Entering the common room through the same corridor as the kitchens the kitchens, you will find a pile of large barrels stacked in the shadowy stone recess to your right. The second barrel from the bottom, middle of the second row, will open when tapped to the enunciation of 'Helga Hufflepuff'. (*Note: non-Hufflepuffs who tap the wrong barrel, or the incorrect number of times, will result in one of the lids bursting off and dousing the trespasser in vinegar)

Following a sloping, earthy passage inside the barrel, which will then travel upwards slightly, a cozy, round, low-ceilinged room comes into view. Welcome! Your common room is like your sanctuary. During your seven years here, your house will be like your family. The room is decorated in the cheerful house colors of yellow and black, enhanced by the use of highly polished honey-colored wood for the tables and then round doors which lead to the boys' and girls' dormitories.

Directly over the wooden mantelpiece, which is covered with carvings of decorative dancing badgers, is a portrait of Helga Hufflepuff, your house founder and one of the four Hogwarts founders, toasting her students with a tiny, two-handled golden cup. There are small, round windows level with the ground at the foot of the castle, showing a pleasant view of grass and flowers, occasionally people. As a result of the low windows, the room has a year-round sunny feel to it.

He smiled at her, then slightly surprised by the hug he did flinch slightly, "Thanks, I've missed you too... I'm sure it will be, like I said, just one more."

Minerva felt him flinch and quickly let go. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..." she looked away and felt her self give him some space. She thought they were past that, but she must have been wrong. Maybe when they began their troubles he put guards back up and now she would have to work them back down. That made her so sad, but she tried not to show it.

"Damon it's ok, you don't have to explain. I shouldn't have just hugged you like that anyway." She still wasn't looking at him for being still a bit embarrassed of her actions. She wasn't sure what else to say to make it up to him. "So you and Taylor seem to being doing well. I know your not dating, so don't get upset, but it just seems like you are enjoying each other."

Minerva chuckled and looked up into his eyes. "Maxwell would have never done anything to you like that. You can't blame him though, it was his girlfriend a the time. I think..maybe for me he might try to play nice if you think you could play nice around him. What do you think? If he was willing could you try not to irritate him when we are all near each other?"

Minerva smiled and placed her hand on his again. She didn't know why, but she did. "Damon you are my friend and he is my boyfriend. I need you two to get along like he does with Justin and Harvey. If he is not jealous of them he can do it with you. I know he will do it for me. I know you say he trusted Taylor and part of me says yes he did, but I don't think he loved her the way he loves me. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think he would do this for me. So if you will do it for me, then let's try to make this work."

Minerva took her hand off of his and smiled "Well I want to try. I want to keep us all friends, so please just try." She gave a pouting face hoping it would work. She really did want them to be friends.

Minerva crossed her arms and glared at Damon. "All I'm hearing is excuses on why you can't try. You don't even know if he will yet. So if you don't want to try just tell me and I will stop wasting my time." She was at least trying to come up with ideas, if he had any it would be nice to hear them, but he wasn't so if he just wanted to not be friends he needed to speak up she thought.

Minerva smiled and got up, "Thank you Damon, that's all I'm asking is to try. I want to be friends again and I want all of us to get along. There is no reason for us not to." She was hopeful this could happen, it had to happen. Maxwell was family with Damon and Taylor, and they were going to be seeing them whether at school or not.

She got a huge smile on her face one she hadn't had towards Damon in months. She didn't care if he flinched and she jumped hugging him again. "Thank you Damon, thank you. You will see this will work and then I can have my friends and Maxwell. It will work." She then pulled from the hug, "Guess what.. I never got a chance to tell you, I made the quidditch team. Our first match is next week. Please tell me your going to come, you promised you would try."

So this was good, yeah? Jordon seemed unfazed by the blushing that the second year was doing which made her feel a little less embarrassed about the whole situation. She really needed to learn how to take a complement! She was smiling again as he told her he didn't mind. That was good and meant that they could hang out and play together and perhaps she'd get even better. Ella liked that idea. "You're right, today is an inside kind of day. Plus, the common room is just so cozy." She said, placing her hands up so they could feel the warmth from the flames. As for Jordon's next question. "I usually practice by the lake or the whomping willow. Both are pretty good spots to play."

Minerva smiled at the fact he said he would be there. It was nice having her friend back. She could have her boyfriend and her friend that made for a great day. "It's okay as long as your there that is all that counts and I could help you next time Tay plays as long as it's not against us." She would be happy to try and help teach him Quidditch if he wanted her help.

Minerva smiled, "Don't worry, maybe if we could find some extra time we could go to the pitch. I could just walk you through position and the game. We could fly a bit, from what I saw at class it wouldn't hurt to get a little better for her, don't you think." She was hoping teasing him a little would be okay. She laughed a him when he was being silly, "It's okay I like seeing this side of you. I'm glad you are finally looking happy again." She really was happy for him, she knew she had talked bad about in a few times and his ways with Taylor, but it was mostly out of frustration and hurt feelings. "Well cheer for your house, but cheer for Taylor as an individual. That's what I always do when our house is playing one of my friends."
