It was a long walk down from the Divination Tower to the lawns that sprawled out infront of Hogwarts Caslte and hopefully you didn't let your shaws drag or trip over your skirts. Professor Elwood is already waiting for you when you arrive, she too has dressed up as a stereotypical forune teller complete with about 5 shaws, a purple turban and about 10 pounds of necklaces.
When you arrive please line up close to her and wait for instructions.
OCC: Be sure you have posted in this thread before coming here.
** The thread will remain open so that you can continue to work on your carts and I've decided to keep it open until Noon (12pm EST) on Saturday, May 12th.
Kurumi looked at the work and sort of furrowed her brow. It looked...so sad just sitting there like that with two walls and NOTHING on top. "Selina! Give me that," she commanded, totally ignoring what her best friend was telling her to do. Lunging for the shawl around Selina's shoulders, a red one at that, Kurumi enlarged it with some quick spellwork and then climbed onto the cart to cover the walls. She used the sticking charm again to adhere it to the top and around the base of the cart before jumping off again. "Look! It has three walls now and looks pretty!"
She even stood back, waving her arms in a rather showy fashion to get Selina's approval. Maybe she should paint the wheels too? A simply Color Changing Charm would do the trick. "What do you think, red again for the wheels or gold?"
And she still needed to get her shoe.
Selina was suddenly pulled back as the cloth around her shoulders was yanked off of her. As she turned around she saw her best friend enlarging her shawl and putting it over the carr to add some finishing touches. This is no time to be decorating the cart to make it look pretty. What did she think she was doing, they had to race, they had to get in the cart and run as fast as they could to the finish line. Instead, they were making the cart look pretty and wasting time on such useless things.
However, when she took a few steps back she saw how beautiful the cart looked now. Perhaps they did have time to add a few finishing touches. So when she asked her opinion on what the color should be, she knew automatically what she wanted. Without a thought she replied, "Gold. We are Gryffidors aren't we? The answer is obvious.". As she waited for Kurumi to do that and climb in the cart, Selina drew her wand and attached the handle with the very useful adhering spell, "Adhaero! You ready, Kurumi?"
Addie stared at the wood on the ground. "Well we could make a base thingy to sit on and three walls. The minimum is two," she said thinking about the project at hand. "Each of us can take something to build by sticking pieces of wood together. A base or wall."
Addie waved her wand at two boards. "Adhaero," she said sticking them together.

Well, minus him since he was going to be pulling the cart. "I think we should stick the walls on the floor board and see how much space there is before sticking the wheels on," he said.
Kennedy nodded. "Here." He took out his wand and pointed it at another wood board and positioned it over what would be the base. "Someone do the sticking charm," he said. It was a good idea to start with the base and walls first.

Note to self. Try that...after class.
Selena listened to the Addie girl speak. She nodded as she listened to the younger and shorter Slytherin before looking at the prefect. "You!" Selena said, pointing at the other girl who was not a Slytherin, "Do you wanna try the sticking charm?" Selena asked before levitating over a few round wooden stuff. Because Kennedy needed someone to stick it, right?
Those were the wheels, right? They'd need a frame for it, right? Like... stick stuff and stuff? Sounded right. "I'm Selena," Selena blurted out loud. Just in case anyone forgot her name. Which wasn't possible because how could a person forget that awesometastical name? It wasn't possible. Selena lowered four wheels gently onto the ground, careful not to drop them abruptly and make it... split or something.
She wondered if they would get paint to write their name on the side or something.

"Gold it is then!" Kurumi smiled, completely oblivious to the tension Selina was feeling. In fact, it was as if Kurumi had completely forgotten that this was a race at all. "Pingo GOLD!" Kurumi chirped, pointing her wand at wheel number one before skipping off to the second wheel and repeating the process.
Just as she was about to skip to wheel number three, she realized that she wasn't wearing one of her boots. Hmm? When did that happen? Oh! There it was! Kurumi scurried over to where her boot had fallen off earlier and slipped it back on before returning to their wagon. "Pingo GOLD!" Kurumi liked the way the gold color was catching in the light. This was turning out to be an alright activity after all!

She tried to pick them up, but they were a bit heavy. "Can I have some help moving these?" she looked at the others for some help.
Harvey listened as Minnie told them what they needed to do first and he watched as she walked over to where the wood was and watched as she was trying to get the pieces that she wanted so he went over to where Minnie was trying but not managing to get the pieces he heard her asked for help and look at them.. as soon as he heard her he did just as she had asked.. he went over to help her pick up the pieces that were too heavy for her and required a two people "Here let me help you with that" he said as he helped Minnie with the piece of wood that she was trying to pick up. "Where do you want to put this Mins?" he asked wondering where they were going to start building.
He glanced over Selena. Duh. They could use magic.
Kennedy shook his head at himself. He was a wizard, now, time to use the magic running in his veins.
The prefect studied the board Selena had hovering. Okay, how should they start this. There were several ways, but since they had a full group he wanted to make sure everyone fit in there.
Addie listened to Kennedy's idea. It was a good idea, way better than hers of course. Addie said, "So we are basically making the cart, seat place first then adding wheels and handle. That's a good idea!". Team Awesometastical was going to win this for sure.
Kennedy positioned the boards and Selena suggested that the other girl do the sticking charm. Addie stood back to let the girl do the work. Then Selena introduced herself. "I'm Addie." she piped up looking at the wagon they were making.
"I'll make the handle," Addie offered picking up some small pieces of wood and putting them next to the handle piece. "Adhaero, now this can attach to the wagon piece."
Tay nodded and started getting the base ready. Figures that Damon would know how to build the cart thing since he was a nomad with his parents. She brushed her hair back and started working on the base.

Damon started on one side of the wheels, "We need to get the wheels together first off." He nodded, slowly getting the board attached to the wheel, making sure it could spin easily, he moved back to the next one. This is where's it's a blessing to grow up in the woods. He thought with a sigh returning to his work.
The second wheel was tied off but for some reason didn't want to spin as easily. He sighed looking around, there wasn't anything that appeared wrong with it... Then he looked at the knot he'd tied it wrong. That would've been unfortunate. Selina watched as Kurumi walked around the cart trying to get the wheels all to have a beautiful Gryffindor pride coat. Now that she was taking the time to appreciate all of the work they were doing, Selina sort of wanted to take the cart BACK to the Common Room. Bentley would be so proud that her little Gryffindors had taken the time to make their cart roar with Gryffindor pride. It was a piece of art. She almost was tempted to paint a small, little lion on one of the wheels, but then she saw something that made her want to throw up. The race was starting to heat up.
WAS KURUMI DONE YET? When she looked over to her best friend she saw that she was getting a little flightly with what her task at hand was. So much so that she had completely skipped a wheel. Letting out a noise somewhere inbetween a scream and a gasp, she drew her own wand and quickly painted the third wheel gold, "Pingo gold!"
She was done playing around now. They had work to do and a race to actually RACE in. So, without giving her friend the chance to catch her breath, she grabbed her by her dress, pushed her in the cart, and yelled, "Come on, Kurumi, enough!"
Grateful to see other partnerless people, Ariana waved the two younger students over and said, "We can be in a group if you guys want, and one of you two can be in the wagon." Of course they had to make it first... Adhaero, avexis, she recited to herself.

"Ariana," she smiled. "Nice to meet you." Nerida and Butterfly were such pretty names! Ariana wished she was named something like that instead of being stuck with boring old Ariana. Bleh.
"And I think we're supposed to use the sticking and unsticking charms, right?" Adhaero, Avexis, Adhaero, Avexis. Must. Memorize.
"So maybe something like..." Ariana trailed off, imagining a wagon with five pieces of wood stuck together, then perhaps two axles through the sides and two wheels on either? But how to get the axles into the slabs of wood...
It took Ariana a moment to remember that neither Nerida nor Butterfly could understand her thoughts, so she accio'ed five large pieces of wood, two axles, and four wheels over to where she and her two partners were standing, and then she began to attempt to make the wagon.
She lined up two wood slabs and pulled out her wand. "Adhaero," she said, and then tugged on the two pieces. Firmly stuck together. Perfect. Oh wait, there were other people. She should probably explain.
"I was thinking just a simple topless box, then punch four holes in it and add wheels on axles. Any objections or suggestions?" Wait, since when was Ariana in charge? Since she was the oldest, she guessed. Shrug, whatever.

Nerida thought what did they need to do again, Nice to meet you, cool name! Well we need the bottom of course, four wheels and at least two walls and a handle type thingy...So we should began with the bottom or the wheels right? Great thinking Adriana! Suprising she remebered her name they had worked on something she thought in one of her lessons in her first year...
She couldnt remember what the sticking charms were she said The sticking charms are Adhaero, Avexis, Adhaero, and another one right?
Taking out her wand she said Well we could make the holes by using diffindo, correct?

Beezus was startled. They were going to build a wagon and race? What was happening to Divination? Gaah, really...there was no time to think about that anymore. All she needed now was a team mate. And danng! She couldn't pair up with Indy because they were both third years. Now, she gotta find another one.
Oh, lookieeee. Their Head Boy was looking for someone to work with. She unlatched the shawl on her neck, and tied it to her waist as she walked to where the Head Boy was. "Heyyyyyyyy.....you're older than me so we can team up, I think." NO. THEY SHOULD TEAM UP. Because the other teams were already working and...racing.

Sierra stared at the professor in complete disbelief. This was a magical class, and they were building a fortune teller cart?! Blahh. Sierra hated lessons that dealt with non-magical topics. She was a pureblood witch raised in a pureblood world. Plus, she now had to find a partner...or at least a group. Hopefully somebody decent and not annoying still needed a partner. She peered around the room, looking for at least a good Slytherin to work with.
"Does anybody still need a partner?" she asked. "Or, can anybody use another group member?" Someone good, please.
While the girls decided who would the sticking charm Kennedy thought of how they were assembling the wagon. So far, with a wall up that Addie had put up it seemed like the letter L. Now, they need to stick the other board on to it, which was the one he was levitating.
Kennedy looked over at the young Ravenclaw and tilted his head. She was probably a first year. It would explain why she didn't know the sticking charm. "Ravenclaw," he said because he didn't know her name and his wand arm was beginning to cramp while trying to keep it steady. "The sticking charm is ahd-high-row," he said slowly. "Come on, try it on this board." Please, his hand was cramping.
"I'm Kennedy," he said, since everyone was saying their names.

Nerida looked around at the annocemnet of someone needing a partner counting real quick she said We only have three if you would like to join... She was an older girl, it would be useful to have someone older on their team...

He nodded, slowly getting the board attached to the wheel, making sure it could spin easily, he moved back to the next one.
He set the two wheels up togther, they seemed to work fine together and kept their balance, he looked over at Taylor and Harvey, "You two need any help?" He asked wanting to get started on the next part but he had to remember for most people this wasn't something you did on a regular basis.
Tay couldnt help but watch in amazement as DAmon worked on the wheels. He made it look so easy. After a few moments she realized that she hadnt done anything yet because she was too focused on watching him work. Must be nice, being raised as a nomad.... Taylor almost missed what Damon said, "Oh ummm....." She looked from Damon to Harvey then back to Damon, "Nah... we are fine right now...." Tay looked back at Harvey, "Right?" She started working on the base and trying not to focus on Damon. Taylor still felt bad for what happened the night before..... She shook her head to clear her thoughts and sighed. Taylor looked at Harvey, "Is this even right?" She gestured to the base and laughed.
Kurumi's wand had once again gotten tangled up in her elaborate necklace and she was struggling to get it undone so she could finish with her paint work. At least she had her boot on now, yeah? Kurumi wondered how her boot had fallen off in the first place, but she was still a little too focused on her wand being stuck in her necklace to think of anything else.

Kurumi was about to tell her friend just what she thought about the push when she was being shouted at again. "Enough?" she questioned, cocking her head to the side. "Do you want to climb up in here too? We can decorate the inside!"
Climb inside to decorate the inside? If Selina's thoughts could be testified in a court of law, she knew she was would have ended up in Azkaban. Merlin, Kurumi had gotten so wrapped up in the decoration side of the assignment that she had forgotten that the two of them were racing to pass a finish line. This was no time to dottle she had always wanted to use that word, check that off her bucket list. So her face grew red when Kurumi even contemplated forefitting racing so that they could have a paint party. They could always do that LATER!
Grabbing onto the handle tightly, she turned around to her friend and said, "This is a race, not a decorating party. We can do that later! Merlin!" With that she was off and running down the grounds towards their divination Professor. This was a lot harder than she had originally anticipated. At first, she thought that the tough part was going to be assembling the mechanism, but running 30 yards while carrying Kurumi, although she was not heavy, was REALLY HARD. Perhaps she had a little more training to do than she had thought before Quidditch season had started.
As she ran the fist twenty yards, she coughed and breathed heavily trying to get air to her lungs. But once she hit the twenty-one yard mark she started to exclaim random words and phrases to help her reach her goal in a therapeutic way, "Merlin... CART... running... WHY?? Quidditch... not ready... cookies.... nap.... RUN!"
The last five yards, she ran them over a rock which made the cart hop a little, but then she saw the end in sight. Finding some energy deep within herself, she sprinted the last five yards and passed the finish line!
Then she released the handle and collapsed on the ground, "AHHHH!"

He thought with a sigh returning to his work.
The second wheel was tied off but for some reason didn't want to spin as easily. He sighed looking around, there wasn't anything that appeared wrong with it... Then he looked at the knot he'd tied it wrong. That would've been unfortunate. He set the two wheels up togther, they seemed to work fine together and kept their balance, he looked over at Taylor and Harvey, "You two need any help?" He asked wanting to get started on the next part but he had to remember for most people this wasn't something you did on a regular basis.

Minerva moved fallowing him, she did the same "Ahd-high-row" to that knot just to make it extra secure. She didn't know which one would be inside, but she didn't want anyone of them falling out and getting hurt. She followed looking at them. Then she thought she could handle doing the other two wheels on her own. She moved to them and tried putting the third one together. Damon made this look easy. She could not get it to sit balanced, "Um Damon, could you help me with this wheel?"

She started working on the base and trying not to focus on Damon. Taylor still felt bad for what happened the night before..... She shook her head to clear her thoughts and sighed. Taylor looked at Harvey, "Is this even right?" She gestured to the base and laughed.
Harvey watched as Minnie and Damon started putting the wheels on and since there were only four wheels he figured they could do two each and have them on in no time and if there were any problems then they could help each other out.. he went to get and get the other pieces that were needed.. right so they had a floor and they had the 4 wheels that they needed.. next they needed the walls for this kart so that was what Harvey went to get.. he went and got a wall and brought it back and applied the sticking charm "Ahd-high-row" he said as the wall went onto the kart.. Harvey checked that it was strong enough.. and as he checked it seemed to be strong so that it wouldnt fall apart while it was being moved.. he went and got the second wall that was needed and brought it back also applying the sticking charm once more "Ahd-high-row!" he said as he checked the wall again.. it seemed ook but not level or something was odd.. so he quickly unstuck it and re-stuck it "A-Wek-Sis" he adjusted the wall "Ahd-high-Row!" he then checked it again and it seemed just as good as the first so he let the others know "The walls are good.. once those wheels are done we can move on to the next task" he said not wanting to sound like the leader but just letting them know. He then heard Taylor ask him if the base was right .. he looked at it and felt the base "Yeah looks good to me.. strong and sturdy.. just what we need for this cart.. good" he said smiling at Taylor.. she had got the right base for their cart

Looking around to find a team, he heard an older student asking for teammates. Heading over to him, kaiden said, "Can I be on your team?"

Aha! Here came a Hufflepuff boy who was in need of a team as well! "Of course! You look like an able, young body, eh?" Paulie grinned. And to boost the inter-house team even more, a Ravenclaw approached them as well. Excellentttt. "Yep, for sure."
He straightened his turban yet again and looked to his two, promising teammates. "I'm Paulie, if you guys didn't know already," because they needed to at least know one another's names. He looked to Kaiden, "I'm thinkin' that you and I should go grab the lumber, while you," he turned to Beezus, "Should fetch the wheels." As long as that was all right with them, yeah?
"Then we'll meet up back here in a second and start assembling the wagon. And let's run, 'cause this is a RACE!"
Ronnie's braclets kept sliding down her arm, then up then down when she moved it. She pursed her lips in frustration, wanting to take the stupid things off and throw them as far as she could. But she wouldn't do that, that would probably lead to losing house points. And she wouldn't want that.
Ronnie kept her arms firmly to her sides, her fists clenched as she listened to the professor give instructions. Her mood brightened a little at the thought of being the one of the group who got to ride in the wagon. Okay, now that sounded fun. And so did building the wagon. So the lesson wasn't that bad.
Now to find someone to be in a group with. She spotted Isaac and skipped over to him and his group. "Can I be in your guys's group?" she asked with a smile.

"Hey Ronnie, awesome now we've got 4!" They should get it all done in no time now, right? "Nice te meet the both of ye. This is Ronnie." Chewing on his lip he grabbed some of the wood as he thought glancing at Pyrsephonie and Nigel "Well I think thet one of ye younger te should be in the wagon. Yer smaller and lighter, making it easier te pull ye in the wagon. "What ye think?" he asked the other 3 in his team. He wasn't gonna tell them what to do, they needed to work this together!
Let's see they needed a base for the wagon...Laying a bunch of boards side by side the length of each one against each side. Then picked up two shorter boards for each end. Laying one board on one end of the boards he tapped it saying "adhaero."

Minerva looked over to the cart, it was turning out pretty good. "Taylor don't forget to use the sticking spell Ahd-high-row so that it sticks correctly. Harvey that looks great. Keep up the good work. Now if only I could figure out these wheels." she laughed at herself a bit. She didn't want to be to dumb in front of her friends, but this was hard. She tried to redo the setting, but the balance was off and she had no clue how to tie the not. She looked at Damon and gave her best puppy dog look, "Okay here's the deal you balance and tie the not and I will do what I do best, the spell with the wand... sound good?"

Ronnie had been distracted by a stupid butterfly while everyone else got into groups. She looked around after snapping back into reality, realizing she didn't have a group to be in.
That darn butterfly. . . .
Hoping there were people still in need of group, she thrust her arms in the air to get attention. "IF ANYONE NEEDS A GROUP, COME OVER HERE!" she called so that everyone could hear her. She put her arms down, hoping someone would come up and be in her group. 'Cause she couldn't do this whole thing by herself. How could she ride in a wagon yet pull it at the same time. . . .?

Nora was... shocked.
What in the world did they have to do?! And besides that, everything around her was moving so fast that she didn't even have time to process any of it. Looking around, she noticed that she needed at least one partner. "Is there anyone who still needs a partner?" Like... pretty please?

"We can be partners!" She said enthusiastically as she noticed that there still was someone who needed help. She couldn't have been happier.

Surely Liesel wouldn't mind, right?
