Ok, I'm back. Whew, fun trip indeed. Saw my cousins and aunts and uncles. Got lots of hugs and kisses. My grandparents gave me cookies. lol. Will have a post for u tonight. Almost done. Michelle, ur just being weird. lol, just kidding. Donating blood is to help save lives. Without ppl donating they wouldn't be able to give ppl blood transfusions.

Chapter 26:The Truth

Ginny went to see Draco the minute Madam Pomfrey okayed it. All Draco did was toss and turn in bed. "FATHER!!" Draco screamed out as he awakened. "Draco. Are you alright? You...yelled out for your...father." Ginny said uncomfortably knowing that his father was dead. Draco sat up in bed and messed around with his hair. "My mother. Is she alright?" Draco asked worried. Ginny looked at him questionable. He had changed the subject about his father very quickly. Ginny decided not to push the issue about what happened that night, because Draco was more concerned about his mother right now. Plus, Ginny was so thankfully to see the love of her life alive again. "Your mother is recovering right now." Ginny said. Draco removed his covers and was about to get out of bed when Ginny strongly pushed him back down. "And so are you. Please Draco, you need to rest." Ginny pleaded. "Fine. But my mother is going to be ok right?" Draco asked eagerly. "Yeah, she will be fine. It will just take her awhile to get there." Ginny replied. Draco said "Good." and made himself as comfortable as possible. "I'm more worried about you. What happened at your house?" Ginny asked just as The Minister Of Magic walked past Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Hagrid. "I would like a word with you Mr. Malfoy. Alone." Said Cornelius Fudge as he glanced at Ginny. "Whatever you have to say to me, you can say in front of my girlfriend." Draco replied as he looked Fudge square in the eyes. "Very well. As you know, The Ministry Of Magic is aware when someone has performed an Unforgiveable Curse. We knew that someone had performed one at Malfoy Manor. When we got there, we discovered Lucius Malfoy's dead body." Draco moved uncomfortably in his bed. "I want to know what happened, and I want to know now." Fudge said strictly. Everyone including Madam Pomfrey were waiting to hear Draco's answer. "My father's dead. That's what happened." Draco answered coldly. Fudge gave Draco a look of anger, because Draco dared to be rude to the Minister Of Magic. "I know he's dead. Tell me how it occured." Fudge said losing his patients. "My father was a cruel Son of a B***h, so I killed him." Draco lied. Ginny looked Draco in the eyes, searching for an answer that made more sense than that. "That can't be true mate." Ron said, not believing a word of it. "Come on Draco. That can't be." Hermione said. "Silence! I want the truth, and I'm not leaving here until I get it." Fudge said. "Calm down Cornelius." Dumbledore said as he entered the Hospital Wing. "Albus, Mr. Malfoy refuses to tell me the truth about what happened between him and his father." Fudge replied hotly. "Perhaps he won't talk to you Cornelius, but maybe he will talk to me." Dumbledore said as he looked at Draco consideratly through his half-moon glasses. Fudge looked outraged. He couldn't believe that Dumbledore had the nerve to undermine a Ministry offical. "No Albus. I will not allow it." Fudge said to Dumbledore as he let his pride get in the way of being a good Minister Of Magic. "You will not allow me to get the answers you so desperately want?" Dumbledore asked cooly. Harry grinned at how smart and cool Dumbledore handled himself. Fudge looked very embrassed at Dumbledore's remark. "This is not over Albus. I expect you to inform me with any answers you recieve." Fudge replied trying to come out looking as in charge as possible. Then he stormed out, bumping into Hermione as he walked out and didn't turn to apoligze. "Hey." Harry said angryly. Harry went to go after Fudge to get an apology for Hermione. "Just forget it." Hermione said as she tugged at Harry's p.j. shirt. "We have more important things to deal with." Hermione said as she turned to look at Draco. Harry nodded back in agreement. Draco looked at his friends looking at him, then turned his attention back on Dumbledore and Ginny. "I think you would feel better talking to Professor Dumbledore Draco." Ginny said with a simpathic smile. "Ok Gin. But I don't want you to leave my side." Draco said bravely. Ginny squeezed his hand tight. "I'll never leave you." Ginny replied. Dumbledore showed them a faint smile. He admired how much Draco and Ginny had been through and still persevered. "Guys, no offense, but can you leave?" Draco asked Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Hagrid had made sure Fudge left the castle. "Ok Draco." Hermione replied with a tiny nod of her head. "Whatever you say mate." Ron said. "Just get better. I hope your mother gets out of here soon." Harry said as they all left. Draco said a quick thanks and looked back at Ginny and Dumbledore. "Let's get this over with." Draco said to Dumbledore. "Normally, I would use the legilimens spell, but I respect you Mr. Malfoy. I would like to hear from you what happened tonight." Dumbledore said with a twinkle in his eyes. "Thanks sir. I appreciate that." Draco said tiredly. He had not gotten his recommended amount of sleep yet. Draco looked at Ginny nervously, and she gave him a reassuring look. "Well, ever since I could remember, my father..." Draco paused as the image of his father's dead body falling to the ground flashed across his mind. He continued with great difficulty. "My father has beat me. He would come home upset about something that happened at work, and take his anger out on me. He never used a spell. He beat me the old fashioned way, the way his father beat him. He never use to beat my mother. Then... he started when Harry gave him back Tom Riddles diary." Draco paused again looking at Ginny. She had a guilty expression on her face. Draco regretted mentioning Tom Riddle's Diary. "Father said that Harry Potter had meddled in his affairs again. He said Lord Voldemort would be furious if he ever found out that his diary was destroyed. So... that's... when...he started...hurting my mother. She kept begging him to stop. But, he... wouldn't. He...just kept hitting her...over and over and over again." Draco said as tears started to form in his eyes and anger grew in his voice. Ginny had the saddest look on her face. She could feel how much pain Draco was in. "I understand this is most difficult, but please continue." Dumbledore urged. "I tried to stop him. To get him away from my mother, but he was always too strong. He was too smart too. Whenever I was home, he would take my wand away, so I couldn't use magic against him. So...I knew that I had to stop him. I couldn't sit back and let him hurt my mother any longer. So...tonight, I went to my house and discovered it was a wreck. My father had trashed the place...like he's done so many times before. I searched for my mother everywhere, and finally found her in magical binds in the basement." Draco said with pain in his eyes, as he clenched his fists together as if he were ready to punch a wall. Ginny stroked Draco's hand, trying to comfort him. "When I went to free my mother, my father appeared. He told me why he had done this to my mother, and why I had betrayed him. He yelled at me alot. Then he pulled out his wand, ready for a fight. I pleaded with him not to do this. He said...that...he...had no...son." Draco struggled to say as his tears began pouring out of his eyes. Ginny quickly got him a tissue. "Thanks Gin." Draco said as he took the tissue and wiped away his tears. "So my father and I started to duel. After a couple of spells, I managed to conjure my father's wand out of his hands. Then...the next thing I know, my father is coming at me and knocks me down. I dropped both wands. He starts hitting me. He was hitting me harder than ever before. I thought he was going to kill me. So...I used my last bit of strength and got him off of me. Then..." Draco paused trying to catch a breather. "I got myself to a wand and used...The...Killing Curse on him." Draco said as more tears ran down his white cheeks. "I swear Sir, it was Self-Defense! I didn't want to kill him, but I had too. I had to stop him." Draco managed to say in between sobs. Ginny started to cry as well. She never imagined that Draco could be in so much pain. She didn't think that Draco had actually killed his own father. But, now she knew the truth. Dumbledore sighed. "Mr. Malfoy, Draco. I am eternally grateful to you. You have showed me some real courage to tell me what happened. I will inform The Ministry at once. I will leave you now. I'm sure the both of you have much to talk about." Dumbledore said as he got up to leave. "One last thing Draco, get well. We need someone like you up and about." Dumbledore said with a smile. Dumbledore left the Hospital Wing very quietly, it was still very late at night. Draco layed back down on his bed. He looked at Ginny for a moment. All was silent. "I know we have a lot to talk about. Can we talk tomorrow? I do have to rest." Draco asked tiredly. "Sure. We'll talk tomorrow." Ginny replied. Then Ginny got up and climbed into bed with Draco. Draco looked at Ginny in surprise and joy. Ginny smirked. "Don't get any ideas. I've just missed you so much. I don't want to leave your side." Ginny said sweetly. Draco grinned at her. Then they both fell asleep quickly, in eachother's arms.

I'm really sry I haven't been able to post. We're having a MAJOR Heat Wave over here. The heat is making me sick. There might even be a Blackout today or 2moro. So don't know when I'll be able to post. I gtg now and take some medicine. Then make dinner. Sry again. It's 110 degrees right now!!

Chapter 27:The Decision

Several days passed, both Draco and his mother were recooperating smoothly. News had spread about Lucius Malfoy's death. The Wizarding world was shocked. The Daily Prophet had been running a series of articles about Draco's involvement in his father's death. Even Ginny was surprised at the headlines. One particular article read this:

LUCIUS MALFOY FOUND DEAD AT MALFOY MANOR!!!! By:Miriam Slack

Earlier this morning, former Ministry Of Magic employee and alleged Death Eater, Lucius Malfoy was discovered dead at his mansion home near Crestwood Lakes. When The Ministry Of Magic officals got to the scene of the crime, they discovered that the mansion was a wreck. They found that Lucius Malfoy had one fatal wound from The Killing Curse. As everyone knows, the Killing Curse is an Unforgiveable Curse that is against the law. The Minstry Of Magic is seeking to question Lucius Malfoy's wife and son in regards to their possible involvement in the death. The Minister Of Magic, Cornelius Fudge had this to say. "We are doing everything in our power to discover the truth about Lucius Malfoy's death. I will not rest until the person responsible is put in Azkaban where they belong. In a distant muggle town nearest to Hogwarts someone was reading the old newspaper. They were staying in a condemmed building. The roof was slowly falling apart. The paint on the walls had already begun peeling off. There were loose floor boards, that every once in awhile would break through and make a whole on the floor. There were hundreds of spider webs all around the ceiling corners. The windows had so much dust on them, that no light could possibly shine through. The building hadn't been used for years. There were three people in the room. The rest were downstaris. Lord Voldemort tossed the old newspaper to the side. Wormtail looked at his master nervously. Bellatrix Lestrange stood still waiting for her master to speak. Voldemort paced back and forth for a few moments. Then he stopped and looked at his servants. His snake like nostriles flared in anger. "How could this happen?! Malfoy was in perfect position for my plan." Voldemort asked furiously. "My Lord...maybe I can...help with the plans." Bellatrix said. Voldemort gave her a cold look that terrifed her. She knelt on her knees and asked for forgiveness. "I can't trust you to not mess up my plans. After your failure at The Department Of Mysteries, do you really think I will use you in my plans anytime soon?" Voldemort asked coldly. "I'm sorry for my stupidity my Lord. Please don't punish me." Bellatrix pleaded nervously. "That's exact what you deserve! I should punish you, but I won't. I will spare you this time." Voldemort said as he looked down at Bellatrix with his red eyes, for she was still on her knees. "Thank you my Lord. Thank you. I will not disappoint you again my Lord." Bellatrix said very gratefully. "Silence!" Voldemort roared. Bellatrix bowed her head down in obedience. "Don't make promises you can't keep Bellatrix. Malfoy's death was a loss to me. He would have proved very useful had he lived. But no matter. Wormtail!" Voldemort yelled. Wormtail scurried over to his master. "Yes...my Lord?" Wormtail asked curiously. "I want you to start the first step of my plans. You have proved yourself to me." Voldemort said as he touched Wormtail slightly on the shoulder. Wormtail flinched. Voldemort did that to make him even more scared than he already was. Bellatrix looked on jealously. "Thank...you...master." Wormtail said. Then he disappeared through the dirty door. Voldemort looked back at Bellatrix. "Don't worry Bellatrix. Your day to prove yourself to me will come. Should Wormtail fail, and he better not, you will take his place. You may stand back up now." Voldemort said generously. "Thank you master. You won't be sorry." Bellatrix said graceously.
