Alyssa walked onto the pitch glad to be on it again. This was like a second home to her besides the castle. She saw Professor Vindictus standing between 2 rows of brooms, and so she walked up to him and greeted him.

"Hello Professor Vindictus. I hope that you had a wonderful Summer." Alyssa smiled before standing somewhere near him but too near.

Taylor was feeling better and was actually smiling. She longed to go fly again. Tay waved to Alyssa, "Hey." Then smiled and nodded at the professor, her head of house. "Hello Professor Vindictus!" Tay had gone to the kitchen earlier that day and had made some brownies for the professor, which she held out to him. "I hope you dont mind but i made you brownies." Taylor smiled at him. She actually liked her head of house though she never actually had a conversation with him...

Nigel walked into the pitch, glad to brush up on his basics after Quidditch tryouts. The idea of flying was appealing to Nigel because there was nobody but him on a broomstick. He then remembered that he should go say hi to the professor since he was the claws head of house.

He saw Professor Vindictus, the head of his house, between some broomsticks. He started to walk over there thinking about how to greet him. "Hello Professor Vindictus, nice to meet you. When do we start flying?"

Alyssa heard someone hey and turned to see Taylor waving at her. "Hey back!" Alyssa waved back before waiting to see whether any of her own House mates would show up for class.

Oichi walked out to the pitch for her first flying lesson with a bright smile on her face. She was so glad this day had finally come and thankfully before Gryffindor quiddich tryouts. Her mom had told her a lot about flying and now she was finally gonna try it. She arrived at the pitch and saw her fellow classmates and the professor, "Good day professor, I am looking foward to a great flying lesson", Oichi said with a smile and then waited patiently with her fellow classmates for the lesson to start.

Ella walked out on to the pitch, a wide smile on her face. To say she was excited for this lesson was an understatement. "Hi Professor!" She greeted cheerfully. Then the second year walked over to where Alyssa and Taylor were standing. She smiled at them as she waited for the lesson to begin.

Sure it was a lesson on flying basics and sure he was an experienced flyer both with quidditch and in general. But Gideon figured it wouldn't hurt to come to the class anyway. Who knew when an older student might be need to help a younger student and assistance was in the job description of prefect after all...at least he thought he remembered it somewhere. Not to mention flying was flying and he was itching for some air time.

So there he was strolling out onto the grounds and towards the practice pitch for the class."Good day Professor Vindictus," he greeted with a polite nod.

Vindictus nodded at those who arrived and greeted him. "Welcome to the first Flying Lesson of the school year. Everyone, please find a broom and stand to the right of it," he said and began to wonder where the rest of the Ravenclaws were.

Tay turned and stood by a broom.. to the right of it, of course. Yes the lesson might be a bit boring since she knew how to fly but it was an excuse to fly, wasnt it? She sighed slightly.

Alyssa quickly did as the Professor instructed. She selected a broom and then went back to where she was standing and stood on the right side of her broom. She then waited for the Professor to give further instructions.

And then Professor Vindictus gave them their first set of instructions. Sigh. Slowly, Kurumi made her way over to a broom and stood to the right of it, just as instructed. Kurumi found that she was actually hoping for another lesson involving flying squirrels...or some other CUTE magical creature that flew. Oh! Maybe a bunch of baby dragons! That could be fun. Assuming baby dragons could fly that is.

Ella selected a broom and walked over to the right of it. She couldn't help but bounce a bit, her anticipation growing as she waited for the next instructions. All the second year wanted to do was get into the air. There was nothing like the feeling of flying.

Nigel walked over to where all the brooms were. Now which broom did Nigel want to pick. It had to awesome enough that to would be able to hold Nigel on it of course. But which one. He finally decided on a broom that looked sturdy and reliable enough and would be able to hold him. He brought over to where he was standing and stood to the right of it just like Professor Vindictus said to do.

Minerva walked over and found a broom. She thought about why she didn't bring her own broom with her. That was a dumb thing not to bring, she wasn't a first year so she was allowed to have it, but it was sitting in her dorm room. Oh well she thought as she stepped to the right of the broom. She was excited to start a new flying lessons class, she could use the practice. She had come along way since first year, but could always do better.

Finally Penelope was going to be able to fly on a broom. It was one of the things she had been looking forward to. It just sounded like it would be lots of fun, unlike some other classes.

Choosing a broom at random, she walked over to the right side of it...and waited.

Oichi did as the professor asked and walked over to a broom and stood to the right of it. She could not wait to take the air but she knew it was better to wait and follow every instruction of the professor to ensure a safe first flight.

Carrying the usual start of the term box-of-cookies-for-Professor-Vindictus in her hands, Kurumi made her way down to the pitch not exactly sure why she was heading down here minus the whole Selina threatening her with her Beater's bat if Kurumi refused to attend flying lessons. Upon arrival, Kurumi smiled nervously at all the students present before making her way right up to Professor Vindictus and handing him the box of golden snitch cookies.

"Good day, professor," she said with a nervous smile as she glanced at the brooms. She could just deliver the cookies and leave, but then Selina would most likely hunt her down and...well...seeing as the redhead knew where Kurumi slept... "I hope it is alright if I attend. I can just be an extra set of eyes in the air."

You know, for all those first years who liked to hover somewhere around 10 feet off the ground.

And then Professor Vindictus gave them their first set of instructions. Sigh. Slowly, Kurumi made her way over to a broom and stood to the right of it, just as instructed. At least he wasn't the only older student/prefect that had come, though Gideon had to admit he was surprised by Kurumi's presence. It had to be the response to something Selina had either said or done or a matter of both. Whatever the reason, he gave a smile to his fellow sixth year before focusing his attention back to Vindictus as he began class. The Gryffindor following the man's instructions and obediantly moving to the right of a unclaimed broom as directed and awaited the next step to whatever the were to do.

Although Zhenya knew how to fly, she wanted to make sure she knew the basics because she never attended a Basic flying lesson class in her first... or second year! She wanted to be on the House team again, and since they lost last year she wanted to make sure her flying was up to scratch..

"Hello," she said to Professor Vindictus, and stood to the right of one of the school brooms. She still didn't have her own broom yet!

Vindictus took the cookies from Kurumi. "Thank you, Kurumi. These look absolutely delicious," he replied and took one out of the box. He then resumed barking out instructions. "Place your right hand over the broom and in a firm, commanding voice say 'Up!' For those who are new to flying, this should take several tries."

He began nibbling on the cookie as he watched the students perform the task.

Tay placed her hand over the broom, "Up." She had done this for the past three years so it came up easily. Taylor longed to just get on it and fly but knew better than to get ahead of the professor, least he get mad and deduvt points from his own house...

Minerva listened to the instructions from Professor Vindictus. He seemed to be in an okay mood today, but still being a bit harsh with his orders. She remembered her first lesson with him and how he scared her. She put her right hand over her broom and said "up" the broom came right to her hand. She looked over at Vindictus for their next instruction.

Ella held her right hand out in front of her, letting it hover over the broom she would be using. With her eyes focused on the broom, she cleared her throat and said, "Up!" The second year was pleasantly surprised when the broom flew up, her hand grabbing it out of the air with ease. "Wicked." She had been practicing this with the broom she had bought over the summer and it was good to see that her hard work had paid off.

Alyssa watched as the Professor nibbled on the cookies that Kurumi had given him and she basically drooled. She loved Kurumi's cookies. She reminded herself to ask Kurumi whether she could have some later.

But for now, back to lesson proper. She raised her right hand and placing it over the broom said,"UP!"

Immediately her broom flew up into the palm of her right hand and she gripped hold of it.

Bowing her head politely, Kurumi returned her attention to the broom on the ground and could feel her skin getting all itchy already. Maybe by the end of her seventh year she wouldn't have the desire to break out into a rash whenever she saw a broom. No, that wasn't true. She had been perfectly fine in Charms because they had been using the brooms to clean....which is what brooms were meant to be used for in the first place.

Swallowing, Kurumi held her hand out over her broom and sighed. Maybe her broom would be nice and decide that today it just didn't want to be flown on? Nap time? The grass did look mighty comfortable. "Up," she commanded. The broom instantly lifted up off the ground and came to a stop in her hand.

How inconsiderate of it.
