There was a crisp, cool breeze outside, indicating that the holidays weren't too far away now. The leaves blow across the ground, racing you down to the greenhouses where Professor Bentley is waiting in Greenhouse Three.
Inside, Professor Bentley is standing beside two long rows of puffapod plants, each with pods bursting with seeds, just waiting to be harvested. Most of the students would recognise them from the previous year ... how time has flown! Stools are arranged along the perimeter of the raised flower bed, waiting for the students to be seated.
OOC: THE LESSON HAS STARTED, DO NOT ARRIVE LATE--JUST PRETEND YOU WERE HERE THE WHOLE TIME. If you haven't done so already then please read through the Herbology Rules and Expectations and the SS Site Rules. All SS Board Rules apply. IC rule breaking will result in IC punishment, OOC rule breaking will result in OOC punishment. Please behave appropriately and most importantly... have fun. He dug his arms in and shouted a "I FOUND IT!" and lifted the pod up. "I GOT IT, JORY I GOT ..." Again, he was hit by one of the vines and Daichi dropped the pod as it fell back in the Snargaluff. He shouted a veeeery baaad word in frustration and tried to grab the vine.
Succeeding in grabbing it, Daichi shook it a little. "YAH! This uniform was new!" he said at the Snargaluff's vine. Yes he talked to it now... The hit had landed on his arm and the fabric had torn leaving a big cut in his sleeve. His arm was fine though.
"I can't grab it!, Jory you try" he said as he glanced at the Hufflepuff while still holding the vine. He then moved to where Jory was standing and grabbed the vines he was holding. "Okay i got them... can you try if you can take the pod out?"
The Huffie thought Daichi was going to faint when he saw the blood but to Jory's relief he turned his attention back to the task at hand.
As Daichi shouted he got the pod, Jory began to feel relieved. This plant was not on his list of favourites. But moments later he thought he had seriously misheard as Daichi shouted a word be would not repeat when he dropped the pod.
He had to laugh a bit, in spite of the situation, when the Slytherin shook the vines and told it about his new uniform. This bit of distraction cost Jory though, for a vine from higher on the plant suddenly slapped Jory on the wrist. "Yeow!" he shouted almost shouting Daichi's bad word. "Can't you stop hitting at us?''
After he passed the the vines he was holding, Jory cautiously approached the plant,keeping a lookout for attacking vines. He had no trouble in finding the hole for he'd seen where Daichi had stuck his hand in. Suddenly, from behind him, Jory heard a loud whoosh and he spun around just in time to see a vine heading in his direction very fast. Quickly, Jory ducked under thew vine and stuck his hand in the hole and felt around for the pod.
Moments later, Jory felt his fingers brush against a pod. He grabbed it and pulled his hand out. "Got it!" he shouted as the same vine came whooshing
back at him.
"I'm Silvia Talbot, first year Ravenclaw. Nice to meet you." Several students were already engaging with the snargaluff. She pulled at her gloves to make sure they were on all the way and secure. "So, should we get started then, or do you think we should try to find one more person to team up with?" she asked.
Tayla was just about to answer that they could work right away when she heard a girl call out. "I think someone still needs a group." She turned to where the voice came from.

Tayla gave a small smile to her partners and introduced herself. "I'm Tayla." She made sure her gloves were on properly and looked at the Snargaluff. "I can hold the vines, but I think I'll need one of you to help me, while the other reaches in for the pods."

He really was nervous. Stella hadn't really thought it was an act for Professor Bentley's benefit, but she also hadn't really thought one could be that nervous about Herbology. Granted, she was nervous herself, but that was just because of some of the other things that had happened to her last term in this class. She was determined to prove she could manage the snargaluff, to the professor and more accurately herself. She was still worried about getting injured, but so far things didn't look that bad. Scrapes, scratches... nothing that much different from the pixies, and as far as she could tell the snargaluff wasn't about to try and tangle her hair up. That gave it points in her eyes. Not many, but at least it made her feel better about the activity.
And she nodded as Vickers spoke again, offering to wrestle with the vines if she was alright with retrieving the pod. She smiled as he tentatively gave her the opening to get out of it, though. "Honestly? I'd rather not do either, but I think I can handle the pod better than the vines," she replied, glancing at the students who were currently struggling with said branches after speaking. She was strong, but that looked like a bit more than she wanted to deal with. Ducking and reaching seemed the better option, and besides, she'd have her gloves on.

Elise felt her sleeve being tugged on and pivoted to find someone there. Grinning when she asked in she could join her, she nodded. "Sure!"
She'd been a little terrified of being stepped on or something, but since she asked... "I'm Elise, by the way," she added, tying her hair up. "So... would you like to go in or hold the vines?"
Cause honestly, Ellie'd like to do the pod-grabbing. She was a little small to tackle the vines...
"I'm Glenn," She said, traipsing over to where Elise was standing with the plant. Glenn patted her curls down, hoping the vines wouldn't discover the art of yanking on them like her future brother or sister no doubt would soon learn how to do.
"I guess I'll go in first," Glenn said, thrusting out her chin and plunging in hand in. Before she could however, a loose vine struck her arm. Glenn yelped and pulled her hand out with no pod, her arm was bleeding. Only lightly. Glenn glanced away from the sight of the blood knowing that it would make her squeamish, "Again?"
''Ah well,Messer Pleasure to be working with you.''Ryan said smiling as he listened to What the boy said.''Um,Do the plunging into the hole.''He said confused.
"Yes. The same." he nodded curtly. Then he heard the boy answered his question. Okay then so that mean he was the one who will holding the vines. He just hoped that he was strong enough to hold it while Ryan plunges his arm into the hole. Messer waited patiently until its their time to extract a pod from a Snargaluff. "Are you ready?" he asked Ryan while made sure that his gloves were on.

"You got it?!" Because she was really wanting to gives her arms a break and collapse on the greenhouse floor if allowed. Not to mention put some ice over her eye.
Almost just a little further! he called out to Kurumi who was still tickling the vine that was holding them back just a moment ago. I got it!
The Pod was already pretty loose inside the Snargaluff, Oakey didn't need that much force in pulling it out. He yanked the Pod from the hole and held it high like a trophy.
still holding the Pod in the air Oakey back away quickly when he saw the ropes undo themselves on the other vines. He looked at Kurumi who was still holing the one vine. Once he was a safe distance he hugged the pod to his chest and sat on his but breathing heavily. It didn't take to long after he sat that Oakey found himself laying down on his back. I-I can't believe I just did that! Oakey wanted to sleep right there and then but he took a good look at his right arm. The sleeve was ripped all the way to the cuffs and he had cuts and blood going all the way from his elbow to the palm of his hand. No time for sleeping He thought I just need to get this bandaged up He then turned his attention to Kurumi lifting his head slightly off the ground. How's your eye? He asked.

Elise shuddered, as she stared at the vines that kept thrashing about. Walking towards it quickly, she nodded at Glenn to be careful. Grasping as many of the vines as she could, she held them as far away from Glenn as she could. But seemingly before Glenn could reach in, a vine slapped her arm and caused it to bleed.
Having a healer for a mother meant that the Healer instincts were passed down through loads of experience. Ripping off her sleeve, she made a makeshift bandage for Glenn's arm. Wrapping the white cloth around the small wound, she smiled. "Until you get a real bandage for that."
She had 2 extra sets of uniform anyway, so it didn't matter if one of them was ripped up for bandages. "Sure. Wait a moment, though."
Stepping away from the vicious plant, she wiped her slightly sweaty hands on her skirt before tackling it again, holding the vines away for Glenn. "Go!" she mouthed, nodding towards the open hole in the center. She'd better go before Elise lost her grip again.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

Daichi shouted back and went back to trying to capture the vine that was whooshing back at Jory. "Jory! Jump left! but don't let the pod drop" he said for if the Hufflepuff moved to the left he wouldn't get hit and Daichi could grab the vine.
Taylor looked at Lily after Angelina was back far enough, and waited for the go ahead so that both can run away.

Lily wasn't used to this. She wasn't typically the one giving the directions, but with this task she had taken the lead. Once Angelina was free, Lily knew that herself and Taylor could get away from the plant. "Ok... Are you ready Tay?" Lily waited to get a response so that they would go at the same time. "Tay! watch out! the vine is coming at you!" Lily stood back near Angelina waiting for Taylor to join them.

Nodding she started heading off towards the professor and turned around asking, "Do you mind if you wait for me I'll only be a few seconds with professor."*
Turning around she headed towards professor Bentely and was ready to hand her the pod. To he her attention she cough and said, "Professor? My group is done and I just came to give you the pod,"

Olivia opened her eyes to examine what she had pulled out. A football shaped fuzzy yellow thing was in her hands "Is this what they're supposed to look like?" She showed her findings to Cardigan.

While keeping a lookout just in case one of the vines got away from Giddy. She knew she probably should move faster for her and Giddy's sake, but her fear of the evil snargaluff was holding her back.
Gideon had managed to deal with the first two vines, after struggling just a bit to get a hold and tie them together. Hopefully it would hold at least for now, so he was free to deal with the others and Kacie was in turn free to harvest the pod. He nodded at Kacie's words, the 5th year already holding himself to his own promise. Forget Professor Bentley's assurances, he was certainly gonna do his best with his own.
Two down...however many more to go, the Gryffindor not paying too much mind to actually count them, Gideon worked on more of the vines , grabbing for one as it tried to grab for him and his hair. "Not so fast," he murmered, pulling it away and fighting to keep hold as another neared his grasp. His attention was torn between plant and human as Kacie moved slowly and cautiously towards the dead-looking stump itself. The boy silently willing it to go smoothly and for her to speed up a little as he finally grasped hold of the vine he was in pursuit of.

Okay, so she was going to get the pod out. Oh they had already started pinning the vines down! Zhenya looked in alarm, the hole didn't look friendly. She walked up to it, and a vine cane out and slapped her across her cheek.
She winced, but stayed focused, no point getting upset at a defending plant. She said under her breath "One.... two.... three," and almost ran up to the plant to plunge her arm into the hole.
It closed around her arm as it plunged in deeper, and she shrieked. She hadn't really been expecting that. It started to close really tight around her arm, and she got quite scared. Moving her arm as fast as she could inside the hole, she grasped the pod and yanked her hand free, almost leaving the pod in there.
"I GOT IT!" she said happily!

Once Lily was finally away and safe Angelina ran up to her and said, "you alright?" by looking at the cut the vine gave her on her cheek it was bleeding a little. As Lily warned Taylor about the other vibe coming her way Angelina winced as she watched her friend get cut a little on the neck by the active planet moving everywhere it could. *
Once both Lily and Taylor were safe Angelina walked up to Taylor and checked her neck. The cut wasnt too bad at all, all she had to do was clean it up and it would be all good. *With Lily reminding her she had to give the pod to professor Bentely, she looked down at the pod she forgot she has been holding the whole time. Nodding she started heading off towards the professor and turned around asking, "Do you mind if you wait for me I'll only be a few seconds with professor."*
Turning around she headed towards professor Bentely and was ready to hand her the pod. To he her attention she cough and said, "Professor? My group is done and I just came to give you the pod,"
As Angelina rushed up to check on Lily, Lily smirked. "Yeah, I'm fine... it's just a little scrape, nothing to worry about." Lily turned to watch Taylor get away from the plant also.*

When Taylor turned and told Angelina that she would wait, Lily spoke up also. "Yeah, we'll both wait here for you while you give the pod to the professor. and then we can walk back up to the castle together." Lily waited next to Taylor, while subconsciously she kept feeling her scrape on her cheek to make sure that it had stopped bleeding.
Okay, so she was going to get the pod out. Oh they had already started pinning the vines down! Zhenya looked in alarm, the hole didn't look friendly. She walked up to it, and a vine cane out and slapped her across her cheek.
She winced, but stayed focused, no point getting upset at a defending plant. She said under her breath "One.... two.... three," and almost ran up to the plant to plunge her arm into the hole.
It closed around her arm as it plunged in deeper, and she shrieked. She hadn't really been expecting that. It started to close really tight around her arm, and she got quite scared. Moving her arm as fast as she could inside the hole, she grasped the pod and yanked her hand free, almost leaving the pod in there.
"I GOT IT!" she said happily!
She let go of the vines when got the pod out,"Nice job."
Gideon had managed to deal with the first two vines, after struggling just a bit to get a hold and tie them together. Hopefully it would hold at least for now, so he was free to deal with the others and Kacie was in turn free to harvest the pod. He nodded at Kacie's words, the 5th year already holding himself to his own promise. Forget Professor Bentley's assurances, he was certainly gonna do his best with his own.
Two down...however many more to go, the Gryffindor not paying too much mind to actually count them, Gideon worked on more of the vines , grabbing for one as it tried to grab for him and his hair. "Not so fast," he murmered, pulling it away and fighting to keep hold as another neared his grasp. His attention was torn between plant and human as Kacie moved slowly and cautiously towards the dead-looking stump itself. The boy silently willing it to go smoothly and for her to speed up a little as he finally grasped hold of the vine he was in pursuit of.
While Giddy wrestle with the vines Kacie continued to inch her way closer and closer to the snargaluff until she was within reach to reach in and grab a hold of the pod. She groaned as she bit her lip, briefly closing her eyes as she stretched out her arms to their full extent and let her fingers wrap around the pod. Her eyes didn't stay close for long because the darkness behind her lids only contributed to allowing her imagination run wide with imagines of her evil snargaluff, forcing her eyes to fly back open.
Kacie tugged at the pod, trying to pull it loose. Please don't eat me. Please don't eat me. Please don't eat me. She thought, all of her concentration shifting to getting the pod that she was no long worrying about the vines since it was Giddy's job to hold them. So she didn't notice the first two vines that Giddy had tied, slowly coming undone the more they wiggled.
"I GOT IT!!!" She yelled to Giddy, the moment the pod popped free and she pulled her arm out of the stump before it really did eat her. She was actually quite pleased with herself that she had faced a snargaluff and won... well almost won. As Kacie turned to quickly get away with her prize only to come face to face with the first two vine who had just freed themselves of the knot. Uh oh!!!
She stood there petrified to the spot. Her mind running wild on her again and she didn't even need to close her eyes. The world seemed to be spinning with evil eyes and that mouth from the snargaluff in dream... ready to devour her if only the vines caught her.
I'm DOOMED! DOOMED!! DOOMED!!!
Was the only thing going through her head as she stood there, as one vine started to wrap around her. Kacie eyes looked ready to roll up into her head on the verge of fainting from the shock, unable to conquer this fear of hers.
That had not been the most graceful thing Amelia had ever done, that was for sure. And she was a little sore now too. At least the pod was safe and she was all in one piece. For now. When Sophie fell, she didn't even need the warning called out to her in order to know that she had to get up and fast. "Come on!" she said to her partner as she tried to get up now... and got slapped in the face with a vine. "Really?!" That had hurt. >_>
Sophie would have laughed at their ridiculous situation if it wasn't... you know, dangerous. What if one of the vines grabbed her legs and spun her around?? She wasn't that heavy, maybe the plant would do that! Gosh! She needed to be fast!
Turning around, she started crawling away from the Snargaluff. She was glad she didn't have to protect any pods in her hand, like Amelia would have to. A vine hit her on the side and she rolled on the floor. Now that was stupid. The plant wasn't going easy on them, they weren't supposed to go easy on it either, right? Sophie restarted crawling away as fast as she could.
When she noticed another vine coming in her direction, she slapped it like Amelia had done before. "Get off! I'm not even touching you anymore!" Uh... maybe stopping to talk to the plant wasn't a good idea now. And it would be pointless, as the Snargaluff didn't seem to be listening to them anyway. She had turned her head to face the plant when she spoke to it, just in time to see a vine coming in her direction and missing her face by an inch. Gaaah! Definitely no time for talking. She finally got up and ran for dear life.

"Finite" he then squeezed out the remaining water and tied it around her arm where the scratch was.. "It might hurt a little less and it will keep it clean until it is healed." he said smiling.. afterall he didnt want Justin scolding him for not looking after his girl.
Minerva smiled as they both got away from the plant. Then Harvey put a cloth on her scratch. "oH Harvs it's ok I promise. Well I'm going to give this to Professor Bentley." she turned and went up to the front of the room. "Here is Harvey and I's pod." once she gave the pod to the professor she went back to Harvey. "I'm headed back to the castle want to walk with me?" She gathered her things and started to head out of the green house. "Thanks Professor for the great lesson."

Harvey smiled as she said it was ok.. he then listened as Minnie said that she was going to give the pod to ther professor "Oh ok.. sure go ahead" he watched as she gave the pod to the professor before coming back to him and telling him that she was headed back to the castle and asked whether he wanted to walk with her.. he smiled at this "Sure.. I will walk with you" he said smiling as he picked up his things and heard Minnie thank the professor.. "Yes thank you professor.. it was truely a magnificent lesson.. cant wait for the next Herbology lessons" he said to the professor smiling.. he then headed out of the greenhouse with Minnie as they made their way to the castle

While Alyssa was standing watching everyone working hard to wrestle the vines and get their seeds, she noticed two Gryfffindors wrestling with the vines and from the looks of it having trouble. She quickly rushed over and grabbed the vine that was wrapping itself around the girl, who looked like she was on the verge of fainting. She wrestled with it, unwrapping it from the girl and called out to her. "Quick, I see that you've got your seed. You've completed your task. Move away from it now. I'll try to hold on to this until you're safe."

At first, Sierra hadn't realized she'd been addressed. She was still so focused on scanning the room for anyone still needing a group that she nearly missed the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw who were talking to her. Finally turning around, she noticed that yes, she was actually the very girl being spoken to. Ehh, a Gryffindor. Sierra had never had much luck getting along with the Lions, but at least this one was offering a group.
"Mmkay, cool," she said, giving a nonchalant shrug. Err...she should thank them now, right? Argh. "Thanks," she added. She looked at both, silent for a moment, then said, "Sierra Greingoth. Fourth year Slytherin."
Spotting the Gryffindor checking to see that her gloves were on, Sierra did the same. Yup. They were there. "Okay, I'll help you tie the knots," she said, speaking up before the Ravenclaw could say anything. No way would Sierra sticking her hand into that plant. "Well, we're up," she said, noticing it was their turn for one of the plants. "Off we go."

No one was holding the vines now and both of the Hufflepuffs were close enough to get slapped all over by the Snargaluff. "Careful, Amelia!" Sophie gasped, lying on the floor with both of her hands up to protect her face and eventually grab the vines again, if possible.
