Angelina watched as Selena's cruppy got up and walked off. She wondered a little where it is heading to, but Selena didn't seem to concerned. Smiling back at the girl Angelina said, "Yes I'm so glad! I've missed it here too much." After saying this she kept quiet a little but then asked, "Are you happy to be back as well?"


Angelina was so tired today that she didn't see her friend Zhenya walk into the Common Room. That was all until she heard her say 'ah' loudly. Angelina smiled up at Zhenya. It was good to see at least one good face she knew.

When Zhenya came and sat next to Angelina she said with a smile, "Hey Zhenya! My summer was pretty good. What about your?" She then watched as Zhenya pulled out some chocolate biscuits.

Angelina laughed and smiled while she watched a boy nearby drove and flop on the chair. He must be very happy to be back! While still laughing, she didn't think it would hurt to introduce herself, she needed to make more friends this year.

Keeping the smile on her face she said, "You must lovveee that chair." Angelina then laughed again. Holding out her hand she said, "I'm Angelina."

Wow there was a lot of happy Slytherins jumping around today. Angelina liked this, made her feel happy and fit in. Smiling widely she walked over to the girl calmed to be named Chelsea. Waving when she approached her she said, "Hi Chelsea, I'm Angelina." SHe thinks she remembers seeing Chelsea around Hogwarts. Are they close in school years?

She walked into the common room and hide in her normal corner from last school year. She listened to the converations going on.

Asher was basically bouncing up and down in his chair as more and more Slytherins made there way into the common room. He couldn't help but notice that this term some of the older girls were talking to him. He grinned and nodded to the girl. "Hello girl I don't know."

Asher looked up. Was she talking to him? He glanced around the room. Seeing as he was one of the only guys around and sitting on a chair. He nodded "Yes, I loooove my chair." He laughed shaking her hand "It's nice to meet you Angelina, I'm Asher."

CATS LIKE TO EAT PYGMY PUFFS? That was bad! Maybe they could banish all the cats that ate them? Then that would be pretty good. The girl was pretty hyper and awesome because she was head girl. She was also pretty nice. But what could Liesel say back? She didn't know.

"Good Answer!" she said. "I'm Liesel Walther fifth year." she told the girl.

Emmanuelle had decided to stay silent after her introduction and listen to the other loudly spoken introductions, trying to match names to faces. Would be useful if she ever wanted to have a conversation (which she always did) or needed to shout a watch out in the corridor (one never knew…). She heard someone approach and then said someone introduced himself. Charmingly. "Well hello, Marcelo," she replied, smiling and shaking his hand. "No, you wouldn't have seen me around last term. Just transferred in from France."

"Oh that's good! Did you get up to much? I had a really good summer! I saw my big brother, who had been travelling for about 2 years! It was really nice, and my uncle came home to stay with us... probably forever," she said, with a laugh. That was SO uncle Archer! "And my mother had twins! Theodore and Eva-Solome," she said proudly. She was a big sister and it felt great.

Zhenya ate a biscuit, and watched it replace itself. Smiling to herself, and wanting to send her mother a thankyou, she offered some to Angelina.

Wow, what a day...he'd spent a bit of it with Ronnie out at the playground. Yes playground, here at Hogwarts! She'd scared him making him think she'd gotten hurt leaping off the swing, and only had a bruise. Then Charms, Divination and Herbology besides! Oi, what a way to start out the year.

Stepping into the common room area, he looked around at the students who were there, not seeing anyone in particular, he did notice Selena was there, but no one else who really he remembered. Leaning against the wall he stood there off to the side with his hands sliding into the pockets of his robes.

Addie smirked at the boy. He seemed funny. As she listened to him talking to another girl she picked up their names. "Hi Angelina, Asher," Addie smiled as she ate some more chocolate. "Awesome Addie your short Slytherin." That was a fun introduction wasn't it. Then she noticed that he seemed to like that chair a lot. "Do all Slytherins claim chairs?" she asked standing up and surveying all the chairs before picking one that seemed comfy enough. "If so I claim this one."

Oh more eavesdropping on other peoples conversations. "Hi Liesel I'm a fifth year also," Addie exclaimed. "Addie Coral." This was fun. Addie really enjoyed the people in the Slytherin house and eavesdropping on conversations and learning names. It was fun, perfect for her loneliness.

Then Addie saw the girl that was in her compartment on the train. "Hi Emma," Addie exclaimed, finally someone she had previously known before sitting down in this partying common room. It was so awesome, Addie ate some more chocolate. Maybe they should have a chocolate bowl for the party common room.

Then he saw another guy. "Hey guy standing against the wall," she exclaimed. "Come join the party."

When the boy said he loved his chair Angelina laughed with him. When he shook her hand she shook it back. Smiling she said to him, "Its nice to meet you as well Asher." Pulling her name away she kept the smile on her face and asked, "What year are you in? I'm third."

Smiling Angelina said, "Your summer sounded so good!" Zhenya seemed to have a better time then she did. "I went to Spain and also went and visited family around England," she said to her friend. Angelina jumped up and down with a big smile on her face, "Oh really? Do you have a picture on the twins?"

Smiling Angelina grabbed a biscuit and watched it replace itself, just like Zhenya's did. Angelina nodded, while taking a bite of the biscuit, to thank Zhenya.

Mordred planned to go to bed early tonight, but he found himself way too disturbed to even lie down on his bed. The letters in his pocket felt heavy, and decided to dispose it by burning. He went up to their common room, totally ignoring his surroundings with his eyes fixed on the green flame. He sat near the fireplace and got the letters out of his pocket. All of them were addressed to him. Different penmanship meant he got one to two letters from each cousin.

They were all traitors. They should be forgotten.

He dared to open one, which he knew came from Julian. The way his name was handwritten was a giveaway. Bad memories of him flashed before his eyes. From throwing him out in the cold and locking him out without his wand, to the bloody duels they had. Every bit of it, according to Julian was necessary to prove oneself to the school. Mordred did not believe any of it. Julian was his cousin, his brother in crime—and all of a sudden Julian’s wand was on his face. It was more than a stab on the back.

“Never again Julian. I shall never forget what you did.” He said to himself as he fought back tears.

He lost all of his “brothers” in the name of a stupid school called Durmstrang.

Aurora emerged from her dormitory with her hair gathered into a ponytail - she was not in a good mood today and she knew what was coming later so she hadn't cared enough to brush it. She had a quill in one hand and a bunch of manuscript paper in the other, covered with half finished melodies. She had intended to sit quietly by the fire and amend some of the dynamics in a couple of pieces she had written. Then she spotted Mordred...

He looked considerably more miserable than usual... And he had those stupid letters in his hands... Surely they weren't the problem? Just some bits of paper? Apparently. She walked over and sat across from him. "Are you alright?" she asked quietly, putting her music down and pulling her feet up onto the chair.

Mordred blinked trying his best to calm down himself. Nope. He’s not going to cry. Never.

He heard a familiar voice, and scrambled to keep the letters that were in front of him. Lengthy letters from dear old traitors. Half way he stopped fixing them and looked up to see Aurora. “Oh. Hey. Yeah. I’m okay.” He said as he brushed his eye with the back of his hand while clutching Julian’s letter. “I just had to burn this.” He said as he held the unread letter. “And these.” He continued pointing at more unread letters with his name on it.

He stared at the flame wondering if he should burn them now. He was pretty sure it was full of “I’m sorry.” I hope you understand” and whatnot. “Explanations full of crap.” He told himself. Somehow, he’s itching to open them and read every word. Most probably he’d reply to them-- sealed with a curse. He badly wanted to do that, but he knows he’ll get in trouble.

“What do you do when somebody betrays you, Aurora?” he asked, his eyes fixed on the flame, as he crumpled Julian’s letter tightly in his hands.

Oh right... Destroying them. Yeah. "Oh... Want a hand?" Or just moral support, she could do that too. "Not gonna read them first?" Because a lot of them were unopened. "Could be worth it..." Of only to prevent any regret about ignoring them. She looked at Mordred for a second, she's never seen him like this... moody and annoyed, yes, but not upset...

What do you do when somebody betrays you..? Aurora blinked. Nobody had betrayed her... She didn't know... But it brought thoughts of recent things back to her that she didn't want to think about right now.. "I... I don't know. I mean... I'm not usually the one being betrayed." Nope, this time it was all her fault... But was it really? Did it count as betrayal? It wasn't as if she'd actually done anything... flirting wasn't betrayal was it..? Was it..? "Why..? What happened?"

The common room. Theodore's future home for the next seven years.. He stood in the entrance for a few moments, and let's just say, he was NOT completely impressed.

First of all... the DUNGEONS?

What the heck was that about? For people telling him that Slytherins weren't evil, the fact that they were kept in the dungeons was completely contradicting to him. Sighing, he traipsed in front of the fire and plonked him self onto the ground.

He sprawled out his arms and legs and just laid there, contemplating life.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh." He said in relaxation.

The floor was cold.

João's smile got broader upon hearing she'd just transferred from anohter country as well. Emmanuelle. It was kind of obvious from the name.

"Then, welcome," he said, pausing a little. "I'm also a foreigner here. I'm from Brazil." He missed his country already, especially considering he barely had any friends here.

Anyways. No looking sad to her or something. That wasn't charming.

"May I?" he asked, indicating the seat next to her. Hopefully, she wasn't tired and wanted to go to bed now.

The blonde was feeling very bubbly and well just excited to be back! Wow she really missed a lot the past two years. Oh well that didn't matter now. "Hi" she paused realizing she didn't know this girls name. "Girl who I don't know...I didn't catch your name" she laughed.

This girl looked familiar...they had to be the same year, right? "Nice to meet you Angelina...wait are you a third year?" she asked. She had to be, Chelsea may not have been around much the first two years, but she never forgot a face.

Chelsea saw another familiar face "Hello Butterfly" she yelled to the girl and waved.


Chelsea bent down to pet Selena's crup...awh so cute! "Hello Head Girl" she smiled and waved. "Have a good summer?" she asked. Finally she was taking the time to met more people in her house, and everyone was so nice a great! They all seemed so bubbly like her. She really missed a lot, oh well he was gone now. So no worries! "By the way, I'm Chelsea" she introduced herself.

Zhenya frowned a bit, "No actually... I don't have a photo," she said, realising what a silly head she was. Honestly, you'd think she would have a photo of her siblings, but no? "Oh I didn't even think to take a photo of them! I'll have to send an Owl to my parents and see if they can send a photo," she said.

"Spain? Oh wow! What was it like there? I've never been there, but it sounds so lovely," she said. Angelina did some travelling and it sounded really cool! She ate a few more biscuits, and crossed her legs.

"Can you believe we are in our third year?" she asked.

“No thanks. I can manage.” he said as he picked one of the letters with his other hand and threw it in the fire. The fire slightly roared then flickered innocently as it burns the parchment. That wasn’t so hard.


He instantly regretted doing that. It was Fabian’s letter. He was sure of it since it was thick. “That letter was from Fabian.” He said pointing at it. “The same cousin who helped me get the Egyptian tome I gave you.” He said as watched the remaining parchment turn to ash. He bit his lip and bowed his head. He got along so well with them. And just for a school, he was tortured by his own cousins. Who does that?

He wished his memories of them would turn to ash soon just like that parchment.

No one has ever betrayed Aurora? Wow. “You’re lucky.” He said looking up and gave her a weak smirk which disappeared immediately as he turned his gaze toward the flame. Fabian’s letter was gone. He sat up straight and placed Julian’s crumpled letter on the floor. He eyed the squashed wax that seals the letter and looked away. “I was betrayed by my own cousins back at Durmstrang.” he said in a flat tone as if it was nothing. “You know I am an only child, right? It’s kind of logical that I get along with them well, since they are like my brothers already.” He let out a sigh, and rummaged in his pocket for some chocolate frog. “Let’s just say they exchanged their own cousin for some bit of entertainment and reputation.” He got a box of chocolate frog out of his pocket and started to open it. “Promise me you wouldn’t do that to your cousins or to anyone no matter what.” Well, what comes around goes around.




As he opened the box of chocolate frog he was surprised to see Ptolemy’s face staring back at him. For a few seconds his thoughts about his cousins were forgotten and stared back at the card. “Finally! Hellooo Ptolemy.” he exclaimed and grabbed the card, and totally forgot about the Chocolate Frog that he was about to eat. As Mordred examines the card, the chocolate frog leaped out of its box.

Mordred searched for the chocolate with his hand as he continued to read the card. To his dismay it was gone. He looked at the empty box with a puzzled face. “Where did it...?” his voice trailed off and saw a boy in his first year sprawled on the floor, with the chocolate frog on his face. Pssh. It was his last piece.


Bummer.

Hmmmm... Yea, Theo was very tired. He closed his eyes and decided that he would 100% take a nap on this cold floor. There wasn't any ROOM anywhere else. And he was too afraid to go up to the dorms alone.

What if no one was up there? There could be a dark wizard under his bed....

Stupid thoughts. Anyway... he starting to day dream about himself completely acing the upcoming Quidditch tryouts. JOFDWJOFODFDS. Something just jumped on his face.

Jumped and SPLATTED.

Theodore shot up like a bullet and held his cheeks. It was.... POO? No, it smelled very much like chocolate. A chocolate frog, to be exact. He looked around for the evil mastermind behind this attack, until he saw a boy with a wrapper.

"YOOOOOOOOOOOOU." He stood up and pointed.

"YOU JUST THREW A CHOCOLATE FROG AT MY FACE."

NOT ACCEPTABLE.

This boy is a psycho.

Mordred sighed and shook his head. “Why will I throw a chocolate frog at your face, when my tummy wanted it?” he asked in a tired tone. He was not going to argue with an eleven year old. Who is this boy anyway, talking to an older student like that. And pointing a finger at him too!

He stared at the boy, trying to remember where he saw him. “Wait a minute. You’re that boy who threw a chocolate frog at a fellow first year.” He gave him a mischievous smile and a nod.

“That was really a good hit.” He murmured and cleared his throat. “What comes around goes around.” He eyed Aurora.

“What’s your name?” he asked the boy as he toyed with the Ptolemy card. Another card up his bedroom wall.

The boy did not look afraid. DAMN IT. Although, Theo didn't completely blame him. He was eleven, and not a particular threat to an experienced Slytherin. Theodore sighed and put down his finger.

"Well... that's a very good question..." Why WOULD you waste a perfectly good frog? Theo sighed, and felt like he should apologize. SHOULD but...

HE SAW THAT? "You're not a prefect, are you?" He was pretty sure that he had been unseen by anyone with authority. Anyone who could take his points away. The eleven-year-old caught the older boy's smile, and he relaxed a bit.

"Thanks." He said effortlessly. What goes around comes around??? GRrrr, evil-eyes-at-chu.

"My name's Theodore. And I am sorry for shouting." Please do not beat him up. Or turn him in to the prefects. Scary prefects, ahhhhh. "What card did you get?" It was info he needed to know. If it were a good one, he'd have to bribe the boy with apples or summin.

Aurora nodded, that tome currently held pride of place on her shelves at home... "Did I tell you I used it..?" she asked, kind of off-hand, before listening to the next few things he said.

Oh... Aurora looked at the floor, kind of ashamed of herself... It sounded so awful. And she had been just as cruel... "I am lucky..." she said quietly, almost unable to get the words out. She didn't know what to say... "That's... Awful." she squeaked.

Promise me... "Oh..." Promise... She'd never been very good at promises. "I... Um... right." In the end she just nodded... she couldn't bring herself to promise because, however petty it had been in comparison to Mordred's predicament, she had been cruel. She had kept things from Kennedy and then been mad at him for not trusting her... but that was why she'd not said anything about... ARGH! Her brain was running overdrive and, even though she could find an excuse for everything, it kept coming up with more stuff to contend with.


And then... A chocolate frog jumped onto a boys face. Why was he lying on the floor..? Hehe.

Aurora grinned, "He didn't throw it, it jumped." she said, rooting in her pockets. "Hang on, I have a few." Yep, she'd brought them down to eat whilst she was composing but that hadn't exactly worked. Aha! She pulled a three chocolate frogs from her pocket and tossed one to Mordred. "Want one?" she asked the boy, offering it to him.

Then she chuckled, "He's not a prefect. But I know them." she said. "They won't have a go at you for that. But next time make sure nobody's looking." she added with a wink. She wasn't going to tell him not to break rules - that was no fun. It was not getting caught that was important. "I'm Aurora by the way."

The blonde walked near her second year friend "Have a good summer?" she asked. Chelsea looked around at all the Slytherins, everyone was excited to be back. Well why wouldn't they? Sure it was nice to have time off, but the blonde felt like this was more her home.

Mordred smiled as she mentioned that she used it. “Yes, you did-- shortly before I left Hogwarts. I believe somebody got hurt.” He said with a weak smile.

“Are you okay?” he said with a confused look. She looked like she was hiding something, given that Mordred’s ability to read people’s expression can be at par with a legilimens. Of course, he didn’t try to read her thoughts. It was way better if she’d talk to him about it.

“Well, more bad news. I just got a letter from Father telling me that the traitors will spend their Christmas Holidays back at the Manor.” He said as he shook his head. Pretty much he doesn’t have a choice. He has to stick it out until he gets back in school. He’s got three months to prepare for it. “Not just that...” he continued. “It seems my Father is even siding with them. Telling me to give them the chance to explain, blah blah blah.” He said as he looked at the prized chocolate frog card. “I say, they don’t need to explain. And they better be banished from the family tree.” He said in disgust. And caught the candy that was tossed to him.




Mordred watched the boy as he put down his finger. "You're cool." He gave him a small smirk. “And trainable too.” He thought. “But don’t go pointing at people. Really, they can get back at you by pointing a wand. You don’t want that.” He continued.

The boy’s face was still smeared with the melted chocolate. “You need to clean your face. You look ridiculous.” He said as he pointed at the smear. He can almost tell he’s going to lick it off his face.

Ah, kids.

“Prefect? No.” He said coolly and lied down on the cold floor. “And I don’t want to be one.” He said as he made himself comfortable. He was about to close his eyes when the boy introduced himself. A smirk was on his face as he replied. “I’m Mordred.” He said in reply. “And about the shouting, it’s all good. Just play it cool next time.” He said and winked at him. Oh the joy of being the older kid.

He held the card up so Theo could see. “Ptolemy.” He said as he turned the card with his hand. “Collect these?”
