ooc: Please remember no one is to be out on the grounds without a teacher's express permission and a staff member WITH them. You will be dealt with accordingly if you break this rule.

The following students DO have permission to help mod this thread when it is open: Kirstie McGonagall, Elijah Young, Jennifer_W, Mrs.Weasley, and Hermione_loves_Ron. Listen to them as they have authority from ME.

Jenn had put away her things and made her way to help the others guard. She eyed a fellow claw and gave him a look. "Seriously, stop giving claws a bad name and get inside." Jenn told Ron as she walked to Kirsties side. "People just never learn." She added with a sigh.

Anj turned swiftly back to Rae. She didn't have to speak, she wouldn't of known what to say anyways, but that one sentence meant the world to her. Maybe she should. Maybe she would...

Her eyes drifted slowly back to the castle, and a deeper frown formed across her face. "It looks like your entourage has company.."

*Kirstie watched as Ron finally saw some sense and went back inside where he belonged. She shook her head, hoping that he would stay inside. She saw Jenn and was relieved to have more support.*

Rae glanced at the castle. "They've been instructed to deal with it. I trust that they will handle themselves well. In the meantime, how long should we wait for Hendrik? I would prefer we get ourselves all back into the castle as soon as we can."

Terry is relieved to see her cousin, Jenn, outside with them. Too many students were coming too fast. She wished Professor Rae would hurry up. Terry didn't like being so close to Voldemortist. Just the thought of him out in the dark forest gave her chills. "Glad to see you, Jenn. I feel much safer knowing you are with me," Terry said with a smile on her face.

Professor Lainey pursed her lips, and stared at the children. Rae, though a bit naive, had picked a few of the best..and they did seem to be handling themselves quite well. "I'm not sure..I don't think he'd want his students left out here, dead or alive. I can continue guarding them, Rae....you don't have to stay. It's not like..I can die again or anything. Go, and take the students back into the safety of the castle...while the castle's still safe that is.."

Jenn gave a confident smile to her cousin Terry. "No worries cuz, us Weasleys stick together." She whispered to ensure her cousin things would be alright. Jenn really didn't know if things would be alright but if she knew nothing else, somehow these Professors would do everything in their power to protect the school. Maybe putting children in charge of guarding wasn't the best thing, but then again it probably was smartest. Only a child can out-smart another.

Sighing she looked back at the forest, was Voldemortist in there? Hiding from them? Ready to attack? Hopefully all that time away from Hogwarts gave her a better sense and she would be able to protect the ones she cared for. "We'll get through this." She said reassuring herself and maybe the others.

"Look, Anj, I know this isn't an extremely clever idea of mine, letting students stand guard. I"ll probably lose my job or get some sort of terrible write-up about it, but I can't just leave you out here by yourself to guard our students. We need to get ALL the bodies back inside. I don't know if Voldemortist would have any use for them, but... its the least I can do considering I couldn't stop him from making it this far."

"Well...good. Honestly, I was hoping you'd say that. I don't like it out here alone, and I appreciate you staying more than you could know. " She floated back around the corner to eye the blanket covered bodies. In a lowly whisper she said, "I'm glad they all just passed on...none came back like me..."

Professor Rae shifted from one foot to the other. She knew they needed to hurry, but there was something that had been eating her whole all semester. "Anj... I..." She paused and then blurted it all out. "I can't understand why you stayed here as a ghost and Alexander didn't. I've tried to understand and see why he wouldn't want to stay with me, and I know its totally selfish. All I can think is that he didn't really love me as much as I love... loved him." She bit her lip and stared off at the castle doors.

"Oh Rae...," she said sypathetically. "Don't you dare say that again. Him not becoming a ghost, and just passing on through, has absolutely nothing to do with his love for you. You know better than that...I stayed behind because I just could not accept the treachery that went on that night. Betrayal had never settled well with me, and here I am. But, he was the bigger person. He accepted it, Rae. You should be proud of him..."

Even it it is for a 'breath' of fresh air, don't they know better? Don't they care about their safety, and their life? Seems that some don't, when they come waltzing around, acting as if they know everything. He shook his head and continued keeping watch ::

"But if you'd had someone to stay for... wouldn't you have? Kris stayed for Snape. I've never asked her how it felt when he didn't stay for her." Rae leaned against the cabin, feeling weary in every part of her body. "I am putting everything I have into teaching and protecting these children, because there is nothing left to live for. And right now, seeing those students dead and knowing I didn't stop it... I wonder why Alexander died and I didn't."

:ballcap: Spots came flying out to the front lawn in a fury towards the group standing in a circle pointing thier wands in every direction. As he got closer, he recongnize several Staff members. "Professors Rae and Lainey, I got here as soon as I heard, some Ravenclaw named Lily said that some of her housemates were silly enough to venture not only out of the Castle but all the way to Mr. Shrine's hut......next to the forest! Is is too late for them?"

Professor Rae didn't have time to hear Lainey's response before Professor Puppinton arrived. She quickly dried her eyes and tried to look even moderately professional. "I'm afraid we're too late, Professor Puppington. Anj arrived in time to see Voldemortist, but the students had already been... attacked. I've attempted to message the Headmaster, but... he's busy."

Spots looked towards the forest, the same feeling he had coming away from Hogsmeade was telling him that he was out there. "That's terrible," he said finally noticing the blanketed shapes on the lawn. Then he looked at the other ghost present, Professor Lainey, and asked what to him seemed like a normal question, "all of them move on?" he asked.

Rae reacted to his question to Lainey as if she'd been physically hit and moved away from them both. It wasn't a conversation she could bear to have or listen to right now. From her new position, she looked back towards the castle and noted that all her students were still standing vigilant.

:: Elijah looked over his shoulder and caught Professor Rae checking on them. He didn't know if she could see clearly but he smiled reassuringly. He turned back, and thought about the Headmaster. Shouldn't he be here by now? What was taking so long? If any action needed to be taken he was ready and more than willing. He kept his stance, just as strong as ever ::

Anj once again felt nothing but sympathy for Rae...she just didn't understand, and hopefully, for her own good, she never would. She was still gathering up her thoughts, and trying to come up with a way to explain the whole ghost process to Rae, when Sir Puppington showed up in a glimmering rush. Grateful for the distraction, she let them exchange words while she listened quietly. At Sir Puppington's question to her, she simply nodded. "Thankfully, yes.."

"well that's good I guess," Spots responded coldly, he had forgoten that Professor Rae, not being a ghost, would probably be upset at his question. "Professor Rae," he said to her, "I do hope my question didn't offend you, you see we ghosts share many things that those of you who reamin alive wouldn't understand. Certain things are important to us and I only wanted to know if I'd have any company next term since as it seems now, I 'm the only one not taking the potion." Spots looked over to Professor Lainey as he said it, understanding that she had changed her mind about the potion.

Rae didn't turn her head to look back at Professor Puppington, but she responded to him just the same. "You misunderstand me, Professor. I find it admirable that you would be concerned about the students even beyond death, whereas I wouldn't think to ask such a question." She offered a small, supportive smile to Lainey. "I'm only just beginning to learn that its a good thing for someone to pass on and not stick around as a ghost."

Professor Lainey was unsure on how Sir Puppingpton got wind of her decision, but she didn't like it. It was one thing for Rae to know, but the one ghost that she had sided with knowing was a totally different story. "Please...don't give me grief over it, I'm giving myself enough for the both of us. But, Sir..you can't tell me that seeing it actually being done, the potion is actually brewing as we speak, doesn't make you doubt your decision. We could be alive again, Sir Puppington..."she said trailing off. The tinge of guilt from before flared up inside her, and she turned away from them both. "I can't help it. And I don't need your support. I have Rae on my side, and that's all that matters to me." She busied herself with scanning the Forest once more, refusing to look either of them in the face again.

Spots looked at the Professor, "you judge me wrong Professor, just because I have chosen not to take the potion for my own reasons, do not think that I fault you, Marcella, or Professor Airlia or any of the others for taking it. I can not be misled into thinking that anyone thinks like I do, or that what I feel is what anyone else feels. We live with our decisions and are responsibile for them. I have chosen my path and you yours. I will support you as I have supported the others. That does not mean I will change my mind though. I still must stay with my decision and don't see any reason at this point to change it."

Lainey wanted to say, 'Well good for you,' so bad she couldn't stand it, but refrained from being bitter or unprofessional. She wished could be that strong in decision making..but she simply wasn't. It would sure make Lainey feel better if he would change his mind.. "You...are obviously much stronger than I. I'm selfish, and care too much about seeking revenge, to stay this way. I wish I could pursuade you differently, becuase it's going to kill you, no pun intended, to see us alive again, Sir,"she said quietly, still observing the Forest's edge.
