Due to medical issues such as epilepsy and fibromyalgia, I can't work so I am on what's known as a Disability Support Pension. Some have looked at me like I'm lazy or "faking things" which does annoy me. I have what's known as invisible illnesses. I'd like to be working and living independently but I simply can't.

As for my muggle job I currently work two jobs one as a nursing aid which I have been doing for 7 years it used to job my primary job but I opted for a change so now it's more part time. The job that takes the majority of my time is that of a pharmacy technician but who knows how long that might be for I might get bored but so far not yet and I've been doing that for almost 3 years now.

My muggle job is a Hair Stylist which I have been doing it for one year now. It is a very enjoyable job and you certainly meet a lot of interesting people, but it is hard on your feet as you are on them all day.

Currently I'm an Academic Writing Feedback Specialist, which is a fancy way of saying I read university essays and give feedback on grammar, structure, language choice, etc.

To explain more: i slice super thin slices of tissue (4 microns, which is REALLY small), place it on a slide and stain it for the pathologists to review and make diagnoses for different cancers (mostly)

We also have a big STEM outreach programme, so I get to work with young people to show them what STEM subjects can be like outside of school.

I finally got my elementary education teacher's license. The funny part is I was never hired for elementary teaching. I started off in 7th grade in a contained classroom so I taught all subjects including Ojibwe.

This year I started in 7th grade again, with a coteacher. My coteacher died a week after the kids came back this fall. This was just devastating as he was an awesome friend for over 30 years. We didn't even know we were working together at the same school til we found each other our first day back.

He was taking on high school science as well as 7th grade. When he died they started searching again for a science teacher with no luck. I was ill nearly a week in October and came back when my boss came to me and said she was switching me to High school science.

I have been horribly sick the last month so very little teaching happening due to laryngitis! But so far I am loving it, and actually considering going back to get my high school science degree

I have an AA degree in Music Performance/Ed and a BS in English Language Arts Ed. But I decided to stay as a substitute because it works better for my life right now. When I am not subbing I am taking care of my grandmother who has dementia. So I need a lot of flexibility in my work schedule which makes subbing absolutely perfect for me.

Plus not only is there a huge teacher shortage, but there is an even bigger substitute shortage. So I do my part by being there for the teachers that are burnt out and need days off.

I have this problem too, only my disabilities are generalized anxiety disorder and PTSD. Large crowds are usually my trigger (small crowds are fine), causing me to have major panic attacks. But I've found over the years that sometimes highly stressful situations and too much caffeine can cause them too. Luckily, my medication keeps them in check mostly.

I did this for awhile too (I know, someone with anxiety selling Avon!), but it didn't work out so well for me. Now, I'm going back to school (online) to get my BA in History with a minor in Information Science and eSociety (my uni requires a minor to go with the History major) and working on my own online store. It does get stressful at times (especially when lots of assignments come due around the same time!) but it is interesting.
