Herbology Lesson One
It was such a nice day outside, the weather was mild, not quite warm but not cold either. Just the way Seren liked it. Unfortunately the lesson wasn’t being held outdoors, no, it was being held in Greenhouse One, where the air was cooler, and the smell of damp soil filled the air.
As you enter the greenhouse the first thing you notice are the stools arranged to the side of the greenhouse by the door, and directly opposite these are stools of a different variety. That’s right, toadstools! While they may look harmless from a distance it’s not wise to get too close to them just yet, after all you wouldn’t want to be sent to the Hospital Wing before the lesson has even started.
Waiting patiently for the students to arrive, Professor Bentley stood by the door to welcome them as they entered; Though she was careful to position herself near the seating area so that she can keep an eye on any mischief making. Standing slightly to the side of the toadstools, was Professor Bentley’s old blackboard, neat and tidy cursive writing slowly appearing on its surface- as if by magic!

Ack!! Hearing Cassie, she frowned..."I'm...managing...."
Something had flashed by her cheek...and the bursts of pain had began. Not to mention, something warm was running down her cheek...Reaching a hand up, she pulled back to see...red? BLOOD?!
They were scratching her?!
...It stung...Her eyes watered slightly, but she didn't have time to think on it. Marilyn turned on the next toadstool, about to retrieve the cap from that one, as well. Before she knew it, something was pulling her back. Three pixies had her hair and were yanking.
Wow, they were...strong...Taking her wand, she began swinging it wildly over her head, trying to knock the devilish little creatures off balance. Getting angry, Marilyn accidently let a spell fly...
Oops...
"Um....Sorry about that..." She yelled behind her. Finally ridding her hair of two pixies, she rushed forward, working quickly to cut the second cap. One of the creatures was still tangled within her blonde curls...and he was gouging her scalp viciously...Tears were gathering in the corners of her eyes.
"Are they attacking you, too? I'm going to have SCARS everywhere..." Cassie was probably dealing with her own batch...If Marilyn could finish up here, she'd go help her out...
With two down, there was just one more left...

"STUPEFY!!!! IMMOBULUS!!!! IMMOBULUS!!! STUPEFY!!!" He shouted trying to stop pixies in their tracks left, right and center.
"Grab your caps, these pixies wont be a problem anymore." Just as he finished saying this 3 pixies made a beeline for him. "STUPEFY!!!!" Stops 1. "STUPEFY!!!" Misses the second but the shot gets the third, second pixie latches onto his face, he grabs the pixie and throws it in the opposite direction. "Well they wont be a problem for you anyways."
For him it was a slightly different matter as these pixies were becoming revengeful towards him.

Whipping around, Marilyn once again leveled her wand on these monstrous little creatures with their stupid little faces and stupid claws. "Immobulus! Stupify!"
She imagined her face looked a MESS...and her hair probably looked MUCH worse. The blonde was trying to remain calm...but this was really, REALLY miffing her.
Offering anyone in her vicinity a death glare, Marilyn reached into her hair and pulled the offending pixie out. He was scratching and biting at her gloved hand, but she cared NOT...Pulling it down to look it in it's stupid little eyes, "LISTEN...if you value your life, back away." She must have appeared quite a site because the one pixie flew off...but his friends remained.
Somebody rushed up behind her and she heard spells being shouted. Turning around, she noticed a...First Year?
Aww....How cute! "Thank you,, um...you kind gentleman..." She was amused...Although it didn't last long due to pain. Rushing back over the the toadstool, she quickly collected her third....
Smart kid...Must be a Ravenclaw..."Hey, let's help Cassie..." Usually she would have NEVER asked for anyone's help...but this little guy was soooo adorable...and she couldn't find it in herself to be mean.
"Cassie, need some assistance?" She rushed over to help...Her cheek was throbbing, however. She reached a gloved hand up and tried to staunch the bleeding. These little creatures were vicious!

Well this lesson seemed to be going rather well. Seren was quite pleased with the progress, even if she had been slightly concerned about the chaos caused by the devilish pixies. The students handled themselves beautifully. "Thanks for coming, so pleased you enjoyed it," she said smiling as some of the students began to leave. "You you next time." Quote:

The lesson was over, and Auggie could now walk around without looking over his shoulder for a wretched Pixie to fly up and try to eat his face. He placed the Toadstools where he was directed to and headed over to the Professor and the door.
"Goodbye Professor Bently, great lesson. And I um...will be sure to follow all the directions next time." he said looking a bit towards the ground. "Well uh, have a good day!" and then the Gryffindor headed out of the Greenhouses.

Grabbing all that she would need, the second year Gryffie turned to her caps. Meep. She was expecting pain.. and a lot of it. Shrugging to herself, she grabbed the first one. Thea'd get just as angry as these pixies, so it was fair play really. Mwahaaa!
As she twisted the top, the reaction was instant. Letting out a small growl, she hit the first pixie with her wand itself! Her eyebrows were almost touching her eyes as she scowled at the one casually parking itself on her nose. Eurgh! 'STUPEFY!' She squealed and it toppled off. Smirking, she harvested her first cap.
Wrinkling her nose, she saw something drip off the end. Oh. Fabulous. Blood.. Touching her nose and bringing it away, her gloved finger was red. The little rat had scratched her before it had fallen! .. Two more to go.

Taking his stuffs, Herbology lesson 1 finally came to an end. "Goodbye Professor" Jonathan said with a nod. He did eye the Ravenclaw as the Professor gave her instructions to give their harvested fangs to Lafay. She's a first year right? And maybe she could use some help in carrying those jars. It's not much of a hassle since Jonathan practically lives in the dungeons, which is where Lafay's office is located.
"uhmm" he mumbled. As he still kept looking the Ravenclaw first year and then Professor Bentley "I'd help her bring the jars" but of course, if the Ravenclaw is okay with that. It would be easier and faster at the same time.

Ahh it's no use... She finally gave up and made her way to the common room. Her hand was sore were the pixie bit her and she had a headache from all those screams in the classroom. However a smile formed on her lips as she thought of the lesson and she realized she didn't care at all that she was so tired. It was an amazing first lesson! She still looked forward to reaching her bed though...

Grasping her second cap, Thea planned to do this one quicker. Flicking a stray pixie aside, she stuck out her chin. No small ugly thing was going to make a fool out of her! Grasping it firmly, with her tounge sticking out the side she twisted it more quickly. Again, the reaction was ridiculous! 'Immobulus!!' she shouted as two of the stupid creatures bang tugging at her hair. Throwing her cap aside, she began beating the things off of her. 'Stupefy, immobulus!..' She paused, looking around. 'Stupefy!' This was harder than she had thought.. and maddening.

Yes! Victory was hers! Violet stood up, panting, sweating, disheveled, her straight brown hair practically standing on end, her robes askew, and a hole in the knee of one stocking, but with the third and final cap clasped gently between two fingers, cradled in the other hand to protect it from pixies. She never thought she would feel so good from getting so messed up.

Her third one was twisted and off, no she just had another batch of pixies to fend off. Pointing her wand at them one by one, they each began to drop. She had finished up with the toadstools (plus the pixies) , and all her limbs, and most of her hair was still there. Overall she had really enjoyed the class. She wasn't sure she was going to like it at first.. but now she couldn't wait for next time. As she left she smiled at Professor Bentley, "Thank you Professor, I really liked the lesson." oh shouldn't she say something else.. right "Have a good day!" she called as she walked out the door. Professor Bentley was definitely her favorite teacher, she'd have to remember to properly introduce herself sometime.

Violet had her precious caps cupped between her hands. Even though there were pixies following her, she gritted her teeth, ignored the pain of pinches and pulled hair, and sprinted toward the door. Finally, she dropped her caps in the box and grinned at the professor. "Some lesson! she beamed at her. Then she returned to pick up her things and straighten up her clothes and hair as best she could. "Goodbye professor, thank you!" she said before exiting the greenhouse, thinking she deserved a nice cup of tea about now.

Since she was super annoyed with those pixies all around, and mostly pulling her hair or trying to steal her wand, Nora didn't even notice that some students were leaving, once they had finished with the three toadstools. She also didn't seem to hear professor Bentley as she said that they were free to go. And now, the question was... what was she still doing there?
"Goodbye, professor," she said with a smile on her face.
No, she wasn't really annoyed because of professor Bentley. The pixies were the ones that drove her insane. She only hoped that they won't study about them in some Defence Against the Dark Arts class as she made her way out of the greenhouse.

Selina scrambled through out the room trying to find another cap. It was proving very difficult because the lesson was winding down and all of the students had already gotten a majority of them. However, there was something that did not have a shortage- Pixies. They were still flying about and wreaking havoc while Selina could not find her third and final cap. Then she caught sight of one and dodged across the room 007 style. Once she reached the cap she spun around on her heal and pointed her wand up in the air where all of the Pixies were starting to swarm. She was surrounded and said the first thing that came to mind, "Immobulus!" Like magic they all stopped and floated in mid-air. She grabbed her final cap and grinned.
With this in hand she reached the front of the room and placed all three of her caps in the protection of her Professor, some how she had a feeling this was all going to Lafay. She was still hurting, supply wise, since her fire last year.
"Thank you ma'am, enjoy your day!" Selina said brightly and exited the room. Time to get some food...

Alyssa looked all around her. Some of the students had already started pulling off caps and were encountering those pesky pixies. Dodging some of them as they flew by, she put on her gloves and started to remove the first cap.
"Okay, Alyssa. Remember to get your wand ready because those pixies are going to come atcha!!". Making sure that her wand was within hands reach, Alyssa held the top of and started twisting it off.
Immediately 4 pixies flew at her. She immediately grabbed her wand and managed to dodge the first 2, but the other 2 were heading for her head. She wanted to call for help but she saw that everybody was busy either coming to the aid of someone else or working on fighting off their own pixies. She then resorted to plain old fashion muggle technique. She waited for the pixies to come nearer and when they were within hands reached, reached out and swatted the both of them on the heads. Stunned the pixies fell to the floor. "Eeep! it worked," Alyssa almost squealed out loud. Catching herself, she looked around to see that no one had noticed her squeal of excitement and was glad that no one had.
She quickly turned around making sure that the other two weren't coming back and quickly pulled out the 1st cap. She quickly started on her 2nd cap.

Nicki gulped when she saw the pixies dive bombing at some of the students. She made sure to keep an eye on them as she put on her gloves and reached out to twist the first cap off the toadstool.
"So far, so good," she thought to herself and twisted the first cap off. As she lay the first one down and turned to start on the second cap, something yanked her hair and when she turned around, it came flying at her.
"Get away", she tried swatting it, but it dodged her and flew straight for her eye. "HELP ME SOMEONE!!"she yelled.

Even though Alyssa was working on getting her 2nd cap out, from the corner of her eye she saw Nicki getting attacked by a pixie and heard her yell for help. Noticing that no one was coming to her aid, Alyssa quickly ran to Nicki and smacked the pixie on the head with her hand. The stunned pixie slowly dropped to the floor.
Nodding to Nicki, she turned back to her 2nd cap and at the same time kept a lookout for those pixies. She took hold of the 2nd cap and quickly twisted off. "2 down, 1 to go. Hmmm....I wonder where are those pixies? Hopefully they've decided to leave everyone alone and go back home,"Alyssa thought to herself.
