Separated from the main offices on level one, by a large windowed wall, the conference room is brightly lit. The room is sparsely furnished, containing what could be considered a simple table and chairs. However, the long table is of a richly stained wood, with ornately carved legs. If you stare at the legs long enough, you see scenes from the most famous goblin wars of the 19th century. The chairs are plushy and covered in dark green leather, while the wheels seem to float inches off the floor and make no sound at all. The biggest of the chairs sits at the head of the table. In fact, it's significantly bigger, almost reaching throne-like proportions.

There is one broad window across the far wall of the conference room. The scene would be better suited for a ski lodge, as it overlooks a vista of impossibly craggy mountains hovering over a quaint alpine village. A herd of dairy cows mosey across the hillside just down the hill, each with a huge bell around its neck. The room is complete with a ornately carved fireplace, currently empty, as well as a coffee bar and snack station just inside the door.

Still pulling together the information Reagan had transmitted to her just minutes ago, Angelina followed her boss to the conference room. She was feeling grateful not to be seated on her desk’s chair reading papers, being seated all day had actually started giving her pain in her back. Besides, it was good to know that the department was about to start getting full of activity.
Busy, she liked that word.

Angelina stepped into the conference room right after Reagan, her eyebrows raised a little when she noticed how empty the room was.
Where was Brian? And Tonya and Cambell? As a matter of fact, where were all the liaisons?
Their boss had called a meeting and they were all late, very late to be more precise. “They” weren’t just one or two liaisons, “they” were all the liaisons.
How disrespectful was that?
Inwardly, Angelina left the conference room towards the liaisons area to know what in Merlin’s pants were they doing that was more important than attending to Reagan’s meeting.

The brunette woman took a seat next to Reagan, her green eyes turned to her boss and observed her eyeing her watch and then sighing before turning to the three people that were sat around the table.
After Reagan finished introducing herself, Angelina turned to the new liaisons, she still didn’t know their names.. ah well, she was going to find out soon.
“Good day and welcome to the minister of magic’s office.” Angelina welcomed with her professional polite smile on her lips.“My name is Angelina Gilmore and I am the junior assistant to the minister. I am the one you must come to if you have questions. Questions about how to do something, where you can find someone.. any questions, you shall come to me before coming to Ms Taylor.”

As Reagan was distributing the assignments, Angelina wrote down on her small notebook the name of the new liaisons, so that she wouldn’t forget them (which was something that was highly probable to happen, at least during their first week), in which department they would work to and what their assignments were.
Then she heard a woman, that was a chair away from her, making a question.
“ The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures is on level four Ms. Reynolds." Angelina answered, without ceasing to write or turning her eyes away from her notebook. She then settled her with quill down and turned to the woman with a polite smile. " Mr. Andrus office is at the end of the level four corridor, you will not have problems finding it.”
After all, the emerald green door did stand out from all the others in the corridor.

Grateful that Angelina stepped in and introduced herself, Reagan nodded to reinforce what she was saying about how the liaisons should direct all questions first to Angelina and then if the matter needed Reagan's input, it could be brought before her at that time.

While Angelina answered Abigail's question about the location of her department, Reagan perused her list of names to find Amber's assignment. Once Angelina had finished speaking, Reagan explained, "Ms. Amber Thatcher, you've been assigned as liaison to the Department of Magical Transportation. Lorraine Brothmeister heads that department and she's a very capable woman. I suggest introducing yourself and getting a status report on her department. Perhaps have her introduce you to her division heads, as well. And if you'd like an idea of what it is like to work with Lorraine, I suggest talking to Angelina here. She was the liaison to that department before being promoted to the Minister's Junior Assistant and I'm sure she wouldn't mind sharing her wealth of knowledge in that area."

Chad slipped as quietly as he could in the conference room. Oh sweet merlin, he was soo late...Reagan was probably going to make him her personal statue for a week! Pink robes, here I come!, he thought, trying to at least be a litttle optimistic about it.

"Sorry..." he mumbled in his french accent, a little ashamed for being late to an important meeting. He'd been so hit and miss lately...it was becoming a little concerning to him. Perhaps he'd voice his concerns later...like after he'd apologized profusely and offered to be her statue.

Edith paused in front of the door, then slipped into the Conference Room. Dammit She was really late! By the looks of things anyway. She sat down quietly.
"So sorry," she said, giving Reagan an apologetic look. Her daughter had been especially difficult today. She'd not been able to get her to stay put! But, she supposed, that wasn't really an excuse was it. She bit her lip nervously. She guessed she'd missed a lot.

Cambell walked in the confrence room a bit timidly. She wasnt sure if she was late or not, but by the looks of it, she was okay. Not even half the Liaisons were there. She sat down giving a wave and an apolegetic look to Reagan. She pulled out her notebook and supplies and layed them out at Miss Taylor talked about the responsibilities of new liaisons, whom she hadnt met yet. She would have to introduce herself later!

It only took Ms. Reagan to turn her attention to Abi for Amber to turn her own head to throw a pretty long glare at Ethan surreptitiously through her lashes for her head was bent down towards her notebook, though she tried her best to make sure he knew she was doing so. He certainly knew her feelings about his presence there already, she had never quite feigned her dislike for the man and she wouldn't start doing so then, but still, the more and the better he was acquainted with them the better.

For how long her eyes were caught on his face, she didn't know, but she did know that it had not been enough for her to vent out her emotion. However, she found herself forced to look away as her name was called.

Immediately erasing the previous look from her face, she smiled politely at the woman and nodded in agreement as her hand rapidly scribbled down the keywords from Reagan's little speech. Once Reagan pointed out to another female, someone she hadn't seen entering, Amber followed the woman's gaze to nod at Angelina. "Pleasure," She smiled, not bothering to add another word. Whenever this meeting was over, she'd make sure to speak properly to the woman. Well, after finding out what Belden was doing there, of course.

And suddenly, the door started opening and closing quite too much. Raising her eyebrows, Thatcher turned her eyes to the door and watched as more and more people joined them. Ah, they were probably her new colleagues. Well, one thing was for sure, they sure knew how to arrive late, which was quite un-English-like, was it not? Nevertheless, she kept a polite expression and shot some tiny smiles at them, while her mind travelled to other places.

Hmm... So she was going to work in the Department of Magical Transportation, that meant that if she managed to get a friend or two there she might just get a free broomstick and - aaah... Good, good.

Obviously, Amber Thatcher was already plotting a way to get rid of Belden.

Reagan eyed the near-tardy liaisons as they each entered the conference room. So nice of you to join us. The stress weighing on Reagan gave her thoughts a more sarcastic twist than usual. When most of the liaisons were in attendance, Reagan formally began, "Hello everyone. I've called this meeting to discuss three matters. Firstly, we have 3 new staff members joining our department and quite a few who will be going on leave for an indefinite amount of time. I'd like you all to welcome Ms. Abigail Reynolds, Ms. Amber Thatcher, and Mr. Ethan Belden. I was just giving them their new department assignments and explaining what their jobs will entail. But before I finish, I should address the second important matter."

Reagan picked up her sheet with the new assignments on it. She took one final glance to verify that she needed no further changes, then began, "I have decided that some changes need to be made in our office. I am going to be switching your assignments to different departments. I feel this is necessary to get a fresh perspective from each of you. The efficiency of this office has been on the decline recently and I'd like to reverse that trend. I'm hoping this will help. So, I am going to read the assignments for each department. If you have any problems, questions, or concerns pertaining to your new assignment, please see me immediately. I will first say the department name and then the one or two names of the liaisons for that department.

"Magical Education - Blackfire Star, Magical Law Enforcement - Tonya Springs, Magical Accidents and Catastrophes - Cambell Robinson, Magical Creatures - Abigail Reynolds and Edith Griffiths, International Magical Cooperation - Cornelius Copernicus, Magical Transportation - Amber Thatcher, Magical Games and Sports - Ethan Belden and hopefully a new liaison who I am in the process of hiring, Mysteries - Chad Stryker and Amatril Myrthundlin."

Edith was pretty sure she was in trouble with the look Reagan gave all the latecomers. At least she wasn't the latest! She nodded as Reagan began her speel, and took in the information. At her new assignment, she raised a slight eyebrow. Magical Creatures? she sighed internally. Not like she could go against the boss. And surely it wouldn't be that bad. She wouldn't actually have to deal with the creatures. Right? She nodded again. She didn't have any questions. Really. Gosh. Her daughter would love this. Mummy working with all the pretty aminals!

Magical Accidents and Catastrophes? Cambell had never even visited that part of the Ministry. She had no clue who worked there, or any idea how they did their work. She couldnt help but feel a bit upset with the changes, but she would do her job. And who was Blackfire Star? She was taking over Cambell's job, and she had never met her.
As time went on, Cambell started to wonder what the third reason was for this meeting being called. As she waited for things to move along she slowly wrote 'Magical Accidents and Catastrophes' on her blank peice of parchment. It felt like the first day of work all over again.

There didn't seem to be any questions, so Reagan pressed on to explain, "Since many of you have not met the employees on the Level to which you've just been assigned, I'd like for each of you to visit the Head of your new department and introduce yourself. I expect a written report about what each office in that department is doing dropped in the completed assignment box in one week's time. Get all the info, even if they seem resistant to give it to you. A lot of these department heads won't tell you if they're having troubles, so you may need to speak with the division heads and even the employees. Just find a way to submit a complete and honest report."

Two matters down, one to go. And this one made her the most nervous to discuss. Oh boy. Calm down. Breathe. Deep breaths. Reagan cleared her throat, "I suppose we can begin to discuss the third matter. As some of you may recall, this year is an election year at the Ministry. Minister Cooper will be running for re-election, and I am going to request that some of you, who morally agree that he should remain Minister, work on his campaign.

"For those of you who prefer not to commit to Minister Cooper or the opposing candidate, there is an independent project that serves to simply promote the election itself, and neither candidate. Its purpose is to encourage people to vote and to organize the debates, which includes helping find locations for those debates, deciding on the questions to be asked, decorations, etcetera. I really hope a few of you might be interested in assisting on this project."

"And then, there is a third group in support of the candidate opposing Minister Cooper. This candidate takes a very active role in the Ministry and would like to make a lot of improvements, both on a domestic and international level. And that candidate..." She stood from her chair, "... is me."

And one by one, the rest of the people that worked in the department started to arrive, either looking apologetic, or mumbling apologies and excuses in their way in. But that did not seem to settle Taylor--the woman was clearly displeased by this. Making a mental note to never be late to a meeting with her -and ignoring Amber's childish behaviour of glaring at him- Ethan proceed to focus on the little speech Ms. Taylor was delivering.

Upon listening Reagan Taylor introducing him, alongside that Thatcher, and the other woman that seemed to be named Abigail Reynolds, Belden simply nodded politely to the rest of them, a very small smile curling upon his lips--just a little twitch of his mouth. And then the important matters started; he would be the liason the the Department of Magical Games and Sports, alongside some other person they had not hired yet. At first, he did have some questions -the most important being 'and what my job is exactly?'- but after Reagan went on, telling them their first assignment, Belden believed he had gotten the gist of it.

So basically, he would be the one in charge to inform Reagan if something -something bad, at that- was going on at Magical Games and Sports. In other words, he would be a rat. Well, that was his job, and it did not seem particularly complex, so Belden was not about to complain. Besides, it wasn't like he knew people from there, so it didn't really bother him.

And if that's what it takes to get paid. . . so be it.

Returning to reality when Reagan's subject change, Belden brushed his hair out of his eyes as he listened. Election year. Right. He already knew that, but he what he did not know was that he would get to be so involved with that. In truth, Belden did not feel particularly comfortable picking a side; in one side was Reagan, his boss that he did not want to upset for obvious reasons. In the other was Minister Cooper, and he, well. . . he was the Minister of Magic

The most common answer would be the 'Independent Campaign' but the truth was that the mentioned side sounded. . . dull. Perhaps it wasn't, but that's how it sounded to him.

"Excuse me, Ms. Taylor," began Ethan from his seat, speaking quietly but loud enough for her and everyone else to hear, "Do we have to select a side right now, or can we let you know later?"

Cambell wrote a bit more down at Reagan continued telling them their tasks. She would have to write a report. Yes, definately just like her first day at work.
Cambell looked around the room as Mrs. Taylor began talking again, a bit nervously this time. She eyed her boss, wondering what was going on. As she mentioned the upcoming election Cambell almost grumbled. Though, she loved the Ministry, she did not... exactly love the Minister. As she talked about which parties to represent her mind went automatically to the independent party, as she had no idea who was running against him, and truthfully had no idea anyone was even going to try to run against Minister Cooper.
Cambell was surprised when Reagan seemed even more uncomfortable as she mentioned the third choice they had. She gasped out loud as she told she was the opposing party! Suddenly a huge smile appeared on Cambell's face.
"Me, I will help you!" Cambell said as calmly as she could, with her little hand raised. "I had no idea you would run, though... I would understand, and how great!" Cambell stopped, she had been talking too much. She blushed.

Edith jotted notes down on her sheet of parchment as Reagan spoke. Have to meet head of department As Reagan continued, talking about the Minister, she looked up from her sheet, really listening in. She ddn't really agree with Minister Cooper, that much.
When Reagan named herself as the opposing candidate, Edith's eyes widened and she smiled.
"I'll help too," she said, nodding, after Cambell pledged her allegiance to Reagan.

Tonya jotted down her new deprtment and looked up upon hearing that Reagan is running fo MoM, "I'd like to help with your campaign, Ms. Taylor." she said looking around the room.

Aha! Belden was working in some different department. Gooood! Everything was going to work out after all. For some reason, Amber felt like cackling. Perhaps him coming to work in the same place as her was not exactly as bad as she had previously believed it to be. After all, she miiight just get her revenge. It'd be a bit late and all of that, but then again, better late than never, right? Ah, the temptation of smirking...

Allowing such thoughts to fade from her mind for the time being, she focused on paying attention to her new boss instead who seemed to be informing the others of... an election? She frowned just slightly and heard everything else the woman had to say. Once she was done, Thatcher saw herself before an impossible choice. On the one hand, she could not pick either candidate to work with (what if the one she had not supported won? Her chances of getting a higher position would definitely be fewer and could not even convey such an idea). On the other hand, being part of the independent party sounded so... boring. Where was the emotion in doing nothing but organizing things instead of thinking of the finest ways to win?

Nibbling absent-mindedly on the end of her quill as she analyzed both hypothesis, she was soon raising her brows at Ethan's question. Eh, she had to give him that, his question was somewhat smart. It would be handy to have more time to think, after all. Heck, for all that she knew he might just be viewing things in a similar prespective to hers.

And then quite a lot of people were signing up to Reagan's side. Hmm... Fishy.

Finally settling down her quill, Amber turned her eyes to her boss, waiting for her reply to Ethan's question. Hopefully, it wouldn't take long for it to come. She had some investigations and musings to do.

With a smile, Reagan explained, "Well, if you'd like to work on the debates and possibly be the commentator, you'd have to join the independent project because they will be organizing the whole debate. My campaign won't be involved in that aspect of it, beyond preparing me for the questions. If you have interest in the debates, I strongly urge you to sign-up for the independent project and offer your skills there."

After receiving the memo to report immediately to the level one conference room, Bella Greingoth had politely excused herself from visiting with employees in her office and headed immediately down. If any of her fellow Department Heads were already inside, she couldn't see them, as it appeared that she just might be the first to arrive. Blink. Imagine that...Bella Greingoth, the first to arrive! The world was still full of surprises after all.

Bella took a seat at the long table and rumaged through her briefcase while she waited for someone else to arrive. She had a few pieces of paperwork to read through, so she'd use the downtime to get that done. Paperwork finally in hand, she settled back in the floating chair and began to read. Floo Network...Portkeys...Newell wedding... Newell wedding? How did that get into her briefcase? With a little shake of her head, she stuffed that paper back into her briefcase then continued reading.

Samantha entered the conference room. She saw someone was there already, and immediately recognized the person as Bella Greingoth, Head of Magical Transportation. "Hello, Bella, nice to see you. Congratulations on being made the new Department head," she said with a smile. "I know you will do an excellent job."

Ben Cobblesten walked into the level one conference room. Even though he was whistling happily to himself, he was a little worried about his employees being all alone after everything that had just happened. Enchanted legos--things just got better and better on level 3 each day, didn't they?

Ducking to prevent hitting his head as he entered the room, he waltzed in and found a seat next to Bella. "Good day Bella! And Samantha!" he added as he noticed that his fellow ex-campaign worker was there as well.

Lili made her way into the conference room on Level 1 after recieving a memo from Reagan to head down there. She had been away for awhile right after she got married, but was back, and really looking forward to starting work again.

As she entered the room, she noticed that she wasn't the only person in the room. Sam, Ben and Bella were all here already. Making her way over o them she sat down on the other side of Ben and turned to the three of the Department Heads already here and said, "hi everyone, how are you all doing?"

There he was. In level one conference Room. Leaving his wife back in his office, he appeared to the emergency meeting in time. Cool. Brian's hands inside his trouser pockets as a habbit. Well..a good habbit.

He stood there in the entrance and looked around. Well..thankfully he was not the first one. Samantha, Ben, Bella and someone new he had not met yet also in the room already. He waved at everyone. "Hi Everyone! Good day?" he asked interestedly as took a seat next to Samantha.

His first ever meeting as Department Head, and he wasn't on time. It just figured - after all, NOTHING ever went smoothly for him, did it? Ugh. Jake made his way into the conference room, trying to replace his foul mood with one of peace. He HAD recieved the memo and immediately rushed here, therefore forgetting to drink the rest of his coffee.

And Jake without coffee when he wasn't in a particularly good mood wasn't very pretty. "Hello Samantha," he nodded towards his ex-boss, then smiled as cheerfully as he could at all the other heads. Taking a seat, he spent the next minute trying to figure out who headed was Department as means of distraction and luckily it was working since his frustration over the world was replaced with a sense of stupidity as he realised his didn't really know anyone here.

He grinned. Now HERE was something amusing!
