Nicoli smiled, patiently waiting for the shock and beauty of the badge to wear off slightly before he slid its leather case across the table. He gently probed his own out of its tightly fitting case and by a way of explanation, slipped it into another leather case, his fingers dancing over the sparkling surface slightly. "I just wish I could have given Nathan his now as well," Nicoli said somewhat wistfully.

"It was real when you stepped into this office," Nicoli said honestly. An amount of gratitude was owed to both of his employees, who despite it all, had some faith in him. "Thank you," he said quietly, "For being here."

Amelia smiled at Nicoli. It was great to have a boss so invested in his team. "A new start and it's going to be great," she said.

She then gently eased the badge into its leather holder and held it in her hands, not wanting to put it away just yet.

Nicoli smiled silently. He didn't know what to say, but he was sure he was expected to depart in the moments notice. Somehow, he knew it wasn't quite time to go yet, he just needed to sort something out...just what? OH YEAH! "We may need a change of clothes," he said grinning, thinking that a change to black robes would be slightly more appropriate.

She grinned back, and then looked down at her at her muggle attire. She'd stick out like a sore thumb in the Wizarding surroundings of Diagon Alley. "I think you're right," she laughed, knowing at the moment she looked as undercover as a clown at a funeral.

She handled her briefcase she liked to call her "Mary Poppins bag" as it was enchanted to hold a vast amount and be feather light. She pulled out her black wizarding robes, a slight pattern to them when they caught the light and her favourite black pointed heels. She may be undercover, but she was going to be stylish doing so.

"So, what's the plan?" she enquired, as she steamed the creases out of her robes with her wand. "When do we go?" She looked around for a place to change, knowing it wouldn't be a good move on her first day to flash her boss as she got change. She wanted to be one of the lads, but she knew there were some lines.

Nicoli smiled warmly at Amelia, she was really very prepared wasn't she? "Well, I think before we get going, we need to just energize a little. Well I do," he grinned. "So I'm gonna get a cup of coffee..." and let you change..."Then we can go over the plan, the aliases, whatever once I'm back." He definitely needed that coffee.

Amelia watched him leave the room, thinking it was a good thing to have a break before they got cracking. As he closed the door behind him, Amelia flicked her wand so the door locked and then the blinds came down so she could change in privacy.

She slipped on her robes, smoothing out the last of the creases with her wand, and twirled her long pony tail up into a loose bun at the bottom of her neck. Looking down at herself, she knew she would blend in perfectly in Diagon Alley. A flick of her wand again and the blinds flew up and the door swung open.

She then left the office in search of a refreshing drink.

Amelia entered the office, her black robes fluttering around. Her still felt uncomfortable in them, but knew that it was needed to blend in on their impending mission. She held her bottle of pumkin juice, needing the refreshing lift it gave her, as her sat back into her leather chair at her great oak desk.

She knew that it was importent to prove herself during this first task, to show Nicoli that he wasn't crazy employing her. He was her boss and she didn't want take charge and undermine him, but she needed to balance that with fresh ideas for them to go on. 'Yes,' she thought, 'the first mission was always going to be the hardest.'

She took a sip from her bottle, waiting for her boss to come in, hoping to get cracking soon.

Dmitry walked into the office, a sign to his left told him that he was indeed in the correct place, level 2 where the man, whos name he had forgot had told him to come. Dmitry glanced around for a sign of him ... Syd ! that was it, The office was pretty empty. Dmitry took a few more steps inside the office, expecting at any moment someone to ask him whom he was looking for, in which case he would be pretty stuck, there could be more than one Syd in the Magical Law Enforcement Squad.

Amelia sat up straight in her chair as she was joined by a man she hadn't met before. He looked a little lost as he glanced around the room.

"Hi," she chirped, "can I help you?"

Nicoli strode into the office once again, his midnight blue robes replaced with worn-looking black onces and with the aid of a handy spell: dark, ebony hair. It had taken him a little longer that he thought it would to change and get his hair, just right shade of black to be believable, but there he was, looking totally different-except his eyes, which still stood out on his pale features like blue ice on confetti.

To his surprise, it was not only Amelia that was in the room at the moment, but also and somewhat hapless looking friend. "Hi! I'm Nicoli Vanhatck," and realizing that he did not remember him from any of the applications sent in, "Anyone in particular you've been looking for?" Maybe this was someone from another of the divisions, or even departments?

Dmitry adressed the two women who were now trying to help him, he glanced between the two for a while " Im Dmitry Sychev, Magical Transportation" He waited to see if this would register, asif they knew automatically why he was here, after a while he realised they were still in the dark about his appearence " Im here looking for Syd .... his second name escapes me " He said with a slight smile " he told me to come down here, were to work together" Dmitry took a second sweeping look around the office " Another of my colleagues is supposed to be down here aswell .. " he said trailing off

Amelia looked from Dmitry to Nicoli and decided it best for Nicoli to answer as she knew nothing about any other department joining them. As for Syd... She had heard that their departmental head was called Syd, but she had yet to have the honour of meeting him.

'Yes,' she thought, 'I'll leave that to Nicoli.' She gave Dmitry a quick warm smile and just sat back in her chair.

A look of recognition dawned on Nicoli's face, "This is about Mr.Flooing then?" he frowned a little, this meant the assignment may have to be put off for the moment. This was not good. He was getting behind on what he was meant to be doing, and at this rate, no work would get done. "Syd is this department's head," he continued. "Are you sure you were supposed to come to the Magical Law Enforcement Squad Office? Maybe he wanted you to go to his office..." Nicoli needed to reschedule his plans, and unfortunately, put Amelia on to two jobs today.

Amelia sat there, looking from Nicoli to Dmitry, hoping to get to the bottom of what was happening. She was getting slightly impatient, but not letting it show, as she wanted to get cracking with some work. Whether that be one case or two.

She then settled her gaze on the newcomer, hoping he could clarify whether their assistance was needed.

Syd walked in, finally able to escape his office. He looked around for Nicoli and was glad that the man was in the room. The fellow from Level 6 was also here... though he seemed a bit lost.

"There ya'll are," he said, running a hand through his hair. "I guess you know about the Mr. Flooing... thing... now?"

Nicoli regarded the member of Magical Transportation carefully. He seemed a little lost, lacked a certain amount of confidence, and yet was good at talking to people-provided he knew what it was he was talking about. Which he didn't. Noticing a movement at the door, he lifted his gaze to see Syd standing just outside.

"Sir!" he said, not sure if he was permitted to call the man by his first name yet. "Uh, hello, sir. Not...quite. All I know of is what was posted on the assignment board...that we were required to find this Mr.Flooing?" he asked somewhat uncertainly. At the very least he knew what Dmitry was talking about.

"Well, I just need a couple people to take Mr. Sychev here to apprehend Mr. Flooing. Nothing too big. Just arrest the man and make sure he doesn't try to pull anything," he said, putting his hands in his pockets. "Bring him back here for questioning and we'll see to his trial."

He smiled and felt exhausted. What he would give for a nap...

"Simple enough, yes?"

Joe Jon Montcenaggio ( J. J. Starr) waits his trun to tell the magical police dept about the missing students from Hogwarts. He has a close freind of the family's there named Jason Potter Weasley and two of Jason's cousins are part of all the missing students.

"Quite," Nicoli replied, relieved that they seemed to know where this Flooing man was, and so they didn't need to do any more detective work. "At the moment, we're seriously short of employees, and one of mine is helping Forrester with a job. So Amelia here," he turned to glance at her, "and I, will have to go." Nicoli turned to Dmitry hoping his next question could be answered by the man. "Do you know where we might be able to find him?"


Once again, for at least the 5th time this day, Nicoli spied an outsider at the door. "Hello!" he said somewhat more brightly than he felt. "May I help you?" He tried not to cross his fingers, this had better not be another job. We've got 3 assignments piled up already.

"Well, there is a problem at HogWarts " Joe Jon Montcenaggio ( J. J. Starr) says. " A freind of my family , Jason Potter Weasley who is a Hogwarts student has told me of students who have been kidnapped and supposedly have turned into animals. " J. J. Starr continues talking. My cousins are two of them, Excelsior and Monica Black- I hear Excelsior is a fox and Monica is a black cat" J. J. Starr says. "Can you help me and HogWarts" J. J. Starr says.

Amelia just sat and watched the goings on around her, finding it quite comical that they hadn't even got their first investigation off the ground and now they were faced with two more.

'We should have left the office when we had the chance,' she thought to herself.

She waited for Nicoli to deal with these requests as he was the man in charge. But she did listen intently, trying to pick up any information that would help her if she was to get involved

My close neighbor Jason Potter Weasley send me his owl Priscella and the note said " J. J. the missing students are animals and are in the Forbidden Forest"Joe Jon Montcenaggio ( J. J. Starr) tells the person who is at the front desk.

Dmitry took a glance around the room, which seemd alot busier than their office back up on level 6. He wasnt really expecting something this big on his first day of work, he hadnt even been here for more than hour or so, Magical Transportation seemed to be low on numbers. He looked back at Nicoli , He seemed more likley to be the department head than Syd did , he had more of a managerial look about him. " That i can answer " he said in response to his question, he waved his wand and a small pile of papers landed infront of Nicoli " To bo honest i havnt had a look at them, i havnt been here that long, but thats all the information we have on Flooing, including his where abouts " Dmitry said with a little more confidence in his voice now, at last feeling like he was able to help in someway. He glanced across to Amelia who seemed fed up with proceedings.

"Right, Nicoli, send a couple off with Mr. Sychev here and get this sorted out. Two officers should handle it, right, Mr. Sychev? If you need more, we can arrange that," he said, turning to the new fellow who had a Games and Sports badge on.

"And as for the missing students, we can get whoever isn't working on a case to head to the school. We're a bit swamped as it is," he said, looking mostly to the woman near Nicoli who already seemed exhausted.

Nicoli glanced at the pile of papers that had appeared from Dmitry's wand. They looked suspiciously heavy. Just brilliant, that is. "Thank you, they should have everything we need." Nicoli half heartedly placed his finger tips upon the pile of evidence.

"Actually, sir," Nicoli said to Syd quietly, "We haven't got anyone else-including in the Hit Wizards department, and myself. I will have to go with Amelia as it is to capture Flooing." Nicoli was almost ready to die. If only Forrester hadn't taken Aaron and Nathan...maybe then, but there's no use in dwelling on the past. He just had to make this work.

It was only now that Nicoli noticed Amelia's lost look. "Amelia," he said urgently, whipping out his wand and floating the pile of papers over to her. "Please, look over these for me. Anything important: location, appearance, personality traits..." He smiled, it was a somewhat strained expression, but one that was sincere.

"In the forbidden Forest?" he almost whistled. "Tell me, do these students recognize their friends or family? Or are they working on animal instincts?" Hmm. Sounded like the Hit Wizards would be on this one. "This would involve the Department of Education, The Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes and the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures...yes?" he asked Syd, hoping to be able to get the job out of his hair just to be able to do this. He needed a Time-Turner. Or a twin.

Syd looked around the empty department and realized Nicoli was right. He clenched his left fist and rubbed his temple with his right fingers. Couldn't this J. J. whoever have made an appointment?

"We will need at least Education and Accidents on this one. I say we send them to the school first so we can re-group here. Accidents should be able to catch the students and Education can figure out what happened," he said to Nicoli, trying not to explode with frustration. "You take Ms. Grey on the Flooing case with Sychev."

He turned to J. J. whatever next, "You're going to have to go to Education and Accidents. Our Aurors are out, our Hit Wizards are mostly tied up, and as you can see, our MLES are down to the bones. Once ya' get Accidents out there, we can probably go out to book whoever did all this."

He pulled Nicoli aside and spoke softly. In his tired state, his drawl was becoming more apparent.

"I'm so sorry you've got all this to deal with, but once we book Flooing and finish the other cases, I think we'll be stable. I also am going to need you and Ms. Grey to attend the Minister's wedding as security along with Ms. Smirnov. I'm bringing 3 Aurors at the Minister's request too. Think you can handle it or are you going to have to check into Saint Mungos?" he chuckled at the end, hoping to calm Nicoli.

Sure he seemed heartless, but he liked who he liked and Nicoli was a good man.
