," Katrina added hastily, making herself seem more of an idiot. Smart, Katrina, really smart.

Laura came tumbling. She was a whirlwind of blond hair. Or at least, that's what she felt as she was transported by the boot Portkey. Nooo way could she have known that morning that she would soon be caught up in such a mess. Where was she now?
When at last recovered from her little trip, Laura stood up straight and brushed herself off, looking around. The place looked vaguely familiar, like a sidewalk that she had passed more than once. Ahh! There were some people she knew.
"Oh, goodness," she sighed, approaching her co-workers. Her toes were cold. Daaarn. She looked down at her bare feet in disappointment.
Well, that would have to wait. Where were the other division heads? Laura looked around. Oh, Merlin, they were all new, right? For some reason, her brain wasn't functioning correctly and she could hardly remember who they were. Ah, well.
"Hey!" she called, hesitation in her voice. "Hey, Level Six people!" she called again, this time louder and with more certainty. She hoped she wasn't drawing Muggle attention to herself. "Can everyone just come around over here? We need to figure out who's present and if anyone was left at the office," she said.

Scarlett heard another thump behind which announced somebody else had been transported to the sidewalk outside the ministry by the horrible boot port key. Turning around she was the blond whom had introduced herself as Laura earlier in the day before chaos broke loose. Another Division head!
Walking towards her Scarlett called out "Hey, Laura! Is Armen getting help with the elusive figurines?" If not than why were they here and not helping out or at least fetching reinforcements.

Jamie nodded thoughtfully. "I think because in the winter your ice cream doesn't melt within two seconds of buying it." He laughed. All this talk of ice cream made him want some now. He wasn't sure if he could hold out til tomorrow. Maybe he'd go and stop by Florean's before going home...
Jamie's eyes widened. That was... sweet? Yeah, it was, but it was also kinda fast. Okay, no kinda. It was verrry fast. But... there was something about Katrina that made him think that it didn't matter. He felt... well, he didn't know how to describe it. Typical. He wanted to say yes so bad it was insane. He didn't want to let her down. But could he be around people at this time of year? He was pretty sure that he would be in a foul mood the entire holiday, and if he was meeting her family *gulp*, he didn't want them to think he was a grumpy idiot. "I don't think I'll be in a very... festive mood this Christmas. I don't want to inflict my misery on you and your family. But if I don't go home, I might take you up on it." He replied carefully. Gah, he felt like such a horrible person. He hoped Katrina wouldn't take it the wrong way. "Thanks, though." He said sincerely.

She fiddled with her watch's strap again, because his reaction was kinda weird. It wasn't like she was rushing into things, she just felt bad and his reaction made her seem like she was a terrible person. "Alright then," Katrina said, giving him a small smile. With everything she doubted that he would come over anyways. "Just don't want you to be alone for Christmas, it's a happy time of year," she explained. Being alone staring at the tellie the whole time? Not exactly an ideal way to spend Christmas.
Katrina was a bit shocked when he grabbed her hand and blushed a bit following him over to the lady that had just arrived. "Hello, I'm Katrina Rayne," she said, smiling at the division head who had landed a bunch more gracefully than most had.

Yeah, that was a bit of an exaggeration, but a few days after Christmas it would be the one year anniversary of his twins death. So, in the circumstances, maybe not an exaggeration. Jamie chuckled quietly as she rambled. And blushed. Okay, not quite blushing, more like... turning into a giant strawberry. *teehee* Strawberries were his favourite fruit though... Okay, enough about food. HIs stomach would start to rumble, and THAT was not cool.
He took his hand away from her chin. He smiled broadly at her. She was just too cute for her own good, wasn't she? "You don't have to explain. I know why you invited me, and it was very generous offer. I promise I'll think about it, and let you know asap." He replied.
Yeah, he would think about it. Everytime she spoke, his resolve not to be near anyone at this time of year wavered ever so slightly. Maybe if he was with Katrina, he wouldn't be as bad. Afterall, he would have someone to distract him, rather than watching the Sound of Music for the umpteenth time in his dark flat. Fuuuuuun.
