Jonathan walked downstairs from the boys dorm room when someone told him that Professor Lafay is now inside the common room. Startled, yes. Professor Lafay does not just randomly come inside the common room, right? There had to be a reason to this. So without further ado, Jonathan hastily grabbed his sneakers and immediately went downstairs. WAIT! Did she assign for a meeting that he doesn't know of? Because seriously, Jonathan is so behind with all of these even with his subjects. Which he is not proud of and is trying his best to fix.

Going down the stairs, he heard Professor Lafay mentioning about green and silver. So he jumped the three steps left and rushed through the center like she ordered. "Professor" he said nodding to her presence. From the look of this, Slytherin will be definitely having those meeting.

Although... about what? Well.... everyone is about to find out.

West appeared from under a cushion.

No really. He was under a cushion.

He reappeared with a galleon in his hand and a grin on his face. YEAHHHH! Couch diving was always a good way to make money. He pocketed it, looked around at the sound of an adult voice, and then perked up, instantly curious. He got to his feet and wandered over to his gathered housemates, and Head of House.

What was UP?

Emmanuelle jumped when the Head of House basically ordered everyone in the house into the center of the room. What was going on? Had someone messed up horribly already? Figuring she'd better see what this was about, she made her way to the circle of her housemates. Joining the circle, she said "Madame?" Completely forgetting the English way of addressing one's professor.

Gary just went back to the common room after he was wandering around the Hogwarts. The blonde guy noticed that there was a lady spoke to the people in the common room. Was she..

Oh, She was the Head of House. Professor Lafay, right? Then he gathered around the fellow Slytherin students. What's going on now? "Professor Lafay." he nodded. Wondered why she was here right now. Sigh.

Delilah was hiding behind a very large, muggle book of fairy tales in the corner of the common room. She wanted to read them without anyone paying any attention to her... She knew a lot of the House wouldn't appreciate the stories. PFFFT.

It was only when she heard an adult talking that she peaked over the top of the book.

Lafay.

Oh no! ... Perhaps, if she stayed veeeeeeeery still, then the Head of House wouldn't notice her... No. Of course not... That was a silly idea. That woman saw everything...

Folding the corner of the page she was on, Delilah stood up and held her book close to her chest, then shuffled through the common room, close to where she'd seen Aurora before.

What did Lafay want? She nearly NEVER came into the common room... IT WAS GOING TO BE BAD, WASN'T IT?! Yes. It HAD to be. At least she had her book to hide behind if she needed to...

Before João could reply to Emmanuella, Professor Lafay had entered the room and told them to move to the centre. Frowning to himself, he got up and moved to the centre as she wanted them to, while greeting her with a "Hello Professor!"

Eh?

Laughing Angelina said, "Yes, but I love it being so big. No I was the youngest until my brother came. I got two old brothers and two older sisters that are nearly ten years older."

"For four years my parents had us all going to Mexico. I've missed a few trips and got stuck with my grandparents in Scotland. Other than that I've been to France, Germany, Italy, Russia and America," she told her. "Have you been to any trip like this," she asked.

Nodding Angelina said, "I hope to get on it as well. Every year I feel I get better at it then I did the first year. From what I saw there was some people I haven't seen before try out. Hopefully they are really good." From the two full years of being at Hogwarts Slytherin has only won once. Hopefully they will win again. Oh she was so excited to see who won! She loved Quidditch games as well, so exciting.

When the head of house Professor Lafay came in Angelina became worried. Without looking, she already knew she was included in the wearing green and silver colors. Getting up from her conversation with friends she walked over and stood by her other Slytherin classmates.

"Professor," she said. Angelina wondered what was wrong.

She nodded at the Head Girl, "Miss Zabini-Riddle, congratulations to you on your appointment."

"Captain Fanster, welcome back. Sit please and get comfortable." She said.

There was a first year... she didn't have her roster so she didn't know his name. She merely nodded.

"Prefect Greingoth," She said trying to look at her.

"Miss Stewart-Quinn..." She said with a nod.

It did not escape Hecate's notice that someone was sitting quite close to her daughter. She chose not to say anything...

... yet.

"Prefect Escalante."

"Master Kim, welcome back." She said nodding.

... Kid. First Year she presumed. Next time she did this, she needed to bring the roster...

She nodded to the sixth year.

"Master Rush," she said greeting him.

Another unfamiliar face... well, this one at least wasn't a first year. Or did she just not recognize the girl. Mehh... it didn't matter.

"Master Mendonça," she said and tipped her head towards him.

"Miss Andrews," She said in greeting.

"Alright... I hope your summer was good, because this term will be hard. Look around you. Do you see anything missing?" She asked waiting for the responses. She sat on the overstuffed wing back chair.

Kennedy was still standing straight as a soldier when their Head of House began to speak. He nodded when she said his name and hoped that they weren't in some sort of trouble. The term had just began so he doubted they were. Maybe.

He had a STRONG hunch of what was missing. "The house cup," he said. His brain was telling him to shut up and back off, but he stood his ground.

He smiled hesitantly at her nod. Adarian didn't expect her to know his name yet and when she did learn it hopefully it would come with a positive light, like he was an asset to Slytherin. He gave the room a quick once over then stopped. Of course he wouldn't know what was changed!! This was his first Year. So he waited and listed to the older kids to see what was gone.

Sierra didn't say anything about her summer. She knew that wasn't actually up for discussion anyway, and quite frankly, Professor Lafay already knew how her summer went. She didn't look around either. She already knew the point their Head of House was getting at. "Not just the house cup," she said, looking at Kennedy. "The cups for Quidditch and Gobstones, too."

Yeah. So not her fault.

"It's good to be back ma'am."Kimalia nodded smiling before allowing herself to sink into the closest couch leaning back before allowing her right leg to cross her left knee.

She listened intently, since knowing her Head, her words were always serious... Anything missing. Kimalia looked around, wondering if there was some stolen possessions.. and then it hit her when she heard Kennedy say those dreaded three words. "...and the Quidditch and Gobstones cup." Yeah, she wasn't exactly proud of that loss, who would be..

Hearing Lafay greet him back made Jonathan smile a little. So she knew he was gone half of the term last year. He wanted to add that he misses Potions really bad but with the way things are right now, it's best if he just kept still to where he is and just keep quiet.

Yes. Keep quiet.

Then she began her meeting. It started off with something nice but as she continues more of it, Jonathan right here and now knows that this meeting will be more of a scolding(?). He heard that the Slytherin came in last, last term. That's not a very nice news to hear when you're away. In fact what he loathe more about it, is that first place goes to Hufflepuff, winning all 3 of the trophies. Pffffttt.... Please.

The question seems to be more of a rhetorical question seeing as they all know that Slytherin lost last year, and all three of them too. It's annoying how they didn't win anything at all. Really, really annoying to say the least. Jonathan just didn't bother to answer... what else was there to say? Just knowing that they lost the house cup, gobstones and quidditch cup was already disappointing enough.

Sigh.

Errr should West say stuff?

The firstie only saw the common room with fresh eyes and he sorta looked around a bit before tentatively putting his hand up. "I don't know about the cups and things, on account of I wasn't here but... Pride? Its a bit of a mess in here and my dad -he was a Slytherin- he says that showing well and taking pride in what is yours, makes it easier to believe in yourself and do better and be the best." He said that about West's room quite a lot, and it was true that West felt better when he had cleaned his room, even if he didn't always like doing it to begin with.

Errr... no? Just him? Okay then. West went quiet and listened curiously to all the big kids.

Eh, what?

Looking around, it didn't seem like anything was missing. Then again, she had just transferred in from another country, so she wouldn't know if there was that should be here but wasn't. But then people started talking about house cups and Quidditch trophies and gobstones and she was even more confused. Okay, not completely confused, because the Quidditch thing she could understand. People got competitive when it came to sports (she was guilty of it herself). But gobstones and house cup threw her for a loop. Gobstones, because who would want to admit to being good at that? And the house cup, what was that for? Being the best house? Was there some kind of special competition for that that hadn't been explained to her yet? Did it have to do with those point things? One thing she did know, or at least sensed, was that, considering how important this seemed to be to everyone and all she had were questions, it'd be better to keep quiet. She could just ask someone later.

Selena beamed back at the Potions Mistress. "Thank you Professor!" Selena said, smiling brightly. The Slytherin really did wonder what all of this was about and continued to pet her cruppy's little head. Hehe... soft. Maybe the professor wanted to hug Clarke as well? Nawwwwh. Selena didn't want the potions mistress to like... toss the cruppy into a cauldron and make some funky potion out of it. That would just be scary.

She nodded her head then looked around when the professor spoke. "We're missing pygmy puffs on everyone's head," Selena blurted out loud before she immediately zipped her mouth shut. Which was very true, but Selena would probably get the evvvvillllll glare from the professor that way. "We're also missing the shiny house cup... quidditch cup... and gobstones one." Which were all being contaminated by Hufflepuff right now. Selena didn't like that. The only people allowed to touch them were the Slytherins. Heck, the only people allowed to be near them were the Slytherins and ONLY the Slytherins.

Yay, Eliza thought, lecture time. Clearly she meant the cups. She eyed the doors, closest was the boys dorm, which probably wasn't a good idea, at the opposite end of the room a door to the girls dorm and finally in front of her a door outside. This wasn't good. Then again, maybe she could just sneak off.

"Is it just the House leaders who will speak?" She said her eyes wide with fury burning behind them.

"Yes, you are all right... well..." she said a bit confused, "...all except for the pigmy puffs..." that was just... weird... "We've had the House Cup, The Quidditch and Gobstone cups in this common room for the past two terms. And this term it belongs to Hufflepuff." Hadley's house...

Hecate had nothing against Hufflepuff, but Hadley was certainly her least favorite coworker.

"I expect this to change next term. I expect you to earn points and bring this house back into the lead. Go to classes, do your homework, participate in activities around the school and most of all, do not get caught!" She said carefully. "If I, myself, catch you doing anything against the rules, you will regret it more than if another professor did. I expect greatness from you and I do not tolerate stupidity!" Her eyes followed everyone that had been gathered there. "You were chosen to be here because you are cunning and ambitious! Then show me how just how cunning and ambitious you are! Win back those cups!"

There was something about Professor Lafay that made Aurora want to stand in line like a soldier. Respect, probably. And fear. Even though about an hour ago Aurora had fully intended to crawl in a hole and hide until the holidays, she now felt like she needed to go and earn points. Lots of them. Because she didn't want to let Slytherin down...

And she didn't want another detention with Professor Lafay.

She did stand up straight, but not exactly like a soldier - there was no danger of a salute. "Yes, Professor." she said as Lafay instructed them in points gaining. She intended to do all those things... especially the not getting caught one. Because recently trouble seemed to be following her around like a stray dog...

Kimalia looked around at the other housemates who were silent. Yep, looks like only the leaders would be talking, hehe. Though she kept up a blank face since she knew better than to smile while a Professor is angry.

Okay, so it's in Hufflepuff's house.. Normally, she wouldn't have cared but considering it was their Quidditch cup before she got it lost. It was like a sucker punch to her gut. It hurt..

Nodding, yep, yep go to classes and all that stuff.. Kimalia was already dreading some classes, but she did want to be a top points earner again just like in her first second year.

Wait, don't get caught.. doing what? Was she actually encouraging them to steal the cups? Oh, never mind then, she said win them. Well, okay then Professor Lafay... she did have a point, they were sorted into Slytherin for a reason. Perhaps she should give Gobstones another chance, she did help win that final point last term to send them to the finals, maybe she could do it again. "We'll make you and our entire house proud, Professor." Kimalia cheered, looking now at everyone again. "Right guys?"

Kennedy was glad to have answered, but that didn't settle down the nerves. Not even Selena's pygmy puff comment that in other occasions would have caused him to grin or even chuckle a bit.

Right.

Points. And lots of them.

The Prefect would have to work harder. Make sure his snakes aren't late to class and if they are distract the professor so they won't get caught, be more encouraging, make sure they understand lessons and help with housework. Yes. He could do that. A list began forming with things he could do to help his housemates with.

He turned to Kimalia and nodded. "Yes. We will work hard and earn our cups back." His voice came out strong and audible for everyone to hear. He was serious about this. Kennedy liked winning and he'd bet a thousand Galleons everyone in this room did too. Plus, he wanted to make their Head of House proud.

Angelina nodded and mumbled a yes. She was going to try hard to get the cup back in her part anyways this year. Now Lafay made it pretty clear to the others they would have to do the same. It would be no problem with her to get the house points she needed, and also she never got in trouble so nothing bad would happen to her. All that was worried with the Slytherins' was the snakes that did get into trouble.

Since he was a new student here, Gary didn't know what actually missed from the Common room. At first he thought that this lady had lost her wedding ring or anything at the common room. So? The blonde guy just stayed at his position and listened what actually she spoke about.

The cups.

He just knew that last term Slytherin lost all of the cups. Not only quidditch, but also gobstones and house cup. What a.. terrible lost. He wished he could be participated at the Quidditch team this year, but due to his injury and healer's restriction, he didn't sign up for Quidditch roster. Maybe he could try again.. next term? Depends on his condition too, actually.

Now, he must be participated to take over the cups. But.. what could he do? Then he listened again to the Professor. Well.. it sounded like it wasn't the real him. He was too lazy to be active at several class, and sometimes he abandoned the homeworks too. Sweet Merlin! So now, he should change himself. Yes. The ugly sorting hat had put him in here, so he should show to them how ambitious and cunning he is.

The blonde guy just stayed calm at his position, tried not to eat apple in front of her while she was talking, because it was rude. "Yes.. Professor," he said short and nodded to himself.

"Right kid, Pride. We are Slytherins and we take pride in ourselves. That will help to regain our cups. Even this first year sees what mess this place it. What's your name kid?" She asked.

"Don't just nod or tell me Yes Professor. I want to SEE it, the hour glasses in the great hall should reflect the pride you take in yourselves and your house." She said

"Good, Captain Fanster, I'm counting on you... I'm counting on all of you." She said.

"Good... though I'm not sure that sitting so close to the Slytherin top point earner will transfer her smarts to you..." There... so she said something.

Selena's mouth opened to say something but quickly closed it not wanting to say something stupid. Because like the professor just said, stupidity was not going to be tolerated. And she found herself agreeing with the Professor one hundred and thirty seven percent. So she just pet the cruppy and tried to remain calm and not hide somewhere. Because regardless of how the Potions Mistress was their head of house, Selena was a little bit afraid of the lady... even after seven years. Selena nodded and glanced at everyone else.

Kennedy and Kimalia had both said something. Ah, definitely made things less awkward and quiet.

"Goooo Slytherin!!" Selena exclaimed, beaming at everyone as her cruppy barked in agreement. See, Slytherins were totally going to win the house cup. Any other idea was ridiculous. Besides, the cup belonged to Slytherin. It was rightfully theirs and no one was going to take it away. Ever.
