HAIIII, I'm Dee!

Alrighty, so I was discussing this idea with the awesome people at The Shh/TP, and everyone seemed to like it so I decided to give it a try!

Plot:
What happens to the many witches and wizards who attend Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, and all the other wizarding schools of Europe (and the rest of the world too, I guess) after they graduate?
According to HPL, nothing.

But that's no fun. College is one of the most exciting times of your life (or it's supposed to be, anyway. Lol)!
So, why not start up a university just for witches and wizards around the world? This isn't going to be the first university ever, in this RP universities are as normal to every witch's and wizard's life as it is to us muggles; nothing out of this world.

Wenlock University, founded in 1479 in honor of the popular witch Bridget Wenlock, is one of the largest magical universities in London, and it's well-known for its high standards and notable alumni. This is where our RP will be taking place, where a large group of students coming from different wizarding schools all around the world will meet each other for the first time (or not, perhaps some of them had already attended school together), and together enjoy some of the best years of their lives - there's still exams, and classes, and that stress that came with their first schools, but there's also a lot more freedom. You get to choose what classes you're going to take, when they'll start, how many days a week you'll go; there's no such thing as "detention" anymore, you're free to walk out of class whenever you want; and there's no nagging parents waiting to scold you for getting home at five in the morning. You're in dorms, there's no parents to give you rules! You're finally… an adult.
What you do with your time is entirely up to you; whether you do your homework or attend class is, again, up to you. You don't have to eat your vegetables anymore, and no nagging teachers will take House points away from you if you wander around past curfew. There is no curfew. But you still get to have the fun of joining sports teams if you like, and this time the matches aren't friendly little games between Houses - you play against other Universities now, against people who are seriously considering these sports to be their career. If sports are not for you, you can always join sororities or fraternities - as long as you make it past initiation.

So what will become of your characters once they begin living "the college student lifestyle"?
Some kids might go wild, they can't handle so much freedom. Will they go to class only once a week, take only two classes per semester and spend the rest of their free time playing Quidditch, partying, and chasing after girls until three the next morning?
Or will they continue with their goody-two-shoes personality? Take three times more classes than the average student, spend weekends locked up in their dorms studying?
Perhaps.
Or perhaps, some people will change… the nerdy girl will suddenly become the one everyone looks up to as the most beautiful, the most charming? Will the typical jock with his perfect grades and amazing Quidditch skills become a failure, too lazy to attend his classes and suddenly shunned by his classmates?
Who knows!

What your charries do in college, who they socialize with, what cliques they join, how they spend their weekends, how they perform in classes, everything is entirely up to you. Make them kings and queens, or make them failures. It's up to you. =]

So, the RP is obviously about kids attending the same wizarding university.

The layout for this school will be the same as any other muggle college or university, the only difference would obviously be their majors and classes which would have to match something kids in the wizarding world would take, obviously.

Some Must-Knows

All the kids in the RP should be either in their freshman or sophomore year. No seniors about to graduate or anything, please.
There will be two students per dorm room.
Roommates must be girl-girl or boy-boy (bahaha, no, you don't get that much freedom yet!)
Your character's class schedule is entirely up to you. It would be nice to have at least some charries with similar schedules so they can attend a class together and have a bit of it RPed out, though not the whole thing.
If your character is a sophomore, he or she may already be part of a fraternity or sorority, and he or she may help come up with the evil tasks they'll have the freshies do as part of initiation into their frats/sororities.
Characters are not limited to just students - you can RP a sports coach, a professor, anything you want.
Since this is a university, not everyone will be native to its location (which would be England, I suppose). Your charrie may be an international student, if you want them to be.
Since we're starting up a whole new school from scratch here, it would be a LOT of work and too much info at once to give you guys like a whole layout of the school's buildings and classes and this and that, so you may make that up as you go along.
Be crazy, have your charries perform wild stunts, get them in trouble, put them in unlikely situations, just add on to the plot to keep it fun!
If you guys have plans with someone else about dorming your charries together, just add in your bio something like: "Roommate: Bob Smith." If you don't have a roomie yet, we'll randomly mix the charries up together; aaaand if your charrie just doesn't want any roommates at all, he or she may have a single dorm room for themselves (just make sure to clarify that in your bio.)
We'll be starting the RP about a month after the first day of classes, so everyone should be at least a little familiar with each other.

Alrighty, guys! So… I'm kinda dumb.

Turns out there's no sororities or frats in English universities, or they go by another name, I'm not sure. Either way, it's too late to move the school to the US now, soooo… uh… here's a Wiki page on what sororities and frats are?

But since this is just an RP not a REAL univ. and stuff, we're just focusing on the putting-freshmen-through-difficult-tasks and hardcore-partying parts of being in sororities or fraternities.

"Oh, sorry," Faris mumbled, his gaze glued to the ground as they crossed the large courtyard of the school. "I guess the events of the mornings have left me a bit... what would you English call it? Oh, that's right; I feel a bit knackered." He snorted as soon as the words came out of his mouth. Even though he had been in England for a short while, his accent was still a bit thick. He had sounded almost as ridiculous as Jillian when she attempted Italian, or Winston before he had been amnesiatic.

He wasn't sure why she was laughing. Or stating the obvious. Did she really need to be like that? But then he had gotten the feeling that she never really liked Rosie much though he had never asked her why.

She asked him out? Hailey asked him out...

"Sure," he replied without even really thinking about it. Then he noticed that she was blushing. If she didn't stop soon, he would start to as well.

He said yes? YES??? Hailey was shocked and her face clearly showed it. Her mouth was hanging wide open and her eyes were huge also.
"You w-will?" She said. Well, this was something new. Did this mean that their conversations wouldn't be awkward now?
"Great!" The blushing was gone, and was replaced with a smile.

Now he could start to feel himself blush a bit. She seemed to be pleasantly surprised that he had yes to her, and that made him feel rather awkward really. He hadn't had a girl who seemed all that interested him him before.

"I didn't think you would want to. But I - I like you." He did like her really. He just was a paranoid fool.

Errr... Since when did he like her? That was something he wasn't really sure about. "I don't know. Maybe I have for a while." He scratched his head thoughtfully. He was rather confused by all this.

Meh. He got the idea that she wasn't too thrilled about it right now. Maybe she was sensitive about this stuff, even though she had been the one to ask him. "Because I thought that you didn't like me while Rosie did."

Jillian couldn't help but chuckle softly as Faris shared with her that he was feeling a bit 'knackered', his choice of words amusing the girl to no end. "Nice word, Patino," she said with an amused smile, following closely behind Taylor and Winston as they made their way over to the castle. And once at the castle doors, Jillian grew a little eager to be rid of them once and for all. "Alright, you guys know your way over to the hospital wing from here, don't you?" she asked, most specifically addressing Taylor, since Winston didn't even know where he was standing.

Faris shook his head, knowing that his attempt at English slang had sounded idiotic. Once they reached the stone steps that led inside of the castle, Taylor turned around, finally releasing Winston's arm. Glancing over, she was proud to see that she had left somewhat of a red mark on his skin. He deserved it for forgetting his place back in the forest. "Well," She began, sticking her nose up as she pursed her painted lips. "I hope we don't see you peasants at the campout later. Do everyone a favor and get eaten by a... oh, I don't know, a flesh-eating bugbear." A smug smile on her lips, she turned and snapped her fingers, cueing Winston to follow her inside. "Let's go, doll," She called.

Jillian narrowed her eyes at Taylor as she hoped aloud that they wouldn't meet in the campout later on and get eaten by a flesh-eating bugbear. The nerve! Here she had wasted about fifteen minutes of her life walking these two idiots back to safety and that's how they thanked her?! "Yeah, we'll make sure to let you know allll about that, Corpse Bride, as I highly doubt the nurses will be letting you out of their sight for the rest of this day," she said heatedly, before turning sharply and getting a hold of Faris' wrist, dragging the boy along with her, far from the castle where she wouldn't be tempted to just hex the annoying pair off to the moon. "Let's go, Patino, I bet the campout's started by now."

Faris jogged along, although his head turned to look back and make sure that the snobs were out of earshot before she spoke. Attempting to use some English slang once more, Faris began to speak, "She was bang out of order, Jill. I told you that we should avoid them at all costs. They might be funny, but still." He loosened his wrist from her tight grasp as he kept trotting with her. "They made us waste about an hour of the time that we could have spent actually finding the rest of the class."

Jillian snorted as Faris began speaking, using some English slang again, something which amused her to no end. She couldn't help it, though, it was so hilarious to hear him use slang that not everyone necessarily used all that often, and then with his Italian accent it just sounded even funnier. The girl was so amused that she was a little delayed at getting the rest of his message. "Yeah, you're right..." she muttered, which was highly unusual of Jillian. She never told anyone they were right, but this only went to show how little attention she was paying. "Do you wanna walk there or are you up for another broom ride?" she asked with a bit of a malicious grin, well aware of how terrified poor Faris had grown of being anywhere near her when she had a broom in hand. "If you want, you can steer this time," she offered.

Faris was glad that his pitiful attempts at assimilating into British cultured had lightened her mood somewhat. He usually didn't like embarrasing himself, but he only did it because he didn't want Jill to fume all throughout their trip. As she spoke, his eyes traveled to the broom and his brow furrowed. "Erm, no thanks," He attempted to speak nonchalantly, shrugging his shoulders. "I'd rather walk. You get, erm, more exercise that way." He knew that she wouldn't buy his lame excuse, but it was worth a try. Faris was in his element while on the ground, not in the air, and especially not in the air with Jillian.

Jillian rolled her eyes as Faris decided he wanted to walk, as he got more exercise that way. "Yeah sure, and I'm next in line for the English throne," muttered the girl sarcastically. But she made no complaints and went along with this little walking plan of his, making her way over to the forest beside the Italian boy.
However, that peace didn't last too long.
Only a few moments later, Jillian with sighing obnoxiously loud with annoyance. "At this rate we'll be getting there tomorrow!" she complained. "And it's burning hot out here, there's not a single tree in this path!" she added, brows furrowed disapprovingly at this little trip they were making.

Faris ignored her sarcasm, walking as they burned under the powerful sun on this unusually warm day in England. He was used to this heat, as Italy was close to the equator and was usually warm. Jill, however, was not. She and her fair skin were used to the biting cold. Stopping in his tracks, Faris turned and sighed. "What about apparating?" He suggested, still wary of hopping on a broom no matter who helmed it. "Or are there restrictions for that over here, too?" He paused, hoping that apparation was possible. He would find any excuse not to be airborne again.

Jillian stopped abruptly as Faris suggested they apparate, her eyebrows raising before a grin spread across her face. "Finally you suggest something helpful, Patino!" she congratulated, obviously just teasing the boy. "Indeed we can apparate," she confirmed with a nod. "Only outside of the castle and dormitories, though," she added. "Let's apparate to the outskirts of the forest, where we'd first arrived before wandering inside. See you there in two seconds?"

Faris had to stop himself from sighing with relief at her agreement with his plan. "Definitely," A smile lit up his formerly solemn features and, promptly turning on the spot, he apparated and let Jillian follow his lead. Faris was leaving no room for negotiating about another ride on her broom. After a split second of nausea-inducing travel, Faris landed at the edge of the forest, grasping the trunk of a tree as he almost tripped over a rather large root. Quickly recovering, he looked around to see if Jill had arrived.

Jillian turned on her heel, disappearing half-circle in mid-air, only to reappear a second later somewhere completely different - the outskirts of the school forest. The short second-long ride had been rather nauseating, though, and the girl wasn't feeling too well for a second there, growing a bit dizzy and seeing everything as a blur before she was able to regain composure. It was then that she spotted Faris a short distance away grasping the trunk of a tree as if his life depended on it. Jillian snickered at the sight, making her way over to the boy. "See our class anywhere, Patino?" she asked, glancing around for any signs of the professors or other students.
