Both of them were too paranoid to leave their children with a stranger, and they had no one they trusted enough to care for them. He also saw no one better to protect their children than their own mother, who was possessive and would give her life for theirs.
He looked between the two of them. "That must be a very special bond for the two of you, raising a girl who is considered both your daughters. How old is she?"

I was distraught after their death and the death of my friend, and I almost disgraced their memory because of that. I found it is only by moving on that I can cherish their memory and do them true honor."
He chuckled softly then, as if to break them out of the heaviness of the discussion. "As for children... yours is only a little older than my three. Perhaps we could set up a playdate some time. We're not expecting any more... Perhaps we'll have a large family, but certainly not soon. Rin will barely let me get near her after the triplets. Perhaps for fear of another three. They are a handful, after all."

"Sounds like a plan. Just drop by an owl and we can cinch it down." It would be interesting seeing how Rin took this little setup, their lifestyle considering, but he felt secure in it and hopefully Rinatta would be as well. If nothing else he could prepare an escape spell to help them all feel more secure.
