Tori followed, also reholstering her wand as she went.

Kourtney laughed as Harlow did. It was pretty funny, but she would rather not experience it. Hopefully, the shield charm would work...

Drawing a deep breath, she sliced her wand through the air in the required movement and shouted "PROTEGO!!" putting the full meaning of the word behind it. A light shot from the end of her wand, but she was so surprised that she lost her concentration for a split second.

EEK!! She felt the weirdest sensation and nearly screamed as she felt wings beating a beat. Merlin's Beard!

The jinx, however, seemed not to last very long...perhaps her shield charm had absorbed most of the power behind it.

Wrinkling her nose, she shot a look at Harlow. "I have GOT to learn that one."

She turned her gaze towards the instructor as he called for attention. Well, it would definitely be fun to watch the other students duel...she just didn't feel like she was ready for it.

"Wanna go watch?" She asked. "Or do you want to practice your shield charm once more?"

Harlow had to stifle a giggle as one of Kourtney's boogers flapped its wings a few times, but the shield charm had absorbed most of the intensity of the spell. That was good because Harlow didn't know the counter-spell. She smiled at Kourtney's statement. "Yeah my cousin taught me that one. Its real easy actually." she nodded.

She stood down to listen to the dueling gnome. The real duels were about to start, "Yeah we can go watch. I don't think my shield is going to improve dramatically over the next five minutes." she giggled.

"Really? Even better!" She said, now excited at the prospect of learning the hex. It would be very beneficial to know. Glancing around at the others, she wondered briefly who was going to duel. Ah well, they'd see soon enough.

"Good point." Kourtney said with a laugh. "Let's go!" Linking her arm through Harlow's, she walked off towards the indicated spectator area.
