Hello Emily. You've done some really good writing here. I like her telling Alicia to come over and talk if she had something to say, instead of barging in through her mind. Nothing against Alicia, mind you. Loved her response here. ^ Yeah, I'd be worried if they didn't notice. And I was reminded of the part in the HBP at the end when Dumbledore went to see Harry and Harry was packing. He started picking glass (?) from his sweater that didn't look like was really there. Then he just put it in the trunk and talked to Dumbledore much the same way Emily is talking to Alicia. Great writing. This'll be intresting to say the least.

Ready?

Alicia and Emily saw Harry disappear into the crowd as shouts sounded from the east wing. They swapped looks before following the rush of people. As they rounded a corner, Alicia slipped in something and landed in what looked like a swamp.

"WEASLEY!" Emily turned round to see the twins sprinting in the other direction, Umbridge on their tails.

"Can you help me up before following them?" Alicia said, wiping the green liquid off her face. Emily had to pick Alicia up off the floor several times as they left the swamped out corridor. The crowd was heading towards the Great Hall. Alicia was coated head to toe.

"So... So, you think it amusing to turn a school corridor into a swamp, do you?" Umbridge said from her step. Harry was just behind her, on a higher step.

"Pretty amusing, yeah" Fred said casually, causing Alicia and Emily to cheer. Blaise's eyes fell on them, glaring darkly.

"What are you covered in?" They turned to find Jamie, Draco, Hermione and Ron standing behind them.

"The swamp... I fell over a lot" Alicia said while Emily laughed. They tuned out of the scene in front of them.

"That makes sense... Is it really the whole corridor?" Jamie said, raising his eyebrows at Alicia's green uniform. It looked odd compared to her bright red hair.

"Yeah... With Alicia shaped holes every few feet" Emily said, laughing again.

"Accio brooms!" The twins shouted, cutting off their conversation. The two brooms zoomed into the Entrance Hall.

"What are they doing?" Emily said as they mounted them.

"Leaving..." Alicia said, her hair turning blue. "I'm going to miss them"

"Same here" Jamie said as Umbridge's Inquistorial Squad moved in.

"Give her hell from us, Peeves" The Poltergiest saluted the twins as they flew through the open doors to a roar from the crowd. Alicia, Emily, Jamie, Ron and Draco were cheering the loudest while Hermione seemed on the verge of tears.

"Life at Hogwarts is about to get so much worse..." Alicia said as the circle began to disperse.

"Why?" Emily asked hoarsely.

"People want to be the next Fred and George... So we can't go anywhere without walking into a prank... And then there's Peeves... Oh, and Blaise- he wants to question us lot on what else Fred and George have done..." She said, her hair now glittering green. "I think I might join in with the mayhem" She mused, making Jamie roll his eyes.

Hello Abi. Ah, this was a fun post to read. And it never did after that happened. Who didn't see that coming!? And I don't think Emily will let her have all the fun either. I think she'll get in on some things too.I'll be watching for the next post.

Fred and George Weasley were legends, to put it simply. Every corridor you turned down, their epic departure was being retold. Some would even say that they would even go as far as to pull a Weasley with how things were going. Emily and Alicia were enjoying the pranks that everyone decided to pull. Filch and the Inquisitorial had no idea what to do with themselves, not knowing which student to go after. Emily didn’t participate in the pranks themselves, but she did try to get out of every class she had with Umbridge.

“Professor?” Emily asked hoarsely, her cheeks flushed and her forehead sweaty. They had just started class and were supposed to be reading their books, but Emily wasn’t in the mood to sit around.

Umbridge immediately turned to her, narrowing her eyes into slits. “Yes, Miss Black?” Umbridge answered sweetly.

“I don’t feel too well… I think I need to see Madame Pomfrey,” Emily coughed.

“And what exactly is wrong with you?” Umbridge asked as her eyes narrowed even more.

“Well, that’s the thing, I looked it up this morning, trying to figure out what it was, and I came across this illness.” Emily smirked slightly as she continued. “Umbridge-itis, I think it was called,” Emily said with a grin.

“Detention again, Miss Black! Tonight!” she shrieked. Emily laughed lightly as the class around her chuckled.

Your father would be so proud, Alicia said in Emily’s head. Emily smirked before frowning momentarily.

You haven’t happened to glimpse anything new, have you? Emily asked. She heard Alicia’s silent “no” and sighed. Figured as much.

You know she’s not going easy on you tonight, Alicia whispered in her head.

I know, Emily grinned.

Emily met Draco at the Great Hall doors and he surveyed her tiny grin. “What happened?” he asked immediately with a roll of his eyes.

“Whatever do you mean, love?” she asked innocently. She kissed his cheek and then started for the door but he grabbed her hand and pulled her back.

“What did you do?” he asked seriously.

She caressed his cheek with the back of her hand as she took in his worry. He sighed as he let his eyes slip shut. “I have detention tonight, but it’s no big deal. Everything’s fine,” Emily whispered.

“You have got to stop this, Ems. One day she’s going to snap and you’re not going to be here anymore,” he whispered seriously. She held his eyes as she smiled slightly.

“I promise everything will be fine, Drake,” she whispered. She kissed his lips tenderly before pulling away and leading him to the table, where Alicia and Jamie were already sitting.

As soon as they sat down, Umbridge was upon them, leering over them. Emily concentrated on her food, smiling largely.

“What do you think you are doing, Mr. Malfoy?” she sneered. Emily choked on her bread, clearly not expecting the foul woman to go after Draco.

“He’s eating, professor, what does it look like?” Emily said sarcastically. Draco stared at her wide-eyed, but she didn’t meet his gaze.

Umbridge narrowed her eyes at Emily as she continued eating, offering Draco some butter. “Yes, Miss Black, I can clearly see that. But he is doing it at the wrong table. Now, Mr. Malfoy, I suggest you make your way to your own table unless you’d like to join your girlfriend in detention,” Umbridge replied rudely before turning to leave.

Draco sighed and twisted to see Emily’s frown. “I told you not to do it,” he murmured as he kissed her cheek and left for his own table. Emily slumped over on the table, resting against her fist as she played with her mashed potatoes.

You’re giving her what she wants by looking miserable, Alicia warned.

“Fine,” Emily sighed as she straightened up and smiled. She caught Draco’s eye as he sat down near the end of the table, far away from Blaise and Pansy as they shot him glares.

“He looks lonely,” Emily said miserably with a fake smile as Draco ate his food with his eyes trained on his plate.

Jamie rolled his eyes and Alicia sighed. “I have no idea why he would look lonely. I mean his entire house thinks him a traitor and they hate his girlfriend is all. That’s no reason to be lonely,” Jamie said sarcastically. Emily glared at him while Alicia chuckled.

“Now I want to pull a Weasley,” she stated miserably.

“Suck it up; you have detention with Umbridge in ten minutes,” Alicia told her. Emily sighed as she downed her juice in one sip and then headed for the Slytherin table. Draco met her half way, immediately intertwining her fingers with his as he walked her to her personal hell.

“I think we’re going to have to skip the Great Hall and go straight to the kitchens if we want to eat together again,” Emily sighed.

“I wouldn’t mind that,” Draco murmured. “Do me a favor,” he said suddenly. She nodded quickly as she gave him a curious smirk. “Don’t do anything to get further detentions.” She chuckled lightly before kissing his cheek. He flashed her his crooked grin as she leaned into his side. They finally made it to the dreaded classroom and Draco pulled her into a hug.

“Be good,” he reminded her.

“Yes, sir,” she whispered sarcastically. He kissed her forehead before she entered the room.


Emily plopped down on the sofa in the Common Room, rubbing the back of her hand. Hermione handed her the Murtlap Essence and she took it with a grateful smile.

“Between you and Harry,” she said, shaking her head.

“Thanks, ‘Mione,” Emily murmured as she soaked her hand in the liquid, wincing momentarily.

“Did you get detention again?” Jamie asked with a laugh. Emily sent him a look that made him laugh harder.

“No, I promised Draco that I wouldn’t get into any more trouble,” she replied coldly.

Jamie rolled his eyes. “Uh huh, like that will hold up,” he replied with a grin.

“Oh shut it, will you?”

“You’re coming to the game tomorrow, right?” Alicia asked from the armchair closest to the fire.

“Yep,” Emily replied with a nod.

Hagrid has a surprise, Alicia’s voice sounded in her head. Emily narrowed her eyes in confusion.

Care to elaborate?

You’ll see, she replied with a smile and Emily sighed.

Hello Emily. Nice post. I don't blame Emily at all for her acting the way she did. And I don't blame them for being upset Draco having to move. I've never known of the law that each house has to eat at their own house table. Maybe unspoken? Even so, Umbridge has no right making it her buisness. I can't wait till she gets what's coming to her. And the next post has to come quick so we can find out what Hagrids suprise is. Please Abi? Great work Emily.

POSTY TIME!

“Who was expecting a giant?” Jamie said, shaking his head. Alicia laughed quietly.

“Hagrid’s right when he say’s that he’s only tiny- I’ve seen the other giants in Hagrid’s head” She said skipping ahead. There was a loud thumping noise coming from in front of them. “HAGRID!” Alicia shouted, darting forward. Hagrid loaded his crossbow and held it ready. Jamie stepped next to Alicia while Emily gripped Draco’s arm tightly.

“I thought we told you, Hagrid, that you are no longer welcome here?” A voice said through the green half- light. Alicia’s hair was a dark green. A Centaur stepped over a clump of nettles. “Alicia” He said, bowing his head towards her.

“Magorian” She said, returning the head bow. Her voice was sharper than his.

“So,” Another voice sounded nearby and Alicia’s hair turned black. Jamie grabbed her arms to hold her back. “We agreed, I think, what we would do if this human ever showed his face in the Forest again?” Bane said, looking at Magorian. Alicia was trying to free herself from Jamie.

“This human now, am I?” Hagrid said testily, glancing down at the six teenagers. Emily and Draco were now helping Jamie restrain Alicia, whose red eyes were on Bane. “Jus’ fer stoppin’ all of yeh commtin’ murder?”

“You ought not to have meddled, Hagrid, our ways are not yours” Magorian said calmly, his dark eyes watching Alicia. “Nor are our laws- Firenze betrayed and dishonoured us, even you, young one” He added, nodding towards Alicia, who broke free.

“And how have you come to that decision, Magorian? He is closer to protect me! He’s not trying to kill my family!” She yelled, glaring at Bane. A Centaur rested a hand on her shoulder.

“Your temper, young one” He said and Alicia breathed deeply.

“Sorry Ronan...” She said, glaring at Bane again.

“Firenze has entered into servitude to humans” A grey Centaur said in a steely voice. Hagrid’s eyes fell on him as Alicia made a furious noise.

“SERVITUDE!” She screamed. Jamie stepped forwards to stand in front of her. “He’s just helping Dumbledore out! He’s also closer to look out for me! Have you not read the signs? Have the stars not let you in on their secret?” She snapped, pointing towards the sky as she stepped around Jamie. Emily, Draco and Ronan pulled her back again.

“Do not speak to us like that, child!” A black Centaur said in a high voice, stepping through the trees. She stood next Bane, her arms folded across her chest.

“Jasmine... It’s nice to see you again” Alicia said sarcastically, her lip curling slightly at the name.

“Firenze is peddling our knowledge and secrets among humans, there can be no return from such disgrace!” Bane said angrily. Alicia went to launch herself at the Centaur. Jasmine reared and stepped in front of him as Hagrid lifted Alicia off the ground.

“If yeh say so,” Hagrid said, shrugging as he past the struggling girl to Ronan. “But personally I think yeh’re makin’ a big mistake-”

“As are you, human, coming back into our Forest when we warned you-” Bane said but Alicia cut him off.

“Our Forest? Our Forest?” She said, fighting against Ronan’s grip. “It’s everyone’s Forest, you old mule!”

“It’s not up ter yeh who comes an’ goes in here-” Hagrid said angrily.

“No more is it up to you, Hagrid” Magorian said smoothly, killing off the argument he had been watching. Ronan let Alicia back onto the ground and Jamie took her hand firmly. Emily saw the female Centaur’s eyes focus on Jamie. “I shall let you pass today, Hagrid, because you are accompanied by your young-”

“They’re not his!” Bane said loudly, pointing down at Harry, Hermione, Emily and Draco, who all edged towards Alicia. “Students, Magorian, from up at the school! They have probably already profited from the traitor Firenze’s teachings!”

“OI! That’s my dad you’re calling traitor you sour old mule!” Alicia yelled, stepping forwards again and pointing at Bane. Jasmine’s eyes narrowed, still on Jamie. “And you can cut that out, you nag!” She yelled, glaring at Jasmine. “Don’t even think about attacking him!” Emily hugged Jamie’s arm tightly while Ronan pulled him back slightly.

“Then you are traitor too! If you still protect him!” Bane shouted, rearing on his hind legs. Alicia stepped forwards again, stepping slightly to the left so that she was in front of Jamie.

“She should choose- stay a member of this herd or be banished like her father-” Jasmine said as she continued to watch Jamie, who was pinned to Ronan’s side.

“Just because you and Bane lost your son! You’re both so far up your own- !”

“Enough, Alicia” Magorian said loudly. “Jasmine, Bane- Alicia is as much a member of this herd as you are”

“Can you please stop staring at my mate!” Alicia shouted suddenly, her voice and glare murderous as she looked at Jasmine.

“Jasmine, Alicia’s mate is welcome here too- Just like we welcomed you when Bane found you” Ronan said, his hand on Alicia’s shoulder.

“Jamie” Alicia whispered and Ronan nodded once.

“Jamie is a part of this herd through Alicia- Just like you are through Bane” Ronan continued. Jasmine threw a dark look at Alicia before turning and leaving the circle.

“The slaughter of foals is a terrible crime- we do not touch the innocent, Bane” Magorian said, changing the subject. “Today you pass, Hagrid. Henceforth, stay away from this place”

“I won’ be kept outta the Fores’ by a bunch o’ old mules like yeh!” Hagrid said loudly, his crossbow raised in front of him again. Alicia crossed her arms defiantly, making Ronan pull her and Jamie out the way. Emily, Draco, Hermione and Harry moved with them.

“Hagrid,” Hermione said, speaking in a high- pitched, terrified voice as her eyes watched Bane paw the ground. “Let’s go, please let’s go!”

Hagrid stepped forwards, away from the Centaurs, his eyes still on Magorian. Alicia was being dragged along by Harry, Jamie and Draco. Ronan turned and vanished into the trees.

“We know what you are keeping in the Forest, Hagrid!” Magorian called as Bane took off with the other Centaurs. “And our tolerance is warning!” Hagrid looked like he was going to turn back.

“You leave Grawp alone!” Alicia shouted as Emily and Hermione both tried to push Hagrid along. “He’s not hurting you! He’s got as much right as you have to be here!”

“Calm down, you two” Hagrid said, continuing to walk on through the trees. “Ruddy old mules, though, eh?” Alicia shot him a scornful look. “Oh, come off it Alicia! You nearly started a ruddy war back there with Jasmine!”

“Wouldn’t be the first time, would it?” She said as her hair became scarlet again.

“Hagrid,” Emily said as they panted along behind him. “If the Centaurs don’t want humans in the Forest, it doesn’t look like we’ll be able-”

“Ah, you heard them, they wouldn’t hurt foals-” Hagrid said but Alicia spoke over him.

“He means kids...” She said, sighing and shaking her head.

“Anyway, we can’ let ourselves be pushed aroun’ by that lot” Hagrid said dismissively. “And if you’ve got Alicia with yeh, yeh fine... They seem ter’ve accepted Jamie too...”

“Nice try...” Draco murmured, taking Emily’s hand as he face fell. Alicia started laughing.

“I know what’ll cheer you all up...” Alicia said, suddenly smiling widely as she watched the school head back up towards the castle.

“Oh yeah? What’s that?” Jamie said sarcastically, kicking a small stone.

“GRYFFINDOR WON!”

As June arrived, everything became more frantic. All of the fifth years were studying every free moment they had for their upcoming O.W.L.s. Emily and Alicia were both exhausted from reading everything, as were the boys. Not to mention that they, Harry, and Hermione made trips to the forest regularly for Grawp’s sake.

“Can I borrow your notes for History?” Draco asked. Emily nodded without looking up from her book and shoved some parchment in Draco’s face. He chuckled before grabbing the papers from her and then taking her hand. They were sitting at a small table, studying, Jamie and Alicia doing the same right across from them.

“Emily?” Draco whispered.

“Hmmm?” she asked without looking up.

“Stop studying for a second,” he whispered as he kissed the palm of the hand that he was still holding.

“Uh-unh, have to keep studying,” she murmured as she turned the page of her book. Draco, Jamie, and Alicia laughed lightly as Emily kept reading, oblivious to them.

Before she knew what was happening, her chair was being rolled away from the table. She gasped loudly as she grabbed her book just in time before she was out of reach. Draco sighed and pried the book from her hands and threw it back on the table. He crouched down in front of her and smiled as he watched her watching the book.

“Draco!” she groaned. “This is ridiculous! We need to be studying!” she whined. Draco smirked as she finally met his gaze. He pulled her from the chair and wrapped his arms firmly around her waist. She sighed as her arms automatically coiled around his neck.

“You need to relax. Stressing out will do nothing for you, babe,” he murmured whilst kissing her neck. She giggled half heartedly as her fingers wound through his hair.

“I’ll relax after the exams are over,” she sighed as he nibbled on her ear lobe.

“I’m not letting you go until you start relaxing… So you might be missing the exams all together,” Draco said playfully.

“Not funny. Can we please continue studying?”

“Nope,” he smirked. Emily rolled her eyes as she kissed his lips quickly.

“I’m relaxed. Now, can we please study?” she begged him while trying to move toward the table.

“You know, I still don’t believe you…” he said with a wicked gleam in his eye. She narrowed her eyes at him as she tried to retreat and get out of his grasp. But he was having none of that. He grabbed her around her middle and threw her over his shoulder. She shrieked, throwing profanities at the blonde male.

“Madame Pince is going to get onto you if you don’t quiet down,” Draco warned with a smirk. He roughly pushed her chair back under the table, stuffed their books in his bag, and vanished the bag with his wand.

“What are you doing?” Emily hissed.

“Making you relax. You wouldn’t do it the easy way, so now we’re going to do it the more difficult way,” Draco replied simply. Emily groaned as he started for the door, Madame Pince watching with her eyebrows arched and Jamie and Alicia laughing.

After that ‘incident’, Emily decided to mainly study in the Gryffindor Common Room where Draco couldn’t reach her. He, of course, felt confident he’d fail, seeing as his father knew the Head of the Wizarding Examinations Authority, and was almost positive he told her about his immature and traitorous decisions to run off with his girlfriend. She tried cheering him during the moments he demanded she not study for his sanity and hers. She thought it was cute, but also annoying, because she needed to study. These exams determined their entire future and she needed to become an Auror, like her father, so she had to study.

It was the last night to study before their first exam and Draco promised he’d be on his best behavior if she studied with him, so she complied. But she regretted it as soon as they sat down in the abandoned, unused classroom. Draco immediately vanished all of their books and pounced on her before she could make a move. She struggled against him, quite frustrated that he would trick her on this night of all nights. He finally let her go, her wand now in his pocket.

“What is wrong with you? Tonight’s the last night to study!” she growled, still sitting in her chair. She sent him a venomous glare and he snickered. “This is not funny!” she screamed.

“Trust me, love. I’m helping you,” he said quietly as she glared at him again. “Stressing out is only going to make it worse… So maybe if you just relax tonight, then you’ll do even better tomorrow. Trust me when I tell you that you know it all and you’ll do fantastically on that exam,” he whispered as he slowly moved towards her. He stopped short of her and she rolled her eyes, holding her hands out to him. He took them with a cocky grin and pulled her up and into his embrace.

“I hope you know this just means I’m staying up late tonight to study because you won’t let me do it now,” she murmured against his neck. She felt the vibrations from his chuckles and sighed. She slowly lifted her head and he kissed her forehead.

“Thank you,” she whispered as she leaned her forehead against his.

“For what?” he murmured.

“For helping me relax,” she sighed.

“I told you so,” he sniggered and she rolled her eyes.

After breakfast the next morning, the fifth and seventh years waited in the entrance hall. After nine, they were called in class by class to reenter the Great Hall. All of the House tables had been removed and replaced by small tables to seat one. After they were all seated, McGonagall told them to begin.

Emily quickly flipped her parchment over as her heart started thumping.

Remember to breathe, Alicia said in her mind.

Emily breathed quickly, nodding slightly as she caught her eye. She glanced down at the first question and smiled. A) Give the incantation, and B) describe the wand movement required to make objects fly.

Her quill started scribbling quickly as she tried to fly through the exam, but also tried to do her best.

“So?” he asked with a smirk as they sat down under the shade of the trees. Ever since Draco was banned from the Gryffindor table, they had been eating outside or in an empty classroom.

“I think I did alright,” Emily mumbled as she leaned back against his chest. He rolled his eyes, chuckling, as he kissed her hair.

“I bet the first one brought back some memories, huh?” Jamie laughed. Emily and Alicia joined in as Draco looked at them quizzically.

“I’m so not looking forward to after lunch,” Emily groaned. “And I go in before y’all!”

“You’ll do fine; stop worrying,” Alicia chided.

“Is that you being a good friend or telling the future?” Emily asked anxiously. Alicia just shook her head with a small smile as they continued eating.

Hello Emily. Nice look at the lives of serious students dedicated to their studies. I could never hope to be as studious as kids these days. I was an awful student. I thought more on the lines of Draco. I can't believe he did that!
Great post Emily. I'll be watching for the next post. But, as you and Abi know, that doesn't necessarily mean I'll get to post right then. But, I'll read it whether I get to comment then or not.

YEP!

The exams were flying by, becoming slightly less stressful due to Emily and Draco’s fights on studying. Alicia had announced that Blaise had messed up on his Charms practical, making his pineapple explode instead of tap dance.

Jamie, Emily, Harry, Ron and Hermione were eating breakfast in yet another unused classroom. Alicia and Draco were with Grawp. Their next exam was Astronomy, followed by Divination and then the practical Astronomy tonight. The time given for the written papers seemed to lurch by in strange amounts, making it feel like they were going very slowly or far too quickly. The practical Divination exam found them staring avidly at examiners hands, soggy tea leaves and empty crystal balls. Alicia seemed to be telling her examiner his life story. And then it was midnight and they were on the Astronomy tower, peering through their telescopes at the night sky. Alicia was copying down her observations twice.

‘Oi... Down below in three- two- one’ Emily glanced down as Alicia’s voice sounded in her head. The front doors had opened and a small group of people were crossing the moonlit lawns. Emily noticed that Harry was watching them too.

‘Where are they going?’ Emily thought as she glanced at Alicia, who was staring down towards the ground instead of through her telescope.

‘Hagrid’s...’

People were starting to pay more attention to the scene below as a fight broke out. Alicia’s hair became so short it looked shaved as it changed to black. Jamie stepped away from his star chart as she went to move towards the stairs.

“No, Alicia- you going down there will only making it worse!” He said, holding her wrist tightly, while still watching Hagrid. Once McGonagall had appeared, Emily had to help Jamie restrain her.

“She’s such a foul, evil woman! Making Hagrid run like that! Ooh, I wish I could hex her!” Alicia hissed as Umbridge passed them in the corridor the next day.

“Careful, Daniels... Be careful what you say these days... That’ll be another ten points off Gryffindor then” Blaise smirked as he passed them and Jamie grabbed Alicia as she went to step forwards.

“Don’t be an idiot, Alicia! Look, let’s just go and study for History of Magic, okay?” He said, a sharp edge to his voice as he spoke to Alicia. They retreated to the library, where the two Gryffindor’s sat as far apart as possible.

“I think I’ve left my books up in the dorm... You coming, Alicia?” Emily said as she stood up. Jamie threw her a warning look before Alicia stood and followed the red head out the room, her arms crossed defiantly over her chest. “What’s with you and Jamie?” Emily said as soon as they were out of ear range.

“Nothing... He’s just stressed about the exams and I keep acting like a misbehaving child so that he has to keep an eye on me” She said angrily, kicking out at a suit of armour.

“Did he say that?” Emily asked, astounded, as they walked through the castle.

“Doesn’t have to, does he?” Alicia said, tapping her head. “And he doesn’t like the fact that we’re spending less and less time together because of the exams and Grawp”

“Well, that’s not your fault- you’re not in charge of the exams, are you? And we promised Hagrid we could look after Grawp- for some insane reason” Emily said, climbing through the portrait hole after Lavender.

“I don’t think it’s that... I think it’s the fact that I have to go all the time- ‘cause of the Centaurs” Alicia said, taking the stairs two at a time. “Which reminds me- are you planning to go into the Forest any time soon?”

“No- I’m not crazy enough to go up against the Centaurs, Alicia” Emily said, pulling her books out of her trunk.

“Hm... I had a vision of you running through the Forest... Like you were looking for someone” Alicia said, frowning slightly. “Maybe I was wrong” She said after a while, shrugging. They were on their way back to the library.

Well?

Hello Abi, I could have swore I commented already. But oh well. I'm sure I must not have though. So sorry. On a happy note though; Happy New Year! Nice work there Abi. I'm glad Alicia was able to keep Emily from going after Umbridge. But, when has she ever been wrong? This is troubling to say the least.
I'll be watching for the next post. Nice job Abi.

“Turn over your papers,” Marchbanks said from the front of the Hall. “You may begin.” The rustling of papers was heard as everyone turned their exams over. And then the quills were scribbling away.

It was on question fifteen that everyone heard a startling scream and then a thump as someone fell over, off of their desk. Emily’s head snapped around and she immediately found Harry on the ground, drenched in sweat, still screaming. Marchbanks was over to him in a hurry while she made everyone else sit down and continue their exam. Emily locked eyes with Alicia from afar before her eyes settled on Draco.

Terror was set in his eyes as he could only imagine what happened that made Harry scream like that. He shivered involuntarily as Emily looked back at Alicia.

Tell me, Emily demanded.

Finish your exam first, and you need to double check number four, Alicia responded.

Tell me, Emily persisted, but Alicia just ignored her. Emily huffed as she peeled her eyes away and looked back at her exam. She went through it quickly and found herself finished a few minutes before they would be released from the exam. She glanced back at Alicia and noticed that she was finished too.

Will you tell me now? Emily whispered in her head.

She felt Alicia sigh and glance over at her.

I knew it, Emily whispered.

His vision may be wrong, Ems, Alicia sounded in her head.

But we know he isn’t…

Emily, I think he’s wrong… If something was going to happen, I’d see it.

But not necessarily. You don’t see everything, Ali.

Before they could continue, Marchbanks told them to put their quills down as he summoned all of their exams. Once they were released, Jamie and Draco quickly made it over to the girls, who were silently arguing. Emily caught sight of Hermione and Ron and quickly went after them, the others following after her.

“Harry!” Hermione exclaimed as she saw him hurrying toward them. “What happened? Are you all right? Are you ill?”

“Where have you been?” Ron demanded.

Draco reached Emily’s side and quickly took her hand. He tried to catch her eye, but her eyes were trained on Harry as he led them along the first-floor corridor. He found an empty classroom and quickly went in, ushering them all forward. After Jamie made it through, he closed the door, only to lean against it and face them.

Alicia looked impassive as she already knew what was happening. She leaned against an old desk as Jamie stole glances at her.

“Voldemort’s got Sirius,” Harry said breathlessly.

“What?” Jamie said, immediately turning to look at Alicia and Emily. Draco was looking at the side of Emily’s head as a tear leaked out of her eye. To hear out loud, to know that it was really happening, and happening now, was a bit much for her.

She tried to control her breathing as Hermione, Ron, and Jamie quizzed Harry for the details.

“He’s trying to use Sirius to get whatever it is he wants from in there… He’s torturing him… Says he’ll end by killing him…” Harry’s voice and knees were shaking as he moved over to sit on a desk to steady himself. Emily sat beside him and took his hand. Their eyes mirrored each other with terror and fright.

“How’re we going to get there?” Emily and Harry asked at the same time.

“G-get there?” Ron stuttered, breaking the silence.

“Get to the Department of Mysteries, so we can rescue Sirius!” Harry shouted as if it were the most obvious thing.

“But—Harry…” Ron mumbled.

“What? What?” Harry asked angrily.

“Harry, er…how…how did Voldemort get into the Ministry of Magic without anybody realizing he was there?” Hermione said in a frightened voice. Emily’s eyes flashed and Hermione gulped as she looked at the pair.

“He’s bloody Voldemort, Hermione! How did he kill all of those people without getting caught? It’s the same damn thing!” Emily screamed as Harry erupted too.

“How do I know? The question is how we’re going to get in there!” Harry yelled in outrage.

“But, guys, think about this,” Hermione started as she took a step toward the glaring siblings. “It’s five o’clock in the afternoon... The Ministry must be full of workers… How would Voldemort and Sirius have got in without being seen? They’re probably the two most wanted wizards in the world… You think they could get into a building full of Aurors undetected?”

Emily wanted to hit Hermione right now. She was asking stupid questions when they needed to get going. They needed to save her dad right now and Hermione and her stupid brain was slowing them down.

I agree with her, Alicia sounded in her head.

Well then you’re stupid because we knew he was going to kill Sirius. This is what we’ve spent weeks crying over, Alicia! He’s being tortured right now!

We don’t know that, Alicia responded.

“Yes we do! Yes we do!” she yelled out loud as she jumped off her desk and stormed up to Alicia while Hermione and Harry continued their spat. “Harry saw it! Harry saw it, Alicia! And it’s the same thing as with Mr. Weasley. That was true, wasn’t it?” Emily shouted angrily.

“I saw the thing with Mr. Weasley! Why wouldn’t I have seen this one?” Alicia shouted back as Jamie took hold of her arms, Draco doing the same to Emily.

“You’re not a bloody professional, Alicia! Maybe you just aren’t up to the level where you see everything yet!”

“Emily, calm down,” Draco murmured in Emily’s ears. Emily’s face turned red as she got angrier.

“Calm down? Calm down?” Emily yelled at him. “My father is possibly dying at this very moment! Now I want to know why the hell we are not on our way there to help him!” she yelled as she yanked her arms free from his grip.

Emily huffed as she looked around at everyone, realizing that they were no longer alone; Ginny and Luna had joined them.

“Okay,” Harry replied to whatever Hermione had said. “Okay, if you can think of a way of doing this quickly, I’m with you, otherwise I’m going to the Department of Mysteries right now—”

Everyone ignored Luna’s question as Hermione started brainstorming.

Hello Emily. Ah, things are getting to the nitty gritty. How would one be able to deny what they seen in their head like Harry did? Why wouldn't Alisha have doubts that it was real when she didn't see it herself? They both have legitimate questions and theories. It would be good if they could listen to Hermione. I'm usually not a fan of hers, but, I know she is right here. (Even the first time I read it in the books I knew she was right.) Great post Emily. I'll be watching for the next.

Ooo...I'm looking forward to your ministry posts! If theya re anything like this, they'll be great!

Alicia tuned out as Harry stuck his head into the fire. Jamie still had her hands behind her back so she guessed that her hair was still black. Not a professional? She’d been doing this her whole life.

“WEASLEY IS OUR-” She broke out of her thoughts as Ginny’s shout cut off and the door burst open to reveal Umbridge and the Inquisitorial Squad. Millicent grabbed Hermione and forced her against the wall. Blaise pulled Alicia out of Jamie’s grip and pinned her against the wall while Goyle put Draco and Jamie into a headlock. Emily was slammed onto the floor by Pansy.

“Get your hands off me!” Alicia hissed as she pushed against Blaise while Umbridge dragged Harry out of the fireplace. Blaise just smirked at her, causing Jamie to try to fight against Goyle. The others were pulled into the room by several more Slytherins brought them in, each one of them- including Neville- were gagged.

Umbridge sent a sixth year boy out of the room. Alicia guessed it was to retrieve Snape, as he appeared in the doorway ten minutes later. She didn’t hear much of the conversation going on in the center of the room.

We’re running out of time! Emily’s frantic voice sounded round her head.

I don’t want to talk to you, Emily Black

“The Cruciatus Curse should loosen your tongue” Umbridge’s voice made her look up, horror-struck.

“NO!” She, Emily and Hermione screamed at the same time.

“You can’t- it’s illegal!” Hermione shrieked but Umbridge ignored her, raising her wand.

“The Minister wouldn’t want you to break the law, Professor!” Alicia shouted, deafening Blaise.

“What Cornelius doesn’t know won’t hurt him-” Umbridge said and Alicia cut her off.

“It was you who ordered those Dementors to attack Harry!” She said, suddenly outraged.

“Somebody had to act- They were all bleating-” Umbridge started but Alicia didn’t hear the rest- her vision became blurred and changed.

“Ahh... It is not long until I have the Prophecy and then I shall have you on my side as well” Voldemort whispered into the darkness.

“I’ll never join you- and you know that... That’s why you’re doing this today!” Alicia answered, her voice slightly louder than his.

“That is part of the reason, yes-”

Someone slapped her round the face, hard. Her eyes sprung open and she was face to face with Umbridge.

“You are coming too, Miss Daniels” She snapped as Harry and Hermione moved towards the door.

We need you- the Centaurs

“Right...” She shoved away from Blaise and followed after Hermione, knowing what the plan was exactly.

Everything went according to plan until the Centaurs had carried Umbridge off.

“Let them go!” Alicia shrieked as Harry and Hermione were pulled off the ground.

“They are young- we do not attack foals” Ronan said quietly, his arms wrapped tightly round Alicia’s shoulders.

“They bought her here, Ronan, and they are not so young- he is nearing manhood, this one” One of the Centaurs said, shaking Harry roughly.

“She was forcing me to lead her and them to you! She wanted to kick you out of the Forest!” Alicia cried, trying to break free of Ronan.

“Do not get involved in this fight, young one” Magorian said sternly as Ronan let Alicia go.

“I can’t! This is my fight! The stars- that girl they talk about- that’s me!” She said loudly, tears splashing onto her chest. “I have no choice anymore! I’m in too deep to turn away!”

The Centaurs swapped long looks before setting Harry and Hermione down. They moved towards Alicia, who hiccoughed.

“Take care, then, Alicia” Ronan said before they were forced to scatter as Grawp arrived. The result was the three teenagers were drenched in the giants blood, due to the many arrows now embedded into Grawp’s face.

“What did you mean?” Harry said as they hurried away from the small clearing.

“Exactly what I said- I just told them that the girl getting hurt was me” Alicia said, giving him a quick smile before tripping over a tree root. They slowed and stopped in another tiny space.

“Grawp might kill them!” Hermione said in a shaking voice.

“I’m not that fussed, to be honest” Harry said bitterly, kicking a tree.

“I am...” Alicia said coldly. “They can take care of themselves, Hermione, don’t worry” Alicia shot Harry a dirty look. “Where do we go from here?”

“We need to get back up to the castle” Hermione answered immediately.

“By the time we’ve done that, Sirius could be dead!” Harry retorted angrily. Alicia refrained from rolling her eyes.

“Well, you can’t do much without wands, can you?” She said, the urge to slap him very strong. “And you haven’t got a broom so you can’t even get to London!”

“She’s got a point, Harry” They turned to see Ron step through the trees- Draco, Emily, Jamie, Ginny, Luna and Neville behind him.

“How did you get away?” Hermione asked, as Draco handed her and Harry their wands.

“Couple of Stunners, a Disarming Charm, Puking Pastiles, Neville bought off a nice Impediment Jinx- but Ginny was best, She got Zambini with a Bat Bogey Hex- it was superb” Emily said, grinning at the fourth year.

“We saw you out the window and followed- where’s Umbridge?” Jamie said, glancing round through the trees.

“The Centaurs carried her away” Hermione said quietly.

“And they left you behind?” Neville said, astonished.

“No- Alicia’s part-centaur, so she got us out of trouble just before Grawp arrived” Harry said, wincing as his scar hurt.

“Who’s Grawp?” Luna asked, looking round at the others.

“Hagrid’s little brother- Harry, has You-Know-Who got Sirius or-” Draco started and Harry cut him off, nodding.

“Yes- and I’m sure he’s still alive but I can’t see how we’re going to get there!”

What’s wrong?

Alicia glanced sideways at Jamie, who was watching Harry argue with Luna.

“Try the Threstals coming straight towards us from behind Harry” Alicia said, not even listening to the conversation.

I know about that- you didn’t see what Harry saw... Emily told us that that was why you were fighting

And I spoke to Voldemort through my head

“WHAT” Jamie said out loud, causing the others to stare at him. “Sorry...”

They joined the rest of the group as they climbed up onto a separate Threstral each. Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Emily and Jamie got help from Luna and Alicia due to the fact that they couldn’t see the winged horses. Then, after a quick mumble from Harry, they were off.
