|  Level Nine Stairwell and Corridor Hiss!Roar!Growl!Caw! | Hermione's Double | The Little Three | Alecate
Level Nine Corridor Coming from the elevators you are greeted by long, tiled corridors with identical, arched walls on either side. The closest corridor leads off into a stairwell that descends into Level 10 and the Courtrooms below. Most of the other corridors are interconnecting passages which leads into themselves. If one doesn’t work on this level they would most often find themselves confused and ending up back to where they started—which is usually by the elevators or the nearby the ominous black door that takes your to the Entrance Chamber of the Department of Mysteries.
Since this level houses a highly confidential department of the Ministry the entire area has been charmed to safeguard its security. Point-Me, Alohamora, magical lock-picking penknives and most other spells and devices will not work here. Anti-apparition spells are also set in place preventing anybody apparating in or out freely. Only during emergency cases does the Department Head (or select staff of the Ministry) lift the protection spells around this level.

BAH! Alex heard the shouts and what sounding like a DOG snarling. Who had a PET in the MoM? ODD PEOPLE, THEY WERE. He was running like the wind as he came into the Level Nine Corridor and skidded to a halt... up or down? Hmmm. He needed to get out of there somehow.
With his wand held at the ready he slowed a bit, thinking surely no one would catch him here. Not this soon.

Ha. He'd slowed down. Too bad Lights was a DOG and could run FASTER than him! She bounded after him, barking madly to lead Ebony and Ben here too.
She didn't think, exactly, just leapt at Wrekin with her jaws open. Unfortunately, she just missed his arm and stumbled slightly on landing. Ouch, that was going to leave a mark ... Lights leapt up again, and managed to get a grip on the man's sleeve. She hung on grimly, leaning back on her haunches to slow him even more and growling in the back of her throat. For a cute-looking labrador, Lights could growl pretty menacingly.

Again not really looking his back since he very well knew Gavin was following, Ryan made his way out the MLE office on level 10 and quickly made his way to the corridor and finally slowing his pace down as he approached the stairwell as planned before. Of course it seemed very easy and reasonable to the man when it idea was picked up.
''Looks like nothing has changed since the day i started to work on Level Nine, Gawain.'' the blond man said with a slight smirk on his face. ''These corridors still lack some necessary source of light.''
They definitely did.
And...he immediately stopped when he saw someone who definitely did not need any source of light while wandering around.
Well, well, well.
Was the man using an unforgivable?
Not really bothering to unholster his wand, Ryan just took a few more steps and stared at the man. ''That's seriously how you prefer it, dude?''

Lights howled as the curse hit her. Twice in one month! Not a great record. She accidentally transformed back into human form, falling to her knees for a second. Ethan was going to be so mad with her ... She stood and raced after Wrekin.
"COME BACK HERE YOU HAIRY GIT!" she yelled, not actually believing he would obey, but feeling so annoyed that she shouted it anyway. Maybe his pride would make him come back with a retort, which might slow him down. She was playing on that hope.

Gavin followed Ryan closely, relying on the older man's knowledge of the area since it was simply a maze to him. As they moved further and further into the area, the charms worker heart was beating a little faster as his adrenaline started pumping. He was beginning to get feeling that they had to be careful for anything that might happen soon and so his hand slipped into his robe pocket where his wand lay gripping it securly.
No sense in being caught unaware.
When they reached the stairwell it appeared they were going to head back up....to Level 9? Thats what it seemed as when Ryan finally spoke again breaking the silence it was confirmed they were now back on Level 9. He simply nodded about to answer his partner when he too spotted the other man who clearly seemed to be up to no good with a dog...human...animangus around as well. It was then he quickly slipped his wand out, mirroring Ryan's actions with his wand raised blocking the way they had come.
Their actions however were only to be rewarded by the original man apparating away.
"Crud...so close but no way of knowing where he went."

Lights tried to grab Wrekin's sleeve as he apparated, but no luck. "Damn you!" she growled, mentally kicking herself. Fine MLE'er you are, Lights ... She turned to the other two. "We've got to find him," she said determinedly. How they were going to do that, she wasn't sure. But they had to.
Without waiting for a reply, Lights changed back into the labrador and bounded up the stairs. She knew what Wrekin smelled like now ... she could probably get a scent, if she went to the right level ...

Ebony ran up the staircase with with wand out. But they were already gone. Where?
He quickly thought over it. Wrekin had escaped. How far could he go inside the Ministry? Everyone was in revolt!
That might just be WHY he might escape. Who would notice one man running, when he wasn't even a leader of the cult, and only MLE's knew him? So why hide? But for that matter, why not just leave the country? This confused Ebony. Were the Cultists trying to escape, or did they really not realize that this was over? Where would he go?
Then Ebony heard Light's shouting, and the chase resumed.

Aspen was entirely delighted to be lost. It was like her first week at Hogwarts, except she was lost somewhere deep in the bowels of the Ministry. The Courtrooms were much harder to find than she anticipated, which made her all the more happy.
After yet another turn had brought her brought her right back to a spot she'd KNOWN she'd been before, Aspen decided to take a break. Luckily, she'd brought her lunch. So, in the dimly lit stairwell, alone, Aspen sat on the step and had a picnic. | |

Ran straight up the stairs and continued to run until he felt his was in the clear. Phew. The inventor smashed his glasses into the bridge of his nose and turned around to continue up more stairs when he saw a person. A female person.
Bug eyes.

Aspen had heard the commotion before the source materialized from below. It - he - had been running. FROM something? Someone??? One could only hope. She didn't stand, but Aspen leaned to her right to look around him. She couldn't hear anyone/thing in pursuit.

"Are you running towards something? Or away from something?" Aspen peeled a banana and munched off a bite, entirely at ease on her step-seat. | |

But without questioning her, because she was a scary lady, he turned his pockets out with haste. A couple empty gum wrappers fell to the floor as well as some spare pieces of parchment with his designs on them. That was IT though, nothing illegal there. Eek, no more interrogation, please?
Also... could he have those designs back? He, um, well, you see, needed them.

Merlin, that was easy. Aspen hadn't even gotten her wand out OR threatened him. She wordlessly summoned the contents to herself, where she still comfortably seated. Since he'd so readily given these over, she felt no qualms with investigating the trash from his pocket. What could she GLEAN about this antsy fellow from his pockets? Game on.
Ah... not trash after all. Designs? Doodles? Aspen turned the parchment around to try and grab a bit of better light.
She didn't at all offer them back, or an explanation, but continued to shuffle and study the parchments. "Did you have lunch today?" Seemingly random, but Aspen offhandedly offered him a triangle half of sandwich without looking at him.

One by one, as she finished looking through what appeared to be protocols for wand holsters, Aspen put the man's parchments into her own pocket deep in her robes. Really, he was welcome to try.
"But-" he began and then promptly shut his mouth. Those were his designs. His beautiful designs that he had slaved over every night with some World of Warcraft and CodeRed Mountain Dew at his side. So basically, they were perfect. Well, ahem, almost perfect. And now they were under her possession because, uh, he wasn't getting those back. She was too scary to tempt.
Ferris dropped his eyes again to his shoes and started to squeak them on the floor. Squeak, squeak.
His Mum had always told him that the way to treat a lady so she'd act nicer to you and not beat you up on the playground was nicely and gentlemanly and he supposed MUM had to be right. Personally, he never much interacted with female humans or humans much at all, but his Mum was ALWAYS right on the money, so he lifted his eyes a little and tried her technique, "P-please?"

....? But? But.... he didn't finish, and Aspen didn't ask. So that died as quick as it was born.
The last of the sandwich went into her mouth just as she finished stuffing away the last of his parchment. That only left the gum wrappers, which were less interesting, but worth noting.
"Do you chew gum because your breath is bad? Or just out of habit?" she asked, playing deaf to his request. Or, simply denying it, however he wanted to look at it. | |

He wanted his notes back, please. Ferris NEEDED those for work and such and the last thing he, um, needed was to have them taken away. Not that he would take them back forcefully. This girl frightened him. Human beings in general frightened him.
The more he waited, though, the more she stuffed his parchments into her pocket. He cringed with each stuff because it meant, you know, they would be wrinkled. Oh bother. Oh no, no, no.
Squeak! She was talking at him again. Why was she TALKING to him, didn't she know that conversation was an odd social conformity that made him break out into HIVES?! No, he supposed not because that would mean that he would have to tell her that.
OH! She wanted him to answer that, gulp. Like a question and answer type thing. Ferris continued to squeak his shoes and whispered, "H-h-habit." It helped keep his mouth busy when he gamed. For hours. And hours.
Now could he PLEASE have them back? Please?
