Scott turned to Nate and realized he'd spoken out of turn to Faina and tried to give her some signal of apology but it didn't seem to make any sense. He looked at Nate and took in a big breath. "If you saw what I saw, then you'd realize that Pam isn't coping as well as you think"

Scott had his wizard camera with him, as he had taken pictures of the Room of Requirement for his parents to reminisce over. He pulled it out in front of both Faina and Nate and turned to the picture he had taken; A picture of Pam screaming at the top of her voice. He raised his eyebrows at Nate, hoping his opinion had changed at least a little bit. His tone became more gentle. "But yes, with time" he paused "And providing you don't insult Pam by rubbing it in her face" another pause, eyeing the picture. "Then yes, I can get over this"
He had made a resignation, which he didn't particularly want to make, but he didn't want a dragged out feud.

The boy's jaw fell to the floor at that moment, brown eyes wide as saucers yet again. HOW did Ellie find out about that!? CRAP. And if she knew, that meant… EMMA KNEW TOO!

No wonder Emma was freaking out on him! … But how did Ellie find out?! The boy gave her a wary look. She always seemed like one of those wise, Dumbledore-like people to him… like she just knew everything without being told, and saw everything without being there.
Girls, man.

As Ellie continued, Brae's minor heart-attack went away, and he was left with guilt instead. He had no idea Emma had been feeling like this… she always seemed so happy and confident, he just… well, he just never really TRULY knew what was really going on in that pretty little head of hers. It amazed him that someone like Emma - insanely beautiful, incredibly smart, an amazing Quidditch player - would worry about losing him, the Gryffindork with the messy hair and the attention-span of a six-year-old.
So, he had to do something to let Emma know that she wasn't going to lose him.
But… what?

Brae's brows furrowed slightly as he suddenly turned thoughtful. What could he possibly do?! What would prove to Emma that he loved her and didn't want to lose her - and that she wasn't losing him either? What kind of things usually gave girls that message?
Uuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhh… Braeden nearly drooled as he stared off into space with his mouth open.

And then he realized.
Ellie was Emma's best friend. And he was in desperate need of help.

In a flash, the boy had dropped his books and wrapped his arms around the little Ravenclaw in a tight, probably even suffocating hug.

"Thank you! Thank you thank you thank you!" the boy cheered, holding the girl a few feet of the ground as he crushed her to death.

Eventually realizing that he was murdering his only hope at getting Emma back, the boy quickly released her. "I--I'm sorry--" "But--" Sigh. Wide smile. "You're the best, Ellie. Seriously. I don't know what I'd do without you." Die from broken noses and be dumped by pretty girlfriends, maybe?
