Nate had had a busy week. In fact, busy was an understatement. What with run away figurines he was pretty sure that busy was the tip of the business iceberg. But that didn't matter really. It was over now.
He readjusted his orange bowtie and headed towards muggle London, humming a show tune to himself.

Katrina landed here and wondered where everyone else might be. Ehhh. Figurines, tired. Could she go home yet? She decided it was best to wait to see if others arrived first. Katrina looked at the ticking watch on her left wrist. Okay, if they weren't here within thirty minutes it was okay for her to go home... she hoped.

Jamie landed with a thud on the pavement. Owwww. He looked up and saw the girl he had seen in the office a second ago. "Umm, hey. Katrina, right?" He thought that was her name, she had said it earlier, but it was kinda crazy in there. "Do you know whats going on?" He asked. What a fab first day. Noooooooot.
Katrina turned. Okay, so she wasn't going to be standing and waiting. all she hoped was that the badger didn't go unfrozen and that the rest of them didn't get smart and touch a portkey as well. Then... well... there'd be chaos all over the place. "Yeah, and if I'm correct, you're Jamie?" she said. Katrina wasn't one hundred percent sure but she was pretty sure. What exactly was going on? "I'm not really sure, I just showed up at work for my first day and bam. Next thing you know figurines were attacking me, the badger went all ninja and someone enlarged them all so now they're huge. The badger also made the office supplies attack us," Katrina said.
Those figurines were going down and Katrina was going to keep the ninja badger. Hehehe.

Jamie grinned as he brushed off remaining dust from his new, navy blue suit. Thank god he had dressed muggle-ish today. He nodded. "Yup. Jamie." He grinned lopsidedly at the girl. She looked about a year younger than him, he'd guess.
"Wow, sounds insane. Hope all work days are as exciting as this." He joked, wondering if they ever got any work done, or if it was just crazy, manic animals attacking them every day of the week. "So, what department are you in?" He asked, mentally kicking himself. Duh, she was in Magical Transportation, idiot. "I mean, like, what division?" He added hastily, trying to make up for his stupidity. Damn him being a boy and getting confused when talking to pretty girls. He had always been a sucker for blonde girls. Get a grip, Jamie. He said to himself.
Katrina giggled. "Exciting maybe but tiring," she point out with a smile. Ah well, the figurines should be gone sooner or later, hopefully. Maybe the department of Magical Accidents will get them out. She was not looking forward to going back to a messy office, maybe someone could clean everything out and hopefully return those chewed up documents... eep.
"Department of Magical Transportation," Katrina said, giggling and stating the obvious. Shouldn't he know that though? Because they had met in the offices after all. Whatever, best not to mention it. "Oh, uhm... broom regulatory, you?" Katrina asked.

Jamie nodded. "Yeah, that's true, I guess. Ah well, they'll be gone soon, I suppose." Maybe the Regualtion and Control of insane and stupid Magical Creatures would come and sort out the mess. They better. He hadn't been there to make the mess.
He cursed in his mind when she replied. Gah, he must look like a complete idiot. Jeez. "Oh, cool. Floo Network." He replied, pointing at himself. "So, how are you, um, enjoying your first day? Can't say your works boring, I suppose?" He grinned again.
Where was everyone else?? How long was he going to have to stand in the November chill, trying to make small talk with a girl obviously out of his league. Maybe he should leave? Make a polite excuse, and shuffle off to the nearest tube station. Trouble was, he had no clue where in London they were. Oh dear.
Katrina smiled. "Yeah, I hope so, it's quite chaotic back there," she said. She glanced around the sidewalk wondering where she was and where everyone else was. Mmm... she had no idea.
Katrina thought about it. "Floo network? Cool," she said. Katrina wasn't exactly a big fan of flooing people and the whatnot but it worked. "Hahaha, yeah, it's quite... interesting," she said, biting her lower lip in thought. "How about you?" she asked. Even though he had just arrived before he left.
Katrina looked around again. Well, they were outside the Ministry, that was for sure. "Any idea where everyone else might be?" she asked with a bit of a nervous chuckle.

Jamie smiled again. "Yeah, it's been... eventful, I guess. First 10 minutes, and I get attacked by a giant bird, and a demented snake, then get whisked out of the office, onto a pavement,and.... here we are." He concluded, with a little chuckle.
Jamie mimicked Katrina, looking around. "Ermmmmmm. No. I'm sure they'll be coming soon." He said. Yeah, like he knew they were on their way. He was looking stupider and stupider. *siiiiigh* "Do you know where we are? I know we're somewhere in London, but I have no clue where, exactly. I'm new to the area." He grinned again. Waaaay too much information for the poor girl.
Katrina nodded sympathetically. "Yeah, I wish whoever it was didn't enlarge them," she giggled. Oh, she wished she didn't show up today. It was super tiring battling against those things. A hectic day and she wanted her latte and to crawl into bed like a little kid.
Katrina looked around again. "Uhm..." she said, blushing because she was embarrassed that she had lived in London for so long and still had absolutely no idea where she was. She turned in a full three-sixty to look around. Catching sight of the red telephone booth she smiled. "Isn't that the way into the Ministry?" she asked as she pointed at it. "If it is, we're just outside of it," she said, relieved she wasn't lost.

Scarlett FINALLY came to halt as she landed uncermionously on the pavement "Cursed port keys! Can't they ever make you land smoothly." The dark haired division head continued to curse some more before she took a look around. Why where they outside on the sidewalk. Had someone else stepped in to finish off the figurines. Noticing the other two people up front she headed over. Scarlett figured if she was going to have to wait for MR boss man to arrive than she might just well do it in good company. Adjusting her dark locks she called out "Hey, Katrina and Jamie was it? I'm Scarlett. Division head on Level 6. You both did well back there with the figurines." She usually had lousy name memory unless she really worked on remembering a person's name. The lousy memory she had unfortunatley inherited from her grandmother. Now where was everyone else? Mr Recard hadn't sent them out here for nothing right?

He looked in the direction Katrina pointed to, and saw a red phonebooth. Entrance to the Ministry? Well that was news to him. Weirdddddd. "Uh, I don't know. I'm new to London. I'm actually from Liverpool, so I have no clue where I am right now." He grinned, hiding his embarassment. Maybe he should have come down before hand, to get the feel of the area. Ah, well, what better way to start, right? "Let's hope so, aye? I'm putting my faith in you." He said, looking at the girl in a jokey sort of way. She sounded like she was from around London. Let's put that to the test. *griiiiiin*

YES! This meant they weren't lost! Jamie strolled forward, hand extended toward the lady who had introduced herself as Scarlett, a 'Division Head'. At least there was someone who knew where they were. "Yeah, it's Jamie. Nice to meet you, Ms. Scarlett." He said smiling. "What division are you head of?" He asked, sounding interested. "You don't happen to know where we are, do you? Me and Katrina aren't 100% sure." He said, turning to smile at Katrina again.

Katrina smiled as the Division Head arrived. She was starting to believe that they were in the wrong place. "It's nice to meet you Scarlett," she said, extending her hand for the woman to shake. "Yes, I am Katrina," she said. Katrina wondered what department head she was but Jamie had already asked it so best not repeat right? Right. The woman didn't seem too happy about the portkey either. Katrina didn't blame her, those things made her stomach churn a bit.
Katrina giggled at what Jamie said. "Maybe, but maybe we'll lock you up in a room with them first," she teased. Katrina would never do that though, because she was a good girl. Mmhmm. "But I do agree, we should find out who did this," Katrina said with a nod of her head.
Ooh. That made more sense now. "Oh, I see, well then, welcome to London," Katrina said with a smile. She had lived in London for pretty much her whole life, but she was quite forgetful when it came to streets and names. Hehehe. Placing his faith in her?! Eep. She sure hoped she wasn't lost then! "Alright fine, but if I'm wrong you can buy me a latte," Katrina said with a smirk. She wanted her coffee. Katrina blushed a bit as he gave her that second smile and turned her head the other way so he wouldn't see her pink-tinged cheeks.

Perfect, why did everyone new you met always have to shake your hand? Didn't they know that you could get germs from each other? Hiding her distaste with a neutral face Scarlett moved to shake Jamies hand. "Pleasure to meet you too, Jamie!" And then the unavoidable ranking thing started.
"I'm division head of the Apparition test center. In what division do you work in?" Scarlett added with some curiosity and a smile. If he belonged to her division then she was going to make sure that she kept him there. Jamie seemed like an asset to level 6 so far.
Where they were? Wasn't it obvious? Apprently not. Scarlet bit away a harsh comment and instead said softly. "We are outside the ministry building here in london." Pointing to the phonebooth she added "That's the visitors entrance to the ministry. We are supposed to wait here for Mr Recard to arrive with further instructions."

Hearing what the other two spoke about made her ask "Are you two discussing who it could have been who unleashed the figurines in the office?" Get the facts stright before jumping into things was always a good rule. Scarlett knew that from previous experience. Conversations could go weird if you didn't know what people were talking about.

Jamie rearranged his face to look scared at her words. "Ah, not the giant bird!" He mocked cried, then winked at her to show he was joking. "Hmm, I wonder where to begin..." He mused. It wasn't like he knew anybody, it was his first day, afterall. He shrugged. "It's a mystery to me. We'll have to solve it." He said seriously, then grinned at her.
Jamie nodded at Katrina. "Thanks. I've never been to London before, believe it or not. It's... big." He finished lamely. Yeah, big was one word for it... He chuckled. "Caffeine addict too, huh? Okay, it's a deal." He said, winking again. Boy did he love his coffee. Those muggles were good at making the perfect wake-up for an early morning.

Jamie smiled. "Floo network. First day, and I'm yet to get to work!" He joked. he was quite looking forward to working at the Ministry. Nerd."I prefer Apparating, though. When I passed, I Apparated everywhere." He grinned. He had been vaiiiiiiry lazy in those following two weeks. He had landed on his twin, Jonny's head, once. Good times.
Jamie nodded. Ah, the visitors entrance. That made sense; he had come in the workers way obviously. "Oh, that makes alot more sense. Thanks. I'm new to London; only moved down a few weeks ago when I heard I got the job." He explained; he didn't want a Division Head to think he was an idiot now, did he? No.
He nodded again. "Yes, we are. Do you have any idea?" Jamie thought if anyone did, it would be her. She was a Division Head, afterall. Maybe, whoever did this, had let the Heads know? Made sense to him.

Or might you have seen who did it?" Katrina asked. Because she wasn't sure what happened before she arrived. First day on the job, first time being attacked by a figurine and her first time wishing she could quit right then and there then crawl back home. And then ice cream therapy.
Katrina giggled at what Jamie said. "Yeah, the lion too," she said, blushing a bit. Then she nodded. "PI Jamie and PI Katrina on the job," Katrina said jokingly. Awh, that sounded nice. PI Katrina. Hmm... she wondered if there was a way to keep that title.
"It kind is, I still get lost," Katrina said, in obvious embarrassment, wondering why she even said that. Ugh. Stupid her. Caffeine addict? "No not really... kinda... maybe..." Katrina said sheepishly. Hehehe... she really did need to give that up. Hearing that they were outside the Ministry she grinned. "Looks like you owe me that latte," she said, giggling slightly. Free coffee? She was there!

Jayden stumbled for a few seconds before he regained his balance. He was never a fan of portkeys... which was why he was glad he was not in that department. No, he was quite content with apparition.
Rubbing his head a little he looked around. "Where are we?" he asked. And what made little figurines decide to send them here?

Jamie grinned as he saw Katrina's face glow red. Hmm. "Sounds good. Ministry workers by day, undercover agents by night." He joked, picturing them both in ninja outfits...
Jamie laughed. "Don't lie! I'm a caffeine addict too, don't worry. It's nothing to be ashamed of." He grinned at Katrina. Dang it, she had been right. "Ooookay, one teeny tiny latte for you then." He joked. He was a man of his word, and he would take her for a coffee... someday... *shifty*

Either way, Katrina did love her coffee. The perfect aroma to wake up to as well. "Hahaha, very funny," Katrina giggled, punching him lightly near his shoulder.

How exciting! That's another one off his bucket list.
"I'm Jayden. Jayden Monroe." he said shaking Jamie's hand. "Is today you're first day...?" he asked.

"Jayden." Jayden said shaking hands with Katrina. Wow, it had been a very exciting morning. And so many new people had just been hired. He hoped that they wouldn't be scared off.
And speaking of new people...
He spotted the woman who was his new boss. "Hello. I'm Jayden." he said to her. "And I believe you're my new boss."

Jamie grinned. "Too right! Especially if we're working aaand undercover at night. Can you imagine how tired we're gonna be?! We're gonna neeeeed caffeine!" He laughed. Pfft. Like he didn't neeeeed it now.
Jamie theatrically grabbed his arm when she punched him. "Ow. Okay, Okay, if you're gonna beat me up, I'll get you a large latte!" He joked, putting his hands up in defense. "Maybe an icecream afterwards?" He suggested, going slightly pink, and looking at his shoes so his hair fell into his eyes. In his defense, he was veryyyy hungry. Battling giant animals builds up your appitiete, you know.
Jamie nodded at Jayden. "Yup, first day. Eventful, right?" He joked. Just a bit. *eyerolllll*
A right pity! Was Scarlett's first reaction when Jamie announced that he worked in the floo network. Maybe she could persuade Andrew the weird guy to borrow Jamie when there was trouble looming in her division. Nodding Scarlett said "We'll i'm sure you will get to work with floo soon enough. I'm new too--" she trailed off. Announcing to employees that she was new to her position might not boost their confidence in her as a head person.
"Yes, well apparating certainly trumphs flooing any day." Scarlett mumbled absent mindedly to Jamie thinking about the troublesome figurines again. With the lion, badger and raven wrecking havoc there had been no time to investigate the work area for leads. Turning her attention back to Jamie she said "I might have some ideas but I don't know if they are worth anything since we are standing in muggle london." Scarlett didn't add that the ideas were just pure speculation.

Was it advisable for employees to be playing detective? She wasn't entirely sure But Scarlett wasn't going to be the one to stick a pin in initiative. When Katrina too prodded for her what she might know she decided to let them in."Well the first obvious lead was that on each desk in the cubicle area something came to life but on one desk in particular several things came to life thus being the origin. But being new to the department i have no idea which employee works at that desk." It was quite truthful and didn't give away anything that the employees couldn't figure out on their own.

Why did each employee who came through the port key ask the same thing. She knew where they were and so must they. Peering at the guy she thought him familiar. Didn't he work in her division. Jay something? Scarlett was debating wheter to state the obvious but Jamie go there first.

The wonderful world of introductions! Hiding a smirk Scarlett said cheerily "Pleasure to meet you Jayden." First employee of her division she had met so far. Oh jolly. "Yes you are indeed correct. I'm you're new boss. Scarlett Sinclair newly employed as the replacement of Ingrid Johansson." Looking Jayden over she asked "Were the three figurines still wrecking havoc on the level when you left?" It was prefered to get an update on the situation. Knowing what was going on was after all an essential bit to being in charge of a division.

Katrina smiled. "Nice to meet you Jayden," she said. Network. Her dad's lessons came to mind immediately but maybe she should stop thinking so much...

Katrina rolled her eyes. "I didn't punch you that hard," she said, as if she was irritated but her smile on her face would give her away. She couldn't help it. A large latte? Heaven. "Maybe just a medium," Katrina said a bit quickly. Too much would be bad. Ice cream...? That didn't sound too bad, though there was a slight blush on her face. "Ice cream sounds great," Katrina said, smiling.

Katrina nodded. "Oh, I see," she said. Hmm... that was a lead. If Katrina could she would flip over some frayed notepad and with a black fountain pen she would take notes. Just like some of those detectives. How awesome would it be to dress up in a big old trench coat as well? Beyond awesome. "Alrights, thank you," she said with a smile, her eyes lighting up at this puzzle before her.

Jamie was puzzled by Scarlett's sharp cut off. What was wrong with being new to a position? It showed she had worked hard to get to be a Division Head. "Oh, well, I see congratulations are in order. Good luck with your new post then." He said cheerily. Because he was nice like that. Yup.
Hmm, okay well that was something, right? When they went back in, maybe she could point them in the direction of this desk. Damn his poor timing! If he had turned up earlier, he may have witnessed this mutantbadgerlionsnakeraven thanggg. Eh.
Pffft. Since when was coffee bad for you?! To Jamie, coffee was the best thing invented. "Nah, that's only a rumour. Coffee is actually very... nutritious..." He trailed off. Well that was a lie, but who cares? He was addicted to caffeine. That smelll.... Ahhhhh.
Jamie grinned awkwardly, and glowed red again. He was very rarely embarassed, but he usually sucked at this kinda thing. To be honest, he was suprised she agreed. "Okay. Great. Perfect." He said, in a slightly higher voice than normal. What a douche. He smiled a crooked smile again. He didn't want to choose a time; that might me too forward of him. He was pushing his luck already. Yeah, she could decide when.

Katrina shook her head. "It gives you bad breath," she pointed out. Nutritious? Not really but it was yummy!! That made up for everything it wasn't good for. Including her health. But it's alright, chocolate wasn't exactly good for you but people ate it anyways.
Katrina noticed that he was blushing or something and gave him a bit of a half smile, turning her head then slightly so he couldn't see her bright red face. After she took a deep breath and trusting her face to be pale again or something she said, "Alright then..." A bit awkward wasn't it... hmm... ice cream. Coffee flavored ice cream. No, strawberry. That was her favorite. "So... when do you wanna go for ice cream?" she asked. Katrina was fail. Think. Of. Something. Better. to. Say! Uggggh.
