Once the wings were finished, it was time to attach them. Silvia picked up the uncut bottle, and reached for one of the wings, then she realized she had a slight problem. With one hand holding the bottle and the other a wing, she didn't have a hand for her wand. Her hands were to small to hold both the bottle and wing steady in one hand. Well, it looked like she'd have to adjust the way she was planning on doing this. Although she felt that holding each steady would be the best way to accurately attach the wings, it was useless if she couldn't use her wand.

So the only way to get this done was to leave the bottle sitting on the desk. Silvia placed a few books behind it to make sure she did not knock the bottle over while she placed the wing. Then she lined the first wing up towards one end of the bottle. "Adhaero." She then checked to ensure that the wing was on straight and gave it a small tug, glad when it did not fall off. Okay, next wing. Silvia turned the bottle around to the opposite side. This time she had to be extra careful to make sure the next wing was lined up with the first wing. Once she felt it was, she attached the second wing with "Adhaero." She did the same for the last two wings and hoped that they too were perfectly aligned.

Now for the parachute, and then she would be almost finished. Taking one of her two pieces of dental floss, she tied the end around one of the handles of the plastic bag, tying several knots to make sure it wouldn't come loose. Then she took the second piece of floss and proceeded to knot it several times around the other handle. Picking up the untied ends, she held each against the bottom of the uncut bottle and glued them on with "Adhaero."

Finally, she placed the two bottles together. That was rather easy, the third year thought. Not as tricky or time-consuming to build as she might have expected. Now all that was left was to decorate it.

Taking the dental floss, she tied it to the plastic bag and then attached the string to the bottom of the uncut bottle. Hmm...she was doing a pretty good on this if she did say so herself--and she did say so. Then she placed the two bottles together, making sure she had everything lined up the right way.

...and with that, she was DONE!

Well, she still had to decorate it, but that was just a little something extra. She had a functioning bottle rocket now, or...what she hoped was functioning.

She should really add some color now. Slytherin colors, of course. She wasn't really one of those girly girls that liked a whole lot of pinks and purples. House colors it would be. She first used a coloring charm to add some straight, black lines across the rocket. Next, she added green and silver coloring to the inside of the lines. She decided not to really do much to the color of the cardboard wings, but she did decide to paint her name. She had to do this carefully of course, because it was a little more difficult than just adding color.

Finally, she was done. She stepped back and eyed her work.

Laura looked at her list, she was really concentration on getting this done, she didn't want too get into trouble for not doing what she was told, Laura was about to continue when she had a problem the severing charm which was that one oh yeah Diffindo, Laura took out her wand and pointed it at one of her bottles about 2/3 from the top. "Diffindo." Laura did the fansy incantation and make sure that she did everything it told her in this part of the instruction.

Decorating. Silvia wasn't the best at drawing, so fancy drawings was out of the question. She would just stick with something simple. Her name, or at least her initials, had to be on it somewhere. And perhaps the year too. So she took a small brush and wrote her initials and the year vertically. But it needed something else, otherwise it was still too plain.

Perhaps she should name it? But what was a good name for a rocket? Hmm... Astro-something? No. Comet 2078? Not original enough. She needed something more creative. She had it! She painted the name in blue letters on one side of the bottle rocket, and surrounded it with a few stars because, you know, she liked stars.


There! Finished. The decoration wasn't much, but she like it well enough. She did not care to paint the rocket all one color; that would take too much time, especially since she wasn't too familiar with color-changing charms just yet. Now, weren't they supposed to use some sort of fuel? Or were they going to be using magic to set these off (assuming they were going to shoot them off, that is)?

By the time that the studmuffin question game was over Dylan had finished his bottle of soda, and he was needed to go for a break badly. He was just waiting for the right time to ask the professor when the professor herself mentioned to them that they could go for a break, he saw her duplicate some bottles too but that would have to wait cause right now he needed to take a break real badly. So he rushed off and came back moments later feeling much better and ready to make these rockets! He couldn’t believe they were actually going to be making rockets! The professor said that they could use a spell called Scourgify or they could go wash the bottle in the sink, well since he had the chance to use a spell he thought why not much more fun than using the tap water.

So he opened the top of his bottle and took out his wand, he stuck his wand inside the bottle a little bit, unsure of what he was doing but he was going to do it anyways since he didn’t like asking for help too much. So wand in and the incantation “Scouuurgify!” nothing! Nothing happened well except that bubble that was forming in the bottom.. it probably doesn’t matter anyways...ok he would try again and this time get the incantation right! Scourgify.. scourgify he kept telling himself going over the incanation in his head. Finally he decided that he was finally ready to give it another go and this time he would be right and get this bottle cleaned up! Once again wand in and the incantation “Scourgify” he watched in amazement as his bottle was now cleaned up. “Yeah!!” he had successfully cast his first ever spell! Though he would have preferred if it wasn’t a cleaning spell but still it was a spell at least.

Next he went to go collect the rest of the items that they needed, the floss thing, cardboard, plastic bag and an extra bottle. Good thing they didn’t have to drink two bottles, he didn’t think he could fit another bottle of drink inside his bladder. He then looked at the instructions on the board, ok point 1 take a potty break.. done! Point 2 making sure there is no soda left in the bottle.. done! Point 3 using the severing charm to cut ONE of the bottles. Well there was only one cutting spell he knew, and that was when his dad used it to cut the wood when building his treehouse, so maybe thats the one that she was talking about. Well here goes his first try at it, right the top of his bottle.. done! Now to cut it up! He pointed his wand towards the bottle as he said the incantation in his head Diffffindo... Difffindo.. Diffindo!

Just then he heard the professor say the incanation and saw that she was showing a girl how to do it, he watched carefully and nodded. Yeah he could do that how hard could that be? He looked at his bottle and pointed the wand at it “Diffindo” he moved his wand towards him in a slashing move, but the spell had quite a bit of power to it and it cut the top of his bottle diagonally causing his top 1/3 bottle to be cut in the wrong direction. So he would have to go again this time making sure that he took off the other half, he pointed at the bottle again and made sure that he had a firm hold on his wand and that he was ready for the power of the spell. “Diffindo” he said moving his wand in a slashing move and finally the other half popped off as well. Well that was done now, he had one uncut bottle and one cut bottle what was next on the list? Checking the sliding motion of the bottles.

This would be the easiest part. With no need for magic Lex was actually looking forward to it.

After saying a quick good bye to Vivi she headed back to her table again and finished up with the floss and the bag and the like then came her favourite part--the decorating!

A bit of this...some of that...no magic involved at all.....and voila! A complete rocket! She placed the rocket on her table then got up and walk a little ways off so she could get a good look at it. That was the true test afterall. Once it looked good from afar then there was no need to worry about it.

Lex beamed at her accomplishment and just in time too because the Professor had given a little time warning; a warning that no longer applied to her. This made her quite happy and to think; she did it all by herself--er...she almost did it all by herself...yes...that sounded more accurate. One day she would be able to do her exercises by herself so she wouldn't let the fact that she needed help get to her too much.

Alexa walked back to her desk and inspected the rocket up close. Yup, it even looked nice up close. Now she had nothing but time on her hands until the Professor was ready to move on.

Sophie marked the steps she had just performed on the parchment before continuing with the rocket making.



After checking what was next, she dropped her quill next to the parchment and started working on the cardboard to make the wings. She looked at the bottles and pondered if she should make 3 or 4 wings... four sounded better, since it would be easier to make the rocket stand still on its own. She used her wands to cut the cardboard and spent around 5 minutes trying to make them the SAAAME size. Her perfectionist side got the best of her.

Ooohhh!! New spell!! That put another smile on Sophie's face. She had never used that one before! But well, it didn't sound so difficult. It was a spell to glue things, right? Stick things together and stuff. Cool! The third year was feeling quite excited now, totally forgetting about the Ella/Laura incident and everything that happened during summer. SPELLS!

"Adhaero." She said looking straight ahead, not holding her wand just yet. That sounded right. "Adhaero." Yay! Grabbing her wand, Sophie started sticking the wings to the uncut bottle. The first one was actually alright! The spell worked on the second try and Sophie bounced on her seat. Now she would have to pay more attention to the other wing thingies, because they had to be on the same height as the first one!

That took perfectionist Sophie another 10 minutes. Whenever one of the wings seemed higher or lower than the other, she would undo the spell, stick her tongue out, frown in concentration and try the spell again. The wings should be perfeeeect!

Phew! There! Sophie grinned at her half-rocket. She reckon she was doing a good job so far. And she was so into the creation of the rocket that she didn't really pay attention to her surroundings. The badger would only glance once in a while to Theo to check if he needed any more help.

Sophie put the rest of the cardboard on her desk, took the plastic bag and dental floss, placing both of them neatly next to the cardboard. She placed her hands on the edge of the desk and stared at the material in front of her for a few seconds. This crafting business was really fun! She checked off some more steps on the list before resuming.

:: Ganymede diligently followed the instructions. She seemed to be a bit of a natural at the simple spells and she finally reached her favorite part. Decorating!

She decided to go with painting a couple of swirlys with silver on a green base. So it as Slytherin colors and she thought it looks so awesome!
ROCKET

This was the coolest class yet! She wished she could make more! ::

So what was the next step on the list, ah yes checking that the bottles were able to slide freely off and on each other. He put the cut bottle over the bottom of the uncut one and tried to pull them apart but he couldn’t! Uh oh that was not good cause they were supposed to slide off of each other with ease, but this was not happening. So after some poking, prodding and twisting here and there, he managed to separate the bottles. He then tried again to see if this time the bottles would slide off of each other with ease, connecting them up again he tried to separate them but proved to be a little unsuccessful. So he tried one more time he connected them up, he knew that this time he should be able to slide them off of each other easily. So he did just that he tried to slide them off each other and managed to do that, he then put both bottles onto the table as he looked at the next step on the board.

Next he got working on the four wings that he had to make, he grabbed a hold of his cardboard. Using the severing spell Diffindo he cut up one wing out of the cardboard but it was not the right shape “Oh man! Its not the correct shape I gotta start again!” so he cut out another one making sure that it was the shape that he wanted it, once he was satisfied with this he got ready to cut the other three wings from the same piece of cardboard. Putting the wing on top of the cardboard piece and he cut around it to create a second wing the exact size, he did the same with the other two until he had four wings that were the exact size as instructed. Once he had that he checked what was next on the list to do.

He saw he had to connect the wings to the rocket that he had just built, he saw that there was an incantation that needed practicing before he actually would be able connect the wings to the rocket. So he began to practice the incantation Adhaero, Adhaero, Adhaero.. once he was sure that he had the incantation done he got a hold of one of the wings and put it onto the rocket as he pointed his wand at the edges “Adheiro!” suddenly there is a hole in the wing that he is trying to stick to the rocket “Oh man! Stupid spell!” so he then realises that he said it wrong even after he had practiced the incantation in his head he gets another piece of cardboard and puts it on the rocket“Adhaero” he had his first wing joined to the rocket just the way he wanted it. He then cut out one more wing to replace the one that had gotten a hole in it by using another wing as a template to cut out a new one, he then one by one stuck the other three wings to the rocket making sure that they were at the same height as instructed, afterall he did want his rocket to fly.

With the bullet-like contraption resting on its side, Vickers began working on attaching the wings. He picked up his wand again and uttered the slicing charm one one side of the wing cut out, forming a kind of flap before uttering "Adhaero", casting a sticking charm into the flap before pressing it against the lower part of the bottle. He repeated the steps on two other cardboard-wing cut outs, positioned them so that the wings form triangular points on the bottom of the bottle.

He turned the prototype around between his hands. Structurally it looks ok, but it was quite plain, so he took his wand and uttered a few color changing spells, and coated the rocket with a few basic colors here and there. Eh, he knew he wasnt much of an artist, so when he was done he set the rocket on its wings standing it up.

He looked at the next step on the list and saw that he was supposed to lay the remainder of his materials on his desk, and so he did just that laying them on his table as instructed. He then saw that he was supposed to tie some dental floss, whatever dental floss was, to the plastic bag which was making alot of noise. They were probably muggle items anyway, so he tied some dental floss to both the handles making sure that it was securely tied. Good thing he checked it cause it was not tied properly and the dental floss came loose and came off the plastic bag, “Stupid dental floss thingy” he mumbled as he began to tie the dental floss to the plastic bag again making sure that it was tight now and that it would not come off like it had just done.

Next step was to attach the string and and plastic bag to the bottom of the uncut bottle, so he put the string onto the side of the bottle and pointed his wand at the string and was about to say the spell when the string fell out of place. He mumbled something before he put the string back where it was supposed to be attached, this time the string stayed and he managed to stick the string to the rocket with Adhaero. He then stuck the other bits of string to the rocket, but like the first time there was alot of difficulty in trying to get the string to stay but he was not one to ask for help and in the end managed to attach all strings to the rocket. So he was nearly there now he could see that his rocket had taken shape now.

Now he had to attach the parachute half of the bottle was at the bottom and placed the cut bottle on top of the uncut bottle as instructed. Now he didn’t know any decorating spells so he just left it as it was, but he did know a sticking spell. So he cut up some more dental floss and started making little circle windows as he stuck the dental floss to the rocket to make it look like windows, since he was still mastering the sticking spell he even had difficulty here. He managed to burn some dental floss saying the wrong incantation so he just picked up some more and made a new window. He then went and got some of the decorating stuff that he had heard the professor mention, he made a couple of comets on the rocket as well as putting its name on the side. There he was done, that was his rocket with its name, comets and the parachute plastic bag. Not to forget the cardboard wings that had to be the same size.. all of them.

Look? Look where? Kurumi decided that the girl probably meant that she should look a bit more at the bottle to make sure that it was really hers - which she knew it was so the whole 'look' comment seemed a bit redundant. Oh well.

Don't have to argue? Well, that was because the Ravenclaw knew she would lose the argument because it was Kurumi's bottle. If there was one thing Kurumi had learned these past terms about Ravenclaw girls, it was that they HATED losing in an argument. Must be taking the whole wit beyond measure a little too seriously or something. So Kurumi would humor the girl and take....the smudge covered bottle top. Erm....

Waving her wand over it, Kurumi cast Scourgify to clean off the smudge marks and then returned her gaze to the girl. "Oh....you should really get that checked by the Healer!" Kurumi squeaked. Yes, Kurumi was entirely missing the point but it happened. She was book smart and still somewhat socially awkward.

But she still had work to finish...so bottle in hand she returned to her seat and colored it purple to match the rest of her rocket.

Kurumi's eyes widened. "Oh, um...oh...I'm sorry Aidan..." she murmured. "I thought you meant...well....yeah..." But that didn't seem to be too much of a problem as he set to work to cut out the rest of his wings.

And showed that he was a true Ravenclaw right there with the whole accordion folding technique.

Mild flailing ensued soon after when he whined her name and Kurumi did all but resist the urge to rub her temples. "Just...give it another go," she said encouragingly. "You don't have to shout the spell to make it work either. Magic comes more from, um, inside. Intent, visualizing, focus."

This will become your rocket's parachute

Gideon looked back and forth between the half-complete rocket, bag and floss as it sunk in after reading that step of the instructions. Right....open bag catches the air and inflating as it falls thus slowing descent. So doing as directed, he tied the floss to both of the handles of the plastic bag before bringing the other end to the bottom of the bottle or the neck in this case seeing as it was upside down. Tying the floss to the bottle as well.

Now where had the cut bottle gone?

The prefect looked around, finally spotting where it had rolled onto the floor. Gideon picked it up and added it to the "bottom' of the complete bottle. His bottle rocket was complete except for some decorations Those he had no clue about but figured he probably should do something....at the very least to identify it as his own during whatever lay ahead for them. So getting up to head back to the bog, he looked inside for stuff to work with seeing as he was pretty sure carving would not work on plastic and any color charms he knew worked on large patches not detail.

Luckly, he found what he was looking for and went back to his work area to create some design for his...rocket. Before long, Gideon was as satisfied as he was gonna be with his creativity. A stripe here...a starburst/comet there...and voila. Finished rocket.

Harvey had drunk his whole bottle of soda, though he didn’t feel the need to take a ‘potty break’ he figured that he should have all that soda that he had just drunk on the instructions of the professor. He then returned to his desk and started on the task of making his rocket, he saw that they had to make sure that they cleaned the bottle making sure there was no soda inside. He knew the spell for this as the professor pointed out it was Scourgify one spell that he had used many times, he opened the top of his bottle and stuck his wand inside “Scourgify” the benefits of being a returning student you knew the spells that needed to be used. So now his bottle was clean he went to go and collect the rest of the materials that he needed to complete the build of his rocket. He collected the dental floss, the plastic bag, the extra bottle and the cardboard that he would need.

Once he had all his materials he started on choosing which bottle to cut up, once he had done that he ytproceeded with the cutting of the bottle. “Diffindo!” he said as he cut the top of one of the bottles on the side of the top. He saw that he now had to make sure that the bottles slided off each other easily, he joined them up and saw that they did not slide off each other as easily as he would want them to. So he decided to cut off a little more of the bottle so that if fit just right and was easy to slide off, once he had made sure that it was possible to slide them off of each other he went onto the next task which was to make the wings. Again he used the severing spell to cut up the cardboard that they were to use for the wings “Diffindo!”, after he carefully cut one wing out and made sure he was happy with it. He cut out the other three just as carefully making sure that they were all the same size. So now he had a somewhat completed rocket in two halves and he also had four wings that were to be stuck to the rocket.

The redhead drew her attention back to her rocket. If she spent any more time gawking at the looney people in this classroom, her eyes would have popped out of her sockets. Although, she was a little considered for the mental health of the people in this classroom. She wasn't sure yet if that concern reached over to Burbage or not. Yet, the more time that she was spending with the woman, the more she was starting to think that perhaps it did reach over to her as well.

Finishing up her rocket, she took the dental floss and tied it to the plastic bag. As soon as that was settled she then attached the string to the bottom of the uncut bottle. It was officially finished. Now all she had to do was decorate the blasted thing. As much as Selina liked to draw and paint and such, she was not sure that she was in the mindset to pull a Van Gogh today.

And then... inspiration struck. She started to use all of the supplies at hand to make the rocket represent EXACTLY what the redhead wanted it to look like. First, she used some magic to transfigure the bottle into a nice glittery background. When she moved the bottle it looked like the rocket was flashing... like a warning sign to get someone's attention. THEN she used a coloring charm to slowly and carefully draw a very delicate picture. It ended up taking her much longer than she would have liked, but the likeness had to be exact. Finally, she put some text on the rocket so it could finish off exactly what she wanted.

Once everything was done, she leaned back and took in her rocket. Perfect.

West considered blaming someone but he honestly couldn't think of anyone he disliked enough to get in trouble. It was a shame really, a wasted opportunity. Le Sigh.

"I don't know, professor. Someone behind me I guess."

He checked the mended hole, and then went back to his work. Instead of waiting for his sister to help him however, West dug into his bag and got a book out himself, and flicked through the pages until he found.... Adhaero.

He read over the instructions for the spell a few times and then when he was sure he had it on lock, he put the book aside and picked up his first wing.

"Aaaadhaaaaaeeeeroooooo." He said, tracing the edge of the wing. He then pressed it against the side of the whole bottle where it belonged and then gave the bottle an experimental shake.

... O_O It worked!

He picked up the next wing and did the same. "AAaaaaaadhaaaaaaaeeeeroooo." Yes? Oh. Not quite. West did it again, lining his wand up with the edge that would go on the bottle. "Aaaaadhaaaaaero." And he stuck that one on TOO.

One more. "Adhaaaaaaero." Yesssssssss. West lined it up so all three wings were the perfect distance apart and then gave the bottle another shake. They didn't fall off. This was successss.


And now to attach the parachute. Obviously by now he was a total pro at this adhaero business. West went ahead and stuck the ends of the floss onto the bottle.

Now he put the bottom on the top with the parachute squished inside and examined the effect. Done! All he needed was to decorate!

At first, this parachute thing was not very clear to Sophie. But once she read the instructions again she was able to picture the thing in her head.

And it sounded simple enough!

So she picked up the floss and took the plastic bag, tying the strings to the handles. She held the 'parachute' up by the strings and stared at it for a few seconds. Heh! The thing could work well as a parachute, couldn't it? Sophie moved the strings around and smiled as the bag filled with air. She kept moving the 'parachute' - she had really liked this thing! - around for a bit before moving on to the next step.

She attached the cool parachute to the bottom of the uncut bottle aaanddd... she got the other bottle and placed it on top of the uncut bottle.



Sophie checked off some other steps and read what the last one was. Ooooooo yay! Her favourite part!! Could she use spells, could sheee??? She wanted her rocket to be pretty and colourful. Not just one colour, nope.

So after a few Multicorfors, Sophie actually decided to not keep aaallllll of those colours. Sometimes... less was more, right? Besides, even though she was having fun in this class, her mood was not colourful, so neither would her rocket be.

Once she was done, she leaned back a bit to take a better look at it. Yep, that was good enough.

Now it was time to stick the wings to the rocket, now he had never tried this spell before but there was always something new to learn in the lessons cause thats what classes were for to learn new spells and things. So he tried the incantation in his head as he had done many times before whenever he had to practice spells for class. A-dh-aero.. A-dh-aero.. A-dh-aero.. A-dh-aero.. ok it seemed that he had the incantation right and now he actually had to perform the spell and stick the wings to his rocket. He held one of the wings to the rocket as he cast the sticking spell “Adhaero” he tested it to make sure that the wing had been stuck properly and he found that it had been so he was able to go on and stick the next three wings. He made sure that they were all at the same height as instructed by the professor, looking at the next task on the list he saw that they had to make a parachute. He firstly put all the items laid out on the table as instructed, wouldn’t want to miss out on a point in the task

So he tied the dental floss to the plastic bag securely so that when the parachute was activated that it would work, he gave it a quick tug to make sure that it was secure and that it would not detach from the rocket in mid-air. He then tied these strings to the bottom of his uncut bottle so that it would have a nice secure parachute when his rocket would come back down to earth, he then placed the bottom part of the cut bottle on top of the uncut bottle making sure that his parachute was at the bottom of his rocket. Now it was time to decorate his rocket, he had heard the professor say that there were some items behind her desk. So he went over to have a look and began to choose the items that he would need to decorate his rocket though he had no idea what sort of design he was going to do. So he went back with some items and started decorating his rocket and designed it as he went along not knowing what he was really doing, but hoping that it would be a good design anyways.

West had managed to round out the top/bottom of his rocket, but now he was contemplating decoration. He held the rocket up as if for inspiration and eyed it. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

After a few minutes of this, the twelve year old decided that he would leave it as it was, rather than weight it down with unnecessary stuffs.

So, his rocket was DONE. All it needed was waterrrrrrr.

*Cardigan ran her finger along the wing cuts, making sure the cuts were smooth and equal. Yep! They were great. When they were lined up, they were equal enough in length. Now she just had to stick them onto the rocket. Lining up the first wing onto the rocket, she Adheroed it, and did the same for all the others, making sure they were straight. Good, good. Pushing her cardboard scraps to the side of her desk, *she lined up the remaining supplies for her rocket.*

*Next on her list was to tie the dental floss to the plastic bag's handles, and attach it to the bottom of the bottom of the uncut bottle. Grasping the plastic bag by it's handles, Cardigan strung the floss through the hole, making a tight knot with it. She tugged on the string lightly, so as to make sure it would hold up nicely and not tear up. That would be bad when it was launched. It would have a rocky landing, and most likely break. That would be very disappointing!*

*And now, for the last and final step, pretty much, on her parchment: slip the cut off part of the first bottle onto the other bottle. She set the uncut one in the center of her desk, sliding the cut part over it. Success! Cardigan had completed all the hard parts! Now, it was time to decorate. You might've already guessed by now, but she was going to decorate her rocket like a...wait for it...Bird!! It wasn't going to be super complex, but it didn't matter. Going up from the wings, she drew the outline of the bird first, with the beak and all that. Then, she went back and etched in the eyes, feathers, feet, and all the little minor details, until it was stunning! The cool part about it was that it would almost replicate a bird taking flight when it was launched. That's what she aimed for!

Dora's feet had picked up a rhythm. An old tune her grandmother liked to sing every now and again when she was in a good mood. All her soda was gone too. Eyes intent on the prefect, she watched as she cast the spell.

"Yeah, I do."

Right after Aidan.



"Useless." He so was. Unless they needed candy, but supplies? No good.

She watched him cast the spell and noted what NOT to do when casting... why was he shouting? Her look displayed what she was thinking, even if the words never came but then she was still tapping and bouncing and now it was her turn!

Running the length of the wood across her right palm, she aimed it for the inside of her new favorite bottle, the empty orange soda one. Then she took a loooooooooooong pause to concentrate.

Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaause.

More paaaaaaaaause.

"Scourgify."

The bottle was clean in almost an instant, except for that one spot in the far corner. Dora cast again and then the bottle was all clean. She looked up at the prefect a bit pleased with herself. "Thanks, that was easy!" Tap tap.

Now for the next step.

Isabel was in serious concentration mode as she attempted to use the sering charm for the seventh time.a huge smile came on her face as she finally succeded. daintly cutting out the her wings isabel takes up her wand once more Adhaero the smile quickly left her face as she realized it didnt work Adhaero...adhaero...ADHAERO!!!!!!! UGH!!!!! isabel through her wand on the floor in frustration it wasnt working!!!! about to kick it away she takes in a deep breath,she wouldnt give up bending down and taking it up she tries again putting all her focus on her work Adhaero...Adhaero atlast!!! she did it!!

Seeing that she was done making her rocket. Alyssa followed Professor Burbage's next instructions and that was to clean up their desks.

Picking up the remaining dental floss, scraps of cardboard and the other unwanted part of the soda bottle, Alyssa carried them over to the waste basket and dropped the scraps of cardboard and the cut bottle inside, before returning the dental floss container back to its original place.

Returning to her desk, she took out her wand and waving over her desk, said "Scourgify" making sure that the desk was clean as it was before she used it. Holstering her wand, she sat down in her seat holding her bottle rocket and waited for further instructions.

Cora wasn't quite paying as much attention as she should have been to the task at hand. This class had her thinking about stars and things, which never ceased to amaze Cora. Her mind wandered to the beauty of stars, and then was snapped back to attention. Shocked at her "misbehavior", Cora focused, extra hard now.

This task truly excited her. Like a craft. It seemed difficult, but she had clear instructions, and was therefore more confident than usual. She carefully cut one of her bottles 2/3 of the way from the top. Next she moved on to the wings, which she made into delicate shapes not unlike bird wings. Cora kept them practical, but with a girly whimsical look.

To stick the wings to the bottle was the easy part, since Cora had just had to use Adhaero when she accidentally broke her favorite picture frame at home. She loved carefully measuring things, and did this tedious task with painstaking care. Anyone else would probably be frustrated with her at this point, but Cora was nothing if not thorough.

Next was the dental floss. Cora didn't quite know how to use this, and struggled with getting it to tie. Sighing, she paused to reassess the situation.

"Lovely work darlings, simply lovely," Professor Burbage praised as she walked around the room and looked at everyone's work. There were bottle rockets in house colors, ones that sparkled, ones that were hoping to help find a missing bat (poor dear), and then there was her junior studmuffin that had put her face on it. SIIIIIIIIIIIMPLY charming.

She looked at her watch and then at the progress of all her students and decided that it was about time to move things along.

Clapping her hands loudly to get everyone's attention, Marion made he way back to the front of the room holding her marigold colored bottle rocket under her arm. "DARLINGS! If you could please clean up your spaces now and set your rockets to the side for the time being, please. There is one more important matter we need to discuss before we move outside."

Suuuuuuuuuuurely they did not think that they were going to launch these inside, right? Silly little children. Ho ho ho ho!

"Now, if you could all please look at the board or refer to your notes on Newton's laws of motion," she said as she tapped her wand against the board.
"Without understanding these laws, mankind would have neeeeeeever been able to launch aaaaaaanything into space. Not satellites. Not monkies. Not humans. And ceeeeeertainly not rockets, which is why we are studying them. It is because of our understanding of these that all that was made possible and the field of astronomy was able to rise to new heights." She picked up her bottle rocket and held it up for the class to see. "Your rockets will be using water as its 'fuel' source. Meaning that water shall be the propellant that comes out of the nozzle here and shooooooots it up into the air when we pump air into it. In order to accomplish this, you will need to produce enough thrust. This muuuuuuuuust be greater than the weight of your rocket. For example, say this rocket here weighs 10 pounds," which it didn't, but that was not the point. "An upwards thrust of 10 pounds would keep your rocket stationary and at a constant level. 12 pounds of it wouldn't launch your rocket very high, but the trust would be greated than the weight of this rocket so it wooooooould move."

She paused for a moment tapped her bottle with her wand, filling it about 1/3 of the way with water. "Some of you may wonder why we cannot just use air to launch our rockets. The answer is rather simple darlings. Water is almost 800 times more dense than air. So, when your bottle rockets expel water, they will be expelling total mass and this increased mass results in increased rocket performance!" She paused for a moment so that students could write down any notes they wish. "Noooooow, some of you may be thinking, BUT PROFESSOR!? WHY DIDN'T YOU FILL YOUR ROCKET ALL THE WAY WITH WATER?! Tooooooo much water will cause your bottle rocket to be toooooo heavy and therefore hinder its flight. Too much of a good thing can be bad darlings."

But she was somewhat getting ahead of herself here. Oops. "Please keep all this in mind as you think over the following statements please, darlings." And she gave her wand a flick towards the board again.

She then turned to face the class, her smile as wiiiiiiiiiiiiide as can be. "Please select ONE of these statements and think about which of Newton's laws of motion best fits the statement. You may discuss among your classmates or siiiiiiiiiiiimply think on your own. You may share your thoughts whenever you are ready. We will just discuss this for a feeeeeeeeeew minutes and then head outside."

Alright. Off you go now all you future rocket scientists!
