As you walk into the charms classroom, you will see the room as it normally is. Straight rows of desks and chairs, all facing the front of the room where there is the chalkboard and the professor’s desk to the left of it. Your Charms professor, Professor Fuller, is leaning against his desk with his arms crossed over his chest, waiting for you to enter and take a seat.
Do be seated quickly, class is about to start! Class has now begun!

”Alright everyone, be quiet. Sit down.” He was officially grumpy now. Time to start class. Woop woop.
Once everyone had shushed down, Fuller walked to the center of the front of the room and stuffed his hands into his pockets. ”Now, I know it’s only the beginning of the year. Your brains probably turned to mush over the summer from not being in class all the time, so I want to start off with a brief brain exercise. Think of all the things you did this summer. Those of you who are of age, what magic are you starting to use at home now that you are able to? Those of you who are underage, what kinds of magic did you wish you could have done over summer? I want everyone to think of something and answer.” There had to be something they wish they could do at home. Home during the summer was much different than being able to use magic at school.

Well, judging by her short body and the fact that this was her first year here, Ophelia was underaged to do magic at home. So what kind of magic would she have liked to do? Well, there was soo much!
Turn her brother into a toad for stealing her chocolate and hiding it, apparate so that her sister couldn't put her in a bad mood, turn water goblets into bats to watch her mom's reaction and be able to make the garden gnomes chase her like her brother did when she was eight. But since she was only a kid, she would have to wait to play fabulous pranks on her siblings and to enchant garden gnomes. Those sneaky little lawn ornaments got off for now.
Also, waiting till eighteen to use magic anywhere but Hogwarts would be torturous. Her siblings ALWAYS got to use magic in the house, and it was annoying that Ophelia wasn't allowed to. But she wasn't going to foot the blame for her parents getting in trouble with the ministry, so the magic remained up to the older kids at her household. But that didn't mean that her and her neighbor friend didn't pretend to use magic with sticks when they were playing in the woods.
Oooh! She had her answer! A happy hand went up into the air, attached to a happy child. Because she just found her answer! The spell that always ended their fake battles together!
"I wish I could turn my sister into a wombat, because she always thinks she's right and she's an older pest!" Because little sister trauma was traumatic. But have you tried LIVING with her? She always thought she was right, and she got to boss Ophelia around and stuff. And mom always believed her side of the story over the young child's!

'What kinds of magic did you wish you could have done over summer?'
That was a very good question actually, which magic would she have liked to have used? Come to think of it there quite a few things she would have had liked to have used, if only she were allowed to that was. But there was one that came straight to her head that she really wished she could used & made her raised her hand, "W-Well...A-At night I-I couldn't really see the text in m-my books too well when I-I had been reading them..A-And there was a constant feeling that I-I wish I could use L-Lumos.." And with Lumos she could definitely read more clearly, all without her father thinking she were awake. Plus, she would have probably have hidden under her quilt & blankets to hide the bright light.
But yes, Lumos would have been something very resourceful to use over the summer Professor Fuller.

Okay, Heather liked this professor. He didn't put up with any crap. Also, no fakeness required.
And to answer the question: "Alohomora would have been useful." Instead of sneaking back in by climbing in a window, she could've just unlocked the front door. Would've saved her a lot of twisted ankles and hurt fingers.

Ignoring the silly giggling, coughing- whatever that was earlier, Coral pulled out her supplies, glitter ink and parchment, setting it all up neatly, missing whatever it was that was soooo funny it nearly got them all detention.
She neatly put the date up in the top corner of her notes in her loopy neat handwriting, taking a look up at the front of the room. She'd took note that a figure had taken a seat next to Gabe as she'd sorted out her notes. Not that she didn't believe him initially, 'cause she did, but there were more than one seat around him and not all of them were exactly taken...
Trying to shake the thoughts from her head, and actually shaking her head a little in the process, CB caught sight of Zander and gave him a follow up grin. Which he probably wouldn't get a chance to see as he'd sat already....
Moving her attention back to Professor Fuller, she gave the question a good thought and.......
Decided she didn't want to answer.
She didn't want to talk about summer. Or the fights with her sister that had come up after it was all done and over with. Instead, she started doodling hippos in her notebook.

Zeke was happy just casually sitting there, minding his own business, making a mental note to himself to keep from getting on THIS Professor's bad side... he was a grumpy bum now wasn't he. Looooool.
He also didn't know what to make of peoples brains turning to mush, THAT... was a little insulting, but... again, NOT getting on HIS bad side. Nope. Not today at least. Still, Zeke pondered the question the man had posed. What had he done over the summer, and what magic did he WISH he could use.
Duuhhh. Wasn't that obvious? It didn't matter WHAT he did, "I just wanted to do ANY magic, Professor," Zeke answered, his hand half raised in the air, half hesitant. "I don't know any magic aside from the random stuff that happens occasionally, so if I could've, I'dve tried ANYTHING." Even that cleaning stuff, and the stuff to help cook and fun stuff too like... errr... FUN STUFF.
What did Caleb want to do if he could legally use magic? Please, what WOULDN'T he do if he could use magic?! Chores would be a thing of the past! He wouldn't ever get up to do ANYTHING - he'd levitate everything towards him. It would be the life, it really would.
He raised his hand. "I wish I could use magic so I could magically vanish all of the Crup poop I had to pick up in the backyard from Baldwin," he said bluntly. It was true, that was the worst chore of them all!
"Awww, Baldwin. How's Baldwin?" It came out unsarcastically. Rather casually. Cutty had sort of met Caleb's kruppy in the day dream charm Caleb had made so he sort of felt like he knew him.

Someone was well on their way to making the top 5 ultimate Professors list Cutty filed away in the darkest recesses of his brain. In one fell swoop, Fuller had smited Cutty's three least favourite people at the school. He sat at his desk thinking and inwardly celebrating life's little gifts.
Should he tell Fuller, and thus the class at large what he'd actually done during his summer holiday? No. No. Best let the man adhere to his pre-constructed concepts for now. He hardly knew Fuller, but their relationship was taking a step in the right direction thus far in the year. Cutty's hand went up and a buncha blah-blah-blah came out his mouth. Like so, "I wish I knew a few good hoodwinking spells. So I could override the trace and practice magic at home during the summeh."

See? It was obviously easy to get on this professor’s bad side, and Brooklyn felt like watching the slightly older student who’d been threatened with detention. Just to see if it looked like he’d meant it, since why anyone would willingly seek out detention was weird to her. Getting her way certainly wasn’t, and that brought her attention back to the crazy head girl, who was still convinced that she was an evil fairy. She didn’t particularly care for the act. Of all the fictional characters she could think of to pretend to be, especially ones who held any sort of real power, she would have never chosen that. It was just weird, as was the fact the older girl had consistently tried to take over the professors’ desks and or mats in classes. Power could be had everywhere, and there wasn’t a need to make a scene just to get it.
She knew that. She was planning on getting it, and that was why she needed the professors on her side. Prefects were good for that too, barring the crazy ones. Anything that could mean she could do as she liked. When she wanted to, as right now it was all making sure she could. She’d actually act on it later. “Professor, I wanted to do everything. Well, aside from completely useless spells, but I couldn’t. Not when I don’t know them yet,” she answered, raising her hand. Aside from Scourgify. She knew that spell from home, and then the ones she’d learned in other classes so far, but she hadn’t known those before she got here. And anyway, obviously her brain couldn’t have turned to mush from not being in class. She’d only had what her mother taught her before now, and she wasn’t allowed to cast spells at home.

Hadleigh wasn't exactly sure what spell she would have liked to be able to use at home. Her mother couldn't preform magic but her father could so she had a bit of both wizard and muggle in her home. When her father was around things were done magically but of course when it was her and her mother it was all done by hand.
Slowly lifting her hand into the air she answered softly. "Right now I would have to say none mainly because I'm not used to being able to do magic. Everything I've ever done was by hand or something like that, maybe next year though after I've been here at school that will change." She thought her answer was good because how would one know what spells they'd like to do if they haven't ever done any before?
At this point Cyprien wasn't sure what spells he would have liked to use...hmmmm....not really sure....welll he always wanted to make things levitate. "Wingardium Leviosa would have been a fun spell" he answered. Being able to make stuff fly around his room would be pretty awesome.
Eden snorted at Connor. The Gryffindor was truly ridiculous. But he was HER ridiculous Gryffindor-friendly, of course. Nothing more, and she was confident that she and Connor were just friends. No matter what other people said at all.
"NO. I will NOT. Just the handsome ones." She whispered, so the pretty professor wouldn't hear her. "And I most certainly hate you the most out of everyone in this room." So there, Connor Jones. She smirked, though, and would probably continue to tease him like this all class.
"Ruby Banner--her brother is in my house. In my year. Gabriel?" Honestly, did Connor pay ATTENTION to things? Eden had a lot of nerve, though, because she was very oblivious to everything ever. She tried not to say his name TOO loud do he wouldn't think they were talking about it--they kind of were, but not badly. She just wanted to know why he was peering at Connor in such a way.
HI HELLOs were exchanged, and Eden just sighed. He was friendly enough, good. SHe was going to be really lousy at this class, so it was best that he be---oh. Now he was being grumpy.
Eden just raised an eyebrow. Who had put him in such a mood?! He was FINE a few minutes ago! Ugh. Whatever. He was starting class, and she flicked Connor's shoulder once so that he would quit blabbering away--and paid GOOD attention to Professor...Fuller, apparently.
What HAD she done this summer? She tried to think of something INTERESTING to say. Well...there was one time...with Phe...YES. She would say this aloud. And expect Connor grumbles about it, too. She raised her hand gingerly.
"I actually jumped off a bridge once--" she beamed. And then, she blushed, realizing it sounded really ODD and continued--" With my friend, Phoenix." You know, the puffy-haired Gryffindor? "And we jumped off a bridge into a lake, so it was all nice and fun and full of adrenaline. And it was a very HOT day so..yeah." THERE. She hoped that would be a nice enough story. It might not be entirely legal to just jump off a bridge into a lake...or had it been a river? Eden didn't know. Not the point.

Fuller stood up from his desk and looked Kyroh STRAIGHT in the eye. ”I’m sorry, detention? Is that what you said? You want detention?” Because he would hAPPILY give him one. He wasn’t always a grumpy guy, but there was a time and place for mockery and it wasn’t then. And it wasn’t for HIM, either.
He shot a look to Sophie and Toby too. Because he HAD to. Not because he wanted to. But they had laughed, so the blame had to be shared.

Connor was about to reply to his friend but class had begun and he wouldn't be one of those rude people who spoke when the Professor's did, nope. He was here to LEARN things, He would deal with this kid's hatred of him later..but whatever.
Hmm well there were plenty of times Connor could think of that he wanted to use magic, like having to get out of his bed to grab his remote or doing dishes, even at work it would make filing papers easier, really it was just laziness. But he thought of a good example.
Of course he raised his hand first, couldn't just start talking. "Well, over the summer a lot of my friends live far away, i don't really like flooing. So i wish i could've apparated to see them over summer." Mmmhmm good answer, Jones.

Eden was so distracted by the Professor and all Layla could do was smirk at the brunette as she answered back at her. And then came Connor questioning what she found cliché. She raised her brow, the smirk staying fully implanted on your face. “No need to get so touchy” her voice was lowered to barely a whisper. “I was talking about the classic teacher crush.” The fifteen year old glanced quickly at Eden with a smug expression before looking back at the Professor as he started the lesson. Judging by the pairs reactions something clearly HAD happened between them. Not that Layla really cared.
As for the Professors question, the blonde found it a little difficult to answer. She wasn’t of age and she didn’t even know how to properly control her magic over the last summer and so that half of the question was totally inaccessible to her anyway. She doubted she would use much magic at home either, mostly because her parents were muggles and the only member of her family that could technically perform magic had moved out. And he was useless anyway.
“I guess I’d have to borin’ and say the cleanin’ spells cos when you have four nephews that you have to babysit they leave the place lookin’ a right mess” she answered after raising her hand. It was annoying considering she couldn’t ask the three year old triplets or the five year old Felix to clean up after their mess because they just made it even worse and as she was the only one home at the time with both her parents at work it was left all down to her.

Marigold was feeling a bit strange. Shifting slightly in her chair, she almost muttered 'Charms' under her breath because she was pretty sure that was what Fuller was after, but she didn't let herself do that. Instead, she raised one hand. "Summoning charms." Coz laaaaaazy Hufflepuff over here.

He wasn't quite sure WHY Maddie was so embarrassed about her drawing that wasn't Batman or why Professor Fuller was being a bully when Kyroh had only called him by the wrong name once or why Dot had leARNED HOW TO make SEQUINS and he didn't know about it yet.
That was clearly the most upsetting thing going on in his life right now.

The getting boys to do things thing was a thing, but honestly if Ruby was putting any particular thought into an answer there were a few things she could say that she'd like to be able to do.
For instance it was totally handy being able to quickly dry your nails without waiting around.

Well, Soph wasn't really sure if it was meant as a compliment or not, but she absolutely took it as one, grinning away despite his lack of a reciprocated smile. She tried to look really, really innocent despite the look he was giving her and Tobes, and she managed to peek at her boyfriend and make sure he wasn't taking the scolding from his father figure too terribly. And... it seemed he was taking it pretty hard, based upon the way his whole posture had drooped and he seemed very keen on not making eye contact with anyone ever again in his whole life.
Sophie sighed a little, her expression turned apologetic as she turned her gaze back up to Fuller, wondering if the man realized how quickly Toby's mood had just plummeted, too, and mouthing a "sorry" on behalf of both herself and Tobes.
She was all about remedying the situation as best as she could, of course, and stuck her hand high in the air at the professor's question. She could cheer them both up in an instant, she knew she could. "I wish I could've been able to cast Orchideous to present a bouquet of flowers to people as a congratulations when they shared good news with me." Heeeeeeehehehe. He knew what she meant, right? Even though she was super vague and no one would suspect she meant anything about him? "And using magic to cook stuff and clean up messes would've been good, too." ALSO things he knew all about firsthand. Though she said it all so casually that no one would suspect a thing and it was like a little secret inside joke between them. And Tobes a little. Something... that would... hopefully make him smile? Remember the good times? Et cetera, et cetera?
Yes, Sophie, he saw Toby. They both had to know that he was being the TEACHER now. Not the friend. Not the fatherly-figure. Sigh.
Fuller couldn’t help but chuckle at her answer. ”How lovely.”

That was a very good question actually, which magic would she have liked to have used? Come to think of it there quite a few things she would have had liked to have used, if only she were allowed to that was. Ruby's quite right. Mordred's been using that potion for his pictures, and he'd seen him brew it a couple of summers ago. "Devomotion Potion, professor." he said with his hand raised.
They won't be brewing that today, because it's Charms class. However, he was curious as to how they can make a picture move without the potion. And here he thought there was only one way on how to do it.

Well OF COURSE he had lots to learn! It was the single most important reason why he was HERE of all places! Duuuuuhhhh! And he hoped that Charms would be an area where he could excel. Charms were handy for alllllll sorts of thing, so, BRING IT ON.

And with that being said and done, there wasn't much he could contribute to conversation, and he knew better than to embarrass himself with a response of 'magic'. That much was a given. What some of the others were saying made super good sense, though he didn't see what they had to do with charms per se... it was all... potions stuff.

At first when the Professor asked about moving pictures, Jasmine wasn't sure what he meant. Spending most of her life immersed in the muggle world, she immediately thought of videos. But this wasnt Muggle Studies. Of course Professor Fuller didn't mean that. He meant moving photos, wizard style.
Jasmine was a bit of a photography buff, but she had only done it the muggle way. Since some of her classmates had already answered the question, she decided to remain silent on this one. Then on second thought, she had an idea. Raising her hand, Jasmine asked a question. [B]"Professor, is there a charm that can make still pictures move?"[B]. This was Charms class after all.

That's what Hady was looking forward to. Learning everything she could here at Hogwarts. Different spells, charms, potions and so much more. She nodded her head at the Professor in agreement. Surely if this same question was asked next year she'd have a completely different answer.
She wasn't exactly sure of the answer to the Professor's next question but she could at least give it a try. "Is there a certain charm that's put onto the camera that make the photos move when developed?" Hady asked raising her hand into the air. It was more of a question then an answer really but she was trying.

That's right, Professor. For in case she got locked out. EXACTLY. Maddie smirked a little, cheeks slightly pink for reasons she refused to divulge with anyone, including her bests. SPEAKING of, Professor Fuller-his face really was lovely-he was being REALLY unfair to Kyroh. Because Maddie was PRETTY sure Toby the Hufflepuff and Sophie the Claw had BOTH been laughing and Kyroh CLEARLY hadn't meant any harm yet HE was the one getting all the stern looks. She was beginning to see who the Charms man's favorites were, yes? And while knowing he played favorites was beneficial because SHE was clearly favorite material, it made her feel bad for Kyroh because HELLO, unjust treatment. The boy looked SAD. Maddie didn't like sad Kyroh. Maddie wanted to get the house elves to bake sad Kyroh a CAKE but she couldn't right now because class with the pretty professor. She DID nudge him gently in the arm, though. Smiled faintly too. She had his BACK, yeah? And if HE was taking a vow of silence, SHE would too.

Chores were a pain, he got it. You would think having two other sisters would be helpful, and cut down on the work. It didn't though. It really didn't. More people just made more mess, and UGH CHORES. Anywho, the professor said that they were moving on to an activity that they would actually like. Was he sure about that? If he said so.
Old looking cameras were suddenly brought into play. AJ had no idea how they were able to move, but she thought it was bloody brilliant. Too bad she couldn't make her muggle ones move. Or could she? Considering this was a charms class, she would be willing to bet all of her chocolate frogs that it had to do with a charm. "I'm guessing you could just use a charm on it." Which one? She had no idea. El moveo? More importantly... "Do you have to use a special wizards camera? Or could you use any ol' camera and then just charm the picture after it's taken? Also, I have this really cool poster of a unicorn at home, and if my mum owls it to me, could you make it move?" That would be beyond awesome. It would pretty much make this professor her favorite professor. Who didn't want to be in that role?
Agatha was going to answer professor Fuller's question and even put her hand up. She knew that it was a potion that made photos move, but she had no idea what it was called since she never had to brew one of those. She didn't really took photos or painted portraits or anything, so why bother?
But then other student started saying Potions before she had a chance to, and even that annoying male prefect of theirs gave a proper name. Trying to be the teacher's pet, was he? Or maybe he was just showing off. Ugh, how annoying.
Rolling her eyes, Agatha lowered her hand without giving any answers. No point repeating what had been already said, and she didn't know any other information she could give and didn't want o make anything up. The Slytherin could take notes of what was being said, but she REFUSED to write down what Ethan Mordaunt had said. Connor was about to reply to his friend but class had begun and he wouldn't be one of those rude people who spoke when the Professor's did, nope. He was here to LEARN things, He would deal with this kid's hatred of him later..but whatever.
Hmm well there were plenty of times Connor could think of that he wanted to use magic, like having to get out of his bed to grab his remote or doing dishes, even at work it would make filing papers easier, really it was just laziness. But he thought of a good example.

It was annoying considering she couldn’t ask the three year old triplets or the five year old Felix to clean up after their mess because they just made it even worse and as she was the only one home at the time with both her parents at work it was left all down to her.

Eden listened to their answers. WOW. She felt dumb. She hadn't really answered the professor's question--OOPs.
CLASSIC teacher crush? Eden just appreciated when a man was CUTE. Yeah, LAYLA. She eyed her dormmate but..continued to pay attention. They would both get kicks under the table SOON. Merlin. Trying to do some LEARNING here.

............. ”Interesting.” Not a spell he had ever heard of. ”Let me know if you learn how to do that.” He’d be interested to watch.
”Yes, chores are a pain without magic. Only a couple more years now.” Right? Maybe more. He didn’t pay attention to his student’s ages.
There were quite a few similar answers. ”Boring indeed. Good answer.”
Did he really have that many chocolate frogs? ”Wow. Yeah....” That was a lot of chocolate frogs.
She was new, wasn’t she? He didn’t remember her from last term, but she definitely wasn’t a first year. ”That... always helps.” Whatever worked for her. Her being Ruby Banner. ”Err... nice to meet you too.” He wasn’t sure why that last name sounded familiar... Hm. It would come to him.
Oh, no? He didn’t want detention? ”Be careful of how you speak then,” he said warningly.
At least he answered the question. He got a nod.
Another invisible one. To play hide and go seek? Pff. ”Isn’t that a bit cheating?” HMMM???
Yes, Sophie, he saw Toby. They both had to know that he was being the TEACHER now. Not the friend. Not the fatherly-figure. Sigh.
Fuller couldn’t help but chuckle at her answer. ”How lovely.”
Fuller heard the next answer... from behind him.
”I thought I told you to go sit at your own desk. Five points from Gryffindor for not listening. And you’ll lose ten more if you don’t plant your rear end on YOUR chair in the next ten seconds.” HE WAS SRS. SRS FACE. He didn’t care about her silly Mistress of All Evil act. It was CHARMS class for crying out loud.
Well, she was adorable, wasn’t she? ”Let me know how it turns out.” He’d never seen anyone conjure sequins before.
Okay, he did laugh at that one. ”That’s a good one.” Poor kid.
Fuller nodded. ”That’s a good one. It does come in handy.” Not that he was rubbing it in his face or anything.
Fuller nodded at him too. ”Very good.” It came in handy, both of them.
..... ”Aren’t you a little young to be getting attacked..?” But okay, whatever.
Ah, yes. ”Cooling charms. Those are quite nice.”
A wombat? Fuller gave the student an impressed nod. ”I’d like to find out if you ever successfully do so.” Might be a spell to keep handy, eh?
Fuller always thought Lumos was such a minor spell to use that the Ministry didn’t even pick up on it. But he wasn’t going to suggest that to her.
Alohamora, a good easy spell. ”Good.”
Anything? First years were fun. ”You’ve got lots to learn, kid.”
Ah, yes, there was a good, solid Slytherin answer. ”Thank you for answering.” He wouldn’t say anything else though.
Another ‘everything’ answer. Fuller nodded. ”Well that’s good. You’ll learn.”
NONE? Wow. Well. ”You make a fair point, but I do think that will change very quickly while you are here at Hogwarts.” Merlin knew they needed magic to survive here.
”It is fun. Good.” Making things float around could be fun, he supposed.
Oh, good. That was a good answer. ”Apparition is one of the most useful things you will learn.” JUST saying. He approved. Floo was a pain.
”If only there were a charm to make babysitting easier, eh?” Too bad.
And another one for summoning charms. ”Yes, they always come in handy.” Especially when you were lazy.
Fuller was impressed that he could actually understand what this kid was saying this term. Not having a scarf in his face helped. ”Muffliato, yes. It always helps.” Always.
And one more for apparating. He nodded. ”You’re almost there.” Almost of age. Which was strange because Zahra was a psycho twelve year old, like... yesterday.
Alright, that was enough input. ”Good answers everyone. Without further ado, let us move on to our lesson. What I have planned today is a rather fun activity, one that I think you all will enjoy.” Hopefully. Usually when adults said that, it ended up being the opposite.
During his pause in speech, Fuller flicked his wand a wheeled out a cart with a GIANT pile of old cameras on it. ”Can anybody tell me how moving pictures are produced?” Hmmm? ”There are a few ways, so don’t be afraid to answer. You could be right.” Or you could NOT be, but he was trying to be encouraging.
Yep. Eden felt duuuumb. Oh well. She would try harder at the NEXT question, yeah? Another fun activity? Would it be as fun as repotting Bulby plants? -___- Eden somehow wouldn't be convinced it was fun until he actually explained what they would be doing because..HMPH.
OH! Muggle cameras! Really OLD ones! She perked up--if this was about muggly things, she'd be gr---oh. Nope. Of course, this wasn't MUGGLE studies. It wouldn't be about MUGGLE things, no. She didn't know the answer to this question at ALL.
She didn't want to answer. But. Yeah. She raised her hand timidly..."Don't you soak the pictures in a special...liquid...that makes them move?" She thought that was how..charmed liquid or something...but the details were hazy in her brain. She wasn't exactly...sure.
