The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.
Amber looked up at the girl who was talking to her. Okay, improvement, that's what she wanted. "Hello Chelsea, nice to meet you!" Amber said returning the wonderful smile back to the girl.
She took another bit of her pudding, yes, this was the best pudding she had ever eaten. "Amber, second year." She said thinking that the girl had to know what house she was in, because after all, she was sitting at the Slytherin House Table, alone. No one but a real snake would do that. Amber took the last bite of pudding on her plate, debating whether or not she wanted more.
The girl seemed friendly, which was good. "Nice to meet you too, Amber" said the blonde. She took a drink of her butterbeer and looked around the room, seeing little first years being sorted. "So, excited to be back?" she said trying to start up conversation.
So far this year was starting off great, maybe Ryan leaving was a great thing. No more being limited to one person. And she was finally starting to feel like she belonged in Slytherin, and not just placed here because of her family.

They looked awesome though....

More food wasting. Didn't anyone know you only used gross food in food fights so it wasn't wasting the yum?
"I spilled my water TOO." He piped up helpfully. YEAH except that in his case it was actually true. AND WHAT WAS WITH THIS GIRL like she couldn't tell if she was being nice or not and kind of was like Jekyll and Hyde (West read books sometimes) and maybe she had a TUMOR in her head to make her act all crazy? That was sad. Tumor's were no laughing matter. West watched her gravely.
SOOOOOOOO sad.
"Wow. You guys must really suck then." West answered thoughtfully, and almost consolingly. "But DON'T WORRY! You have us now!" As in, us firsties. He beat his chest to prove his point, which was that he and his fellow slythie firsties were AWESOME, obviously.
YEAH. Theodore liked West. Despite his initial concerns about his chocolate frog-nabbing-hands, Theo soon realized that he was the same when it came to those things.
"That's right. We were having a water fight right before your Cauldron Cake disturbed us." He told the Ravenclaw.
Yeah. Meanie.
"Sshhhhh...." Theo poked West in the side at his kinda rude response to the old people. "These people are Slytherins, they will attack us."
But he was totally right. These guys were a right bunch of first years. Hogwarts was in for a treat....

Theodore wasn't sure what was going on right now. Half of him was on guard for wild Ravenclaws coming to get him, and the other half kept worrying about teachers coming to nab points away from him. Not to mention that he was sitting at a table with EVIL SLYTHERINS..
POOR GUY. He deeply sympathized with himself.
And MORE RAVENCLAWS?!!!! Okay, this one, he knew. It was Blue. The puke girl, as he liked to remember her. "Hellooooooow."
Why did people keep looking at his pants?
"Yessssss, we had a water fight. Right, West?" Theodore coughed shortly and crossed his legs. Yeah, if only she knew the truth. ERRRRRRRRRRRM.... "SURE, I guess...."

Mordred stared at Aurora blankly. Well, he couldn’t think of anything to say anymore, but he believes that waiting it out is still the best solution. He shrugged and wrinkled his nose a bit. “Thanks to Merlin, I don’ have to deal with those things…yet.” He thought coolly as he watched Aurora look for food in her pockets.
And a chocolate frog was passed to him.
He ripped off the box together with the card and placed the whole chocolate in his mouth. Chocolate never tasted that good. He crumpled the box and placed it inside his pocket. He sighed and realized that his pockets were full of trash. He totally forgot about those.
He pulled out five to seven sheets of parchment that were folded in an unruly way, and placed it on the table. “Remind me to burn these when we get to the common room.” He said as he looked at it with menace in his eyes. Most of the parchment had his name on it, and he wanted to rip it off right then and there.
Aurora watched as Mordred put some papers on the table, she reached towards them then pulled her hand back. "What are they..?" she asked, wondering if he wanted to tell her or not.

"Well, we are in the middle of a feast," she pointed out, rolling her eyes. "Will one of you please toss the ball to the elf?" she asked the house. Toss it preferably to the Hufflepuff table, or better yet--Gryffindor--, so the elf will run further away to catch it?
Aurora nodded, "Yep. I don't blame you, I'd be up that end..."If Kennedy wasn't up there."We're gonna have to lick these kids into shape..." she added with a quick smirk. There was no way they'd win the cup with this amount of insane first years. What sort of stuff did their parents feed them?!
How were things..? "Um, alright. Been better. How're you? Prefectship going well so far?" Y'know, in the whole day she'd been doing it.
She followed Sierra's gaze to the elf and grabbed the ball and levitated it to the back of the room - if she could have done she'd have let it go all the way back to the kitchen but she couldn't so she made do with sending it towards the great hall... Past the Hufflepuff table. Maybe the elf would go after it and leave them alone... And go and annoy the Puffers... "Maybe it'll leave us alone now." she said, scowling slightly.

"Hey.." he started to speak. "I told you that wake me up when the food appear, right?" said him cold. "So, don't disturb me. I'm tired." Then he put his head again to the table. FINE! Zhenya screamed in her head. She got up and left the Great Hall to use the bathroom.
When she came back she felt a bit better. She had to splash her face with cold water, or she was going to over heat! She didn't want that, at alllll.
When she got back to the table, and sat down, she made sure her arm and leg touched Gary as she sat down. She er... didn't mean to.... much, but she did. Bellamy stood up from the table and walked along the rows of students. With his stiff demeanor and sour expression, he might have been mistaken for a professor himself, save his robes. His new housemates seemed downright 'jolly', a far cry from the Slytherins he had read about in history books. He might of suspected some over-excitement from the younger years, but even the older students seemed to lack the dignified solemnity of their forebears. Perhaps this was just progress and the houses would one day merge into one. Lion, raven, badger and snake... that would make for an interesting mascot.
Ah! His mark. The prefect stood out markedly from the rest. He made to speak with grim formality. "... Excuse me, you are a prefect, yes?"
Kennedy shifted his head on his arms slightly to get a better view of what was going on. Then his eyes caught sight of student walking along the table, whom stopped by him. He raised his head and raised an eyebrow. So formal. "Yes, I am. Do you need help with something?" he asked, politely.
Did he need help finding a seat? Food? Something?

She and Kennedy were partly responsible for what went on in the house, and it was their responsibility to set things right. "Food fight?" That's what she'd heard, but apparently it'd happened on the opposite end of the table she was on. "What was that all about?"
The prefect sat up straight and nodded. "Yeah, just a bit tired," he said, doing his best to give her a grin. Really, if the Headmaster didn't make his speech Kennedy was going to pass out here and just nap. His body wasn't so much as tired, but his mind was throbbing. Today had not turned out like he would have liked it to. Kennedy shrugged and said, "It's fine, everyone seems happy to be here." And that was important. Happy snakes meant hard working snakes, which in the end meant more house points, and sum that all it equaled the House Cup. Kennedy's eyes briefly wander the table and then he shook his head. "It was a Ravenclaw student tossing a cauldron cake at one of our students...accidentally," he said. Of course, he didn't believe that, but the plus side was that it didn't escalate to more.
He pit his hand on top of hers for a second, it was cool and smooth then he removed it incase she wanted to take her hand away. "It's ok. My brother is awesome. I finally gettin travel some and I'm here now." His pale blue eyes danced with amusement thinking about her and her dad's adventures, especially with his cooking. And they have a cat. "With threat yoyour dad sounds and cooks I bet it was something else! Kyrian and I have a cat too. I found it when it was a kitten. Now he rules the house." He picked up a red Bertie Botts bean and tossed it up in the air trying to catch it in his mouth with no luck it hit right in the dang eye. "Gawd!" He heard his southern twang appear and he placed an identical bean on her plate. "Heh oops. That's what I get for playing around. This should be some sort of berry or cinnamon."
Elle again turned a shade of pink as he placed his hand but smiled just the same. His hand was a bit larger than hers, warm and soft. Though she wasn't as interested in boys as some of her friends, he really was a nice kid and she was glad they'd met. "Well I'm glad you're here at least." She removed her hand and perked up at the talk of cats. "My dad's great. And a little kitten? Aww. What's its name?"
She watched as he threw the bean into the air and it fell directly into his left eye, "Ahahhaaha oh my god!" After laughing for a bit she calmed down and ate the bean in front of her. "Sorry, and its raspberry! Yum."

Zoey was glad she made the house elf happy by playing with it but bummed when it took off to another table. She only got one toss in.
She sighed has she headed back to the table. She was really bored, hungry and no one as talked to her yet. She sat down and tried again to get someone to talk to her.
"Hi, I am Zoey. I am a first year. When do they start serving the food?" She said to the nearest person.

Ronnie found herself wandering over to the Slytherin table, wanting to meet more friends. She spotted a girl sitting by herself, looking rather lonely. Ronnie frowned. No body deserved to be lonley! Ronnie is here to save the day!
She skipped up to the where the girl was sitting and smiled. "Hi! I'm Ronnie!" she said with a little wave. "What's your name?"
Eliza had actually almost forgot about last year and the house cup. This year, winning was not a possibility, it was a necessity. It was not something that might happen, but something that would happen.
"Maybe, I'm not exactly the best flyer..." Eliza said vaguely. Understatement of the year, she was a terrible flyer! She could get from A to B, but she wasn't at home on a brromstick. She didn't mind watching matches though, they were pretty cool. As long as Slytherin won. "What about you?"
"Yeah, I'll be trying out for seeker" said the blonde. She was a natural flyer and could play quidditch well. She hoped to make the team but if not, she just wanted Slytherin to win this year. They needed it and the house cup. "I just hope we win quidditch and the house cup this year. It's bad enough we lost...to the puffs" she added. She still wondered how Slytherin came dead last. Chelsea was going to try a bit harder this year to earn house points.

Zoey was becoming really depressed now. No one at her table still talked her. She really wanted to be in Slytherin and her dad always talked about how much fun he had with all his friends in Slytherin. Now she is starting to wish she thought more about being in Gryffindor like her mother.
All things she saw a Gryffindor skipping her way and greeted her. "Oh, Hi! I am Zoey. My mom was in Gryffindor," Zoey said trying to come up with something to say other then Hi, I am Zoey.
Now. Where was Anya's favorite Italian boy? She scanned the Slytherin table before spotting Asher.
"Honeyduke!" she said rushing over to him. She gave him a great big hug from behind.
Silly boy. He probably was busy focusing on his plate willing the food to appear. He probably didn't even see her coming.
Asher who would continually look down at his plate and back up to where the headmaster would stand with his start of term speech. Then they could eat. And eat is what he planned to do.
Little did he know that his sugarpulm was looking for him, ready to pounce him in her little lioness way. All he knew that he heard one of his most favorite nicknames ever honeyduke But before he could turn around or move at all Anya was giving him one of the from behind hugs.
"Anya! Sugarpulm!" He said with a grin. After she let go he stood and gave her a hug lifting her off the floor a few inches. They had spend some time over the summer in Italy. Over the summer Asher had grew a few inches, and his blonde hair had turned brown. He looked more like a teenager now, and so did Anya.
He carefully placed her back on the floor and offered her his seat. then he took the empty one next to her. "How's the feast going so far? " He asked looking down at this empty plate.

"it was okay, I guess" he replied. Vague because telling the whole story might somehow bore her to death. Jonathan returned the question "How about yours?" Sierra could almost sense some sort of reluctance on Jonathan's part. It was almost as if he was surprised she'd even spoken to him. What? She wasn't a loner. Hearing Aurora's next line, though, Sierra abandoned thoughts of the other end of the table and turned back around. "I'll say. Last term was pathetic. Last place? Then the Puffers won it all?" It had been a living nightmare for Sierra.
She sensed something had upset Aurora. Why she was concerned, Sierra would never know, but the next second, she found herself asking anyway. "Been better? Did something happen?" she asked. Maybe with Kennedy? She shrugged. "I've been alright. My summer was good, and then I got the prefect letter, which made it even better." Really, she'd been surprised. She hadn't really expected it at all, even though she'd always thought she was among the ones who deserved it. "Prefecting is going pretty good so far, but...I've only been on the job a day." She shrugged.
She watched as Aurora banished the ball away from them. A smirk spread across her face as she watched it zoom away. "One can only hope...," she mumbled.

If Sierra was being completely honest with herself, she'd have to admit that she was just a little bit nervous right now. She was even afraid she'd start randomly giggling like some pathetic girl who was attempting a conversation with her crush. She tried to tell herself to lighten up, but that just wasn't happening. At least she was doing alright with appearing cool, calm, and collected.
She nodded along as Kennedy recalled the story about the food night. "Oh, well that's not so bad," she said. "At least, it doesn't tell me we're going to have a hard go of it this term. You'd think Slytherins would make our job a little easier, but who knows." They could be worse. "So how was your summer?" she asked. "Done anything interesting?" She was just waiting for Kennedy or Aurora to reveal whether they were still together or not. She wasn't going to ask, though.

Cass then laughed as she nodded at him "Well, make the most out of it then, but don't worry, I'm sure you'll find a new favorite seat once you graduate." Speaking of which... "Where are you going to go after you graduate anyway?" She asked, surely he must have plans by now...
And Cookie Girl she truly was. Kurumi was like one of those muggle girl scouts that Nathan had told her about before, the ones that sold cookies and such. Except well, she gives them out for free, and frankly her cookies taste way better than the ones the muggles sell. Then, at the question, Cass laughed as she shook her head vigorously. It wasn't exactly funny, but the thought of her, baking something and not burning it to a crisp was amusing. "No, not really." She managed to say after her laughter had died down "The closest thing I ever came to baking something was that apple pie for the scavenger hunt a couple of terms back." And she didn't even have to bake the thing. Just put it together "Anything involving an oven is impossible for me."
Awesome indeed. Daichi is still sort of busy with meeting friends and socializing with his friends, leaving him be, maybe they could do this introduction some other time. Plus, Jonathan bunks in with Daichi in the same room at the common room anyway. More time for talking and such. It's not like all Slytherin guys talk that much. Jonathan barely talks, he'd rather take a rest but not this year. It's his last, the least he could do is make most of it. Nodding to Cass "Sure. The more the merrier" he repeated the quote. It's what his mom would always say to him.
Favorite new place when he graduates? That could be arranged, however, he will miss that favorite spot he has at the common room. He has always been so comfortable of that spot and he'll always be. "I sure hope I will" he replied. Then suddenly Cass asked a question that just gave him a flashback of everything that just happened over the months he left Hogwarts. Where will he go after he graduates? It's not like he hasn't decided on anything YET but still, it's not like he can just take anything his father suggests to him. "I'm still thinking about it." that's pretty much a convenient answer for awhile. Maybe he can finally answer that confidently when he has thought over it deeply. Not now though.
Cass doesn't cook? Jonathan was somehow, not really that surprised though. Jonathan barely does anything when he's at home. He tried baking once and his mother just end up disappointed with what he did in their kitchens. Nobi had to do an extra time just to clean up his mess and of course they had to throw away with what was left with his 'baking'. Jonathan gave out a laugh. "We try our best to do these things but since we're not entirely used to it, I guess we just need more practice" or better yet, stay away from anything that has to do with cooking and baking, yes?

He has never had a conversation with Sierra before, well other than the time that the Slytherin won the Qudditch championship... but that was completely and entirely different from this conversation. He even forgot how her voice sounds like. Jonathan gave out a small laugh. If being on house arrest considered fun then yes, maybe it is.
He doesn't know much about Sierra's background other than her father is now the new minister and his father works for him as one of his advisors. But it was nice hearing her talk about her family. Jonathan however snorted when Sierra mentioned about chores and cooking. It's not that it was hilarious, it's just that Jonathan could never see Sierra with cleaning supplies in her hand or dusting off the walls and especially holding a pan.
But everyone tries. Jonathan was given tons of chores when he's back at home. He never likes it one bit too. "That must have been more fun. Chores and cooking." he smiled at her "So do you officially cook now?" he asked. Jonathan still couldn't. It's harder than one person thinks it is. Cooking and baking is hard when you don't know what you're exactly doing.
Ronnie smiled and took a seat next to Zoey. "Nice to meet you, Zoey!" she said. Then she smiled wider. "Oh really? That's awesome!" she said. "So what year are you in?" she asked.
Zoey moved over a little to give Ronnie some room to sit. She smiled and replied back. "Nice to meet you as while. I am a first year. What year are you in?"
Well, things got pretty bright. There's even an elf here to play along!
Sitting there still, Xing glances around a few times, not knowing what to do. His hand placed on his stomach when it starts to growl again. He needs a distraction. Xing feels like getting to know other students better, but afraid that they'd laugh at his poor English. Ah~ Sitting quietly it is then.
I'm just one of those pretty little liars... | | I'm held down in this starless city...

Still waiting for the food to appear and trying to ignore Toddles who, in the end, found someone to play with him (she didn't want to see what would happen if Lafay would show up), she scanned the surroundings until she spotted a new face somewhere nearby her. Since she was already so sociable that day, why not say hi?
"Hi!" Big grin. "You're new, aren't you? And not a first year either." Obvious, much? She only hoped she wouldn't bother the boy with her silliness.

Ailsa finally played with the baby house elf, but just as quickly as that creature came, he left.
Her head felt fuzzy and she was in the Great Hall. She was sorted into Slytherin!
Ailsa couldn't believe it! "I'm in the best house!" She exclaimed while clapping her hands in delight.
She wondered if she would make many friends in this house. She sure as well try.
Near her there was a rather talkitive student. Someone older, but seemed to be friendly to first years.
"Sorry to interrupt. I'm a first year. I was wondering, who is the Head of House for Slytherin?" Ailsa asked the older girl. Ailsa was feeling a bit weird, I need to eat something. She thought as she rubbed her head and waited for the answer to her question.

Kennedy slowly nodded as he laced his fingers on the table. Actually, he thought Slytherins wouldn't make it easy...on anyone. If they shared the traits of Salazar's house then it would be no easy trip, but the again everyone did want to succeed, so who knew. They'd just have to wait and see.
He turned to her at the change of topic. How was his summer? Horrible, weird, and fun,, but he refrained from saying that. "It was...interesting. I went to a Quidditch game in France with Aurora," he said. Although that had turned out...bad. Besides that he did spend time with his Godfather's family after...he got kidnapped. It'd probably seem weird to say that out loud. When he had mentioned it to Aurora she had freaked out. "And I also spent time with my Godfather's family," said with a slight grin. That had been fun. "What about you? Do anything fun?" he asked.
Mika couldn't help but smile when she saw Blue standing there she couldn't help but giggle. YAY BLUE! Skipping - yes skipping over to her she held out the cookies.
"Hiiii" she smiled. "I was giving these out as a sorry I launched a cauldron cake at you treat....I meant to launch it into my mouth" she opened her mouth and pointed into it as she spoke muffling her speach just a tad. "But I failed - faily-fail-failed...mhm" she nodded. "Anyways cookies are yummy - I'll be back dropping some off to the pretty Professors" she flushed. Yes she'd called them pretty.
Blue scrunched up in nose in disgust when Mia called the professors pretty. Okay, Blue agreed, they weren't bad looking per say but they were so OLD! They were even older than the students!! Than EVE! And that was seriously old. Blue waved at Mia, shaking her head slightly.
Like liking boys was gross.
And just when she though they could be friends.

The pee patch threesome? o_____O
"Water fights are cooool. Bit cold for them though isn't it?"
Blue shrugged, not really paying attention to it. Thinking about it, she didn't wanna be soaking wet going around the school on her sort of first day. Like Theo and West. She pushed the goblet away from her slightly. She heard a CROAK! And she gave a gasp of shock, before fishing around in her pocket for WMD and placing him on the table.
She beamed fondly at the toad before beaming at West and Theo.
"Can you believe we're at HOGWARTS?"
'Cause she couldn't.
Wow. She could really bounce like now. Like BOUNCE bounce.
But she couldn't so she settled for swinging her legs, still beaming.
