Professor R. French put the last tidying touches on his classroom, finishing off by writing a GR33TING to his class on the ancient chalk board. The room is ordinary in the sense that there are desks in rows and cobwebs in the corners. What might strike the N0RMAL Arithmancy student as peculiar is the cans of paint, cauldron of brewing potion, and long sheets of parchment waiting for the students in the front of the classroom.
The new Arithmancy PR0F3SS0R is awaiting his students with his fingers knitted together and resting on the bulge of his belly.
OOC: I don't care if you're "late". Keep posting arrivals for now. Keep posting numbers. Class hasn't STARTED started, we're only warming up . OOC: No more shouting numbers, K? We're ADDING the random #'s now. Add the #s. HAVE FUN WIH THAT LOL. But you may still arrive if you want. OPEN DOOR CLASS.

OOC: So... dip the beard in paint, dribble the beard on the parchment, COUNT YOUR DRIBBLES. I encourage you to go to PAINT and make your drawing. It isn't necessary, but hehe anyone can draw dribbles, right? hehe DIP, DRIBBLE, COUNT. Go 2 it, yes okay good thanks.
OOC: On the homestretch now! Once you've COUNTED your beard drippings, condense your number down (if necessary) [12 becomes 1+2 = 3. 3 is your number!], then get your READING from the CHART. Do what the chart tells you to do. Take this LESSON with you for LIFE. Yes okay well done very good okay.

Well that sure was an... unexpected and strange response. Adrienne tilted her head and gave the professor a weird look.
"Thank you, sir, for that piece of information. I will keep it in mind." In case she ever did need to know where the bathroom was. Which, as a matter of fact, she had both already known and didn't need right now. Indeed, quite suspicious. Something was up with this guy. He looked like an innocent old man, but clearly that was just a front.

Er, yeah. Not exactly what she'd meant by sitting in the back but okay. And random numbers? Okay. Completely glossing over the fact that it was going to be a long lesson for those who couldn't get past the professor being WRONG about history (thankfully he wasn't a History of Magic professor), Sky shouted out the first random number she could think of. Of course, there were some letters thrown in there for good measure. "R2-D2!"

Ugh. Arithmancy. Tora just found it all around dull. And boring. But she had to go, sometimes you had to do things that you didn't want to after all.
As it was, the prospect still put her in a foul mood. She didn't bother to properly say hello to the new Arithmancy professor but instead nodded in his direction before taking a seat. Even though she hated the class, she was grateful that Adrienne had reminded her to go. For some strange reason she seemed to have forgotten that she was even taking Arithmancy. Weird. She sighed as she pulled out her books and waited for class to begin.
"Right yes, okay. I believe it was 1616? Perhaps 1617. Anyone know? Anyway, yes, the position of HEAD GIRL was given to the female student that could behead a house elf with the cleanest cut. She would wear or carry the HEAD around her neck and was given status among her peers, hence the name Head Girl. Congratulations!"

Sarah had to contain her laughter, "I doubt that is how head girl about, as Head girl is also a post in Muggle schools in Britain. Also, no girl will ever kill unless she has to under self defense or unless that girl is terribly blood thirsty, which is not a natural trait of women." She tried to hold her laughter in, yet the reply that was given to Asher, "Asher is actually a Biblical name, one of Jacob's sons'. This was comical. "Professor, in the Library there is a book called Hogwarts A History and in it you will find otherwise. There are also several books that mention it - I suggest you check it out"
Sarah liked the puns though, yet then the last thing came.The first thing that came to mind was message which was 1..D..10..T, which Sarah converted to numbers using Pythagagrean Arithmancy ""79669194962" she called out. She wondered if West or other students understood what she was saying

Ariana raised her eyebrows and looked over at Odessa.. Then her Dorm Mate, Sky as she joined them.
she was confused.. adn she knew VERY very well it was Godric Gryffindor that founded hogwarts and how, HOW was this professor qualified to teach them if he knew nothing.
She too said nothing as she just crossed her arms and raised her eyebrows once again..
Laura looked at the Professor and the raised her hand and shouted out. "76888997" that was such a personal number to her since she needed to know it all the time, she had no idea why she had given the number to the Professor though.
Minerva walked into the Arithmancy classroom. It was going to be very weird being in this class without Professor Hadley taeching it. She had grown use to the same professor in the class, especially since it was a class she wasn't that great at. Looking around her eyes didn't seem to meet anyone else's. Still embarrassed from another lessons start. She decided to try to move past it though and just deal with what she was good at. Lessons.
Giving the professor a bigger smile Minerva walked over closer to him. "Hello Professor, welcome to Hogwarts. My name is Minerva Wheatborn." She then turned and found her comfort seat of the front. Pulling off her bag from her shoulder she set it on the ground and pulled out her parchment, book, and quill. Noticing some odd looks towards the professor Minerva turned her head to look at him. Had she missed something before she had entered? Or were these looks towards her. Putting her hand to her face, no the beard was fully gone, but they all knew it had happened. Slinking down in her chair she figured it best if she stayed quiet until class began.
"Hi, hello, all right there. Yes, have a seat, Minerava. Minerva Wheatborn. Too right, Wheaborn. Strong ties to the Vikings with a name like that."

Except for number 333. Because the three threes together looked cute. For some reason Derry wasn't entirely sure of.

Vesper was a little apprehensive about what they were doing...but this was so much different than anything she'd done in France. That alone earned a big smile...Well, big but small...at the same time. Meaning...no one needed to look at her. If she was going to be bad at this...the Ravenclaw didn't want others to see...and pick on her...or whatever.

Alec STARED at the Professor, trying to process the piece of information he had just been given. Ancient Atlantis Merperson King? He... wasn't exactly sure if any of his ancestors had an affinity for merpeople but he was definitely sure he wasn't named after one. Alec and Summers were both... not common but not exactly rare either. Right? Yeah?

And cue MORE confused looks as the man also talked about beheading house elves and someone who wasn't Godric Gryffindor being the founder of Gryffindor house. ... Sarah did not know Chinese yet she doubted that was the origin of the word Prefect. Its a pity she had to pay to get into the library as that would be next stop after class. For the entertainment of reviewing this lesson, she began to take minutes and notes on everything that was being said in class. "Professor, isn't Arithmancy a science? In Science, questioning and doubting is key to progress. If one is told to listen, to never doubt or question a subject then it is called PROPAGANDA or BRAINWASHING! All the students present in class are humans, with intellect of human" although the professor teaching seemed to have the intellect of a Troll "they are not Sheep. It is not healthy to blindly listen, in order to know, one must interact and ask questions". She should not confuse the class.. eh.. "Exactly, I am not confusing the class. Making up rubbish confuses them, yet stating facts is not called confusing them. I can prove to them what I am saying as it is in books, they are able to ask questions about what I said. That means that what I am saying is the truth. By the professor being defensive, shutting down queries it is proof that the Professor does not have truth on their side.". Why was West Odessa not speaking? About invisible numbers, usually things that are invisible exist yet are not hidden. Yet this professor's brain was not invisible.. it did not exist.

Laura looked at the Professor and raised her hands. "obi one Kenobi?" Laura shouted out, this was a pure guess and she had no idea who the person was she was talking about.
Józsua was sitting eyeing the board with a very unimpressed expression on his face. What was with the weird type-whatever speak? He got that it was Arithmancy and it was supposed to be a play on things, but it sort of annoyed him.
Still, grammar police aside.. the professor was a little odd he observed. Was this a culture thing? Professor R. French was certainly different from the professors at Beauxbatons.
Ironic considering the man's name.

Benzi was VERY confused.
Having strode into class while everyone was shouting out numbers, he hurriedly took his seat and set up his stuff. He wasn't LATE, okay?! According to his watch he was perfectly well in time. The professor was just being MEAN and started early.
Should he shout a number? Everyone else seemed to be doing it.
"Minus seventy!" he yelled out. Mummy had taught him that minuses exist. He hadn't really understood it at first, because how could you have nothing a few times over, or LESS than nothing, but he'd gone with it. Mummy was probably right anyways.

Err... so nice did indeed have four letters in it. FOUR. She got it. This professor seemed to be a weird one however she was not confused yet so that was a good thing right? RIGHT! She wasn't asked a question so she didn't feel the need to say anything about the man pointing out the amount of letters in a certain word.
She listened as the new professor went on about other random things regarding things that her peers have said. Before she knew it he was addressing the class. He wanted them to shout out random numbers? Hannah could do that. So far so good.
