It was a long walk down from the Divination Tower to the lawns that sprawled out infront of Hogwarts Caslte and hopefully you didn't let your shaws drag or trip over your skirts. Professor Elwood is already waiting for you when you arrive, she too has dressed up as a stereotypical forune teller complete with about 5 shaws, a purple turban and about 10 pounds of necklaces.
When you arrive please line up close to her and wait for instructions.
OCC: Be sure you have posted in this thread before coming here.
** The thread will remain open so that you can continue to work on your carts and I've decided to keep it open until Noon (12pm EST) on Saturday, May 12th.
Mika almost felt like screaming and hiding when she saw the Slytherin Prefect boy. He was after all the one who recognized her as the cauldron cake launcher during the feast.
Maybe projectiles wasn't the best idea? Yeah.
No it wasn't the best but it was fun.
Walls to the floorboards - that sounded smart. She just looked BIG-eyed at he boy as he was helping her out. She almost felt like SQUUEing when she realized he was being helpful. Helpful was good. Good. No it was GREAT!
Mika nearly jumped pointed her wand at the walls of the ALMOST wagon and cast the sticking charm. Now to see if the magic worked.
The place was getting a bit noisy and he wondered if his group mates heard his last request. Apparently, not. Meh. At least he had the Ravenclaw's attention. He had a feeling she remembered him from the Feast because he sure did.
Kennedy set the board down where she had done the sticking charm. For a minute it stood up and then...
IT WAS FALLING!
The boy quickly scrambled with his wand and then, "Wingardium Leviosa!" he said. And just in time before the board/wall fell down and squashed anyone in its way. "Okay, try it again. The spell is adhaero." She could do it.

"Ugh," she mumbled. "Well, I don't think we have much time to discuss what type of cart we should make. It looks like winners are already being announced," she said. They might not have much time left. "I think we should just start building the shape of a cart and see what we end up with." As long as it got them across the finish line and scored them the points, she didn't care what they ended up with.
Sierra watched the slightly younger girl work out a plan then stick two boards together. "Whatever works is good with me," she said. "We at least need a floor, four wheels, two walls, and a handle." As long as they had the required parts, the look of the wagon didn't matter to her. "So those pieces," she said, pointing to the two pieces the fourth year (aaetha) had fixed together, are what part?"
"What if we make that the floor?" she suggested, pointing to the pieces the girl had stuck together. "Then this could be the left wall." Sierra picked up two boards and lined them up side by side. "Adhaero!" she said, swishing her wand. The two pieces stuck together. Then she took them and lined them up just next to the piece she'd suggested be used as the floor. If this didn't work, they could always unstick it. "Adhaero!" she said again, and stuck her piece to Ariana's piece.
OOC: I'm not sure what part you were building there, but I went ahead and assumed it was the floor. So I just had her add the left wall. Maybe the next to post can add the right wall? Then we'd have floor, left wall, and right wall. If this worked, the cart now looks like this: L
"Oh," Sierra said, turning to face a girl she remembered from the Quidditch team. "Sorry, but I just joined a group of three, and we're only supposed to work in groups of two to four." The girl had someone else to work with though, so Sierra assumed she'd be good without them.
Nerida said No problem, thanks for joining us! She didnt really care what their cart looked like as long as it didnt fall apart on them! She said Thats a good idea! She picked up two of the other blocks and said We can make the right wall now.
She lined the two boards that she had picked up tried to line them side to side but had to redue this three times before she finally was succesful into lining them up! She said So now we need the wheels and the handle. How do we go about putting on the wheels, just gluing them on or making the holes like Ariana suggested?
She forgot to say sorry to the two girls that she made confused she turned to them and said Sorry for the confusion!

"Thank you," she grinned happily, now that she could finally start working. Following the one whose name she didn't know, she looked at the pile of... stuff they needed, and turned around to her other team mates. "Let's all try and move these together, it'll probably be much easier." Or levitating them is considered cheating?
Ira smiled. "You r welcome!" Though there really wasn't any need for thanks yous and welcomes..
Anyways, she was already tired from carrying all these heavy wheels and wood. They COULD use magic right? She looked around. Yep, others seemed to be using charms. So why not them? Turning towards the other two, Ira said, "Instead of actually moving, lets levitate them together. We can carry a lot more if we three work together!" And it would be a lot less tiring too!
"So what all do we need?" They needed to build floor and walls, and doors and handles, right? And wheels too!!

Harvey was pulling with all his might as he hoped that the other two would push from behind cause this cart was quite heavy.. he wanted to ask Mins how much she weighed when he realised it wasnt her it was the cart.. being made out of entirely wooden materials it was bound to be heavy. "Are you pushing from behind?!!" he called out to Damon and Taylor as he kept pulling and pulling to try and get this cart over the line so that they would have gotten this very heavy wooden cart over the line.. that they built as a group... Minnie was sitting inside the cart so that was good and now they just needed to get it over the line.. but it was proving a troublesome task since the cart was a heavy wooden box on wheels..

Levitate. Right.
"We need a floor, four wheels and at least two walls," Nora said, glad that she remembered that part of the instructions. "Let's try putting up the two walls, and maybe then maybe some of us can levitate the whole thing while the others are adding the wheels?" That seemed reasonable and simple enough. "Oh, we also need a handle."

Minerva was just about to leave the cart when Harvey grabbed it and began to pull then the other two pushed. She fell a bit and then grabbed on.."Guys..I don't like this." she started hoping that she stuck those wheels correctly. If not she was going to be hurting tomorrow. Then Minerva started getting excited when she saw the finish line. They did it, they actually did it. They made the cart and got it to the line without it breaking and without her being hurt. She jumped up and down in the cart clapping her hands. "WE DID IT, WE DID IT" she yelled smiled at her group. She reached down hoping someone would help her out. That was all she needed was to try and act cool jumping out of the cart in this long skirt and falling on her face.

Alyssa could see that everyone was working hard to build their wagon and she was still trying to find a partner. She sighed. It looked like this was going to be another test that she was going to fail.
"Does anyone else need a partner?" she called out.

Sierra nearly spared a smile for the little third year. She was so little and sweet that it nearly brought out Sierra's soft side. Nearly. Not quite, though. She stood back and watched the construction of the right wall. Hmm. So now they're cart looked sort of like a letter U: |_| "Wait," she said to the third year. "We don't have a front or a back to the cart. All we have is a bottom, a left, and a right." Did they even need a front and a back? "I think we at least need a back. That way, nothing falls out." Especially a person, since they had to carry someone across the finish line.
She picked up a few boards and measured them against the left and right sides. One seemed long enough, but the other was way too short. She tossed it aside and picked up a second board. Now they were both the same side. She placed them side by side then swished her wand. "Adhaero!" she said, sticking the two pieces together. Picking them up, she held them out to her group members. "Do one of you want to stick them to the pieces we already have together? They need to go on the back."

Ira nodded. "Okay! As you say then!" So they would just be making a cart having to walls, right? And may be they could just cover the top with a cloth?
"But we do need a floor first... before the walls.." Ira asked the older girl. "And for floors, we first need to stick the wheels."
And what was the sticking charm? Oops! Ira had kinda fodgotten. She almost knew it.. but didn't! "Err.. you do remember the sticking charm right?" Since she was older. So she should know.
Or how about one could do the floors and wheels, and other could do the walls an dhandles and stuff? "Shall we divide the work? I'll do the floor and wheels.. and you do the walls.. Is it fine?" Ira asked. "Hey.. and whats your name? I'm Ira!"
"That's all we ask," Paulie smiled, after Kaiden said he would do his best. And he would do the same! "Pleasure to meet ya, Kaiden and Beezus." His smile hitched a little higher when Beezus said she already knew his name.
Once they had all gotten their proper wood and wheels, Paulie gave a nod. "Right. So, it looks like we can get away with putting three pieces of lumber together to make the base - where one of you will sit," because Paulie's lanky frame wasn't gonna cut it, "So, let's start by using the 'Adhaero' spell to attach the pieces of wood together for the 'floor,' so to speak. After that, we'll move on to the walls."
After slipping his wand out of his back pocket, he swished his wand and spoke, "Ahd-high-row!" And so attached two of the wooden boards.
Kaiden nodded. A floor, right. Watching the older boy stick two pieces together, he pulled out his own wand. Gripping his wand tightly, he watched as Paulie did the spell, and then copied him. "Adhaero" He said, giving his wand a swish. And... nothing happened. That was just great. "Adhaero" he repeated, more forcefully, swishing his wand again. This time, the third piece stuck to the other two. "Well, I think I got it," he said, turning to the other two.

Harvey knew they were over the line with the yelling coming from inside the cart.. and he turned around to see her jumping up and down inside the cart.. he hoped that it would hold with all the excited jumping that she was doing in the cart and clapping her hands as well.. as a group they had built this big wooden box on wheels that was very heavy.. and they had managed to push or pull the cart across the line and not just Minnie but he was very happy too that they had done it.. at first he didnt think it was possible but look here they were over the line.. just then he saw that Minnie wanted to get out of the cart so he went over and offered his hand to help her down.. "Come on Mins I will help you down" he smiled.. he would pick her up and out of it but he didnt trust himself to be able to support both himself and her.. so at least if he supported her a little then she could slowly get down out of the cart without falling off it. He then waited for Damon to get her other hand so that she would have support on both sides.. not just one.

So, she was back at their station now. Quickly and slowly, she put the wheels down and helped Paulie and Kaiden with the lumber they were carrying. Then she knelt down, took out her wand, listened to the Head Boy and nodded. "Okay. Three pieces of lumber," yes, she was just following his lead.
One of them will sit? Oh. Yeah, she remembered Professor Elwood saying that. Heh, she'd love to sit on it. Once it was finished. Right now, they needed to assemble their cart first.
"Hand me that one," since she was on Paulie's other side, she figured she could just stick the other lumber on her side. When she took hold of it, she gripped her wand and uttered, "Adhaero!" Pointing it on the free space between the two pieces of that she trying to put together.

"That sounds jus' fine te me!" he replied, having no problem letting Nigel sit in there. Being the smallest and lightest of them, made a lot of sense, glancing over at Pyrsephonie incase she wanted to instead. "I'll start on the sides of the cart if ye want te put on the wheels."
"Adhaero" he said as he tapped the board attaching another row of boards to a small short piece and doing the same to the other end. Then he moved and said "adhaero" attaching it to one side of the cart and started on the other side as well. Once the two sides were done he started to work on the front and back.
Glancing over towards Nigel as he headed for the wheels, Isaac looked over at the boards he'd stuck together. Well the kid learned quickly! That was definitely a benefit. If he needed help though he hoped he'd ask for it!
Nigel came back with the wheels for the cart and then said "Issac can u please help me put on the wheels because it would go faster with two people". He then started putting the two wheels on the cart "adhaero","adhaero".
Once he checked that both wheels were on correctly he wondered what else needed done before we could actually push the cart with him inside to a finish line. He checked the boards he put together and saw them on correctly and could not think of i think. " Um Issac what more do we have to do with this cart"

The sticking charm. Right. Think, Nora, think, and do it quickly.
Pointing her wand at one of the walls-to-be, Nora made the swish-and-flick movement and said "Wingardium leviosa," levitating it so it would be on the left side of that large thing that was supposed to be the floor. As for the sticking charm... no, they needed a permanent sticking charm, just to be sure that nothing would fall off. Pointing her wand towards the part where the wall stood up on the floor, she concentrated on it and muttered the incantation. Stepping closer and checking to see if it worked, she grinned happily at Ira. "It worked. Why don't you try sticking the other wall, and then we'll figure out how to stick the wheels as well?"
"Oh, and I'm Nora, by the way."

It was falling! NO! All her hard work and it was falling right had she said the spell - no she hadn't. Silly girl.
Pointing her wand and quickly using the spell once more "adhaero" she called out the wood of the walls finally binding.
There. She hadn't made a large clanging sound happen. She as glad about that - who knows what small creature would have gotten hurt....awww why couldn't a small creature have gotten hurt? She'd have brought it to Professor Williamson and she'd sit there and drool over him he would have healed it.

Standing up he pushed the cart back and forth watching as it rolled nicely. Alright, it's moving, now for the handle of the cart. "Ok, we need te attach the handle. But...mebbe ye want te climb in and see if ye fit ok and it supports ye." he didn't want it falling apart as soon as Nigel climbed in!

Zhenya listened along to what Liesel was saying and nodded, "Sounds good! And... I didn't even think of using a spell to get the wood here," Zhenya said, slightly peeved that she had gone to carry it! Silly girl.
"Okay well let's start by doing walls, then attaching them to the floor, then attaching a roof, handles and... wheels?" she asked.
She pointed her wand at the pile of wood she had collected and said "Wingardium Leviosa," and trailed her wand upwards to sort out some of the wood. That was much better! Now the wood was sored into side walls, back wall, roof, floor, and handles.

Ira followed Nora and pointed her wand and muttered the levitating spell "Wingardium Leviosa!" while doing the appropriate wand movement.. the pile of wood began lifting up and they both carried it together to the place they wanted.
Ira looked on as the older girl cast the permanent sticking charm. Nodding at her, Ira too followed the same and started doing her own work. Taking three large pieces of wood, she gripped her wand and uttered, "Adhaero!" Pointing it in between the two pieces of wood that she trying to put together. And then again cast the spell. for the last piece.

She went to grab another arm full of wood to bring back to the group and see if they could use it all.
"Do you have another method of doing this?" she asked Alyssa and Liesel, because she wasn't entirely confident her method would work.
"Sure I can work on the floor and the walls if you want me to." Alyssa told Liesel and Zhenya. "I think that I'm quite familiar with the sticking charm."
Alyssa quickly made her way to the piles of wood and placed one piece of wood standing up sideways next to one lying flat down. Holding them in place, she then took out her wand and pointing it at the pieces of wood, said "Adhaero". A beam of light shot out and the two pieces of wood were stuck together. Then Alyssa ran over to the other side of the wood lying flat down and pulled over another piece of wood and standing it up sideways, she held it in place with her left hand while she used her wand, pointed at it and said the sticking spell again, "Adhaero" and like before a beam of light shot out and when the light disappeared she had two pieces of wood connected.
"We have the walls of the wagon connected to the floor now"Alyssa called out to her team mates.

"And we can use Wingardium Leviosa to lift up the items and then use Adhaero to stick together! I'll push it down and you two make a decison to who will be in it." she said. Hopefully it would work and hopefully they would understand. It was simple to understand wasn't it?

Alyssa quickly made her way to the piles of wood and placed one piece of wood standing up sideways next to one lying flat down. Holding them in place, she then took out her wand and pointing it at the pieces of wood, said "Adhaero". A beam of light shot out and the two pieces of wood were stuck together. Zhenya looked at Alyssa's piece of work and smiled at her, "Excellent! Now... we need to put the roof on it," she said, and pulled out her wand. "Wingardium Leviosa," she said, and layed it on top of the walls. Was it missing anything else? Curtains? flowers? carpets? Rugs? Shawls?.... a name? Did it matter?
Zhenya shrugged, pointed her wand at the roof and said "Adhaero," and the roof flung off the cart and landed next to her. Frowning, she pointed her wand at it again and said "Wingardium Leviosa," and levitated it back on the cart. "Someone else had better try," she said, crossing her arms in a frump.
