Well, they made a pair, now didn't they? He quietly put around a powerful warding circle that he and Slade had created that would let him know if anyone he didn't know went within proximity to his desk. He also put out lifeline feeler to keep track of the people who were there, and see if there was anyone he didn't know there. It would give him an image of whoever was approaching. Once he was done, he illusioned his desk to keep a look of order to it. Not that he wasn't normally organized and neat, keeping up on his work, but every so often he had something he shouldn't, and he would rather it take some time for someone to break past that.

"It was good speaking with you again." He nodded as she walked away, giving Marigold a few treats before turning back to his paper work that he began on. Not before flicking his eyes around the work area. Still pondering the visit they would soon be receiving.

Iris was most positive she was in the right place. Walking into the work area Iris looked around at the younger ministry workers, suddenly feeling extremely old. Though she knew she was a lot older than most of them...she was after all a 72 year old witch who had never worked a single day in her life.

"Excuse me!" Iris exclaimed waving her hand at no one in particular. She pulled a chair out from a nearby desk and sat down in it placing her purse on her lap she dug through it in search for her small piece of parchment that had all of her information on it that she should have memorized, but let's be honest, she couldn't remember it even if she wanted to.

"I'm looking for Armen Recard." Iris stated reading the name off of the parchment, wondering who would name their child Armen.

She knew that she didn't have to worry about the security check, yes she was a pregnant half veela but she can control her powers.

Erica's eyes flicked around the work cubicles as she made a few adjustments here and there, ones that would protect everyone in the cubicles from outside invasion. But she made it seem casual, almost natural. There really wasn't much to worry about after all. The man at the meeting, he didn't seem imposing to her, just, opinionated maybe? So as long as there were a few security checks here and there, the Blonde was entirely confident in her department. There wasn't anything he could say or do that would burst her bubble.

"Of course it will. There's nothing to worry about, he'll just take a while to get used to" especially with a nickname like the Ghost. She was fine. Perfectly fine. She hoped.

Oh dear goodness, was she starting to get her Department a little, daresay worried. She wasn't entirely sure how the other Department Heads were reacting to this. She wasn't particularly worried by him, nor was she apprehensive of him. For the Minister to have hired him, there must have been some element that she herself trusted, therefore so did Erica. After all, the Minister knows best.

"Yes. Mr Gevrik. He's just been appointed to that Department as it's head" she stated turning towards Nikos slightly, yet addressing the information to everyone. She looked down at his desk with a slight smirk but said nothing of it. This was for Security after all, not how organised her Department was.

Did this guy have a rabbit?

Like a fluffy, bouncy creature? *Blink*

Erica tilted her head slightly at the man and then down at the creature. Well this was a creature department but the clue was in the name.. 'Magical'. But had Erica actually met this guy yet? She didn't think so, nor had she remembered reading up on him yet. Maybe he was one of the employees on leave that had steeped back in.

"I'm Erica, Erica Radley. Your Department Head" she introduced herself quickly. No time for rambling there were things she needed to do first. "And who's this?" she asked, meaning both the man and his..pet.

Maybe she should have done those security spells earlier. The woman in her early thirties looked over at the woman who had walked straight into her Department. Now WHO exactly was she? Bless her soul, the elderly woman, who surely must have been in her 70's had walked into the wrong department.

Err... Well this was ever so slightly awkward.

The Creatures head walked over to her putting on a caring tone. "Excuse me love, but I think your on the wrong Department" she stated. "This is Magical Creatures, what YOUR looking for is Magical Transportation" she said. "I'm sure there's someone around here who wouldn't mind escorting you there if you think you won't be able to find your way" she smiled softly at the end.

"Fine with me, then. By the way, my desk is heavily warded with some older runic magic... just... be careful what you touch right now." There was no way anyone was doing something with his desk without his knowing about it. He even made sure no one could hide under it without a piercing alarm being sounded. He'd spent too long hiding himself and other... issues... from people to not be paranoid at the moment.

"I could escort her, if you wish. Or would you prefer your Division Heads be here?"

Iris looked up at the woman, slightly happy someone was finally paying attention to her. "Oh really?" Iris asked and gave a chuckle as she kept from rolling her eyes and telling the woman things that might get her fired on her very first day of work. "If you insist." Iris said with a slight smile shoving her parchment into her purse and standing up from the office chair.

"You know, I've always been getting lost wherever I go. Once, I went to the market, when I was living in India, and it was a market I had been to for years, and I just found myself walking and walking, until I realized I had no idea where I was!" Iris told the woman. "Forgive me, it's the first day at the ministry for me." She explained, "So my bearings are off completely." She said patting the woman on the shoulder.

"How far off am I? A level?" She asked, hoping there wasn't too much walking to do. Her legs were already aching just getting this far, she didn't want to have to back track to get to the right place. Iris was impressed with this woman, though she was overdoing her 'caring-ness' a little too much for Iris. But at least she was respectful; that earned a good grade in her book.

Iris rolled her eyes. She was still standing there, wasn't she? She didn't like the talking about her like she wasn't even there, because clearly, she was there. Iris moved the desk chair back to the desk and walked around the desk carefully as she looked about the room.

"Are we ready?" Iris asked the woman and then turning to the man. If they didn't leave soon, Iris couldn't guarantee to continue her nice behavior. "This reminds me of the time..." She trailed on, "Oh dear, I'm rambling again." She stated with a shrug, hoping that they caught the hint she wanted to be led to the correct place as soon as possible.

Erica put her wand back in her holster, satisfied that she had done enough, security, by now. It wasn't like she'd be fired or anything over it right? She was brand new, it would have been to the previous head to sort all that out riht? "Oh it's fine, I'm not gonna touch anything that doesn't belong to me... or my department" she smiled. "I just want to, make sure we are protected before our visitor comes" she continued on. Besides her talents lay with Magical Creatures, not Defense against the dark arts, she was only doing the best she could.

"If this lady would like you to" she answered, glancing momentarily over at the older woman. Couldn't forget that she was still there. "Its fine if you hurry back. As long as you are here before Mr Gevrik arrives, I'm perfectly happy for you to leave" she smiled again.




Oh dear we had a rambler here.

Erica politely nodded along, she didn't want to seem rude but there was an awful lot she should be doing. She understood perfectly though, this woman had got lost, it was no big deal. Heck she almost got lost on her first day, the Ministry was a very big place. So many floors to comprehend. "Yes, well do I look like a man for starters?" she asked with a light friendly chuckle. She had met Armen, down at the meeting earlier. There was no mistaking him for her.

"Oh its fine, we do make mistakes, I'm just surprised you got through the security I just put in place" she pondered. Maybe she was already inside when Erica put them there, that would be the only rational explanation. "We all get lost once in a while though, no matter our age or gender" yes that meant those males too.

"I think you are looking for level 6, but don't quote me on that, I'm not entirely sure" she reflected. "Your on level 4 currently" she informed her. So it wasn't TOO far really. "Drago here will show you anyway" she nodded towards the man and then turned back to the older woman. "Have a good day though, and welcome to the Ministry" she finished off, grinning and turning back to her work.

He nodded, double-checked all of his wards, and retracted his threads. He had never stretched them too far beyond his proximity, and he wasn't about to try now. "Very well, then." He gave the woman a charming smile and gestured for the door. "Come along. I can guide you, if you wish."

Warren was distracted by the wards being laid throughout their workplace. He had an eye for such things, while his rabbit had eyes for the department head. The long eared creature let out a little squeek before trying to nibble on her hand. "Careful now. He may be cute, but he is a vicious killer." He noticed just in time, giving the rabbit's ear a little tug to distract it.

"Warren Dunwich. Rabbit doesn't really have a name. I've called him plenty of names (not many of them pleasent), but he is yet to reply to any of them."

His heart sank when he saw the elderly woman. Time was a constant enemy, and Warren could feel himself getting older. Minute by minute the clock ticked away his youth. This was his secret fear, and the cause of all his troubles.

Nikolaos had a feeling that all of her wand flourishing had to do with this security check that they didn't have to worry about. He decided it best not to mention anything though. She seemed worried enough without him hounding her with dozens of questions. Gotta be hard to come into her position and have to deal with this.

Gevrik. Nikos filed the name away before nodding at his boss and picking up his quill with an inaudible sigh. He had to finish his paper work along with the security check. This was the last thing he wanted to be doing at the moment. Giving his wand a easy flick, a few of the files he had finished filed themselves. Holstering his wand, he exchanged it for his quill and began finishing up on the rest.

Ignoring the rest of chaos that was going on in the office.

Iris gave a laugh, "I've never heard the name before, I wouldn't sure if it was a man or a woman. People now and days with names are insane, you can never be sure." Iris explained. "Security?" Iris asked, she looked around once more wondering what type of 'security' she had the place. Obviously she hadn't done a complete job or Iris shouldn't have gotten in, but she decided to keep that fact to herself.

"Level 6 you say?" Iris clarified, she'd need to burn that piece of information into her head, though she'd probably forget by the time she got to level 6. "Thank you dear. We must have coffee together sometime to thank you for setting me straight." Iris told her, deciding as much as she didn't want to be overly nice, that she needed to thank her some how. And the woman was quite nice and respectful towards her. So Iris guessed the woman could join her for coffee some day.


Iris turned to Drago and eyed him carefully, not sure how she felt about him. "Drango?" She questioned. She held back from asking what type of name that was instead closing the space between them. She didn't like the thought of her being passed on from one employee to another, but at least he was willing to help her.

Iris placed a hand on his arm and gave it a slight squeeze. "Lead the way." She commanded lightly holding onto his arm. She gave level 4 one last look before being led out.

"It is Drago, dear miss," he said with a small bow, then started leading the way out.

Violet tilted her head to the side, confused by Warren's reaction. Apparently he hadn't changed quite as much as she'd hoped. What an odd man. She went over what has just happened in her mind, trying to work out where she had insulted him. And then she heard what he whispered to the rabbit. Oh.

"No, Mr. Dunwich, I was not being sarcastic," she assured him. "If the statement came out a little haughty, I do apologize. As I've said, I'm just having a bad day."

"I am.." There was a brief pause, as if he had forgotten how to say the word. A word he may not have said in years. "..sorry." It wasn't a word he liked to use, because it meant he had to admit he was wrong about something. If she wasn't his department head, she probably wouldn't have been witness to such humility.

"I must admit, it does feel good to be appreciated." Warren managed a small smile, while placing his rabbit atop his bald head. "Could that be what is bothering you? Being in charge can often be perceived as a thankless job." Speaking casually, as if it were perfectly normal to have a rabbit on your head, he picked up his hat, and wore it over top of the furry creature.

Violet's mouth twisted a little. What a different Warren this was! and an apologizing one, no less! Wow. She could guess from the way he said the words that they were not said often. "I accept your apology," she said gently.

Violet cracked a wry smile; her first smile of the day, in fact. "No, Mr. Dunwich. I have some...issues at home that have been getting to me. But don't worry about it; it's nothing I can't handle." She shook her head; she wasn't about to dump all of her problems onto the back of one employee. It would not help anything.

Maybe she should tell her boss that she is pregnant and it should be in her file that she is half veela.

James nodded in agreement. Working with magical creatures was the best job he could have ever wished for. “Wh-what did you do before you came to work here?” He asked. “I-if you don't mind me asking.” He blushed crimson which was all the more accentuated by the red jacket he was wearing and the mess of white blonde hair on top his head. That was a terribly forward question. Oh dear. But the lady's smile was so warm and gentle that James felt she wouldn't mind his boldness too much.

His eyes widened making him resemble a small child. “S-soup?” He stuttered. James was quite capable of making soup. Perhaps he would bring some in for the new boss one day this week. Fresh tomato soup. He could quite fancy some of that himself.

His division head? His green eyes scanned the office. He wasn't completely sure who that was since he had recently moved departments. His eyes landed on an older, familiar looking man who had been conversing with Erica only moments before she very courteously came over to introduce herself. Was that him?

"Hrm." With a slight tilt of his head, Warren removed his hat, holding it by the brim. "My advice for the living is free. It is only paranormal psychiatry I charge for." The tall hat seemed empty when he put it back on his desk.

"Whether you seek advice, or decide to go it alone, I suggest you handle it promptly. You are the captain of this ship. It is best not to show weakness."

She stroked her belly and decided that she would go and find the head, she wanted to find out who is head of her department so she can start some work.

Elinor was listening the entire time, though it may not've seemed like it, when Miss Radley told the workers about an impending inspection. Calmly finishing the last line on her bit of paperwork and sliding it into the "OUT" box, Elinor turned, sliding the slightly battered briefcase out from under her desk and setting it on her chair as she rose. She crossed the cubicle, opened the file cabinet, rifled through the papers and pulled out a single sheet.

Crossing back over to the briefcase, she flicked open the locks, slid in the paper, then locked it back. Pulling a sticky note off the pad, she scribbled down that she would return at Four O'Clock. It was three fifteen now. Plenty of time. Placing the sticky note on the outside wall of her cubicle, where anyone passing would see it, she jerked her coat off the hook, and with briefcase in hand, swiftly left the office.

Erica laughed a little, admittingly it was an unusual name, she certainly hadn't ever heard of it herself, but surely if he was her boss then she should have been informed of him. Then again she hadn't met anyone before she was appointed as a head. "I guess Erica is quite a...." she didn't know what to say about her name. "Normal I guess?" she continued. "Yeah just a few routine checks, nothing too rational" she smiled softly.

"Yes. Just two levels up from here, so its not too far" she sent a friendly smile again. "That sounds good, but you don't need to thank me, I'm just doing my job" she smiled. "Have a good day, I hope you settle into the Ministry well" she finished before watching the woman walk off.

There was simply something about James that Erica liked. Maybe it was just the sheer, cuteness Not that she was gonna admit that, being probably a whole decade older than he was of his stutter, or the fact he was making an effort in creating common conversation. "A lot of things actually. You have to have a lot of experience to become a Department Head.." she smiled. "And of course I don't mind....I started at an Abraxan stables, small work, just left Hogwarts so there wasn't a lot I COULD do. I moved to the American Ministry after a few years, firstly as a normal employee, in the equivalent department to this one, then got promoted up to a Division Head. But, I guess by my mid twenties I got bored of the old, sit down and work business and wantd to get out and do it myself. Which is why I went travelling, with a group that sepcialised in looking for new and endangered Magical Creatures around Europe. But then I came here...." she finished. "I'm sorry, that was a little too much information there right?" she asked. She shouldn't be taking up his time, he had work to do. SHE had work to do in fact. "What about yourself? Is this your first job?" she asked. She should really go sit in her office and read up on those files in the cabinet.

"Yes... Soup" she repeated. Did he make soup? Mid May, she could really do with one of them. Healthy and what not, besides she hadn't eaten the whole day.

Where was SHE going?

The Creatures head eyes followed as one of her employees got up and walked straight out her office. "Err...Care to tell me where exactlyit is your going?" she asked, the authority clear in her voice, although she wasn't certain whether the woman had heard before she had left the room. She didn't particularly appreciate people just simply LEAVING in the middle of the work day without telling her. Yes, she did have a gentle smile and always seemed warm, but she was a HEAD, there were somethings that meant her speaking up.

Katalin looked at the head of department asking someone why they are leaving, she was going to wait until she was finished and then asked her a question and give her some information.

Elinor spun on the spot, not at all put off by the Department Head's interjection, apologetic look in place.

"I do apologize, Miss Radley, I merely had paperwork to be delivered, you see." Without hesitation or concern, Elinor set the briefcase on the edge of a desk and popped it open, knowing that the contents could not be identified right away. She lifted two manilla folders out, each one with papers neatly tucked inside. "Some of these have to run through more than one department, I was just going to take them to where they needed to be."

She held the folders for a moment, in case she decided to have a look at them. "But I can wait, if you prefer." That probably sealed it right there. Nothing like an efficient worker.

Violet cast a look at Warren's hat. It did not pass by her that the rabbit was now, supposedly, gone. Would have been quite impressive if she hadn't...you know...been working in an office of magical creatures. "Well, thank you for your advice, Mr. Dunwich," she said. She hadn't really been looking for advice, but...whatever. "Don't you have work to do?" she inquired. "Having just returned and all."
