As you step into the room, you find the walls covered in photos of varying sizes; some taller than the average student and others no bigger than an average desk frame. The subjects of the photos vary as well, each revealing another moment caught in time. The first thing you’ll notice about the photos is that they are all moving: children twirling, bouncing cruppies, partners dancing, the whole nine yards.
In the corner of the room is a black tent, not very wide and taking up no notable amount of space, but the inside has been charmed to fit every and anyone participating in the seminar today. The inside is dimly lit and contains two long sets of tables on which are little bottles of developing solution. Watch your step and don’t break anything once you’re allowed inside.
For now, the Instructor is standing by a small table toward the front of the room with a wide grin plastered on her face, a magical camera slung around her neck, and what looks like an ordinary box with the lid closed. You’re free to ask what’s inside and of course Ms. Courwell is free to choose whether or not she’ll respond.
The room itself is littered with bean bag chairs so feel free to come in and have a seat. The seminar will be starting soon.

Some of them. Okay, Gwen had manners and she was American. Maybe she shouldn't generalize with a whole nation.
She glanced around at all of the other students. Most seemed to be in groups now, so they would be moving on soon probably. "Do you think she wants us in groups to take pictures of each other?" she asked aloud. The question was mostly to herself, but she wouldn't mind if someone who knew what was going on answered it.

"Um." And cleared his throat. Tapped him on the shoulder. "Hi. Hi. Uh. Yeah sure. I'll be in a group with you." Maybe this boy could dispel the hippo in a tutu rumour once and for all!
Not long after he had called out for a partner, someone unfamiliar had come up to him and said that they would. The boy was very glad since it meant that he wouldn't be working alone. Oichi? Blinking, Alec looked down at the new, younger boy. Was he nervous? Did he know that he had nothing to be nervous about? He, Alec, was the awkwardest boy around, no doubt. Maybe. "Hey there!" he said, grinning at the boy. Could he ruffle the boy's hair? Could he? It looked very ruffle-able. "Thanks! And I'm Alec, by the way. Great to meet you guys." ... Oh. Wait. "So... should we all work together as a group of four or... pair off into two groups?"

"Western type..." That was an interesting idea. Ella did like horses though the thought of cowboy/cowgirl hats messing with her hair was a bit frightening. No matter, she'd give it a go if Bay wanted to. "Sounds brilliant!" Nodnod.
The eighteen year old glanced around the room at the photoshoot stations, trying to find a good one for their theme. "Hey, that station looks like it could be a good backdrop for a western theme. How about I go snag it and you can grab the costumes and camera?" Good plan?
Great, so their plan was ago. "That does look like it can work" he looked at the backdrop more clearly and yup it looked like it was going to work. "Sounds great" Bay moved is way through the other students to go grab a camera. He found one on a table and moved towards the costumes.
Putting the Camera around his neck he shuffled through the costumes, he found two hats and some shirts and two pairs of pants.. and awesome two pairs of boots. Hoping that these will fit both of them.
Making his way back to Ella he tried not to drop anything. "Ella, I found some clothes and I hope they fit" he said while laying them down next to her.

... Oh. Wait. "So... should we all work together as a group of four or... pair off into two groups?"
Wasn't Alec the name of the Head Boy? Gwen didn't have a problem with that, just, the Head Boy meant seventh year, and she was only eleven. So that would be really cool if she got to take some pictures with him. Not that he was a sort of celebrity, but basically he was the best student in the whole school, right?
Moving on. "Let's just stay in a group," she said quickly. Four was a lot better. Besides, it allowed for variety of pictures right? Focusing on interaction or whatever. "Oichi already went to get supplies."
Why was everyone in this group, including Gwen, just kind of waiting around for others to make decisions? "Shall we brainstorm ideas on what we want to do for our pictures?" or maybe they should wait. Maybe the instructor had specific instructions for them. Or maybe she just wanted them to be creative.

"Alright Dude" Oh hey he was the tree house guy that seemed to disappear. "What should we use for props?" He was still digging through the stuff not happy with anything he had found so far. Maybe the other boy would know what he wanted to use. He pulled out a red ball nose and stuck it on, "What about this?" He made a few faces with it.
"Oh we need to grab a camera too."
Caleb laughed. "Sure, that'll work," he said with a grin. That was a real muggle looking thing and Caleb wondered if he'd come from muggle parents. Hmm, what else could they use as a prop? He dug through his bag and pulled out a journal he'd been using to take notes in class with.
"Maybe I can be over here writing on this and kind of...side eyeing you, wondering what you're wearing," he suggested with a chuckle.

"Of course I will work with you!" As if she would say no to that. "This is going to be so much fun!" As long as Sander and Tessa did not waste time with looking at each other vacantly, they could get this done!
Tessa was still scribbling down notes when she heard the instructor say partners. Partners? Immediately, she looked around at the group she was sitting with, a smile on her face. Usually, that suggestion would make her uncomfortable. But not at this school.
"Was there any question?" she murmured to Sander with a grin. "Of course I'll be in the group!" She smiled as Lux agreed, putting her arm around the girl's shoulder. "We're going to be the best group! We'll have to brainstorm a name," she said to Lux. Then, she looked back at the instructor for further directions. This class had just gotten even more fun.

Lizzie was keeping an eye on the students as they sprang into action. No doubt they'd find their groups soon enough then she could make her rounds checking....but this would be after because there was a volunteer!!! Woot woot!! It didn't really bother her that it was the Hufflepuff that wouldn't stop with the food that volunteered, she just liked taking photos no matter of what subject and grinned at him.
"Brilliant! Come on over! We have costumes to see to, your hair needs musing, the whole works!" Could he tell she was excited because she WAS.

She would look fabulous on camera of course, but that was about it.
The woman did say that they could work with her and maybe that would be a better idea? "Can I work with you..err ma'am?" What was her name again? Oh... it really didn't matter anyways.
And another volunteer!! Eep!!
"Yes yes! Of course, come on!" Lizzie said, turning from the Hufflepuff to the Slytherin girl, her grin still in place. "Ms. Courwell will work dear but that's not important! What's important is getting you ready for the photoshoot!!" They didn't have any time to waste, there were others already getting into the groove of things and she wanted to get her shoot up and running as well.

"I volunteer!"as tribute."I'll work with you!"
The Hufflepuff bounced slightly on his toes as if that would make him more likely to get the okay and BEAMED.
The little enthusiastic one wanted to work with her too!!!!!!!!!! Lizzie nearly bounced with all the energy radiating off the small boy as he volunteered. "Brilliant! Step right up young man, we have a shoot to make magic with!" She said, grinning perhaps even wider.
While she waited for him she went rummaging through the box for the PERFECT props and costumes that would bring out his eyes and that brilliant smile of his. Suffice to say she might have been A BIT TOO EXCITED but that wasn't a problem. It took passion to get the right look in these photos. As much as it looked like nothing more than her snapping at random it was all carefully calculated stuff.

An actress huh? Lizzie could see it, legit she could with all the dramatics the girl put on. Merlin knew the girl had a persona that demanded attention in all forms. "Maybe I'll get a chance to get a few photos of you when you hit the red carpet." She covered stars occasionally. With the way the girl had been so far, the speed at which she got before her didn't surprize her one bit, neither did the fact that she was already striking poses.
Not being able to resist she snapped a quick photo then pointed to the box by the table. "Help yourself to anything you think you may need in there then we can get this thing started. Four for a shoot, should be interesting." And she got the odd idea the girl might try outshining everyone else present in their shoot...

Moving, huh? Well, Tobias had an answer for that. One he knew was right. He grinned and raised his hand, answering enthusiastically.
"Me!" And he wasn't just calling her attention, that was his answer. "Me. I can move. We can make me move." Didn't even need magic. Toby was doing it now, see? Wavewavewave.
Cutty glanced up to see Tempus doing this sort of flailing thing. Only it didn't look like flailing on his more strongly built bod. The Slytherin kept his thoughts to himself and sighed, trying to clear his mind.

And wasn't this one an interesting one as well? Lizzie smiled over at the little Slytherin. "I don't think I saw it that way before you said it just now. Good point. I like the way you think." As abstract as it happened to be.
The enthusiastic one!!!
Lizzie watched him continue to exude that air of enthusiasm even as he waved about. She chuckled at his response. Kid was endearing if nothing else. "Yes, yes we could." As illegal as it might end up being if they were still going off the basis of using magic to do so.
"Very good." And a snapshot of him.

A smiles investment? He did one back. Smiles for smiles if you were a complete stranger and totally knew stuff Cutty wanted to know. He was glad this one could follow his thinking and there was no condescending or dismissive wave.
Aaand, Cutty wanted that picture. How much, he wondered, would Miss Courwell be willing to accept for it. These were his second year memories here! Or that's what he would say when he got a moment to ask for the picture without attracting too much attention

While he was awaiting replies, he heard someone say his name. Turning he saw Sander. Er... "Sorry,'' the second year said. "Already got partners. Thanks though.''
And then there was Aditya. Building a hoard looking for a partner...a ton of partners. He watched as Adi turned down an offer and found it interesting. H'mm...was there such a thing as Hufflepuff elitism? For whatever reason, Cutty had made Adi's cut, if there was. Also, a larger group would allow for more observation as he had only had brief encounters with Rehman.

What they would be doing for the practical portion of the unofficial lesson. Not that talking moving pictures was a thought that didn't come naturally given the subject of the seminar and the set-up of the room.
When they were asked to get into groups, Ben wondered just who he could work with. Though he didn't have to wonder very long for Adi called his name getting his attention. "Sure...why not," he answered, not minding to be paired up with his friend. Nor the other two boys tentatively brought into the mix. One less thing he needed to be concerned about finding and it should be fun.
And then this guy was Benny. His name reminded Cutty of his best-mate who sort of just disappeared on him. And he NEEDED him! He needed his logical Ravenclaw brain to figure stuff out. So. Bad. ;___;
The thoughts had passed and Cutty reached out a hand to the Gryffindor boy, "Cutty Mordaunt, second year. And you?" Not shy at all, this one.
Portraits could be taught to behave like their subjects? Now THAT was wicked! Beverly was suddenly sitting up straight, her eyes glued on Ms. Courwell with interest. At some point in her life she'd believed her great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather Bacchus had died and his soul had magically been transported into a portrait. Of course, now that she was older she knew that wasn't likely.
But THIS. It was VALUABLE information, and she'd make sure to remember it.
Then Ms. Courwell was done talking about that and decided students should get into groups. Bev sunk back into her bean bag. Did that woman know how AWFUL she was at that? No. She wouldn't, BUT SHE WAS. Her anxiety kicked in, making her hands sweaty. Oh Merlin.
Yet, the third year stood, chin up. She was going to be brave. Yes. Brave. She inched forward. Paused. Tip toed around a bean bag. Paused. Then inch forward to where Ms. Courwell stood surrounded by students. Beverly's eyes gazed all around the room until they landed on the older woman.
"I-I volunteer." Y'know. If you want to. BUT THERE WERE SO MANY STUDENTS HERE.

Awesome he liked the nose, but what else could they use. As he dug through the stuff still he heard the boy say something and looked up. "That sounds like a great idea." Now they had to get the camera and go to one of those tents, right? He wished he would have been listening better instead of figuring out which bum movements he wanted to use when shaking it came into play.
Just at that moment something caught his eye. "Oh I'm so using this too." Pulling out the colorful wig and threw it on his head now he had the big hair and the red nose. This was the goofy perfect he was looking for. "Now I'm ready, what do you think?" Let Slytherin dude decide if it was fully approved or not.
"So now we just find a place to take the picture or well a tent, right?" Hopefully Caleb knew what they were doing, because he sure didn't.

AWESOME! Tobias beamed at the acceptance and looked around at his fellow volunteers. He only recognised Ian, a fellow Hufflepuff, but everyone got equally enthusiastic grins and waves. Today was a bouncy day, that's all. Lots of energy which was then BOOSTED by Ms. Courwell.
"Thanks!" For saying yes. You know. The third year stepped closer now that he'd been granted admittance to the group, and bounce-bounce-bounced on the balls of his feet, watching the photo lady go a'rummaging. Speaking of which we should all introduce ourselves again so as a group we'll know each others names. I'll start, my names Oichi Paulidine, I'm a Gryffindor 7th year. Now who would like to go next", Oichi said looking around at the now group of three. And then out of no where Gwen invited another person into the group. She quickly grabbed the camera, film, and clothes and went back to her group. "Okay guys, we have 4 now, I'm sure this shall be awesome fun but let's cap the group here.", Oichi said firmly trying to be as nice as she could.

He hoped someone was coming to help him because right now his three friends seemed a bit chatty. Adi wondered what kind of costumes were there. Maybe some really old fashioned stuff? Yeah. They were always fun and interesting.

Demelza beamed at the woman when she said that there was probably a good chance that she could be snapping her camera at her on the red carpet. "Maybe you could do my headshots for my acting résumé? I will need those in the very near future," she suggested to Ms. Courwell. You know, so she could send them in to directors and whatnot. From what she had learned at the Academy, having excellent, eye-popping headshots did help you get roles in the business. Alongside the terrific acting skills she had, of course. With that killer combination, she would surely wipe out all the competition.
Oooh! A box of props! Now that was something Demelza was very familiar with. Props were such a huge part in acting. As a plus, they were really fun to use. The instructor didn't need to tell her twice. Just moments after being directed to the box, she was already digging through it. There were so many options! What should she choose?
After rummaging through the box for a few minutes, she accumulated a pile of hats and jewelry and other little knick-knacks that she thought would look fantastic wearing. Demelza was already wearing some of the things she found. "Hey, you! You should totally put this on," she said to the Hufflepuff boy, handing over a suave fedora. "You would look great wearing this. Just don't cover your eyes with it. Eyes can piece the soul." Besides, you only needed to have your eyes covered to protect them from the sun or if you were spying on competition so they couldn't identify you. She looked over her shoulder at Ms. Courwell (yet another great photo opportunity) for approval.
"I'll also need volunteers to work with me? Those who don't end up in a group for whatever reason." Whether that be because they WANTED to work with HER instead or simply couldn't fit behind the camera. Lizzie wasn't picky, she wanted to participate too!! Then with a few waves and flicks of her wand she began conjuring up the basic necessities for a photoshoot, setting up little photoshoot stations around the large room each with it's own settings...to give them some variety. "Get to it!"
OOC: Photoshoot time guys, have your charries grouping up, getting what they need from the box and having a spree with the cameras in the box provided by Ms. Courwell. Have fun! We'll move into developing them in the tent later.
Yes! Shoot time. Ana was so prepared for this. Except not. She had no idea who she was going to be in a group with. Oh they were allowed to be paired with Lizzie herself? That sounded much better. She was a professional after all.
Practically throwing herself from the beanbag she'd been sitting on Ana bounced her way back to the instructor, turning her best smile on her. "Can I work with you too please?" because there were already other people there, including can only be shot from the left girl. Ana wondered if she could make a rule that photo's should only be taken of her from the right? It would be interesting if she could implement it.

With the whole group situation sorted, it was time for them to get a move on before they were totally left behind and everyone was moving on. "Great! I will go and get the stuff we need!"
Making her way over to the box the instructor indicated, and grabbed cameras for them all, before beginning to sort through all the different props and costumes. It was rather hard to figure out what to bring back, so in the end, Lux just grabbed a bunch of random stuff and hoped for the best. Hands full, she wandered back to her team.

Oops. Gwen was going to get in trouble for making eye contact with him. He ruffled her hair with a grin before standing up again. "Sorry... Oichi, is it? Mo Branxton." He offered a hand.
"I didn't mean to intrude. I can find another group. I think five is probably too many." Mo saluted his Hufflebear!Bro, Alec, before glancing once again around the room for someone not in a group. Cat. Perfect. Girlfriend was already the prime subject in most of Mo's photographs, and the camera loved her.

Schuyler stifled a grin when she caught sight of Olly sinking into that bean bag. It was kind of eating her up, butt first. hehe.
Anyway. They needed to split off into groups.
Excellent. That would make things more fun, yeah? And it'd also be easier to rotate roles. Photographer, model, and so forth. She supposed those were really the only two roles in this..
So Schuyler flashed a little grin and traipsed over to the box that held all the props and goodies. Hats, boas, fake swords, sheets, skulls, fruit (real?). You name it. These photographs could get pretty imaginative. It was just a matter of her group deciding.....
Wait. Oops. She didn't HAVE a group yet.
Schuyler straightened up a bit and sliced the air with the fake prop sword as she raised it. "Does anyone need a group? I don't have a group. Where is my group?" WHO would be her group?
There were lots of groups. And ungroupers yet to be grouped.

The prospect of volunteering for the Professor sounded interesting, but before she could even contemplate over whether she wanted to do that or ask people to work with her, Sander was asking her if she wanted to be on a team with him and a few others. "Of course I will work with you!" As if she would say no to that. "This is going to be so much fun!" As long as Sander and Tessa did not waste time with looking at each other vacantly, they could get this done!
Sander grinned when Lux was the first to agree. "That's awesome, Cucumber. I believe together we'll take the best pictures ever."...just as long she didn't ask him whether he had a crush on Tessa here in this seminar.
SPOILER!!: Tessa

"Was there any question?" she murmured to Sander with a grin. "Of course I'll be in the group!" She smiled as Lux agreed, putting her arm around the girl's shoulder. "We're going to be the best group! We'll have to brainstorm a name," she said to Lux. Then, she looked back at the instructor for further directions. This class had just gotten even more fun.
Sander's smile beamed from ear to ear. He leaned over and whispered back to her, "I never doubted it." before turning to look at Alex.

She was glad to be partnered with friends and was anxious to get started.
Sander clapped his hands with excitement. "Awesome, Alex. I guess we now finally have our group. I think Adi has formed his group over there, so it'll just be four of us." he informed everyone.
Then he remembered what Tessa had suggested to Lux. "Yes we should name our group. Any suggestions?" he asked, before turning to Lux. "Lux why don't you go grab the stuff you need. Be creative, Cucumber." he suggested to her.

Could the lady like... stop photographing her? Didn't they need forms for that or something? Illegal utilization of her face. Yep. Alice squinted, trying to resist the urge to cover her eyes from the flash and stick her tongue out at Ms. Courwell.
Wasn't like she cared about portraits anyway, but NO photos.

Normally, Alice would have been eager to work with the photographer lady instead and get some more detailed information than what everyone else was receiving, but Schuyler seemed like a curious enough partner, and she figured they could go and bother the boss later if needed.
"'Cept I don't really want to be in front of the camera." She'd do the picture snapping, though.

Dora sat beside her bean bag chair, okay? Beside it.
The seating was questionable. She had poked it, stared it down, and then put a hole in it before patching it back up. All of this happening while the instructor had spoken, and not a lick of instructions had sunk into her thoughts. Because distracting chair? No, she just didn't care, but she was here for reasons she supposed.
Oh, but that voice. It was familiar.
She looked up to see Schulyer and decided that yes she would join her in.... whatever. "Gryffindor with a sword." She said when finally by the girl's side. "Dangerous. Even if it is fake. I'll join your group." Because Dora's like danger. Even the fake kind.

Oh, hi reason.
"If you're in front of the camera, you get to be with me." Like that one time with Mo, remember? Except better cause no cold. Yes. Dora flashed her best a full grin. "Reason enough." Also, clue as to what they were doing.
Clues were good.

Now this one was a very interesting seminar. Cassia didn't know much about photography and she only cared about herself being ina photo. A good one of course. Else she'd have to burn the photo. And that reminded her of the 'selfie' that they was taken just before they came to hogwarts. Such thing excited the snake and she was all ears. All ears that she didn't get to speak.
Nice lady there, too. Seemed to know what she was doing.
And now time to get all ready for her picture. Oh, wait. She needed a group didn't she?
Squinting through the crowds, the sixth-year walked towards two Gryffindors and a Ravenclaw This group lacked a blond. She casually inserted herself inbetween. "We can take turns," She suggested. Yes, she was in this group.

Oh, no, he thought, no no no. Oichi quickly went after Mo and and tapped him on the shoulder, "I did not mean to make it seem like you are the extra we don't need. That's not the case at all. Mo, you are very much needed and welcome in the group. All I was saying is that 4 people is enough for our group, that's all. It's up to you if you want to be our 4th prized member of the group", Oichi said with as much sincerity as she could muster.

Also that group, the one with the pretty girls (including his girlfriend), lacked a boy. Or more specifically a West. They could do with a West. So this particular West the only one in the school went ahead and inserted himself amongst his friends.
"I'm not really about taking pictures, but I'll be a model." Sure. They could take snaps of him, he didn't mind. He mussed his hair with one hand and dropped down into one of the beanbags.
Which was a thing, because of being so tall, it was quite the drop. Huh. Getting up might be tough. He decided to just lounge there and make it look all deliberate.
