The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.
More delicious cakes, yes! She tried her best puppydog slash persuading face. "Adarian may I pleeaase have another teensy bit of a cauldron cake?" That oughta work, right?
Ah, Pegasus, she stuck out her finger a little to the east of where she was looking. "I like him too. Mines Aquila, which is over there in the south sky." Stars man, how cool. "Oh man do I ever! Aries is the independent an courageous type, I'm a Capricorn." She could probably fill up dinner with talk of stars but that would get really boring really fast.
He pulled out one wrappdd cake and dug in his robes and found a packet of bertie botts beans and some licorish wands. He put the lot on he table between them. "Here ya are, pick whatever you'd like. Good luck with the bean flavors." He smiled. He is a little courageous, he did stand in front of all those people and introduce himself. "Isn't Aquila the eagle? Om Capricorn, the earthy introvert sign. That's cool. I like to see if people's signs match them."
“If he’s jealous then somehow he doesn’t trust you.” Trust issues. That was always the problem in any relationship. Mordred had a grim look on his face as he remembered how his cousins left him to be bullied and hurt back in Durmstrang. He thought he could trust them because they were blood related. He thought they were his brothers. Mordred let out a sigh and shook his head.
So who is Kennedy trying to impress? He was sure that he didn’t do it for Aurora, because clearly that’s not the Kennedy she fell for. Something was definitely amiss. “Do you want me to talk to Kennedy?” he offered. It will be a bit risky since he just met the Prefect a few minutes ago, and there he was meddling with their problem.
"Ugh." he sighed and let his forehead land on his plate. "That's insane." he managed to reply as he tried to fight the head ache he was having.
See! Trust. She wasn't the only one who thought so. "I don't know what to do about it..." she said, sighing and picking the remnants of her nail polish off. She'd painted them in the San Diego colours for the Quidditch match... Even though she would usually have been supporting Paris... It seemed weird to have Kennedy's team's colours in her hands right now...
Talk to him..?! "No! I mean... I guess I'll do it..." Because otherwise it could just make things worse... And Aurora wasn't sure how long things could go on getting worse for before... Well... Yeah.
Insane... "Yep." she said flatly. "it's all wrong."
Eliza giggled, and suddenly realised how hungry she was. She felt her hands reaching for the chicken, and potatoes, sausages, peas, ribs, and all other things imaginable. The food was amazing. "Man am I hungry!" she exclaimed. Food at home wasn't anything special, it made Hogwarts look like a michelin star restarant.
Dessert was gonna be awesome, so she made sure not to fill her plate too full. She grabbed her cutlery and wolfed down her food like sh hadn't been fed. She filled a goblet with pumpkin juice and raised it in the air proudly "To third-years!"
"Me too, I didn't even eat on the train" she said. The blonde took a cauldron cake and ate that first. She always ate at least one dessert first, it was just some kind of habit. Then she filled her plate with chicken, potatoes, duck, and fruit. This was going to taste so good.
The blonde filled her goblet with butterbeer and raised it along with her new friend. "To awesome Slytherin third years, and hopefully Slytherin winning the house cup this term" she added smiling. Had to be positive right? Even though they were in dead last place last term. As the blonde ate her food she turned to Eliza "So, are you trying out for quidditch?" she asked.

She smiled. "Aquila the eagle who carried Zeus' thunderbolts, yep!" Though, her sign wasn't really much like her. She was a bit introverted and yes she was practical, but she didn't think she was as stony as they made out to be. "Not really, some Capricorns are downright cold. I think im one of the warmer variety..." Oh Merlin's pants that sounded dumb.

As of that moment, he doesn't care about the housepoints or winning the house cup. All that mattered to him was that he was back in Hogwarts. Safe and sound.

Bellamy eyed the pen with dull dark eyes before looking up at its owner. Red hair, green eyes - or wait, were they turning brown? He stared at them with unapologetic scrutiny. Yes, they were definitely fluctuating. How very odd. They reminded him of the bag of enchanted eye-gummi he purchased earlier that day. Not that he wanted to eat this girl's eyes, that would be very inappropriate. But they would be nice on a display somewhere, wouldn't they?
He took the offered pen quietly. There'd be no 'thank you' from him until the thing had proved its worth. He was a Slytherin now, after all.
He fiddled again amongst his robes and found a scrunched up receipt. It lacked the bohemian-finesse of a napkin, but it would do. With a click of the pen, he wrote in loopy cursive: Note - restore integrity of house. Mine truly, Me. Lovely. The pen worked well and so he returned it gratefully. Well, as gratefully as one with the emotional depth of a drained kiddie pool could appear. "Thank you. You may have just helped initiate something quite remarkable. Time will tell."

Not bad at all. "Some are good flavors like cherry, strawberry, cotton candy. Then some are like earwax, vomit, and rotten egg. Be careful." He suggested. Adarian smiled at her, she was kinda cute. "Not dumb, I'm having fun talking about this stuff. Hope I'm not boring you. I dont know alot of people in England yet." Man she probably thought he was some American country bumpkin. "I know some about Zeus. I like to learn about ancient mythologies."
Kennedy chuckled. Maybe little kids weren't as annoying as he thought, and maybe he was just traumatized by one specific child. Yeah.
He looked over at the kid and raised a playful brow. "Why would I tell you my secrets to success?" Although, really, there were no secrets. It was really just the norm of studying hard, pay attention in class and stuff like that. "Just kidding, kid. First off, and the most important rule for classes is to NEVER be late. You lose points and make your housemates give you nasty looks," he said. Yes, Kennedy disliked it so MUCH when even one point was lost.
Kennedy laughed and shrugged. What? He did want to grow taller so he could tower over everyone. But, then again he wouldn't want to be a massive giant either. Hehe.
Oh, twins. How cool was that?!
"Wow, congrats on the two new siblings," he said. Now that made him wish his mother had tried for at least twins, but no, she settled for only Kennedy. Well, that had upside to it since he was the only focus in her world.
"It was an American team against a French one," he said, still grinning. It had been awesome. Though he couldn't compare it to the Quidditch games hosted at Hogwarts. Those were only better because you had your housemates cheering along side you.
Kennedy's head turned to the boy who had spoken with one of the best lines he's heard this night, well, except from Kimalia's 'cause her's was cool too. He nodded at him with slight smile on his lips. "Hey, nice line there," he complimented. Kennedy then extended his hand out to him. "I'm Kennedy Escalante." Okay, he managed to get an introduction out there before he forgot. This was good.
At the corner of his eye, Kennedy made out a figure that was, indeed, Aurora. The face she had on almost made him cringe and take a step back. She angry. Like, really angry. Fortunately, she didn't seem to want to continue their little...talk that had been interrupted once the train stopped.
He caught her staring at her and in that small moment he sent her a tiny grin just to let her know he knew she was there. It'd be rude if he just ignored her. But, he couldn't quite talk to her right now.
His head turned at Selena's usual 'HAI'. How he grew accustomed to it? He didn't know, but it did manage to make him smile. She then introduced them by name, which he had forgotten, and when she was done he waved at her.
Oh, yeah.
He hadn't gotten a change to talk to her on the train because of the chaos in the prefects' compartment. He still couldn't believe. Fourteen school leaders couldn't handle a chocolate frog and a gang of cats.
"Hey, Selena!" he said, grinning. "Congrats on Head Girl." And she deserved it.
"Boring, really? Nothing even a bit exciting?" he asked. There had to be something fun she did over the summer. Even if it was climbing a tree. Hmm, Kennedy had to put that on his to-do list.
"Mine...was interesting," he said. It had been incredibly interesting in such a bad that he didn't even want to remember it. "I went to a Quidditch game." That had been the only fun thing he'd done over the summer.
Kennedy grinned a shook his head slightly as his cheeks colored red. "Nah, I just wanted to get everyone awake and excited." He looked around and it seemed it had worked. Kids were talking and making allies friends and...yeah.
The prefect froze momentarily, just his hands twirling the almost empty goblet. "Um, she just came in," he said, motioning with his head in Aurora's direction where she had sat.
His gaze was cut off from the captain when a...cauldron cake flew by?
Kennedy's eyes quickly looked to where it had come from and he frowned. The girl that stood there looked all innocent, but then she was the only one in that spot. Don't tell him it was the Bloody Baron who'd thrown that cauldron cake.
Pffft, like he'd believe that.
And then....
It hit one of his snakes.
Oh no, no, no, no! No throwing stuff. Kicking the term off with negative points would be embarrassing.
Kennedy stood up and addressed the Ravenclaw girl. "Hey! Why'd you do that for?" Yes, questioning first and then...then whatever followed. She was small, so he guessed her to be a first year, still, that was no excuse to throw cauldron cakes at the Slytherins.
"That's good. You LOOK like an Ari." Yeah! She did. It suited her so far. West beamed. "How old are you? What year are you in? What is your favourite class? Which professors are the coolest? Which are horrible and easiest to bribe?"
Important questions, all.
Ariana was schocked at all the boys questions "well Im 12, i'll be turning 13 here in a few weeks, Im a 3rd year, my favorite class is D.A.D.A. i'd have to say Muggle studies has the coolest teacher, and lafay is the worst. though i was able to slip her a potion last year and make her go crazyyyy!!" Ariana Said answering all the boys questions, Curious little bugger he was.

He got a job at the ministry and I got accepted here so we moved. Kyrian and I are the only Hunter's left." He looked down at the beans it was depressing, but he's trying to move past that. "America was warm. I dunno." He laughed sheepishly he wasn't good at explanations. "So, tell me about yourself and your family. I'm curious. If you don't mind me asking that is."

"I spilled my water TOO." He piped up helpfully. YEAH except that in his case it was actually true. AND WHAT WAS WITH THIS GIRL like she couldn't tell if she was being nice or not and kind of was like Jekyll and Hyde (West read books sometimes) and maybe she had a TUMOR in her head to make her act all crazy? That was sad. Tumor's were no laughing matter. West watched her gravely.

I'm really excited for Astronomy and Potions I think..." Astronomy would be soo easy but also great cause the stars are great and its great to learn things about the world around us cause the world is really cool and great and Elle loved stars a ton.
"That unspeakable thing is kinda weird don't you think? I mean, what kind of job is it that you don't even know what you do? How do you go about applying for a job that doesn't even have a description? At least if you want to be a auror or a curse-breaker you know what you're getting yourself into!" Theories of West. Yeppppp. "Lizards are good though! Especially if you're too young to get dragons. You'll see!" He gave her a smile that was somewhere between shifty and uber innocent.
Astronomy and Potions?
Astronomy was kinda... West didn't know. He didn't really have the patience to stare at the sky. There was far too much good stuff happening down on the earth! Potions though, yeah!
He hoped they'd get to blow things UP.

"Wow you must be smart if you were put up a year." West commented, bright smile in place. After all normally people were at least twelve when they started second year and at least thirteen when they started third and all the way up like that until they graduated or were too dumb to keep going to school. That was impressive yup.

Toddles had been waiting all summer for them to return, he had been stuck in the Kitchens while the older elves tried to teach him how to cook but Toddles didn't want to cook he wanted to play! Not fair, they needed more baby elves for his summers, yes they did.
Now that he had the shiney again, Toddles was ready to play catch or that bowlingsy game that he had heard the boys and girls talk about. He had lost the shiney last time the studensies were back at the Castle and he had missed it so much. It was his friend, yes it was. The shiney.
But now that he found it on a desk behind the scary gargoyles, he was ready to play with the other kids. Sneaking into the big room where the food went, Toddles jumped on the far table and ran to its center, dodging the cups and pitchers.
"You, Studensies! Play catch with Toddles!" the baby elf tossed the shiney at the ones dressed in green and giggled with his high pictched voice as it flew through the air.

The doors to the Great Hall opened, and Sierra Greingoth stepped inside. The look on her face was a mixture between a confident smirk and a stern expression. She adjusted the badge on her uniform, cast a smile toward a certain person sitting at the staff table, and then joined the other snakes at the Slytherin house table.

And she wasn't about to let a food fight put the odds out of their favour.
Now, after the train ride she'd just had, where certain other people seemed to have lost the ability to control their pets, all Sierra wanted to do was sit down and enjoy a nice, quiet meal. She was borderline in a bad mood all thanks to the cat episode on the train, and she was sure a house full of Slytherins should know how to behave. After all, pride was one of the characteristics they were best known for.
"Dear Merlin!" she suddenly exclaimed, having unfortunately sat right in the vicinity of someone who decided to yell just at that moment. Spinning around, she came face to face with Aurora Stewart-Quinn. She and Aurora might actually get along just fine, especially since the girl seemed enthusiastic about gaining back the cups the Puffers stole from them last term.
The ringing in her ears, though, just pushed the right button that sent her over the edge. She was officially in a bad mood now. "Who. is already. doing something. to lose. house points?!" she asked, pausing after certain words. She pushed herself off her seat and eyed the group down the table.
She'd really hate to have to 'crack the whip' in the middle of the opening feast.

"Hey! Little guy, settle down! We just got told off by that older kid not to throw things! Do you want Slytherin to lose?!" She tried grabbing the house elf to hold it still.

But, as much as Nora wanted to just snuggle him just as if he were some stuffed animal, the one whose name seemed to be Toddles... was tossing things around their table. "Erm, Toddles?" He won't get mad at her for trying, would he? "How about I play catch with you, but not at the feast?" That was reasonable. They could play any time the elf wanted, just NOT in the presence of so many professors and the headmaster and all.

Then, as if subtly switching moods, Cass added with a chuckle "But then, that never seems to be a problem when its food from the House elves, isn't it?"
Jonathan frowned after hearing what Cass said about Fee's sort of whereabouts. He was really hoping for her to be back this term, well at least before Jonathan graduates. Fee was one of the first people to approach Jonathan from before and Jonathan always had fun in the kitchens with her around. She's not the typical Slytherin girl, she's just Fee. Jonathan returned a shook on the head when Cass asked her the same question. Apparently, he hasn't heard any news from Fee since he was in his fifth year. Shame, he doesn't see her around that often.
Jonathan smiled, Daichi was like a little brother to him even though he is practically the same height as he is right now. These kids these days, they just grew up so fast. "His name is Daichi" ring-a-bell perhaps? And should he introduce his stuffed duck as well? That priceless toy has a name as well.
Jonathan tapped the table and burst into laughter when Cass commented about them being able to fit inside the common room. Technically, they still would all fit and he knows that she was just exaggerating it a tinsy bit but still, it was hilarious. "Soon, people will have to graduate and reel in more space" isn't that like the cycle of life? When one goes away, someone replaces it?.... Something like that.
Bloated?
How can she be bloated with those desserts? Jonathan could never pass food when it comes to dinner. Dessert is just a type of food, he can't just go to sleep and not have eaten any protein at all. But that was just Cass. His mother only eats garden salad and she considers herself full. Who get full over a garden salad? Weird...
There ya go... "House elves makes the food delicious here" who could really pass that up? That's one of the many reasons why when he's hungry he goes directly to the kitchens and not here, in the Great Hall. "But don't force yourself. We're nearly going to sleep soon." they say it's bad to sleep with a full stomach, so if Cass says she's bloated, she shouldn't eat more or she'll have to stay up for it.

He starred at Selena in horror. His eyes widened at her while his hand is still touching his cheek. He got silent for a few moments and just got paranoid. WAIT! Maybe, she just wants too?
Jonathan gulped and opened his mouth for a question "Why, Lime?" it's not that it's a bad idea or something, it's just that he was not used with nicknames and whenever someone gives him a nickname he always wants to know the reason behind it.

Jonathan glared when he heard Aurora shouted that out. Not to her but what she just had said. He heard they were last place last term and Jonathan didn't like it one bit. Slytherins are suppose to win at everything so why did they suddenly just flopped last term? He doesn't want that to happen this year, not when he's graduating.
His pride won't take it. Jonathan nod at Aurora and then looked at the newly sorted students. Yeah, loose a point and it will cause you hell.

Ahhh, and the new prefect finally entered the great hall. Sierra seems to be the same old Sierra. Nothing's changed that much about her other than the fact that she has grown taller and underwent some girly changes. Jonathan still thinks that Slytherin should be back on track this term. He gasped eww. "Raw salmon? Maybe you can just think of it as sushi." He thought about his home. "My brother and I left not too long ago. He got a job at the ministry and I got accepted here so we moved. Kyrian and I are the only Hunter's left." He looked down at the beans it was depressing, but he's trying to move past that. "America was warm. I dunno." He laughed sheepishly he wasn't good at explanations. "So, tell me about yourself and your family. I'm curious. If you don't mind me asking that is."
Elle thought of it as sushi. Still didn't make it any better. As she listened to him talk her face fell at the tone in his voice and his obvious discomfort with the subject. "Aw man I'm sorry." She lightly placed a hand on his shoulder. Then thinking about her own family, "Ah well my Dad's a riot and we just moved to an apartment in Liverpool last year. My Mom, who's a witch, used to teach kids when we lived in Sussex and she left 3 years ago." It wasn't so bad talking about her family, really. It just wasn't that interesting. "So we packed up and traveled around for a while, then settled down in Liverpool and adopted a cat."

Astronomy was kinda... West didn't know. He didn't really have the patience to stare at the sky. There was far too much good stuff happening down on the earth! Potions though, yeah!
He hoped they'd get to blow things UP.
She thought for a moment. "Thats why its so cool! You're so completely mysterious, and theres a reason of course, why would you have to be quiet about it if it wasn't really important cool stuff?" All sorts of crazy secrets must be going on behind those closed doors. "Really? Is there actually a specific age where you can buy dragons?" And what age was it? At least theres something she could put down for future birthday wishes.
