Professor Rae had fought in many skirmishes in her time as an Auror. She was renowned for her calmness in times of strife, but she'd been out of the business for a while now and she had never faced off against a Wizard as powerful as Voldemortist. She fully expected in that moment to die, but she took a step back and called over her shoulder. If only she could get the door sealed with everyone inside.
"Get back in the school! Get inside!" She reached for her wand and looked at Voldemortist, who seemed only amused. "You can't hope to succeed in getting what you've come for."

ari slowly walked outside onto the castle`s lawn with her hands deep in her pockets & her head cast downward. as she walked, she nearly bumped into a door which caused her to look up in surprise.
"whoa there." she said with her hands out to distance herself from it.
as she walked, she saw a few people around and she decided to see what the commotion was about.

Without taking the time to think about it, Rae raised her wand and shouted, "Protego!" A protective shield burst forth, reflecting the spell back towards the Dark Lord. Releasing the shield, Rae then sent a flash of blue light right after it.
He was right, of course, and they both knew it. It was totally foolish of them to have left the school unguarded. It was foolish of her to have opened the door to retrieve the bodies. It was foolish of her to have brought students out with her. If they all made it out alive, she would be very lucky indeed.

He easily dodged the spell and smiled as he spotted a student ducking behind a doorway. Ignoring the professor for the moment, knowing she'd probably defend the students at all costs, Lord Voldemortist raised his wand over her head toward the door and blasted it to smitherines, larger chunks falling on the girl's head as she crouched in 'safety' and causing her to fall unconcious. "I'm afraid some of your precious students are in trouble," he sneered.
