Entering the common room through the same corridor as the kitchens the kitchens, you will find a pile of large barrels stacked in the shadowy stone recess to your right. The second barrel from the bottom, middle of the second row, will open when tapped to the enunciation of 'Helga Hufflepuff'. (*Note: non-Hufflepuffs who tap the wrong barrel, or the incorrect number of times, will result in one of the lids bursting off and dousing the trespasser in vinegar)
Following a sloping, earthy passage inside the barrel, which will then travel upwards slightly, a cozy, round, low-ceilinged room comes into view. Welcome! Your common room is like your sanctuary. During your seven years here, your house will be like your family. The room is decorated in the cheerful house colors of yellow and black, enhanced by the use of highly polished honey-colored wood for the tables and then round doors which lead to the boys' and girls' dormitories.
Directly over the wooden mantelpiece, which is covered with carvings of decorative dancing badgers, is a portrait of Helga Hufflepuff, your house founder and one of the four Hogwarts founders, toasting her students with a tiny, two-handled golden cup. There are small, round windows level with the ground at the foot of the castle, showing a pleasant view of grass and flowers, occasionally people. As a result of the low windows, the room has a year-round sunny feel to it.

There was something about the way Oakey hesitated that made her think that he was hiding something from her. probably the reason why he couldn't sleep. She wanted to ask him, but chickened out, worried he'd ask about her dream too.
The awkward moment from before..dragged on now turning into awkward silence. Not too good, it was weird and all Ness wanted to do was hide under a rock or at least undo what she had just done. It calmed her a little, that Oakey hadn't said anything about it, that would have made matters ten times worse. The fact that he was blushing too wasn't helping though.
o___O
Why did Oakey keep he's wand there? ..The red head couldn't help but giggle, this though made her go even redder. Eeek! As much as she hated going all red, at least it gave some color to her pale, English skin. Anyways why had this boy taken he's wand out? Hoping he couldn't see her blushy cheeks she raised her brow at him. Thats when she heard him murmur the spell and that was when the blanket appeared out of nowhere. She wanted to protest, saying that she was fine and didn't need a blanket but she knew that wasn't true and another blanket would be amazing.
As he handed her the blanket, she pretended to watch the fire carefully just to avoid another awkward moment. "Th..thanks." Once it was on her lap, she immediatley covered herself with it and out of habit she sniffed the blanket. It smelled kinda nice, it smelled a bit like Angelo..but not exactly the same. Boys and there scents...it could really distract you. She was at least much warmer now, and her teeth clattering began to slower.
The next few words of Oakeys, had Ness all worried in an instance. She stopped looking at the fire and turned to him. She didn't care how awkward this was anymore, he wasn't having a good day and that didn't make her too happy. Without even thinking, she leaned over and gave him a hug, that ought to make him feel a bit better hadn't it? "Wanna talk about it?" she asked softley still hugging him.
It was moments after Oakey said today was the worst day that Renemsee latched onto him and hugged him tightly. Her blanket and his draped around him almost covering him as well.
He did not want to talk about it. Hell it wasn't even his problem it was his families! Would she even understand that he wasn't upset over the death of Harvey's sister but that the aftermath made him realize how insignificant he was as a Gunter. S-seven years ago today my Gaurdian's sister died. We still don't know the cause of death because she just disappeared. WAIT! why was he talking? He tried stopping but more came out. I-I don't feel bad at all about her death because I'm not related to them. I've only seen her twice since Harvey took me in.
He gritted his teeth to keep the tears from falling down his face, but that only helped them come out quicker. He tried moving his hands up to his face to wipe them away be Renesmee was still hugging him so now it only looked like he was struggling to break free from her. Instead he wrapped his arms around her inside of the blanket. I hate that I'm not not a Gunter, and I hate the idea of being a Pewtering. I just want to be a part of something that's mine. He let the tears flow down his face. He hadn't cried this hard since Harvey Suffered the life changing injury. Merlin, crying was stupid. If Renesmee hadn't hugged him he might not of let loose like this.
Justin walked into the common room after classes.... He was exhausted and had hoped to sit in his favourite overstuffed chair. And maybe take a nap in front of the fireplace...
She gasped a bit, but he thought it was in a good way. This suspicion was confirmed when she smiled. He bent down and collected her papers, handing them back to her silently. She seemed excited at the flowers, which brought a grin to his face. Maybe this was the right time to ask after all! I mean, she seems in a good mood, I think I'll go for--
"Hey!" he yelled, more from surprise than from pain. "Do what again?" Surely she wasn't upset about the flowers...? His eyes grew wide as his brain struggled to comprehend the mysterious ways of girls. "Worried about me..?" So why did that require hitting? Was she mad that she cared for his well being? I mean, that's only common courtesy to not wish spattergroit on someone, right?
The flowers are pretty...? They were back on that. Did that mean she was done being upset? He just stared at her. He had no idea what had just happened. It felt like they had traveled a long way in the space of two minutes or less. First happy, then hitting, now grateful? He was lost.
"You're welcome," he managed to stammer. There was one thing he was certain of, and that was that he was lost. He had entered into the conversation thinking he was going to ask her, but she had completely thrown him off and now he had lost his nerve.
Okay, so, she might have been a little harsh on him. It would have been best if she started with questions, like, how he was feeling or whatever was similar to that. Come to think of it, that was something still unsaid.
"Leaving me in charge of the team," she said with a tone suggesting deep sorrow, blue eyes on him, "And I didn't win either," 'I', because there's no 'I' in 'team', correct? So, yes, Keefer, she was upset about it, but not so much anymore. So, they lost, whatever, they get to play again. And that was the important part of it all. Playing.
Wait.
What-What did she say? She told him she was worried about him? Yeah, that wasn't meant to be said out loud. Immediate blush. "Yeah, I...," the most unexpected pause happened, she didn't exactly know what to say, "...you were sick, so I was worried. That's what people do, no? When someone they care about is sick...they worry." They probably don't miss them. But at least that was kept from him.
He was...well, Kate didn't know how Keefer was, actually. But he looked extremely confused right about now. She kind of guessed what it was about. "The...'hitting'...was for the game, for not being there. It was...a little bit stressful...," and she wasn't one who got stressed, "...you weren't the only one who got sick, or was in detention, or decided not to play." Keefer knew this, right? How Lewis had to come to the rescue and all. Surely he's heard by now.
Her eyes were momentarily on the flowers. They were pretty. Too bad Quidditch had to ruin the moment.

Well, at least she was going to explain herself now. It was the least she could do, really, after assaulting whacking him. He wasn't 100% better yet, still sort of weak and a bit green around the gills, so to speak.
Something clicked into place as she spoke. "Oh, right. I'm with you now." Or at least as far as he could tell. He blinked twice. "I'm sorry, I really am," he said, taking her hand in his so she knew he was serious. He tried not to let the color rise in his cheeks. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean for you to have to deal with so much. But no one blames you, especially me. I'm sure you did great out there," he finished with a smile, regretfully pulling his hand away.
Yes, that is what people do when someone they care about is sick. But for a reason Keefer wouldn't dare say aloud, this revelation still made him incredibly content. She had just admitted she cared about him, and that was worth a Quidditch victory any day in his book. Wait, seriously? As good as a Quidditch victory? He was in way over his head here. As soon as they were done talking, he was headed straight to the Owlery. He should've done it sooner, but there was no way Healer Tillstorm would've let him out of bed. Somehow he managed to nod in agreement without appearing distracted, for which he was abundantly thankful.
"Oh, that's all?" He half expected something far worse, like inadvertently breaking the Code of Conduct for How to Behave Around Girls. He let out a sigh of relief. "Yeah, I understand all about stressful matches, trust me." Like the Championship last term, as a first year Captain with a first year Seeker. Talk about nerves. "And that's why I thought you deserved the flowers," he explained, trying to bring the conversation back to a happier subject.
Nate walked into the common room. He quickly spotted Oakey, his most bestest friend in the world. Though he still needed to scare him...again. So he went around by the couches. Hiding behind each one. Then he walked behind Oakey and said "Hey Oakey!"

Oakey was sitting by the fire reading one of his books for his DADA project. He could have gone to the study tables and read there but wanted to sit by the fire again like he did earlier today (or was it last night?) with Renesmee.
He turned the page then heard something move behind him. He turned his head but there was nobody there. Shrugging his shoulders he continued reading his book on Yeti's. He sat and read for maybe another five minutes when suddenly Nate popped up from behind him and scared him! Oakey almost lost his book in the fire but grabbed it just in time. Nate! Oakey said half angry and half startled, Oakey still wasn't himself, plus he was terribly tired now. Stop surprising me like that! I almost lost this book in the fire.
Really! Nate was becoming really good with stealth. He picked himself up from the floor and headed to the Boy's Dorm. He liked Nate, he was a good friend, but Oakey didn't want to deal with his shenanigans today.
It was moments after Oakey said today was the worst day that Renemsee latched onto him and hugged him tightly. Her blanket and his draped around him almost covering him as well.

Trying to be as much of a good friend as she could, she listened to him carefully. It seemed okay for him to be upset, seeing as it was about a death after all. She was a hundred times worse then him when it came to these things, when her bestie had died it took her almost two years to get over it.
The next few words had her in a bit of shock. He didn't feel bad at all? That was madness, before she could even comment on that, he continued to talk some more. Now it made sense to her, of course if he wouldn't feel bad if he barely even knew the women. "Its alright, not to feel bad." She said a little unsure of anything else to say.
What was Oakey doing now? Nessie felt him struggle, or that's what she thought it was. Maybe he didn't want to be hugged, maybe he thought it was weird. Though just as she began pulling back, she felt he's arms wrap around her back underneath the blankets. He's hands were gentle and they felt sort of nice to be in, but she couldn't compare them to Angelo's. "Um.." She wasn't too sure what to say. She wasn't good when it came to family matters, her family exactly the close, warm kind of family. "um..but you are a Gunter." The words were slowly coming to her. "Just because you were born a Pewtering it doesn't mean that you have to be one now. Um..and you were brought up as a Gunter surely that would make you one. " Hopefully what she was saying was making sense and hopefully it would help him feel better.
Eeeek! Tears..not good. The red head, couldn't exactly see that Oakey was crying, but she was convinced he was. She could tell by the way he's voice sounded before and now she could even feel a the blanket by her neck go a tiny bit damp. "It'll be okay." she said as she stroked he's back a bit. This comforting wasn't easy, in fact it was just a tad awkward, yet she knew he needed it.

Amazing.
It was smart of her to take her time to explain, apparently, otherwise he would've understood nothing. But he followed her explanation nicely. The fact that he held her hand for a little while was an unexpected but great surprise. Truth be told, this hadn't been his fault, at all, so there was no actual need for an apology. She was smiling, though, because Kate was finding his apology much-too-necessary, "It's okay, Keefer," she forgives him, okay? Even when there was hardly anything he needed to be forgiven for. "I would've done better if I'd played Chaser, though."HINT. Her tone was not one of regret, although she'd rather he'd kept her hand in his.
And he agreed. Well, everyone would agree, because she was right.
What... exactly went through his mind? Kate smiled when he asked if that was all. It was. And that smile could only widen when he pretty much knew what she meant. "Of course, you were Captain last year," whereas the girl with the golden hair (thanks to the fire) had only experienced that ONCE, so basically, this was her first time trying to fulfill a position that wasn't precisely hers. She did alright, didn't she?
BEAM. "That's very sweet of you," she said, kissing his cheek for good measure. Why, of course, she was referring to the flowers.
Making sure no other paper was on the floor, she took her former seat, "Join me," this time her hand took his, and her eyes simply stated that he should do as told, in a very nice way. "How are you feeling?" He was completely okay, right?

Now that all of her supplies were situated in the common room, the second year got to work setting them up so that the message would be displayed. First she started placing the vases on the floor, organizing them so that if you stood above them, they created the letters for her message. Next, Ella took the roses from the basket and placed a few in each vase, making sure to place them carefully so as not to mess up the vase setup. Once this was done, Ella got to working with the branches, using the bendy ones to create the last, and most important, part of her message. The whole process took quite a long time though when she was done, the little blonde was quite proud of her work. Hopefully Professor Bentley would be too.
So this was good, yeah? Jordon seemed unfazed by the blushing that the second year was doing which made her feel a little less embarrassed about the whole situation. She really needed to learn how to take a complement! She was smiling again as he told her he didn't mind. That was good and meant that they could hang out and play together and perhaps she'd get even better. Ella liked that idea. "You're right, today is an inside kind of day. Plus, the common room is just so cozy." She said, placing her hands up so they could feel the warmth from the flames. As for Jordon's next question. "I usually practice by the lake or the whomping willow. Both are pretty good spots to play."
Jordon smiled, he had noticed her small bit of blushing, but thought it would be rude to point it out by laughing or something. "It's a perfect inside day. For being inside, that is." He held is hands closer to the fire. "I usually practice at the lake as well. It's peaceful. Most of the time. I've never been to the whomping willow before though." The whole Idea of a tree that could kill you wasn't exactly someting that Jordon found the need to see.

Oakey's tears were finally coming to a stop. Either from his sheer will to not cry or his tear ducts had dried out, it was hard to tell. He pulled away from Renesmee and was finally able to rub his eyes. I'm sorry he said I hadn't meant to crack down like that.
He looked away from here and back at the fire but continued to talk. I wasn't born a Pewtering, they adopted me thank Merlin for that mercy! He corrected her, but then realized how ungrateful he sounded. I-uh-I mean thank you Renesmee. What you said really means a lot to me...it does
She was right. Just because he wasn't Gunter by birth doesn't change the face that the Gunter's love, care and shaped him into who he is today. He put his hand back down to Charmer and stroked him some more. His cat was pleased that Oakey was back and softly petting his fur, his purrs were evidence of that.
Are you feeling any warmer? He asked her as kindly as he could.

Minerva came down from the dorm room. She was red nosed and puffy eyes. She had gotten sick. She hated being sick, but she couldn't take her bed any longer. She hadn't seen Maxwell in days and it was horrible. She hated every minute of it. She found a seat in her favorite chair and pulled her hockey blanket over top of her. She pulled her book out and began to try and read. Sniffling and chilling she pulled the blanket closer around her.

Justin walked into the common room and nearly sat on poor Minerva who was shivering and sniffling in their favourite chair... " Oi, Min... What's the matter? Want me to get you some soup or somethin'? " he asked her as he knelt next to her and felt her forehead with the back of his hand... " How long you been sick?..." Justin said in a tone that suggested he was mother henning her.

Minerva looked up from her book and sighed, "No, I'm not hungry." she hadn't really ate in a day or so. "I started not feeling well a few days ago and it just seems to have gotten worse. She shivered away from his hand. She knew she was burning up, but it would pass. She hated being sick, it was the worst. She was hurting all over and to move to look at him was so much work.

'Justin you don't have to." But it was no use he had already gone. She tucked herself into her blanket and rested her head. He was back before she knew it with the broth, but she turned her head away from it. "Just that smells horrible, please I don't want to eat." She felt her stomach turn and tried to hold back the feeling of being sick. "Hey have you seen Maxwell lately?" she was hoping someone got to talk with him.

She shivered again, "You probably shouldn't be so close to me Justin. I don't want you sick as well." She know she shouldn't have come down to the common room, but she was so tired of her bed. Plus she was hoping to see Justin or Damon to help her with something. "Justin, if I gave you a few things would you give them to Maxwell?" She shivered again and coughed into her blanket.

Minerva got up and slipped back on the chair, she was weak from being sick. She grumbled from the weakness and forced herself back up to get her back. Getting her bag she pulled out a little bag. In the bag was two items a picture and badger , it also had a note in it for Maxwell.
SPOILER!!:
Maxwell,
I am sorry I'm so sick. I wish I could see you. I know you have been having trouble sleeping since we have been back, and don't say you haven't. I have placed two items in the bag that might help you a bit better. There is a picture of me that I was planning on giving you has a present, I know it's dumb, but whatever. The charmed badger is sparkles, I have had him since first term when we hatched the charmed eggs in Charms class. He is my good luck charm and I take him everywhere. Keep him until I get better and I hope they help you get through the nightmares.
Love you,
Min

Ella smiled, appreciative of the fact that Jordon ignored her blush. So he practiced at the lake too, huh? "It is peaceful...depending on the time I guess. I usually go sit by one of the trees down there, sometimes nap there too when it's warm." She actually napped all over the grounds but that fact was one she kept to herself.
The second year's eyes grew wide with surprise when she heard Jordon had never been to the willow. "You haven't? Well you've got to go sometime. It's quite fascinating to watch, the willow I mean." She said with a smile. The way the angry branches writhed and shook was crazy. "You do have to stay a safe distance away though." She added with a shrug.

A small sigh of relief escaped his lips as she said it was okay. That meant she wasn't mad. And a woman's wrath is scary to behold, he thought to himself, a reminder his mother often repeated to him. And that smile was still firmly in place on her face, so she wasn't just saying that to make him feel better, either. Point taken. Chaser. "Though I'm not really sure who else I'd get to Seek, honestly. If no one else is looking in good form, I may have to do it." And that was not what he wanted. He'd never played the position either, you know. She at least had a game under her belt. "But yeah, I was. So I have experience with Captaincy, and now you have that as well-- plus Seeking."
He gazed at her wavy locks, mesmerized by the way the flames made it look like molten gold, little drops happily bubbling across the surface. It reminded him of Felix Felicis. Liquid luck.. And almost as if he really had taken a capful, she chose that precise moment to give him a peck on the cheek. The skin around the area became beet red. The color spread up to his forehead and clashed with his hair as she took his hand and guided him to the seat next to her. His heart began thumping a hundred beats per minute, and his original goal for the conversation came flooding back to his mind. Treyen! he thought, desperately wishing for some advice on how to proceed.

Keefer was not going to convince her, she knew what she did best, and seeking wasn't something that might help the team. Nor her. There were pretty good people on the team, though. Sadly, Lewis didn't count, but that would've been her first choice. "There's that Alex guy," he could seek, if he was available to play the next time they had to be on the Pitch, that is. "But you ought to know better," she nodded, light reflected on her hair. He knew better, though, he was the Captain.
Again. No. He wouldn't convince her of doing this again.
Now it was the time to become all worried again, no? He... wasn't talking, even worse, he failed to answer the one question she asked him, which brought her to think that he wasn't okay at all, "You didn't answer. Are you feeling okay?" he was all red, and once her fingers oh-so-softly touched his forehead... she noticed he was also incredibly warm. The kiss! On his cheek! He blushed right after that, so... Kate simply smiled a little to herself not without getting a hint of blush on her own cheeks and leaned against the couch, "You look better than Vindictus did on the Pitch, you must be fine." Speaking of...
...Vindictus.
The man was fine, right? Otherwise they would've heard the bad news.

He didn't think he was going to convince her, which was a shame. Although, he hadn't actually seen her play, so maybe she wasn't that great after all? He didn't really have a great way to verify, so he would just have to trust her judgment. Alex guy... Alex.. Who is she talking about? He wasn't about to reveal his ignorance to her, so he just nodded and said, "You think?" He suppressed a snort. "Yes, OUGHT to know better. Not necessarily DOES know better." Which was, in essence, the source of his insecurities.
She seemed to interpret his lack of talking as a bad sign. In reality, he had been too distracted to pay any attention to her question. "Oh, yeah, sorry.. I'm fine. Really," he added, to emphasize that he wasn't just saying that to make her feel better. More color rose in his face as her fingers brushed against his forehead. He hoped she wouldn't realize why he was red, because then he would start looking like a cherry from embarrassment. He was glad when she didn't pursue the topic. "Yeah, I heard he collapsed or something. What happened?"
He hadn't heard anything since the day of the match. Hopefully no news was good news.

There it was again. He actually knew better than the rest of the players, yet the way he said clearly suggested he didn't think so. "Well, you see us differently, so... you do know better," because he needed to see what was the best of each and every single one of the players in the team, while the others, Kate included, simply played. And sure, she often took notice of how others played, which is why she had a feeling that Alex would be tons better than her. Or just better.
Mmmhmm. Well, yes, Kate knew he was alright now. But her smile still grew wider when he answered. "Good." Definitely good. She said nothing else. No need to make him blush even more, right?
Vindictus. The super awesome old Vindictus. She still couldn't believe he'd come to teach kids to fly and be an official in Hogwarts. Really. Though, she supposed there was no better teacher. At Keefer's question, her smile was diminished a little and her head went to rest on his shoulder. "I honestly don't know. I'm afraid I know as much as you do," especially since she went towards West instead of the Quidditch legend. Not to mention they were asked to leave the Pitch. "I was congratulating the Slytherin Captain when he fell," but he was seriously old, it was probably something to do with old age.
